What the Maximiz Zapier integration does for you
The Maximiz Zapier integration links your Maximiz account to the rest of your tools through Zapier. It works in one direction only: Maximiz tells Zapier about a new contact on a list, and Zapier passes that person on to whichever app you put after it. Maximiz itself describes its job as turning website visitors into buyers.
Three things people usually build with it, all on the New Contact trigger. A running log: each new contact on a chosen list becomes a row in a spreadsheet, so you can sort and share the list without opening Maximiz. A heads-up for the team: the same event posts a short message in your team chat with the contact's details. A cleaner handover: the contact lands as a record in the tool where your follow-up happens, instead of being copied by hand.
Now the limits. Zapier offers no action and no search for Maximiz. So a Zap can read from Maximiz but never write back into it: no updating a contact, no adding someone to a list, no looking up a person who is already there. Every write in your Zap happens in another app. And the Zap only sees contacts added after you switch it on; what is already sitting in your lists stays where it is.
If you are still weighing Zapier itself, see our Zapier review before you build.
Zapier words in one minute
Eight words come back on this page. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Here it is New Contact.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in an app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan is a count of them.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens. New Contact is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Maximiz account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap and every step that needs Maximiz.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap that goes beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
What a Maximiz Zap really costs
The good news first: the Maximiz side of your Zap is free, because the trigger itself never uses a task.
- New Contact trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
You pay in tasks for what happens next. Each action that completes counts once, so a Zap with two actions uses twice what a one-action Zap uses, and an action that fails is not counted. Maximiz is not a premium app: it works on the free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like, each limited to one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which takes a paid plan. The interval grid below is how often Zapier checks a polling trigger on each plan; it does not apply to New Contact, which is instant whatever your plan.
Connect Maximiz to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Before you start, you need a Maximiz account of your own, plus access to the list you plan to watch if someone else owns it.
- 02
Pick Maximiz
Type Maximiz in the search box of the dialog, select it in the results, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the Maximiz side, where the sign-in happens.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Maximiz in that tab and allow Zapier to reach your account. The connection then shows on the Apps page, and every Maximiz step in every Zap can reuse it.
Your first Zap: log new contacts in a spreadsheet
GoalEach new contact on one Maximiz list, once it passes your filter, becomes a row in your spreadsheet.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and choose Maximiz as the app that starts it. Pick New Contact as the event and select the connection you made earlier.
- 02
Name the list
Fill in List name with the exact name of the Maximiz list to watch. It is the only required field of this trigger, so take it straight from your account rather than from memory.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of that list so you can map the next steps on a real person rather than a blank.
- 04
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, add Filter and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value to compare with. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Add the spreadsheet step
Add your spreadsheet app, choose the event that adds a row, and map the contact's details into the columns. Test it once and read the row it created.
- 06
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each contact added to the list goes through the filter without you lifting a finger.
The Maximiz trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Maximiz, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Contact

When a Maximiz Zap breaks
Zapier does not attach any help article to Maximiz, so the cases below are the general Zapier limits that apply to this trigger.
Here are the general limits to know: several are things the Zap does not do rather than errors. If something looks off, start with our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Old contacts never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts already on the list are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.The Zap keeps restarting itself
As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and eats your tasks.A big import gets held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.Contacts from the wrong list
List name is a required field, and a typo there is easy to miss. Check at the test that the three contacts it brings back belong to the list you meant.
