Mindstamp Zapier integrationAutomate Mindstamp with Zapier.

The Mindstamp Zapier integration offers 3 triggers, 0 actions and 0 searches. Mindstamp only sends: a lead, a view or an interaction on one of your videos starts a Zap, and the rest of the work happens in the apps you connect after it.

Overview

What the Mindstamp Zapier integration does for you

The Mindstamp Zapier integration lets what viewers do in your interactive videos start automations in other apps, through Zapier, the tool that runs automations between apps. It works one way: Mindstamp provides the starting event, and other apps do the writing.

Leads that do not stay in the video. When a viewer submits a name, an email, a phone number or a custom ID in one of your videos, New Lead hands it to Zapier. Send it to a spreadsheet or another tool and nobody has to export anything.

Answers that reach the right place. New Interaction starts a Zap each time a viewer interacts with one of your videos. Add a filter and only the interactions you care about go on to the next app.

A view log you can work with. New View fires for each video view on Mindstamp, so you can keep a running record of views outside the app.

What Zapier does not do here: Mindstamp has no action and no search, so a Zap can never write into Mindstamp, create a video or change one. All three triggers are polling triggers too: Zapier checks Mindstamp at an interval set by your plan, which means nothing arrives instantly. And nothing that happened before you switched the Zap on is sent.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Six words come back all over this page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. With Mindstamp, it is a lead, a view or an interaction on one of your videos.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. Here it always happens in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is a count of those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items and keeping only the ones it has not seen. All Mindstamp triggers work this way.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
Cost

What it really costs

Mindstamp is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works on the free plan. You pay in tasks, and only for what happens after Mindstamp.

  • Premium appNo, free plan works
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Mindstamp triggers3 polling, 0 instant
  • Checks for new itemsNever billed

A Mindstamp trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking Mindstamp for new items costs nothing either, however often it checks. Each action that succeeds in the next app counts as one task; a failed one is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes it a multi-step Zap (anything beyond one trigger and one action), which needs a paid plan. Since all three triggers are polling triggers, the plan also sets how often Zapier checks:

Connect

Connect Mindstamp to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your Mindstamp account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that starts from Mindstamp.

  2. 02

    Pick Mindstamp

Type Mindstamp in the search box of the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens so you can sign in to the Mindstamp account that holds your videos.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Mindstamp in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: qualified leads into a spreadsheet

GoalCopy the Mindstamp leads that match your rule into a spreadsheet, one row per lead, without exporting anything by hand.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the trigger

Start a new Zap, choose Mindstamp as the app and New Lead as the event, then select the Mindstamp connection you just created.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the connected account, so you pick a real one and see which fields come back before mapping anything.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon and add Filter: the field to look at, the rule, the value. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so this step needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet row

Add your spreadsheet app with its add row action, choose the sheet, and map the lead fields you saw at the test into the matching columns.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test the action once and check the new row in the sheet. If it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on for every new lead.

Triggers

Mindstamp triggers: leads, views and interactions

3 events start a Zap when something happens in Mindstamp. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Interaction

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a viewer makes an interaction with one of your videos.”

Starts your Zap when a viewer interacts with one of your Mindstamp videos. It is the broadest of the three triggers, so it suits Zaps that react to what people do inside a video rather than to who they are.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
send the interactions of one video to a sheet or a team tool, with a filter that keeps only the ones you need.
Watch out
check at the test which fields come back for an interaction before you map them into the next step.
2

New Lead

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a viewer submits their name, email, phone, or custom ID in one of your videos.”

Hands your Zap each viewer who submits a name, an email, a phone number or a custom ID in one of your videos. This is the trigger to pick when the video is there to collect contacts.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
push every new lead into a spreadsheet or the tool your sales team works in.
Watch out
check at the test what a real lead contains before you build the next step on any single field.
3

New View

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a video view takes place on Mindstamp.”

Fires each time a video view takes place on Mindstamp. It tells you that a video was watched, which makes it a good base for a running log of views kept outside the app.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
add one row per view to a sheet you already use for reporting.
Watch out
each view that passes on to an action costs a task, so a popular video can eat the free plan's 100 tasks quickly. A filter helps, on a paid plan.
When it breaks

When your Mindstamp Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Mindstamp and lists no Mindstamp-specific limit. What breaks here is general Zapier behaviour, and with three polling triggers, timing.

Four cases to check before you publish. Each one comes from how Zapier handles a polling trigger, so check them at the test stage.

  • Past viewers are never sent

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Leads, views and interactions recorded earlier are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • Nothing arrives instantly

All three triggers are polling triggers: Zapier checks Mindstamp every 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise.
  • The same item only once

Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same lead, view or interaction does not start the Zap twice.
  • Big bursts held back

A trigger that suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.

FAQ

Mindstamp Zapier integration: your questions

01Is the Mindstamp Zapier integration free?
Yes. Mindstamp is not a premium app, so it works on the free Zapier plan. That plan includes 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, as long as each Zap has two steps: a Mindstamp trigger and one action in another app. A New Lead to spreadsheet row Zap fits as it is. Add a filter or a second action and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Mindstamp Zap use?
None for Mindstamp itself. The triggers never cost a task, and Zapier checking Mindstamp for new items is free however often it happens. You pay one task for each action that succeeds after the trigger. A Zap that writes each new lead to a sheet uses one task per lead; if it also posts a message, two. On views, the count can climb fast, since every view that reaches an action is billed.
03Are Mindstamp triggers real time?
No. New Interaction, New Lead and New View are all polling triggers: Zapier asks Mindstamp for new items at a fixed interval set by your plan. That is every 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, and 1 on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans you can change how often a polling trigger checks, and run a check by hand from the editor when you want to test sooner. Instant delivery is not an option here.
04What do you need to connect a Mindstamp account?
An account on Mindstamp, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The connection runs from the Apps page of Zapier: + Add connection, search Mindstamp, Add connection, sign in to Mindstamp in the tab that opens, then grant access. Sign in with the account that holds the videos you want to watch, since the triggers read that account. Check it at the first test.
05Why does a Mindstamp lead show up late in the Zap?
Because New Lead is a polling trigger. Zapier does not hear about the lead when the viewer submits it; it finds it at its next check of Mindstamp. On the free plan that check happens every 15 minutes, so a lead can wait up to that long before the Zap runs. A paid plan shortens the interval to 2 minutes or 1 minute, and lets you run a check by hand.
06What if the Mindstamp operation you need is not available?
Then the Zapier integration does not offer it today. The Mindstamp app page on Zapier shows the current list: three triggers, no action, no search. So anything that writes into Mindstamp, such as creating or editing a video, cannot be done from a Zap. What you can do is react to leads, views and interactions and act in other apps. Keep in mind that each of those actions runs in the other app and costs one task when it succeeds.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Mindstamp?
Use criteria rather than a ranking. First, coverage: on Zapier Mindstamp offers three polling triggers and nothing else, so check what the other tool lists for Mindstamp. Second, timing: on Zapier, how fast a lead arrives depends on your plan's polling interval. Third, the apps after the trigger, where all the actions run. And on Zapier, a filter on interactions or a second action already makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
