Overview

What the Mobilo Card Zapier integration does

It connects Mobilo Card, a digital business card that shares your contact details with a tap and turns meetings into leads, to the rest of your tools. A Zap, the automation you build on Zapier, starts when a new lead appears in Mobilo Card and then acts in another app.

Your own card leads, in your CRM. New Lead (For Your Account) picks up the people who left their details on your card, and the Zap creates the matching contact in your CRM.

One sheet for a whole team. New Lead (For Your Group) gathers the leads of a group or department inside the organization, so a manager follows them in one spreadsheet.

A company-wide view. New Lead (For Your Organization) covers the leads created for any employee, which suits whoever runs the follow-up for everyone.

All three are polling triggers. Zapier checks Mobilo Card on a timer, every 15 minutes on the free plan, so a lead never reaches your other tools the instant it is captured.

What Zapier does not do here. Mobilo Card has no action and no search on Zapier: a Zap cannot write into it, change a lead or look one up. Only new leads start a Zap, and leads created before the Zap is on stay behind. To weigh other tools, see our n8n vs Zapier guide.

Vocabulary

Zapier in one minute

Seven words you will meet in the editor, in plain terms.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap, here a new lead in Mobilo Card. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, always in another app here.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those and nothing else.
Polling vs instant trigger
A polling trigger, like the three of Mobilo Card, is checked on a timer for new items. An instant one is reported by its app as it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Mobilo Card Zap really costs

Zapier bills tasks, and a Mobilo Card lead costs nothing by itself. The trigger is free, and so is every check Zapier runs to look for new leads.

  • Mobilo Card on the free planYes, not reserved for paid plans
  • Free plan tasks100 per month
  • Free plan Zap size2 steps: one trigger, one action
  • Mobilo Card triggers3, all polling

Only the action in your other app counts: one task each time it succeeds, nothing when it fails. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps, which is exactly a Mobilo Card trigger plus one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan. A few apps and actions take more than one task. The interval grid below applies to all three Mobilo Card triggers, since they are polling triggers. To compare plans, see our Zapier review.

Connect

Connect Mobilo Card to Zapier

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box where you find any app Zapier supports by its name.

  2. 02

    Pick Mobilo Card and confirm

Type Mobilo Card, select it in the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens, where you sign in to Mobilo Card with the account your card belongs to.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to access the account. You need an account on Mobilo Card, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch, such as colleagues' leads.

First Zap

Your first Zap: card leads into your CRM

GoalCreate a contact in your CRM for each new lead your Mobilo Card collects, keeping only the leads that meet a condition you set.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose Mobilo Card as the trigger app and New Lead (For Your Account) as the event, then pick the Mobilo Card connection you made earlier.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the connected account, so you map on a real one and see which details a lead carries.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter and fill its three boxes: field, rule, value. Use a text rule for text, a number rule for numbers. A filter step needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add your CRM

Add your CRM and its contact-creation action, then map the lead's details from the trigger test into the matching fields of the new contact.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test the CRM step and read what came back. Then click Publish: Zapier now checks Mobilo Card at the interval of your plan.

Triggers

The 3 Mobilo Card triggers

3 events start a Zap when something happens in Mobilo Card. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Lead (For Your Account)

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new lead has been created for your own account.”

Starts your Zap with each new lead created on your own Mobilo Card account, and no one else's.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
you hand out your own card at meetings and want each person who shares their details to reach your CRM or your inbox.
Watch out
leads collected by colleagues stay out of this Zap; for those, the group or organization trigger is the one to pick.
2

New Lead (For Your Group)

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new lead has been created for your group (or department), within the organization.”

Watches the leads created for your group, or department, inside the organization, rather than a single card.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
a team lead wants every lead the team collects in one shared sheet or one follow-up tool.
Watch out
the connected account needs read or write access on the group's leads it does not own; run a test to see which leads actually come back.
3

New Lead (For Your Organization)

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is created for any employee in your organization. If you just want to set this up for your own account, use the New Lead (for your account) trigger.”

Covers the widest scope: a new lead created for any employee in your organization starts the Zap.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
one person or one tool handles the follow-up for the whole company and needs every lead, whoever met them.
Watch out
every lead that reaches your action and succeeds costs a task, whoever collected it; if only some leads matter, a filter can hold the others back, on a paid plan.
When it breaks

When a Mobilo Card Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Mobilo Card, so the cases below are the general limits every Zap runs into.

  • No backlog pickup

A Zap only reacts to leads created after you switch it on. Older leads in Mobilo Card are never sent; moving them is a separate job.
  • Bulk batches held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • One lead, one run

On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same lead does not start the Zap twice.
  • A filter that never passes

Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text and a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong one is why a filter never lets anything through.

FAQ

Mobilo Card and Zapier: frequent questions

01Is the Mobilo Card Zapier integration free?
Yes. Mobilo Card is not reserved for paid plans, so it works on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps, one trigger and one action. New Lead (For Your Account) followed by a new row in your spreadsheet fits exactly. Add a filter to keep only some leads, or a second action, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The free plan also checks for new leads every 15 minutes.
02How many tasks does a Mobilo Card Zap use?
Only the actions count. Mobilo Card has no action of its own, so the trigger and every check Zapier makes for new leads cost nothing. If your Zap creates a CRM contact for each lead, that is one task per lead when the contact is created, and none when it fails. A Zap that also sends an email uses two tasks per lead. A few apps and actions take more than one task when they complete, so keep an eye on your count after the first runs.
03Does Mobilo Card work in real time with Zapier?
No. All three Mobilo Card triggers are polling triggers: Zapier asks Mobilo Card for new leads at a fixed interval, then keeps only those it has not seen. That interval depends on your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. On a paid plan you can change how often it checks and run a check by hand from the editor. A lead captured at a meeting therefore reaches your other tools at the next check, not on the spot.
04What does connecting Mobilo Card to Zapier require?
An account on Mobilo Card, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. For your own card, your own account is enough. For the group or organization triggers, that access has to cover the leads of your colleagues. The connection is made once from the Apps page with + Add connection: you sign in to Mobilo Card in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access.
05Which Mobilo Card lead trigger should you pick?
Pick by scope. New Lead (For Your Account) covers only the leads created on your own card. New Lead (For Your Group) covers your group or department inside the organization. New Lead (For Your Organization) covers a lead created for any employee, and the official description itself points to the account trigger when you only want your own. For the group and organization triggers, the connected account needs access to leads it does not own. Test the trigger before publishing to check the leads it brings back.
06What if the Mobilo Card operation you need is not available?
Open the Mobilo Card page on Zapier, which shows the current set of operations: three triggers for new leads, with no action and no search. A Zap therefore cannot create, change or look up anything in Mobilo Card; it can only carry new leads out to other apps. If you need to react to something other than a new lead, Zapier cannot start from Mobilo Card for it, and the tool where that event happens has to start the Zap instead.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Mobilo Card?
Decide by criterion, not by brand. On Zapier, Mobilo Card gives you three polling triggers on new leads, with the plan interval deciding how soon each lead travels, and billing on the actions in your other apps only. If speed matters, the interval on your plan is a criterion in itself. For Make or n8n, the first check is whether either one offers a Mobilo Card connector with the lead events you need; this page covers Zapier only.
