What the Mocono Zapier integration actually does
Mocono helps website owners follow their subscribers, run their subscriptions and keep an eye on what those subscriptions charge. The integration links it to Zapier, so each change in a subscriber's status can set off work in your other apps. It works in one direction only: Mocono starts Zaps, it does not receive anything.
A welcome that goes out for free sign-ups. Free Registration starts a Zap when a free subscription account is created. Put your email tool behind it and every new free member gets added to your list without an export.
Active subscribers your team knows about. Subscription Activated fires when a subscription account is activated. A message in your team chat, or a new contact in your CRM, and nobody has to watch the Mocono dashboard.
Cancellations that do not go unnoticed. Subscription Cancelled starts a Zap when a subscription account is cancelled, so the person in charge can follow up while it still matters.
What Zapier does not do here. Mocono has no actions and no searches on Zapier: a Zap cannot create, change or look up a subscriber in Mocono. Every Zap built on this page starts in Mocono and ends in another app. The upside is speed, since all three triggers are instant. If you are weighing tools for this kind of job, see our Make vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier words in one minute
Seven words come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, like a cancelled subscription. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, in another app here.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's quota is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it there otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What it really costs
Mocono is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. What you pay for is tasks, and with Mocono they are all spent in other apps.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- TriggersAll 3 instant, no task
- Failed actionNot counted
The trigger never costs a task, so a new free registration that starts the Zap is free. Each action that succeeds counts as one task, and since Mocono has no actions, those tasks are the steps you add in your email tool, CRM or chat. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only: a filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to polling triggers; it does not apply to Mocono, whose three triggers are instant.
Connect Mocono to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Mocono account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Mocono
Type Mocono in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens, and that is where the rest of the connection happens.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Mocono in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is then reused by every Mocono trigger in every Zap, so you only link the account once.
Your first Zap: alert the right person when a subscription is cancelled
GoalA subscription is cancelled in Mocono: a filter keeps only the cases you care about, and an email goes to whoever handles follow-ups.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose Mocono and the Subscription Cancelled event, then your connection. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the account, so you map from a real one.
- 02
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so this one needs a paid plan.
- 03
Pick the right rule type
Rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. A filter that never passes comes from the wrong rule type at this point.
- 04
Add the email and test
Choose your email tool and its send action, write the message with the values from the cancellation, then test the step and read what came back.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Each new cancellation reaches it straight away; the ones before that moment are not picked up.
Mocono triggers
3 events start a Zap when something happens in Mocono, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

When the Mocono Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mocono, so the risks below are the ones every Zap shares.
These limits come from Zapier itself and apply to every app, Mocono included. If one of them gets in your way, start with our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Nothing from before the Zap
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Subscribers who already existed are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.Flood protection on big batches
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.A Zap that sets itself off
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burns through your task count.
