Overview

What the Movermate Zapier integration actually does

The Movermate Zapier integration lets your other tools write into Movermate, the CRM built for moving companies. It works one way only: something happens in another app, and Zapier creates a removal lead or a removal job in Movermate for you. Movermate itself never starts a Zap.

Two outcomes come straight out of the two actions. First, enquiries that land in your CRM on their own: a visitor fills in the quote form on your website, and Create Removal Lead files the enquiry in Movermate with the first name the action needs. No copying from an inbox, no typos in the name.

Second, jobs booked without double entry: when a move is confirmed in another tool, Create Removal Jobs adds the job to Movermate with its date. A third use mixes both on a paid plan, one Zap creating the lead and then the job.

Now what it does not do. There is no trigger, so nothing that happens in Movermate (a new lead, a new job) can set off a Zap. There is no search step either, so a Zap cannot check whether a lead already exists before creating another. And neither action updates or deletes: both only create.

If that one-way setup leaves you weighing other tools, see our Make vs Zapier page before you decide.

Vocabulary

The Zapier words you need, in one minute

Six terms come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts a Zap. Movermate has none, so on this page the trigger always comes from another app you use.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, here a lead or a job in Movermate.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Movermate Zap really costs

Movermate is not a premium app, so it works on Zapier's free plan. You pay in tasks, and only actions produce them.

  • Trigger (other app)0 task
  • Each successful Movermate action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan

The trigger from your other app never costs a task. Each Movermate action that succeeds counts once, and an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps: one trigger and one action. Creating a lead and then a job in the same Zap, or adding a filter, needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies only to the trigger of the app that starts your Zap, and only if that trigger is a polling one.

Connect

Connect Movermate to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Movermate account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Find Movermate and add it

Type Movermate in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens so you can finish the link on the Movermate side.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Movermate in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. Every Movermate step in every Zap then reuses this connection, so you only do it once.

First Zap

Your first Zap: only real quote requests reach Movermate

GoalEach answer on your website form that meets a condition you choose becomes a removal lead in Movermate.

  1. 01

    Set the trigger

Create a Zap and pick your form tool as the app that starts it, with its new-answer event. Movermate has no trigger, so the Zap always opens on another app.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent answers of the connected form account, so you map the next steps on a real one.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value to compare with. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add Create Removal Lead

Pick Movermate, then Create Removal Lead, then your connection. Map the first name from the form answer, test the step once and read what Movermate sent back.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Each answer that passes the filter then becomes a lead, and each lead created successfully counts as one task.

Actions

Movermate actions

Movermate gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Removal Jobs

Action

In Zapier“Creates a Removal Jobs in Movermate”

Adds a removal job to Movermate, which is the step to use once a move is confirmed rather than just requested.

When to use it
a booking or a signed quote is recorded in another tool, and the job should appear in Movermate with its date.
Watch out
two fields are required here, the first name and the date. A source that only carries a name is not enough; check the date format at the test.
2

Create Removal Lead

Action

In Zapier“Creates a Removal Lead in Movermate”

Files a new removal lead in Movermate from whatever another app hands over, so an enquiry never waits in an inbox for someone to retype it.

When to use it
your website quote form or another tool collects people who want a move, and each one should enter your Movermate pipeline.
Watch out
the first name is required. Make sure the app that starts the Zap actually collects it before you map the field.
When it breaks

When a Movermate Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article of its own to Movermate. Since Movermate only receives data, the traps below are the general ones of any Zap.

Read these four cases before you publish. If something still looks off afterwards, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Nothing from before the Zap

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Form answers or bookings that existed before are never sent to Movermate.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through your task count fast.
  • A sudden big batch

If the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.
  • The same item twice

Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same form answer does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

Movermate Zapier integration: your questions

01Is the Movermate Zapier integration free?
Yes. Movermate is not a premium app, so it runs on Zapier's free plan, which gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like. The limit is size: each Zap stops at two steps, one trigger and one action. Sending a form answer to Movermate as a lead fits in that. Creating the lead and then the job in the same Zap, or filtering out some answers first, needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Movermate Zap use?
One task each time a Movermate action completes successfully. The trigger, which comes from your other app, never costs a task. A Zap that creates one removal lead per form answer uses one task per answer. A Zap that creates a lead and then a job uses two per answer. An action that fails is not counted. On the free plan, your 100 tasks a month are shared across all your Zaps.
03Does Movermate work in real time with Zapier?
Movermate has no trigger, so the speed of your Zap depends on the trigger of the app that starts it. If that trigger is instant, the app reports the event to Zapier itself and no interval applies. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer set by your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Check the trigger of your starting app on its own page in Zapier.
04What do you need to connect Movermate to Zapier?
A Movermate account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You connect it from the Apps page of your Zapier account: add a connection, search Movermate, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. You also need an account on the app that will start the Zap, since Movermate cannot start one itself. Every Movermate step in every Zap then reuses that one connection.
05Can a new Movermate lead start a Zap?
No. The integration has no trigger at all, so nothing that happens inside Movermate can set off a Zap: not a new lead, not a new job. Zapier can only write into Movermate, through Create Removal Lead and Create Removal Jobs. If you want to send Movermate data to another tool, the Movermate page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, and today it has no starting event to offer.
06What if the Movermate operation you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it with Movermate. The integration offers two actions, Create Removal Lead and Create Removal Jobs, with no trigger, no search and nothing that updates or deletes. Check Movermate's page on Zapier, which shows the current list, before you plan a Zap around a step it does not have. If that step is essential to your process, look at what other automation tools offer for Movermate. Starting from the actual list saves you a dead end.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Movermate?
Decide on criteria, not on a ranking. On Zapier, Movermate works from the free plan but only receives data: two create actions, nothing to start a Zap. If you need Movermate events to flow out to other tools, that is the first thing to check elsewhere. Then compare how each tool handles the app that starts your Zaps, and what each charges for the number of leads and jobs you expect to create.
