Overview

What the myhm Zapier integration actually does

It connects myhm, a CRM and communication tool for residential construction companies, to the other apps you use. On Zapier it covers three kinds of records, customers, projects and assets, with an event for each new or updated one, a way to create each, and searches to find them.

Three things you can build with it. A mailing list that follows the CRM: New Customer sends each new client to your mailing tool, so nobody exports a file to keep the list current. A project space ready on day one: New Project opens a folder or a card in your planning tool for each construction job created in myhm. Requests that become records: a quote request sent through your website form feeds Create Customer, and the client is in myhm before anyone calls back.

Now the limits. None of the six triggers is instant: Zapier checks myhm at your plan's interval, every 15 minutes on the free one. There is no update or delete action, so a Zap can create records in myhm but cannot change or remove them. Get Customer and Get Project need an id to work, and an earlier step of the Zap has to supply it. And there is no find-or-create variant, so a search never creates a missing record for you.

If you are still choosing between tools, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison.

Vocabulary

The Zapier words you need, in one minute

Eight terms come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain English, so the rest of the page reads without a dictionary.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. myhm offers six of them.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, such as Create Project.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items. An instant one is reported by the app the moment it happens. All six here poll.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something already in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found, such as a project's details.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a myhm Zap really costs

myhm is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. What decides the bill is the number of successful actions, and what decides the plan is the shape of the Zap.

  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan
  • Tasks on the free plan100 per month
  • Steps per Zap on the free plan2 (one trigger, one action)
  • Instant triggers0 of 6

Triggers never cost a task, and neither do Zapier's checks, however often they run. Each action that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps of two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter, a second action or any of the six searches makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval below applies to all six myhm triggers.

Connect

Connect myhm to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is made once, then every Zap that uses myhm reuses it, whichever trigger, action or search it relies on.

  2. 02

    Find myhm and add it

Type myhm in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens so you can sign in to your myhm account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to myhm in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a new project gets its own card

GoalEach project created in myhm that meets your condition opens a card in your planning tool, so the job is visible to everyone from the start.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose myhm as the app that starts it and New Project as the event. Select your myhm connection, or add it now.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent projects of the connected account, so the next steps are set on a real one.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the card

Choose your planning tool and its card creation action, then map the project details you need. Check at the test which fields the project really carries.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the action once and open your board to check the new card. If the card looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

The six myhm triggers

6 events start a Zap when something happens in myhm. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Asset

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new asset is created.”

Assets created in myhm start this Zap, one run for each new asset record, so the item can be copied or announced in the next tool.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
every asset added in myhm should also land in a shared spreadsheet that people outside the CRM read.
Watch out
only assets created after the Zap is published come through; the ones already in myhm stay out, so copy that backlog separately.
2

New Customer

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new customer is created.”

Customers added to myhm, the CRM where a residential construction company keeps its clients, each start a run of this Zap.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a new client should be added to your mailing tool or announced in your team chat without anybody retyping the details.
Watch out
edits to a customer who already exists are a different event, covered by Updated Customer.
3

New Project

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new project is created.”

Projects created in myhm, the construction jobs you run for clients, kick off this Zap each time a new one appears.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a new project should get its own folder, card or channel in another tool, so files and conversations have a home from the start.
Watch out
a large batch of projects imported at once can be held back by Zapier's flood protection at the next check.
4

Updated Asset

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a asset is updated.”

Changes rather than creations: this trigger reacts when an asset that already exists in myhm is updated.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a correction made to an asset in myhm should be carried into the sheet or tool that mirrors your asset list.
Watch out
to change the matching record in another app, that app's own Zap step has to find it there first, which makes the Zap multi-step.
5

Updated Customer

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer is updated.”

Customer edits in myhm, such as a corrected name, start this Zap whenever an existing customer is updated.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
your mailing tool or accounting software should hold the same customer details as the CRM.
Watch out
check at the test which fields come back, and only then decide what the next step updates.
6

Updated Project

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a project is updated.”

Project updates are the event here: an existing project in myhm being changed is what starts the Zap.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
the team should hear about a project that moved, or a card in your planning tool should follow the change.
Watch out
as a general precaution, a Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can set itself off again; keep the two places apart.
Actions

The three myhm actions

myhm gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Asset

Action

In Zapier“Create an asset.”

Records a new asset in myhm with a name and a type, sent by another app.

When to use it
items listed in a spreadsheet or a form should be added to myhm as assets without a second round of typing.
Watch out
both name and type are required, so the source has to carry a value for each one.
2

Create Customer

Action

In Zapier“Create a customer.”

Adds a customer to myhm from details collected in another app, so a new client exists in the CRM without anyone typing it in.

When to use it
a contact form on your website or a quote request should turn into a customer record in myhm.
Watch out
name is the only required field, so check at the test that the source sends a real name and not an empty value.
3

Create Project

Action

In Zapier“Create a project construction.”

Opens a new construction project in myhm from another tool, starting with its name.

When to use it
a signed quote or an accepted proposal in another app should create the matching project in the CRM.
Watch out
name is the only required field; check at the test which other details the step accepts before mapping them.
Searches

The six myhm searches

6 search steps look for data that already exists in myhm, so a later step can use it.

A search step finds something that already exists in myhm, a customer, a project, an asset, and hands it to the next steps. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. myhm offers no find-or-create variant. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not a single clean match.

1

Get Asset

Search

In Zapier“Finds an Asset.”

Finds one asset in myhm and hands it to the steps that follow, so they can use what is already on record.

When to use it
a later step needs the details of a specific asset that already exists in the CRM.
Watch out
a search step makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
2

Get Assets

Search

In Zapier“Get Asset List.”

Returns the list of assets held in myhm, rather than a single one.

When to use it
a step needs to work with the asset list as a whole, for instance to build a summary in another tool.
Watch out
check at the test how the list comes back before you map it into the next step.
3

Get Customer

Search

In Zapier“Finds a customer.”

Finds a single customer in myhm from an id and passes the record to the next steps.

When to use it
a step needs the full customer record and an earlier step already holds that customer's id.
Watch out
id is required, so this search only works when a previous step provides it; check at the test that one does.
4

Get Customers

Search

In Zapier“Get Customer List”

Returns the customer list from myhm in one go.

When to use it
you want to compare or copy the CRM's customer list as a whole from inside a Zap.
Watch out
with several results, the default keeps the first one; If multiple search results are found? can hand them all on instead.
5

Get Project

Search

In Zapier“Finds a project construction.”

Construction projects are looked up one at a time by this search, from the project's id.

When to use it
a later step needs a project's details and an earlier step already carries its id.
Watch out
id is required; if no project matches, the Zap stops at this step unless Successful if no search results are found? is switched on.
6

Get Projects

Search

In Zapier“Get project construction list.”

Project lists come back whole with this search: every construction project held in myhm.

When to use it
a summary or a report in another tool needs the projects as a whole, not one at a time.
Watch out
a search makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan, and the test shows what the list contains.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps that depended on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
Ticking it turns a search into a find-or-create on the apps that offer one. myhm exposes no such variant, so its searches never create anything.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several records match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When a myhm Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to myhm, so the cases below are the general limits of every Zap, applied to this CRM.

Each of these cases has a clear fix once you know where to look. For a step-by-step method, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Old records are not sent

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Customers, projects or assets already in myhm stay out; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • Everything arrives on a timer

All six triggers poll. Zapier checks at your plan's interval, 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise, so changes show up at the next check.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start again and again and burn through tasks. Keep the source and the destination apart.
  • A big import held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.

FAQ

myhm Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the myhm Zapier integration free?
For simple Zaps, yes. myhm is not a premium app, so a Zap made of one trigger and one action runs on the free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps of two steps. New Customer to your mailing tool, or a web form to Create Project, fits there. The six searches are another matter: adding Get Customer, Get Project or any other search makes the Zap multi-step, and multi-step Zaps need a paid plan. The same goes for a filter or a second action.
02How many tasks does a myhm Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the rest. The six triggers are free, and Zapier checking myhm for new or updated records costs nothing either, however often it looks. An action that does not go through is not counted. A Zap with two actions counts each successful one on its own, so it uses twice as much per run as a one-action Zap. On the free plan, 100 tasks a month means 100 new customers or projects passed to a one-action Zap.
03Does myhm send changes to Zapier in real time?
No. All six triggers, New Asset, New Customer, New Project and their three Updated counterparts, are polling triggers. Zapier asks myhm for new items at a fixed interval set by your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. On a paid plan, the frequency can be changed and a check can be run by hand from the editor. If your project updates need to reach the team quickly, take the plan into account before you build.
04What does it take to connect myhm to Zapier?
An account on myhm, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Then the usual route: open Apps in your Zapier account, click + Add connection, search for myhm, click Add connection, sign in to myhm in the new tab and grant Zapier access. One connection serves all fifteen operations. The app on the other side of the Zap, your mailing tool or planning board, needs its own connection too.
05Why does Get Customer or Get Project find nothing?
Both searches require an id, so the search only works when an earlier step of the Zap actually carries that id; check at the test that one does. If the search finds nothing, the Zap stops at that step by default, and the steps after it are skipped. Switch on Successful if no search results are found? if the Zap should carry on anyway. Get Customers and Get Projects return lists instead, which avoids the id question.
06What if a myhm operation is missing?
The myhm page on Zapier shows the current list: six triggers, three actions and six searches, with no update or delete action. If you need to change or remove a customer, a project or an asset from a Zap, this integration does not cover it today. Creation and lookups are what a Zap can do here, so check that list before you plan a Zap around an edit. What the six triggers do offer is a signal when a record is created or updated in myhm.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for myhm?
Judge by criteria, not by a ranking. Coverage first: on Zapier, myhm offers creation, lookups and polling triggers, so check what the other tools provide for this app before comparing. Timing next: every myhm trigger polls, from 15 minutes on Zapier's free plan down to 1 minute on Team and Enterprise. Shape last: any Zap with a search or a filter needs a paid plan on Zapier. If most of your ideas involve looking up projects, price that plan in from the start.
