NiftyImages Zapier integrationAutomate NiftyImages with Zapier.
NiftyImages Zapier integration: 0 triggers, 2 actions, 0 searches. Zapier cannot start a Zap from NiftyImages, but it can write into it: a record in your data store, or a new target date on a timer. Here is how that works, what it costs, and where it breaks.

What the NiftyImages Zapier integration does
NiftyImages is an email marketing tool that changes the images in your emails so each reader sees a version that fits them. Zapier, an automation tool, can feed it from your other apps: a Zap (the automation you build) waits for an event elsewhere, then acts in NiftyImages. Two actions are on offer, and that is the whole integration.
A data store kept up to date. Add Data Store Record adds a record to your NiftyImages data store, or updates one, each time something happens in another app, such as a new row in a sheet.
A timer that moves with your plans. Update Timer Target Date gives a timer image a new target date when a date changes somewhere else, so you do not edit the timer by hand.
Both in one go. A single event can change a timer and add a record, with two actions in the same Zap. That makes it multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
What Zapier does not do here. NiftyImages has no trigger on Zapier, so nothing that happens in NiftyImages can start a Zap. There is no search either: a Zap cannot look up a record or a timer. Every Zap with NiftyImages starts in another app and ends with one of these two actions, so the speed of the Zap depends on that other app.

Zapier words in one minute
Eight words carry the rest of this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts a Zap. With NiftyImages, it always comes from another app, since NiftyImages has none.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, here in NiftyImages.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan's count is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier checks an app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself. Which one applies depends on the trigger app you pick.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your NiftyImages account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that uses NiftyImages.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a NiftyImages Zap costs in tasks
NiftyImages is not a premium app, so both its actions work on the free plan. The trigger, whatever app it comes from, never costs a task.
- Trigger cost0 tasks
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Zap size on Free2 steps
- Premium appNo
The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A second action or a filter makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Each NiftyImages action that succeeds is one task; one that fails is not counted. Checking the trigger app for new items costs nothing either. The interval grid below applies when the trigger you pick is a polling one; NiftyImages has no trigger of its own.
Connect NiftyImages to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
Sign in to Zapier and open the Apps page of your account. Click + Add connection, type NiftyImages in the search box of the dialog, and pick it from the results.
- 02
Sign in to NiftyImages
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on NiftyImages: sign in there with your NiftyImages account, then return to Zapier. You only sign in once: Zapier then keeps the account linked for your Zaps.
- 03
Grant Zapier access
Grant Zapier access to the account. What you need beforehand: an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The connection is then reused by every NiftyImages step.
Your first Zap: a timer that follows your sheet
GoalGive a NiftyImages timer a new target date when a row in your spreadsheet passes your condition.
- 01
Start a new Zap
In Zapier, start a new Zap. This is the build phase: you pick the app and event that start it, then the apps that follow, and map the fields between steps.
- 02
Set the spreadsheet trigger
Pick your spreadsheet app and its new-row event, then test it. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you work from a real row.
- 03
Add the filter
Add a Filter step from the plus icon and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add Update Timer Target Date
Pick NiftyImages and Update Timer Target Date. Paste the timer's address into Timer Image URL, then map Target Date from a date in the row. Check at the test how that date comes through.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the timer shows the right date, click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each passing row moves the timer.
The 2 NiftyImages actions
NiftyImages gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Add Data Store Record
ActionIn Zapier“Add or Update a Record into your Data Store.”
Add Data Store Record writes into the data store of your NiftyImages account: it adds a record, or updates one, from what the earlier steps of the Zap carried.
Update Timer Target Date
ActionIn Zapier“Updates a Timer's Target Date.”
Update Timer Target Date gives a NiftyImages timer a new target date. Timer Image URL and Target Date are required, and an optional Is Utc box decides whether the date is adjusted to the time zone set when the timer was created.
When a NiftyImages Zap breaks
Zapier ties no help article to NiftyImages, so the cases below are the general limits of any Zap, applied to one that ends in NiftyImages.
Each card names a limit and the move that avoids it. If a Zap still misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Old rows never come through
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Whatever the trigger app held before is not sent to NiftyImages; moving it is a separate job.A huge batch can be held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.A Zap that feeds itself
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burn through your task count fast.A failed action costs nothing
An action that does not go through is not counted against your plan. Only a NiftyImages action that completes is billed as a task.
