OnlyTax Zapier integrationAutomate OnlyTax with Zapier.
The OnlyTax Zapier integration is short: 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. That single action, Create Invoice, writes an invoice into OnlyTax from data that lives in another app, so nobody retypes the amounts or the VAT rate.
Beta app Zapier still marks this integration as beta.

What the OnlyTax Zapier integration is for
It lets another app create invoices in OnlyTax for you. OnlyTax is a tax and accounting tool aimed at self-employed people and small companies in Spain, and on Zapier it exposes one thing: an action that writes an invoice. It is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, and Zapier still lists it as a beta.
Three results people build with that one action. A sales sheet that bills itself: each row you add with a description, a quantity and a unit price becomes an invoice through Create Invoice. A form that closes the loop: a client fills in an order form and the invoice exists before you open your accounting. A shop or booking tool that hands its sales over: every completed order is sent to OnlyTax with its VAT rate, so nothing is retyped.
Now the limits, because they are big. OnlyTax has no trigger, so nothing that happens inside OnlyTax can start a Zap: the Zap always begins in another app. It has no search, so a Zap cannot look up an existing invoice or client before writing. And there is no action to update, send or cancel an invoice: Create Invoice is the whole menu. If you want an outside view of Zapier itself before you commit, the Zapier review and n8n vs Zapier are the places to start.
Zapier words you will meet here
The page uses a handful of Zapier terms. Here they are in plain language.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. For OnlyTax, the trigger always comes from another app, since OnlyTax offers none.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started. Here, the only one available is Create Invoice, which writes an invoice in OnlyTax.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Each invoice created counts as one task.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items and keeping only those it has not seen before.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for the next check by Zapier.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. Adding a filter or a second action makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
What an OnlyTax Zap costs
The trigger, which comes from another app, never costs a task. Each invoice that Create Invoice writes successfully costs one.
- Tasks per month on Free100
- Steps per Zap on Free2 (one trigger, one action)
- Premium appNo, works on Free
- OnlyTax triggers0
An attempt that fails is not counted against your plan, and checking the source app for new data costs nothing either. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. That fits OnlyTax well, since one trigger plus Create Invoice is already a full Zap. Add a filter and it becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. How fast the Zap reacts depends on the other app's trigger and your plan.
Connect your OnlyTax account
- 01
Go to your connections
Open the Apps page of your Zapier account. A connection is your OnlyTax account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that writes invoices into it.
- 02
Add OnlyTax
Click + Add connection, search for OnlyTax by name in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing OnlyTax account for the next part.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to OnlyTax in the tab that opens and allow Zapier to access the account. Invoices created by your Zaps then land in that account, so connect the one you actually bill from.
Your first Zap: bill each new sale from a sheet
GoalWhen a new sale is added to a spreadsheet and marked as ready, create the matching invoice in OnlyTax.
- 01
Pick the starting app
Create a Zap and choose the app that holds your sales as the trigger, here a spreadsheet and its new-row event. OnlyTax cannot start a Zap.
- 02
Test with a real sale
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows, so pick a real, complete sale to map the invoice on.
- 03
Hold back unfinished rows
From the plus icon, add Filter: a value from the row, a text rule, and the word that marks a sale as ready. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add Create Invoice
Add OnlyTax with Create Invoice and map Activity Code, Description, Quantity, Unit Price and VAT (%) from the matching columns of the row.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check the invoice that came back in OnlyTax, then click Publish to switch the Zap on for new rows.
The OnlyTax action on Zapier
OnlyTax gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Invoice
ActionIn Zapier“Create an Invoice in the app”
Writes a new invoice into your OnlyTax account from values passed on by earlier steps. Five boxes are required: Activity Code, Description, Quantity, Unit Price and VAT (%). Two optional ones say whether it is a good and whether the operation is VAT-exempt.
When an OnlyTax Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to OnlyTax and lists no limit of its own, so the traps below are the general ones, seen through an invoicing Zap.
Since the Zap always starts in another app, most problems show up on that side before they reach OnlyTax. For the general checks, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Past sales are not billed
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows or orders that existed before are never turned into invoices; billing them is a separate job.A missing value stops the invoice
If one of the five required boxes arrives empty, Create Invoice does not go through. That attempt is not counted as a task, but no invoice exists either.A bulk import is held back
Pasting a large batch of sales at once into the source app can trigger Zapier's flood protection, which holds the items back instead of billing them all.The same sale is not billed twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so a row that already produced an invoice will not start the Zap again.
