Overview

What the Odeum Zapier integration actually does

Odeum runs a subscription video service under your own brand, with apps on the main viewing platforms. Plugging it into Zapier lets the life of each subscriber travel out of Odeum: who joined, who started paying, who renewed, who left, who agreed to marketing email. Each of those moments can feed your CRM, your mailing tool or your finance sheet.

Three results come up most often. A clean subscriber list in your CRM: Sign Up creates the contact, free trials included, and Subscription Conversion to Paid marks the ones who stayed. A consent-aware mailing list: Email Opt In adds people to your email tool and Email Opt Out removes them, so nobody gets a newsletter they declined. A churn log: Subscription Ended and Subscription Renewal write to a sheet, and you see who left and who paid again without exporting anything.

The limits are just as clear. Odeum on Zapier only talks, it never listens: there are no actions, so a Zap cannot create a subscriber, change a plan or cancel an account inside Odeum. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up a viewer in Odeum before acting. Every flow starts in Odeum and ends somewhere else.

Comparing platforms before you commit? The n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons set out the criteria (pricing model, hosting, step limits) without handing down a verdict. The Zapier review covers the tool itself.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words are enough to read everything below. Each one is explained once here, then used as is.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap, such as a new Odeum subscriber. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action that completes successfully; your plan is counted in those.
Polling vs instant
Polling means Zapier checks an app on a timer. Instant means the app calls Zapier itself the moment something happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that finds something already stored in an app so later steps can reuse it. Odeum offers none on Zapier.
Cost

What it really costs in tasks

Odeum is not a premium app, so it runs on the free Zapier plan. You pay in tasks, and an Odeum trigger never costs one.

  • Free plan100 tasks per month
  • Steps per Zap on Free2: one trigger, one action
  • Premium appNo
  • Odeum trigger typeInstant, all 6

The trigger is free; only the action that follows it in another app counts, once per success. A failed action is not counted. A Zap with three actions uses three times what a one-action Zap uses, so a renewal that updates a CRM, posts a message and adds a row costs three tasks. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap holds only two steps. Add a filter (to let only some renewals through, for instance) or a second action, and the Zap turns multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers; all six Odeum triggers are instant, so it does not apply to them.

Connect

Connect your Odeum account

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Odeum account linked once, then reused by every Zap step that touches Odeum.

  2. 02

    Pick Odeum

Search for Odeum in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Odeum side. You need an Odeum account with access to the channel whose subscribers you want to follow.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to Odeum in that tab and let Zapier reach your account. When the tab closes, the connection shows in your list and any Odeum trigger in any Zap can use it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: send every new Odeum subscriber to your CRM

GoalEach Odeum sign-up becomes a contact in your CRM within moments, trials included.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

In the Zapier editor, start a brand new Zap from scratch. Pick Odeum as the app and Sign Up as the event that sets everything else off.

  2. 02

    Connect and test the trigger

Choose your Odeum connection and run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent sign-ups of the channel, so you map fields from a real viewer.

  3. 03

    Add the CRM action

Pick your CRM and its contact action, then map the subscriber's name and email from the Odeum sign-up into the matching fields.

  4. 04

    Add a team alert

Optionally add a message to your team channel for each new subscriber. A second action makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the contact looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Only sign-ups made after that go through.

Triggers

The 6 Odeum triggers

6 events start a Zap when something happens in Odeum, and 6 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Subscription Conversion to Paid

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user converts their subscription to paid.”

Starts your Zap when a viewer moves from a trial or free access to a paying subscription. It is the moment a sign-up turns into revenue, and the one most teams want to see first.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
tag the contact as a customer in your CRM and drop a line in the sales channel, so nobody keeps pitching a trial offer to someone who already pays.
Watch out
viewers who converted before the Zap went live are not sent; only conversions after publishing reach Zapier.
2

Email Opt In

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user opts in to marketing email communications.”

Fires when a subscriber agrees to receive marketing email from your channel. That consent is the green light your newsletter tool needs before it can write to them.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
add the viewer to your mailing list as soon as they tick the box, so the welcome sequence goes out while the interest is fresh.
Watch out
pair it with Email Opt Out in a second Zap, otherwise your list only grows and never reflects people who changed their mind.
3

Email Opt Out

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user opts out of marketing email communications.”

Reacts when a subscriber withdraws consent to marketing email. The person keeps watching, but your newsletter must stop writing to them.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
unsubscribe the contact in your email tool, or flag them in your CRM, so a campaign scheduled for tomorrow skips them.
Watch out
the Zap removes nothing by itself; the action you add in your email tool has to be the one that unsubscribes, and it is worth testing with a real address before you rely on it.
4

Subscription Renewal

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user pays for their subscription renewal.”

Starts the Zap each time a subscriber pays for another period. Renewals are the quiet backbone of a subscription business, and this trigger makes each one visible outside Odeum.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
log every renewal in a finance spreadsheet, so the person closing the month sees who paid again without opening the Odeum dashboard.
Watch out
on a busy billing day many renewals arrive together, and each action that follows costs one task, so check your monthly allowance.
5

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new user signs up for a subscription to your Odeum channel. This includes free trials.”

Fires for every new subscription to your Odeum channel, and free trials count as sign-ups too. This is the widest net of the six, the one to start from when you want every new viewer somewhere else.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
create the contact in your CRM and start an onboarding sequence, then let Subscription Conversion to Paid separate trials from payers.
Watch out
because trials are included, a dashboard fed only by this trigger overstates paying viewers.
6

Subscription Ended

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user's subscription ends due to cancellation or non-payment.”

Triggered when a subscription stops, whether the viewer cancelled or a payment failed. Both cases land here, which makes it the trigger that tracks churn.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
move the contact to a win-back list in your email tool and add a row to the churn sheet, so the next offer reaches people who just left.
Watch out
a failed card and a deliberate cancellation arrive through the same trigger, so read what Odeum sends before writing a message that assumes the person chose to go.
When it breaks

When the Odeum Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Odeum, and no rate limit is documented for it. What goes wrong is general Zapier behaviour applied to a subscriber base.

Three general Zapier behaviours apply to a setup like this. Read them before you publish, and turn to the Zapier troubleshooting guide when something still fails.

  • Existing subscribers never show up

A Zap only reacts to events after it is switched on. Your current subscribers are not sent to Zapier; copying them over is a separate, one-off job.
  • A launch day gets held back

After a big promotion or a migration, a sudden wave of sign-ups can be slowed by Zapier's flood protection instead of passing all at once.
  • The second step needs a paid plan

On the free plan a Zap stops at one trigger and one action. A filter, a second action or a search makes it multi-step, and the editor asks for a paid plan.

FAQ

Odeum Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Odeum Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the free Zapier plan, because Odeum is not a premium app. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like. The real limit is the step count: one trigger and one action per Zap. As soon as you add a filter, a second action or a search, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. For a single flow, such as sending each new subscriber to your CRM, the free plan is enough to get started and test the idea.
02How many tasks does an Odeum Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the Odeum trigger. A Zap that creates a CRM contact for each sign-up uses one task per new subscriber. If the same Zap also posts a message to your team, it uses two. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. Watch billing days, though: when many renewals or conversions arrive at once, each one runs the whole Zap, and the task count follows the number of subscribers, not the number of Zaps.
03Do Odeum triggers work in real time?
Yes. All six Odeum triggers are instant: Odeum tells Zapier as soon as the event happens, and the Zap starts straight away whatever your plan. The polling intervals of the plans, from 15 minutes on Free down to one minute on Team and Enterprise, do not apply here. That is the most useful fact for a free plan user, since a new subscriber or a cancellation reaches your other tools without waiting for the next scheduled check.
04What does it take to connect Odeum to Zapier?
An Odeum account with access to the channel whose subscribers you want to follow. In Zapier, open the Apps page, add a connection, pick Odeum, sign in to Odeum in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is then reused by every Odeum trigger in every Zap, so you set it up once. If the channel account belongs to someone else on your team, ask them for access before you start building.
05Why are existing Odeum subscribers missing from the Zap?
Because a Zap only reacts to events that happen after you publish it. Subscribers who joined, renewed or opted in before that moment were never sent to Zapier, and nothing goes back to fetch them. That is expected behaviour, not a broken connection. If your CRM or mailing tool must start with the full list, plan a one-off export and import first, then let the Zap keep things up to date from the day it goes live.
06What if the Odeum operation you need is missing?
Then the integration cannot do it. Odeum on Zapier offers six triggers and nothing else: no action to create or cancel a subscription, no search to look up a viewer. Every Zap starts in Odeum and writes elsewhere. If the workflow needs to change something inside Odeum, the options are another automation platform with a different Odeum connector, if one exists, or a custom build. Check this before planning a flow that has to go both ways.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Odeum?
It depends on your criteria rather than on a single winner. Zapier already has the Odeum app ready, with six instant triggers and a quick setup. Make and n8n bill and host differently, and may suit longer flows with branches better. Before choosing, check whether each one offers an Odeum connector at all, what a multi-step flow costs on its pricing model, and who on your team will keep the automation running once it is live.
