What the OKAST Zapier integration actually does
OKAST runs your branded video-on-demand and live streaming platform. Linking it to Zapier means one thing: every time something happens to a viewer, an offer or a payment on that platform, OKAST reports it to Zapier, and a Zap (the automation you build there, made of one trigger and the actions that follow) passes it on to the rest of your tools.
Three results people usually build first. A live subscriber list: New Registration and New Subscription feed a spreadsheet or a CRM, so marketing sees each new viewer without exporting anything. A payment alert: Payment Failed and Payment Incomplete warn whoever handles billing as soon as a payment goes wrong. A content team heads-up: Admin: Job Status Done and Admin: Job Status Failed tell the editors whether an uploaded video finished encoding or needs a second try.
Now what it does not do. OKAST has no action and no search on Zapier, so a Zap cannot create a user, change an offer or look anything up inside OKAST. The flow goes one way: out of OKAST, into your other apps. If you need to push data into the platform, Zapier is not the route today. That limit matters more than any trigger detail when you plan a project; the Zapier review covers what the tool does well elsewhere, and the n8n vs Zapier comparison helps when the one-way flow is a deal-breaker.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event shows up.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier sits and waits for it to happen.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap finishes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant trigger is pushed by the app itself, the moment the event happens. Every OKAST trigger is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app so later steps can reuse it. OKAST offers none.
- Connection
- Your OKAST account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap and every step that needs OKAST.
What an OKAST Zap really costs
The OKAST side is free: a trigger never costs a task, however many sign-ups or purchases come through. You pay for what happens next.
- Trigger0 task, always
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- OKAST premium appNo, works on the free plan
Each action that succeeds counts as one task. A Zap with three actions uses three times more than a one-action Zap, and an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter (say, keep only failed payments above a threshold) or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. OKAST is not a premium app, so the free plan accepts it. The interval grid below only concerns polling triggers; OKAST's 18 are instant and fire straight away on every plan.
Connect your OKAST account to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an existing OKAST account first, with access to the platform whose events you want to follow.
- 02
Pick OKAST
Type OKAST in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab then opens on the OKAST side, ready for you to log in with the account that runs your platform.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to OKAST in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. The connection then shows up in your Apps list, and every future Zap reuses it without asking again.
Your first OKAST Zap, step by step
GoalEach new OKAST registration lands in a spreadsheet and triggers a welcome email.
- 01
Build the trigger
Create a Zap, choose OKAST as the app and New Registration as the event, then select the OKAST connection you made in the previous section.
- 02
Test it on real data
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent registrations from your account, so you map fields on a real viewer, not on a blank sample.
- 03
Add the first action
Pick the spreadsheet app, choose the row action and map the viewer details from the OKAST step into the matching columns.
- 04
Add the email
Add the email step and reuse the same viewer data. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan and costs two tasks per sign-up.
- 05
Publish
Test each step once, read what came back, then publish. From that moment, every new registration runs the Zap; earlier ones stay where they are.
The 18 OKAST triggers
18 events start a Zap when something happens in OKAST, and 18 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

Flags an encoding job that did not complete, the moment a video gets stuck between upload and catalogue.

Announces a new purchase on your platform, whether a viewer buys a title outright or rents it.
New Registration
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new user is registered to the platform.”

New Subscription
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a user subscribes to a new Offer.”
Tells you when a user subscribes to one of your offers, the recurring revenue signal of the platform.
When an OKAST Zap breaks
Zapier lists no OKAST-specific error, so the traps below are the general ones that hit this app in practice.
Most surprises come from timing and plan limits rather than from OKAST itself. The Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the fixes in more detail.
Past events never arrive
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Earlier registrations, purchases or subscriptions stay out, and moving that history is a separate job.A launch day floods the Zap
When a huge batch of events lands at once, for instance after a bulk import of users, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back. The Zap will not turn on
On the free plan a Zap holds two steps only. A filter, a second action or a search makes it multi-step and blocks publishing until you upgrade.Nothing goes back into OKAST
OKAST has no action on Zapier. A Zap that tries to update a viewer or an offer on the platform has no step to do it, whatever plan you pay for.
