What the OKZest Zapier integration does for you
The OKZest Zapier integration plugs OKZest, an image generation tool, into Zapier, which runs automations between apps without code. Each automation is a Zap. OKZest brings a single step to it, Generate Image: it takes one of your designs, swaps the content of its layers, and hands back a new image. Something in another app has to start the Zap.
Email visuals that carry the reader's name. A new contact lands in your list, Generate Image writes their first name on a banner design, and the next step drops the image into the email.
Social cards for every new article. A post goes live on your blog, and Generate Image fills a card design with the title and the cover picture so the social team gets a ready visual.
Product pictures that follow the catalog. A product is added to your shop, and Generate Image lays its photo and price on a branded template instead of a designer doing it by hand.
What Zapier cannot do with OKZest matters as much. There is no OKZest trigger, so nothing that happens inside OKZest can start a Zap. There is no search either: the Zap cannot look up an existing design or image, it can only produce a new one. And Zapier will not create or edit the design itself; that stays in OKZest.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words you will meet on this page and in the editor.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. OKZest has none, so the trigger always comes from another app you use.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started. For OKZest, that is Generate Image, the step that produces a picture for you.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is a count of these.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier checks the trigger app on a timer. Instant: that app calls Zapier the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What an OKZest Zap really costs
The trigger from the other app costs nothing, and neither does Zapier checking for new data. Each image that Generate Image produces successfully is one task.
- Trigger0 tasks
- Each image generated1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
A run that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and builds two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. A Zap that starts in another app and ends on Generate Image fits exactly. Add a filter, or a step that sends the image somewhere, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. OKZest is not a premium app, so the free plan accepts it. The interval grid below applies to the other app's trigger when it works by polling.
Connect OKZest to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open Apps and start a connection
In Zapier, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need an OKZest account, plus access to any design you did not create yourself but want the Zap to use.
- 02
Pick OKZest
Search for OKZest in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab then opens on the OKZest side so that you can sign in to your account.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to OKZest in that tab and let Zapier access the account. The connection is saved for good, and every Generate Image step you add later will reuse it.
Build your first OKZest Zap
GoalEach qualifying new row in a spreadsheet becomes a personalized image from your OKZest design.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Start a new Zap and choose the app and event that start it, here a new row in a spreadsheet. OKZest has no trigger of its own, so this step always belongs to another app.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from that app, so you can map real values into the image instead of guessing.
- 03
Add a filter
From the plus icon, add a Filter: the field to look at, the rule, and the value to compare. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers, or it never passes.
- 04
Add Generate Image
Add the OKZest action Generate Image, choose the Design, and pick Basic or Advanced. Map the values from the trigger into the layers, then test the step and read what comes back.
- 05
Publish
With a filter, this is a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan. Publish it to switch it on: rows added from then on go through, older ones do not.
The OKZest action: Generate Image
OKZest gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Generate Image
ActionIn Zapier“Generates a custom image from a design by modifying layer properties.”
Builds a new picture from an OKZest design by changing what its layers show. Pick the Design, then choose Basic, which shows only the main property of each layer (its text or its image link), or Advanced, which opens every setting of every layer.
When an OKZest Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to OKZest, and the source lists no limit of its own. The failures to expect are the general ones, in four cases.
Most problems come from the trigger side, since OKZest only ever runs second. When a run looks off, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
No images for the past
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Records that already existed in the trigger app get no image; generating those is a separate job.A Zap that restarts itself
If a later step writes the image back into the very place the trigger watches, the Zap fires again and again and burns through your tasks fast.Bulk imports held back
A trigger that suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, can be held back by Zapier's flood protection instead of generating every image.Duplicates on polling triggers
When the trigger app works by polling, Zapier remembers what it has seen, so the same record does not produce two images. If an image looks doubled, check whether two records came in.
