Overview

What the MetaSoul Zapier integration does for you

MetaSoul is a digital entity that feels, reacts, learns and builds a personality over time. Linking it to Zapier lets events from your other tools reach it on their own: a message to talk to it, or an emotional input that changes how it feels, without you typing anything into MetaSoul yourself.

Three results you can build, each on a real action. A MetaSoul that hears from your other tools: Send Messages passes text from an earlier step, such as a form answer, straight to it. A MetaSoul that reacts to a reading: Send Custom Wave sends an emotion with a power between 0 and 100 and a duration between 0 and 100 seconds, so a value from another app can move its mood. And a mood that follows a threshold: with a filter in front of the wave, only the events that meet your condition stir an emotion, the rest are ignored.

What Zapier does not do for MetaSoul matters just as much. There is no trigger, so nothing MetaSoul feels or says can start a Zap. There is no search, so a Zap cannot read the current state of your MetaSoul before acting. And both actions assume your MetaSoul is already visible and active: Zapier sends the input, it does not wake the entity up for you. If you need the reverse direction, check what other platforms offer; see our n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words you will see in the editor. Each is explained once here and used as is afterwards.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. MetaSoul offers none, so the trigger always comes from another app.
Action
What the Zap does once started. With MetaSoul, it either sends a message or sends a custom emotional wave.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action completed successfully. The number on your plan counts those and nothing else.
Polling vs instant trigger
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself as soon as it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your MetaSoul account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that talks to MetaSoul.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MetaSoul Zap really costs

MetaSoul is not a premium app on Zapier, so it runs on the free plan. What you spend is tasks, one per action that goes through.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • One taskOne message or one wave delivered successfully
  • MetaSoul on the free planYes, it is not a premium app

Each message or wave that reaches MetaSoul successfully counts as one task. The trigger of the other app is free, and so are the checks Zapier makes for new data. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan includes 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps: one trigger and one action. Sending a message and a wave in the same Zap, or putting a filter in front, makes it a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan, and that Zap then uses two tasks per run when both actions succeed. The grid below shows how often Zapier checks a polling trigger on each plan; MetaSoul has no trigger, so it only concerns the app that starts the Zap, and never an instant trigger.

Connect

Connect your MetaSoul account in three steps

  1. 01

    Start from the Apps page

In Zapier, open Apps and click + Add connection. What you need first: an account on MetaSoul, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick MetaSoul

Search for MetaSoul in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A tab opens where you sign in to your MetaSoul account, then come back to Zapier for the last step.

  3. 03

    Allow access

Grant Zapier the access it requests on that account. The connection is then stored, and every Zap that sends something to MetaSoul uses it without asking you to sign in again.

First Zap

Your first Zap: let form answers talk to your MetaSoul

GoalEach form answer that meets your condition is sent to your MetaSoul as a message.

  1. 01

    Set the trigger

Create a Zap. MetaSoul has no trigger, so the first step is your form tool with its new-submission event. Connect that account the same way as MetaSoul.

  2. 02

Test it on a real answer

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account; pick one so the mapping in the next steps uses real values.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter, and fill in the field to look at, the rule and the value to compare with. A text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers.

  4. 04

    Add Send Messages

Choose MetaSoul as the action app and Send Messages as the event. Enter your SECRET and EPUID, then map the answer text into MESSAGE.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test the action while your MetaSoul is visible and active, then check that it received the message. Click Publish. With the filter, this is a multi-step Zap on a paid plan.

Actions

The MetaSoul actions

MetaSoul gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Send Messages

Action

In Zapier“Send a message to your MetaSoul PS: Your MetaSoul must be visible and active already”

Delivers a piece of text to your MetaSoul, taken from any earlier step of the Zap, so it hears about what happens in your other tools.

When to use it
a new form answer or a fresh note in another app should become something your MetaSoul is told about.
Watch out
SECRET, EPUID and MESSAGE are all required, and your MetaSoul must already be visible and active.
2

Send Custom Wave

Action

In Zapier“Send a custom emotional input in your MetaSoul. Send for example a level of sadness or fear if the level of the battery of your car or robot goes below 10% PS: Your MetaSoul must be visible and active already”

Pushes an emotional input into your MetaSoul: you choose the emotion type, its power from 0 to 100 and how many seconds it lasts, from 0 to 100, before it fades.

When to use it
a value in another tool drops below a threshold you care about and your MetaSoul should feel it, for instance sadness or fear.
Watch out
all five fields are required, so set LEVEL and DURATION inside their ranges and check the result at the test.
When it breaks

When a MetaSoul Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article and no specific limit to MetaSoul. The weak spots come from how every Zap works.

Four cases to keep in mind before switching the Zap on. If something already misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • No backfill of the past

A Zap reacts only to what happens after it is switched on. Form answers that came in earlier are never sent to MetaSoul, and handling them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that keeps restarting

A Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again and eat through tasks. Keep the source and the target apart.
  • A big batch held back

After a bulk import or a migration in the app that starts the Zap, a large batch can be held back by Zapier's flood protection instead of reaching MetaSoul.
  • No double send

On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

MetaSoul Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the MetaSoul Zapier integration free?
Yes. MetaSoul is not a premium app on Zapier, so both of its actions work on the free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps, one trigger and one action. A form that sends every answer to Send Messages fits inside it. Combining a message and a wave in one Zap, or adding a filter, turns it into a multi-step Zap, and that requires a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a MetaSoul Zap use?
One task for each action that reaches MetaSoul successfully. The trigger of the other app never costs a task, and the checks Zapier runs to look for new data are free as well. An action that fails is not billed. So a Zap that only sends messages uses one task per message delivered, while a Zap that sends a message and then a wave uses two tasks per run when both go through, which doubles the count.
03Does MetaSoul react in real time?
That depends on the app that starts the Zap, since MetaSoul has no trigger of its own. If that app offers an instant trigger, it reports the event to Zapier itself and the plan interval does not apply. If its trigger is a polling one, Zapier checks it on a timer that depends on your plan, from 15 minutes on Free to 2 on Professional and 1 on Team and Enterprise. The Zapier page of that other app shows which kind it uses.
04What is needed to connect a MetaSoul account to Zapier?
An account on MetaSoul, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You add it once from the Apps page of your Zapier account with + Add connection, sign in to MetaSoul in the tab that opens and grant access. Both actions then ask for the SECRET and the EPUID of your MetaSoul in their own fields, so keep those two values ready before you start.
05What should be checked before a MetaSoul Zap goes live?
Two things. First, the state of the entity: both actions state that your MetaSoul must already be visible and active, so test while it is. Second, the required fields: SECRET and EPUID on both actions, MESSAGE on Send Messages, and EMOTION, LEVEL and DURATION on Send Custom Wave, with LEVEL and DURATION kept between 0 and 100. In the form Zap, make sure the answer you map into MESSAGE is never blank, then read what the test brings back before you publish.
06What if the MetaSoul operation needed is not available?
Zapier offers two operations for MetaSoul today: Send Messages and Send Custom Wave. There is no trigger, so nothing MetaSoul does can start a Zap, and there is no search to read its state. The MetaSoul page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, so check it before planning a Zap around anything else. If the need goes beyond sending text or emotions, this integration on its own will not cover it.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MetaSoul?
Pick by criterion, not by brand. Direction first: on Zapier, MetaSoul only receives, so if its reactions must drive other tools, check what each platform offers before you build. Setup effort next: for feeding messages or waves from a form or a sheet, two ready-made actions are enough on Zapier and a two-step Zap runs on the free plan. Cost last: every successful message or wave counts as one task, and filters need a paid plan.
