Overview

What the Opportify Zapier integration does

Opportify is a B2B data platform that uses AI to judge email addresses, IP addresses and phone numbers. On Zapier, it covers emails and IPs: you send an address, it sends back an analysis your next step can act on. Single checks run inline; large lists go through a batch job you track with a search.

Three results teams typically get out of it:

A cleaner CRM. Each new form lead goes through Analyze Email before reaching your CRM. With Enable Auto-Correction switched on, common typos in well-known addresses are fixed and the corrected address is analyzed instead.

A flag on suspicious sign-ups. Analyze IP Address scores the address a sign-up came from, so a filter can route risky ones to manual review rather than straight to onboarding.

A scored list, ready to download. Batch Analyze Emails takes a whole list, Find Email Batch Job Status tells you where the job stands, and Create Email Batch Export produces a CSV export you fetch through Find Email Batch Export Status. The same chain exists for IP addresses.

What Zapier does not do here: Opportify has no trigger, so it never starts a Zap on its own, and nothing happens in Opportify that a Zap can listen to. Phone insights, which Opportify offers elsewhere, are not among its Zapier operations. And a Zap only sees new data from its trigger app, never what was already there. To weigh other tools for this kind of flow, see Make vs Zapier.

Vocabulary

The Zapier vocabulary behind this page

Eight terms, each explained once, then used as is.

Zap
An automation on Zapier: a trigger, then one or more steps that run every time the trigger event happens again.
Trigger
The event that starts a Zap. Opportify has none on Zapier, so a form, a CRM or another app always supplies it.
Action
A step that does something once the Zap has started. Opportify's actions analyze an address or start a batch job.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan is a monthly count of tasks.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer; an instant one is reported by its app straight away. It depends on the app that starts the Zap.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only if the data meets your condition, for example a risk reading you set.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists, so later steps can use it. Opportify's searches read a batch job's status.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter, a search or a second action makes one, and a paid plan is then required.
Cost

What an Opportify Zap costs

Opportify is not reserved for paid plans on Zapier, so a basic Zap runs on the free plan.

  • Per address analyzed1 task when the action succeeds
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Paid plan needed forFilters, searches, extra actions
  • Opportify triggerNone, the Zap starts in another app

The trigger in the other app never costs a task. Each Opportify action that succeeds counts as one task, and one that fails does not count. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only: a trigger plus Analyze Email fits, nothing more. Add a filter on the result, a search for a batch status or a second action, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Since Opportify has no trigger, the polling grid applies to whichever app starts the Zap, if that trigger is a polling one.

Connect

Connect Opportify to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page, which lists every account already linked. Click + Add connection to open the dialog where you search for an app.

  2. 02

    Choose Opportify

Search for Opportify, select it and click Add connection. An Opportify account is required beforehand; the connection links an account you already have, it does not open one.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Opportify in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. Use the Opportify account you want the analyses to run on; every Opportify step of your Zaps then reuses this connection.

First Zap

Your first Zap: only verified leads reach the CRM

GoalAnalyze each new form lead's email with Opportify, then create the CRM contact only if the result passes your rule.

  1. 01

    Set the trigger app

Create a Zap and pick your form tool as the trigger, since Opportify has none. Connect it, choose the lead form, then test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent entries.

  2. 02

    Add Analyze Email

Add Opportify with Analyze Email, pick your connection and map the email answer into the required Email field. Leave the AI risk analysis on, which is its default.

  3. 03

    Test the analysis

Run the step once on the sample lead and read what came back. The AI risk score falls between 200 and 1000; note which value your rule should use.

  4. 04

    Add the filter

From the plus icon, add a Filter on the risk score with a number rule, not a text one. The filter makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan applies.

  5. 05

Add the CRM step and publish

Add your CRM's create-contact action, map the fields, test it once, then click Publish. Only leads that arrive after that moment are analyzed.

Actions

Opportify actions on Zapier

Opportify gives you 6 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Analyze Email

Action

In Zapier“Perform an AI-driven email analysis”

Runs an AI analysis on one email address and hands the result to the next step, including a risk score from 200 to 1000 when AI risk analysis is on. Domain enrichment is also on by default.

When to use it
a sign-up or lead form should be screened before the contact reaches your CRM.
Watch out
the address is capped at 320 characters, and auto-correction stays off unless you switch it on.
2

Analyze IP Address

Action

In Zapier“Perform an AI-driven IP address analysis”

Scores a single IPv4 or IPv6 address, for example the one recorded with a sign-up, and passes the analysis on.

When to use it
new trial accounts should get a second look when they come from a doubtful address.
Watch out
unlike the email action, the AI risk score is off by default here; switch on Enable AI Analysis if your filter needs it.
3

Batch Analyze Emails

Action

In Zapier“Submit a list of email addresses for asynchronous batch analysis. Returns a Job ID to track progress.”

Sends a whole list of email addresses to Opportify in one go and returns a Job ID, while the analysis itself runs in the background.

When to use it
an event attendee list or a purchased file needs cleaning before an email campaign.
Watch out
the results are not in this step's output; you read them later through the status search, using the Job ID.
4

Batch Analyze IPs

Action

In Zapier“Submit a list of IP addresses (IPv4 or IPv6) for asynchronous batch analysis. Returns a Job ID to track progress.”

Hands Opportify a list of IP addresses, IPv4 or IPv6, for background analysis, and gives back a Job ID to follow the job.

When to use it
a log export of recent sign-ups needs a risk pass in bulk rather than one by one.
Watch out
addresses can be added one by one with the plus button or mapped as a list from a previous step, whichever suits your source.
5

Create Email Batch Export

Action

In Zapier“Request a custom export (CSV or JSON) from a completed email batch job. Supports field filtering and column selection.”

Asks Opportify to package the results of a finished email batch into an export, CSV among the formats, with the fields and columns you choose.

When to use it
marketing wants the cleaned list as a file to import elsewhere.
Watch out
the batch job must be completed first, and the Batch Job ID has to come from Batch Analyze Emails.
6

Create IP Batch Export

Action

In Zapier“Request a custom export (CSV or JSON) from a completed IP batch job. Supports field filtering and column selection.”

Builds an export, CSV among the options, from an IP batch that has finished, keeping only the fields and columns you select.

When to use it
the security or fraud team reviews scored addresses in a spreadsheet.
Watch out
it only accepts a Batch Job ID produced by Batch Analyze IPs; an email batch ID will not work here.
Searches

Opportify searches on Zapier

4 search steps look for data that already exists in Opportify, so a later step can use it.

A search step looks something up and passes it to the next steps. Here, all four searches read the state of a batch job or of an export. In the editor, they sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH.

1

Find Email Batch Export Status

Search

In Zapier“Retrieve the status and download URL for a previously requested email batch export job.”

Tells you whether an email export is ready and gives back its download link, so a later step can send the file on.

When to use it
the cleaned list should land in a shared folder or an inbox without anyone checking Opportify.
Watch out
it needs two identifiers, the Batch Job ID and the Export ID from Create Email Batch Export.
2

Find Email Batch Job Status

Search

In Zapier“Retrieve the current status and download URLs for a previously submitted email batch analysis job.”

Reads where an email batch analysis stands and, once done, returns the download links for its results.

When to use it
you want to know a large list is finished before asking for an export.
Watch out
the batch runs in the background, so a status read placed right after the submission may still find it unfinished.
3

Find IP Batch Export Status

Search

In Zapier“Retrieve the status and download URL for a previously requested IP batch export job.”

Checks a requested IP export and returns its status with the download link, ready for the next step to use.

When to use it
the fraud team should receive the scored addresses file automatically.
Watch out
both the Batch Job ID and the Export ID from Create IP Batch Export are required; one alone is not enough.
4

Find IP Batch Job Status

Search

In Zapier“Retrieve the current status and download URLs for a previously submitted IP batch analysis job.”

Looks up a submitted IP batch and reports its current state, plus the download links when results exist.

When to use it
a bulk IP check feeds a report, and the report should wait for complete data.
Watch out
the Batch Job ID must come from Batch Analyze IPs; an ID from an email batch returns nothing useful.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and the steps that depend on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
This box turns a search into a find-or-create. Opportify offers no find-or-create variant on Zapier, so its searches only ever read.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When an Opportify Zap breaks

Zapier lists no help article for Opportify, so the failures below are the ones every Zap can hit, plus the batch logic of this app.

Most of them stay silent while you build. They appear later, as contacts that never got checked, an empty export or a task count rising faster than your leads. For hands-on diagnosis, see Zapier troubleshooting.

  • Old contacts are never analyzed

A Zap only reacts to what its trigger app reports after you publish. Contacts already in your CRM are not picked up; for those, a one-off batch is the separate job.
  • The status search finds nothing

A search that finds nothing stops the Zap by default. If a batch is still running, switch on the setting that lets the Zap carry on empty-handed, or check later.
  • A loop that drains tasks

If a later step writes back to the very place the trigger watches, the Zap sets itself off again and again, and every Opportify analysis costs a task.
  • A huge import gets held

When the trigger app returns an enormous batch at once, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it instead of analyzing everything.

FAQ

Opportify Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the Opportify Zapier integration free?
Yes, for a simple Zap. Opportify is not reserved for paid Zapier plans, so a trigger in another app followed by one Opportify action runs on the free plan, which allows 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps. Filtering on the risk score, reading a batch status with a search or chaining a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which requires a paid plan. You also need your own Opportify account to connect.
02How many tasks does an Opportify Zap use?
Each Opportify action that completes successfully counts as one task: one analyzed email, one analyzed IP, one batch submitted or one export requested. The trigger in the other app is free, and an action that fails is not counted. In a Zap with several actions, each successful one counts on its own. A few apps and actions use more than one task when they complete, so check the other steps of your Zap as well before publishing.
03Does Opportify work in real time on Zapier?
Opportify has no trigger on Zapier, so the timing depends on the app that starts the Zap. If that app's trigger is instant, the address reaches Opportify without waiting for a check. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks it at your plan's interval: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Batch jobs are another matter: they run in the background, and you read their outcome later with a status search.
04What does it take to connect Opportify to Zapier?
An Opportify account, plus access to anything you do not own yourself. In Zapier, open the Apps page, click + Add connection, search for Opportify and click Add connection. Sign in to Opportify in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is then reused by every Opportify step, which matters in a batch flow: the status and export steps need the Batch Job ID mapped from the batch action earlier in the same Zap.
05Why does a batch status or export step return nothing?
Usually because of the identifiers. Every status and export step requires the Batch Job ID from the matching batch action, and the export status searches also need the Export ID. Map them from those earlier steps rather than typing them. Also check the type: an email batch ID does not work in an IP step. Finally, the batch runs in the background, so a status read made too early can find it unfinished.
06What if the Opportify operation you want is not there?
On Zapier, Opportify offers six actions and four searches around email and IP analysis, with no trigger. Phone insights and any event that starts a Zap from Opportify are not available there. The practical route is to start from the app that holds your contacts and call Opportify in the middle of the Zap. If a missing operation blocks the process, another automation tool or a specialist can check whether the gap can be covered another way.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Opportify?
Decide on criteria rather than on a ranking. If you need emails or IPs scored as contacts flow between tools, Zapier covers that with six actions and four searches. If your flow needs filters on the score, status checks or several steps, budget for a paid Zapier plan, since anything beyond two steps requires one. If you need Opportify itself to start automations, Zapier offers no trigger for it, so check that point in each alternative.
