Pairfon Zapier integrationAutomate Pairfon with Zapier.
The Pairfon Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger and 1 action, with no search step. A text message landing on one of your phones can start a Zap, and a Zap can send a text from your own device and SIM, through your Pairfon account.

What the Pairfon Zapier integration does with your phones
Pairfon turns the phones you already own into an SMS gateway in the cloud: messages come in and go out through your own devices and SIM cards. The Zapier integration plugs those phones into your other tools, in both directions: texts in, texts out, nothing else.
Incoming texts that reach the right place. New SMS Received picks up every message on your connected devices and can copy it into a helpdesk, a CRM note or a shared spreadsheet, so nobody has to read the phone itself.
Texts sent by your other tools. Put Send SMS after a booking, an order or a form in another app, and the confirmation leaves from your own number rather than from an anonymous sender.
Simple automatic replies. New SMS Received, a filter on the content, then Send SMS back to the sender: a basic auto-responder built from the two operations.
What Zapier does not do here: there is no search, so a Zap cannot look up an earlier conversation, and there is no action for contacts, groups or device settings. Only text messages are covered. The trigger is polled, which means incoming texts wait for your plan's interval before the Zap moves. To compare other automation tools, see n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier.
Zapier words, in plain English
Eight terms come back throughout this page. Here they are in one line each, before you open the editor.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it, here a text arriving on one of your phones.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like sending an SMS.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. It asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens. Pairfon has none on Zapier, which is why the interval matters.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What it really costs in tasks
Zapier bills tasks, and only actions that succeed count. New SMS Received costs nothing, and neither do the regular checks Zapier runs on your devices.
- New SMS Received firing0 tasks
- Send SMS that succeeds1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Pairfon accessWorks on the free plan
Each Send SMS that goes through is one task; a failed one is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only, one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap needs a paid plan. Pairfon itself works on the free plan. The grid below sets how often Zapier checks for new texts, and so how long an incoming message can wait. Outgoing texts are not affected by it.
Connect your Pairfon account
- 01
Open Apps in Zapier
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your Pairfon account linked once, then reused by every step that needs it.
- 02
Pick Pairfon
Type Pairfon in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. The one prerequisite is an existing Pairfon account you can sign in to.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Pairfon in the tab that opens, then grant Zapier access to the account. If the Zap must use devices you do not own yourself, that account also needs access to them.
Your first Zap: an automatic reply to some texts
GoalReply by SMS from the same phone each time an incoming text meets your condition.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Choose Pairfon as the app that starts the Zap, then New SMS Received as the event, and select the connection you added before.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent texts received on your devices, so the reply is built on a real message.
- 03
Add a filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then fill the three boxes: what to look at in the text, a text rule, and the word to match.
- 04
Add Send SMS
Add Pairfon again as the action app, pick Send SMS, choose the device, map the recipient from the incoming text and write your reply. SIM1 is used unless you pick SIM2.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each step once, ideally with your own phone as recipient, then click Publish. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it runs on a paid plan.
Pairfon trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Pairfon. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New SMS Received
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new SMS message is received on any of your connected Pairfon devices.”
Picks up every text message that arrives on any phone connected to your Pairfon account and hands it to the steps that follow, whether that means filing it, forwarding it or answering it.
Pairfon action
Pairfon gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Send SMS
ActionIn Zapier“Sends an SMS message from a connected Pairfon device.”
Sends a text from one of your connected phones to the number you give, with the message an earlier step prepared, so replies come from a number your customers know.
When a Pairfon Zap breaks
Zapier's help center lists no error specific to Pairfon. The trouble comes from how every Zap behaves, and four cases are worth knowing before you switch one on.
Each card names the symptom and what to do. If a Zap still misbehaves after that, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Texts from before the Zap are ignored
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Messages already on your phones never start it, so moving that history is a separate job.Incoming texts arrive late on Free
New SMS Received is checked every 15 minutes on the free plan. An urgent text can wait that long before the Zap moves; paid plans check more often.Texting your own devices loops
A Zap that writes where its own trigger watches sets itself off again. A Send SMS aimed at one of your connected phones is received, starts the Zap, and sends again.Wrong SIM, wrong sender
Send SMS uses SIM1 unless you choose otherwise. On a dual-SIM phone, a text meant for your business line can leave from the personal one.
