Perfit Zapier integrationAutomate Perfit with Zapier.

The Perfit Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 10 actions and 3 searches. Perfit never starts a Zap: another app does, and Perfit receives the work. Here is what each step does to your contacts, lists and Drips, what it costs and what breaks.

Overview

What the Perfit Zapier integration actually does

The Perfit Zapier integration lets your other tools feed Perfit, the email marketing app, without code. Another app starts the Zap: a form, a shop, a CRM. Zapier then writes into Perfit: it adds or updates a contact, tags it with an interest, manages lists and handles Drip campaigns.

Three results come up often. A clean sign-up flow: a form entry goes through Create/Update Contact and lands in the right list, with no CSV export in between. Segments that follow behavior: Add Interest to Contact and Remove Interest From Contact tag people according to what happened in another tool. Campaigns handled from outside: Duplicate Drip, Modify Drip and Launch Drip copy an existing Drip, point it at a list and switch it on.

Now the limits. Perfit has no trigger in Zapier, so nothing that happens inside Perfit (a new subscriber, an unsubscribe) can start a Zap. A Drip cannot be built from scratch either: the actions copy, edit and launch one that already exists. And there is no action that deletes a contact, only one that removes it from a list and one that unsubscribes it for good. A deleted address still has to be cleaned up inside Perfit itself.

Before choosing a tool, the Zapier review is a separate read.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, in plain English

Eight terms appear all over this page. Here they are once, without jargon.

Zap
The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger's event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts a Zap. Perfit has none, so with this app the trigger always comes from another tool, such as a form or a shop.
Action
The step that does the work once the Zap has started. Here, it is what Zapier does in Perfit: add a contact, rename a list, launch a Drip.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that completed successfully. The allowance on your plan is a count of those, and of nothing else.
Polling vs instant trigger
Polling: Zapier asks the app for new items at a fixed interval. Instant: the app tells Zapier itself. The trigger app decides which.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it there otherwise, before Perfit is touched.
Search step
A step that looks up something already in Perfit, such as a list by its name, so the following steps can use what it found.
Connection
Your Perfit account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that touches Perfit in any of your Zaps.
Cost

What a Perfit Zap really costs

The trigger costs nothing, and neither does Zapier checking the trigger app for new items. A task is counted only when an action goes through, here each successful write into Perfit.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2 steps per Zap
  • Paid plan required for the appNo

A failed action is not counted, so a broken step does not drain the plan. A Zap that adds a contact and then tags it with an interest uses two tasks per sign-up. Perfit is not reserved for paid plans, so it works on Free: 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps, one trigger and one action. Add a second action, a filter or a search step and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect your Perfit account in 3 steps

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a Perfit account, plus read or write access on any list or Drip you do not own yourself and want a Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick Perfit

In the dialog, type Perfit and pick it from the results. Then click Add connection: Zapier opens a new tab where the Perfit side of the link takes place.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Perfit in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is saved, and every Zap step that uses Perfit offers it in a list instead of asking again.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a sign-up joins the right list, tagged

GoalEach form sign-up becomes a Perfit contact in the right list, tagged with the matching interest.

  1. 01

Pick the trigger in your form tool

In the Build stage, pick the form app as the app that starts the Zap and its new-submission event. Perfit has no trigger, so the Zap always opens on another tool.

  2. 02

Test it on a real entry

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the connected form account, so the mapping is done on a real sign-up, not on an empty shell.

  3. 03

    Find the list by name

Add Perfit with Find List and type the list's name. The search hands its ID to the next step, so nobody has to copy IDs from Perfit by hand.

  4. 04

Add the contact, then the interest

Add Create/Update Contact, map the email and the List ID found above. Then add Add Interest to Contact. Search plus two actions make this a multi-step Zap, on a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step once and read what came back before going on. When everything looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Sign-ups from then on run through it.

Actions

The 10 Perfit actions

Perfit gives you 10 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add Interest to Contact

Action

In Zapier“Add an interest to a contact.”

Tags a Perfit contact with an interest, found by its email or contact ID. The contact then falls into every segment built on that interest.

When to use it
someone downloads a guide or buys a product line, and your emails should know it.
Watch out
the interest must already exist in Perfit; Find Interest can fetch it by name.
2

Create/Update Contact

Action

In Zapier“Add a new contact to a list of your choosing. Can be used to update an existing contact too.”

Puts a contact into the Perfit list you choose, or updates it if the contact is already there. One action covers both the new subscriber and the returning one.

When to use it
every form, checkout or event registration that should feed your newsletter.
Watch out
List ID and Email are both required.
3

Create List

Action

In Zapier“Create a new list.”

Creates a new, empty list in Perfit. A name is all it asks for.

When to use it
each new event, cohort or product launch gets its own list, opened from another tool.
Watch out
creating the list does not fill it; Create/Update Contact still has to add people to it.
4

Duplicate Drip

Action

In Zapier“Duplicates a Drip campaign creating a new draft Drip. The new Drip is not sent until a Launch action is executed.”

Copies an existing Drip campaign into a new draft. Nothing is sent: the copy waits until a Launch Drip step activates it. An option lets the copy skip weekends.

When to use it
the same nurture sequence has to restart for each new cohort.
Watch out
the original Drip must exist; this action never builds one from scratch.
5

Launch Drip

Action

In Zapier“Activates a draft Drip to be sent on its launch date.”

Activates a draft Drip so it goes out on its launch date. This is the step that turns a prepared campaign into a live one.

When to use it
right after Duplicate Drip and Modify Drip in the same Zap, once the copy points at the right list.
Watch out
it works on a draft; test it on a Drip you are ready to send.
6

Modify Drip

Action

In Zapier“Modifies a draft Drip.”

Edits a draft Drip, and above all sets the contact list it will be sent to through Recipients List ID.

When to use it
a duplicated Drip has to target the list that was just created for a new cohort.
Watch out
it only touches drafts, so run it before Launch Drip, never after.
7

Remove Contact From List

Action

In Zapier“Removes a contact from a list.”

Takes a contact out of one Perfit list, found by email or contact ID. The contact stays in your account and in its other lists.

When to use it
a trial ends or a customer churns, and the onboarding list should no longer include them.
8

Remove Interest From Contact

Action

In Zapier“Removes a interest from a contact.”

Strips an interest from a contact, so they leave the segments that rely on it. It asks for the Interest ID and the contact's email or ID.

When to use it
a lead has bought, and the prospect interest should not keep sending them sales emails.
Watch out
it wants the ID of the interest, not its name.
9

Rename List

Action

In Zapier“Rename a list.”

Gives an existing Perfit list a new name, with nothing else changed: the contacts stay where they are.

When to use it
lists follow a naming rule tied to a season or a project, and the label must follow when it changes.
Watch out
a Find List step that looked for the old name will no longer find it.
10

Unsubscribe Contact

Action

In Zapier“Unsubscribe a contact. He/she will never receive another email from you.”

Unsubscribes a contact, found by email or contact ID. From then on, Perfit stops every email you would send to that address, on any list.

When to use it
an opt-out recorded in another tool, such as a CRM or a support desk, must reach Perfit too.
Watch out
this is not a list removal; think twice before wiring it to a broad trigger.
Searches

The 3 Perfit searches

3 search steps look for data that already exists in Perfit, so a later step can use it.

A search step creates nothing: it fetches a contact, an interest or a list already in Perfit so later steps can reuse it. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Adding one makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is needed. Whether a search wants the exact value or something close is up to Perfit, not Zapier.

1

Find Contact

Search

In Zapier“Search for a contact by its email.”

Looks a Perfit contact up by email and passes it on, so the following steps work on the right person.

When to use it
before removing an interest or a list membership, to check the person is really in Perfit.
Watch out
email is the only key, so the trigger app has to carry the address.
2

Find Interest

Search

In Zapier“Search for a interest by its name.”

Finds an interest by its name and returns it, ID included, to the next steps.

When to use it
Remove Interest From Contact needs an Interest ID, and nobody wants to copy it from Perfit by hand.
Watch out
a renamed interest breaks a search that still uses the old name.
3

Find List

Search

In Zapier“Search for a list by its name.”

Locates a list by its name and hands its ID to whatever follows.

When to use it
a Zap routes contacts to different lists, and Create/Update Contact or Modify Drip needs the matching List ID.
Watch out
after Rename List, update the name this search looks for.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
On apps that offer it, this box turns a search into a find-or-create. Perfit exposes no find-or-create variant, so its searches only ever find.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When a Perfit Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Perfit, so the problems below are Zapier's general limits, seen through this app.

Since every Zap starts in another tool, most surprises come from that trigger side, and from actions that cannot be undone. For a method when a Zap stalls, see Zapier troubleshooting.

  • Old sign-ups never come through

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Entries already sitting in your form tool are not sent to Perfit; importing them is a separate job.
  • Bulk imports held back

Import a big batch into the trigger app and the next check returns a huge pile. Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of pushing each contact to Perfit.
  • An unsubscribe has no way back

Unsubscribe Contact cuts that address off from all your Perfit emails, on every list. Wired to the wrong trigger, it silences real subscribers; Remove Contact From List is the gentler move.
  • A search that finds nothing stops the Zap

If Find List or Find Contact comes back empty with the default setting, the steps after it are skipped. A renamed list is the classic cause here.

FAQ

Perfit and Zapier: the questions people ask

01Is the Perfit Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the Free plan. Perfit is not reserved for paid plans, so a Zap with a trigger from another app and one Perfit action runs without paying. The Free plan gives 100 tasks a month. The catch is the shape of the Zap: two steps only, one trigger and one action. A form sign-up pushed into a list with Create/Update Contact fits. Add a Find List search, an interest or a filter and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Perfit Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing else. The trigger in the other app is free, and so is Zapier checking it for new items. A Zap that adds a contact and then tags it with an interest uses two tasks per sign-up. An action that fails is not counted against the plan. The bill therefore follows the number of Perfit actions in the Zap times the number of times it runs.
03Does Perfit work in real time with Zapier?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, because Perfit has no trigger of its own. If that app has an instant trigger, it tells Zapier itself and the Perfit action runs straight away, whatever the plan. If it has a polling trigger, Zapier checks it at a fixed interval: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. To start a Zap from Perfit itself, there is no way: nothing inside Perfit can act as the trigger.
04What does connecting Perfit to Zapier require?
A Perfit account, plus read or write access on any list or Drip you do not own yourself but want the Zap to touch. In Zapier, open Apps, click + Add connection, pick Perfit, then sign in to Perfit in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is saved once and reused by every Perfit step. Several actions then ask for a list, so that list must already exist in Perfit or be created with Create List.
05Can Zapier create a Perfit Drip campaign from scratch?
No. The three Drip actions work on campaigns that already exist. Duplicate Drip copies an existing Drip into a new draft, with an option to skip weekends. Modify Drip edits a draft, mainly to set the list it will be sent to. Launch Drip activates the draft so it goes out on its launch date. The usual pattern is to build one model Drip in Perfit, then let a Zap copy, target and launch it each time it is needed.
06What if the Perfit operation you need is not on the list?
Then this integration cannot do it directly. The list is closed: 10 actions and 3 searches, and no trigger. Nothing that happens in Perfit can start a Zap, and no action deletes a contact or creates a Drip from scratch. The workable route is to reshape the flow around what exists, for example removing a contact from a list instead of deleting it. When that is not enough, another automation tool or a specialist has to look at the case.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Perfit?
It comes down to criteria, not to a winner. On the Zapier side, the facts are clear: no Perfit trigger, 10 actions on contacts, interests, lists and Drips, 3 searches by email or name, and a Free plan limited to two-step Zaps and 100 tasks a month. If the flow only needs to feed Perfit from other tools, Zapier covers it without code. If it must react to events inside Perfit, check that exact point on the other tools before choosing.
