What the Perspective Zapier integration actually gives you
Perspective is a builder for mobile funnels: short, swipeable pages that turn a visitor into a lead. The integration lets Zapier listen to those funnels and push people into them. In plain terms, Perspective can start a Zap when something happens in a funnel, and a Zap can add a contact to a funnel.
Three outcomes are within reach with it. First, a lead alert: New Lead via Funnel starts a Zap every time someone leaves their details in one of your funnels, and the next step hands that lead to the tool your sales team lives in. Second, a finish-line signal: Visitor Completed a Funnel fires when a visitor reaches the last page, which tells you who went all the way, not just who started. Third, a contact list fed from outside: Create Contact adds a person to a chosen funnel from whatever earlier step carried their details.
Now the honest part. Zapier offers no search for Perspective, so a Zap cannot look up an existing contact before writing one. There is no action to update or delete a contact either: one action, and it only creates. And nothing that happened before your Zap was switched on gets picked up.
If you are weighing other tools, the same app has a Perspective Make integration page, and our n8n vs Zapier comparison sits next to it.
Zapier words, in plain English
Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here is what each one means, once.
- Zap
- Your automation on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier simply waits for that event to show up.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills you for: one action your Zap finishes successfully. Your plan counts tasks, nothing else.
- Instant vs polling trigger
- An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens. A polling one is checked by Zapier on a timer.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it everywhere else.
- Connection
- Your Perspective account, linked to Zapier one time and then reused by every step that talks to Perspective.
What a Perspective Zap costs you
Zapier bills tasks, and a task is one action that works. The two Perspective triggers never cost anything, however many leads come in.
- Perspective trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Filter or second actionPaid plan
So a lead that lands and gets passed on through one action costs 1 task. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is for polling triggers; both Perspective triggers are instant, so it does not apply to them.
Connect Perspective to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. Before that, make sure you have a Perspective account, plus access to any funnel you do not own but want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Perspective
Type Perspective in the search box of the dialog, select it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Perspective side, where the sign-in happens.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to Perspective in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is now saved, and every Perspective step in every Zap can reuse it.
Your first Zap: route qualified funnel leads into a second funnel
GoalEvery lead from your lead-magnet funnel that meets your condition is added as a contact to a follow-up funnel.
- 01
Build the trigger
Create a Zap, pick Perspective as the app and New Lead via Funnel as the event, then choose the funnel you want to watch.
- 02
Test it on a real lead
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real one instead of a blank example.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. This step turns the Zap into a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add Create Contact
Add Perspective again, choose Create Contact, pick the follow-up funnel, and map the lead details from the trigger into the contact. Keep this funnel different from the one the trigger watches.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and read what came back. If the contact looks right, Publish the Zap to switch it on. From then on, each new lead runs through it.
Perspective triggers
2 events start a Zap when something happens in Perspective, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Visitor Completed a Funnel
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new visitor reaches the last page of a funnel.”
This one waits for a visitor to reach the very last page of a funnel you choose, then starts your Zap with that visit. It separates people who finished from people who dropped off halfway.
New Lead via Funnel
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is created via a funnel.”
Every time a funnel produces a new lead, Zapier receives it and your Zap runs with that lead's details. Pick it when the lead itself, not the visit, is what your next step needs.
Perspective actions
Perspective gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new contact, probably with input from previous steps.”
Adds a new contact to the Perspective funnel you choose, usually filled with details an earlier step brought in, such as a form entry or a CRM record.
When a Perspective Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Perspective and lists no limit of its own for it. What goes wrong comes from the general rules of Zapier.
Three cases account for the surprises. If one of them matches what you see, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Old leads never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Leads already sitting in your funnels stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.The Zap keeps setting itself off
If Create Contact writes into the same funnel your trigger watches, the Zap can start itself again and again and burn through your task count fast.A big import gets held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import for example, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running them all.
