PPC training 2026: the 10 best PPC courses for professionals and teams

We compared paid PPC courses for marketers, freelancers and in-house teams: price per seat, live or on demand, hours, certificate and private options for a team.

The short answer, by situation. You want one solid day on Google Ads Search, in London or live online, with a next course ready for each campaign type: Jellyfish, £499 per person ex VAT. You are in the US and want live, project-based classes with a free retake: Noble Desktop, $650 for 12 hours. You are a DMA member, or need CPD hours: the DMA Pay Per Click Course, £349 for members. You want a small group of six to eight and help after the day: Media Training, from £349 + VAT with 28 days of helpdesk. You learn best at your own pace and want depth for little money: Modern Marketing Institute, about 24 hours of video for $249.99.

PPC (pay-per-click) training teaches you to run ads you pay for by the click, mostly on Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. The results for "ppc training" mix UK agencies that hide their prices, affiliate roundups that list mostly free courses, and vendor resources. This page covers both the UK market (prices in £, ex VAT) and the US market (prices in $), since many readers buy from either side; each profile says where the course is sold. We compared ten paid courses sold by training providers and agencies, on the facts their official pages publish: price, hours, format, certificate, and options for a team. We also tell you when the free Google and Microsoft courses are enough, and when they are not.

Best one-day PPC course in the UK

Jellyfish · Google Ads Search: Fundamentals

4.1/5

One day, from 10am to 5pm, on the building blocks of paid search: how PPC works, keywords and match types, bidding, account structure, ads and extensions, and how to optimize. No previous Google Ads experience is required. You can attend in person at The Shard in London or live online.

The day costs £499 per person ex VAT, and so does every course in the Jellyfish PPC and paid media range: Search Fundamentals, AI Powered Performance, Shopping, YouTube, Amazon Advertising and Digital Retail Media. That makes it easy to build a learning path for a team, one day at a time. Sessions run public or private: scheduled dates suit solo learners and teams of up to 4, and the private session is aimed at teams of 5 or more. You leave with a Jellyfish Certificate of Attendance, which is not a Google certification: plan to take the free Google Ads exam on Skillshop as well. The course page shows an average Feefo rating of 4.9 and "122 already enrolled". The category page also shows Jellyfish's Feefo service rating: 4.8 out of 5 on 162 verified reviews.

Standout features
  • A full paid media range at one price, £499 ex VAT per course
  • In person at The Shard or live online
  • Average Feefo rating of 4.9 on the course page, 122 already enrolled
  • Private sessions for teams of 5 or more
+Pros
  • ✓No prior Google Ads experience needed
  • ✓An easy next step for each person after the fundamentals
  • ✓Reviews verified by a third party
−Cons
  • ✗A certificate of attendance, not a certification
  • ✗Search only on this day: Shopping and YouTube are separate £499 courses
  • ✗No private session price published
Verdict

The strongest one-day course we compared for the UK market, and the best base for a team that will go deeper later. If you already run Search campaigns daily, skip to its Shopping or AI-powered courses instead.

Best live PPC course in the US

Noble Desktop · Google Ads Bootcamp

4.0/5

Twelve hours of live, project-based training from practitioners, in New York City, live online, or self-paced. The full tuition is $650. If one session does not stick, you can retake the course once for free within one year, provided the class is running with an empty seat: a rare guarantee among the courses we compared, but not a guaranteed place.

For a company team, the course page has a corporate section: Noble Desktop can build a custom program and run it onsite at your offices, sells group vouchers at a discount for its scheduled classes in New York City, and lets you send employees to its group classes. Team prices are not published: you ask its corporate team by email. You receive a verified digital certificate of completion. The bootcamp shows 4.8 stars from 19 students. Outside reviews are useful here: one notes that Google Shopping is not covered, and the school as a whole holds 4.6 on 373 CourseHorse reviews, including a learner who found it "not worth the dollar amount I paid". If your business sells products online, check the syllabus for Shopping before you enroll.

Standout features
  • Free retake within one year, if the class has an empty seat
  • 12 hours of live, project-based training
  • Three formats: NYC classroom, live online, self-paced
  • Verified digital certificate of completion
  • Onsite custom training and group vouchers for a company
+Pros
  • ✓Live teaching with real projects
  • ✓The retake lowers the risk of a bad week
  • ✓Clear, published tuition
−Cons
  • ✗Google Shopping not covered, as Noble's page states
  • ✗Only 19 reviews on the course itself
  • ✗No team price on the page: corporate training is on quote
Verdict

The best live option for a US learner, with a retake that makes the $650 easier to justify. E-commerce teams that live on Shopping campaigns should look for a course that covers it.

Best for CPD hours and DMA members

DMA · Pay Per Click Course

3.9/5

A one-day live virtual PPC masterclass, from 9.30am to 5pm, that walks through a campaign from start to finish: setting objectives, account setup and bidding, keywords and responsive search ads, Quality Score, conversion tracking with Google Analytics, remarketing, and reporting. It is the most complete single-day syllabus we compared.

The course is IDM-accredited and counts for 7 CPD hours (continuing professional development, the hours many UK marketing roles track). Members pay £349 ex VAT, non-members £549 ex VAT. If your company is a DMA member, that is £200 saved per person. The page does not mention a certificate.

Standout features
  • IDM-accredited, 7 CPD hours
  • Conversion tracking, remarketing and reporting in one day
  • £200 cheaper for DMA members
  • Live virtual, no travel
+Pros
  • ✓A full campaign cycle in a single day
  • ✓CPD hours you can log
  • ✓Low price for members
−Cons
  • ✗No certificate mentioned
  • ✗£549 ex VAT for non-members, more than Jellyfish
  • ✗Virtual only
Verdict

The best value for a DMA member, and the right pick if CPD hours matter in your role. Non-members get a similar day at Jellyfish for less.

4
Best small-group PPC course

Media Training · Google Ads Intro and Advanced

3.9/5

Two one-day courses, Google Ads Intro and Google Ads Advanced, each from £349 + VAT. Groups are small: up to 8 people in the room in Islington, London, or 6 online on Zoom. The Advanced course asks for the Intro or equivalent experience, so levels stay consistent.

What sets it apart is what happens after the day: 28 days of helpdesk to ask the questions that come up once you are back in your own account. You get a certificate of attendance. Private sessions are possible for a team. Media Training shows 456 reviews with a 9.7 out of 10 rating and 100% recommending, with comments like "Very clear, good recommendations of best practice". These reviews are published by the provider itself; we found no Trustpilot page.

Standout features
  • Groups of 8 in person or 6 online
  • 28 days of helpdesk after the course
  • Intro and Advanced levels
  • Private sessions for a team
+Pros
  • ✓A small group means real time with the trainer
  • ✓Support while you apply what you learned
  • ✓A clear two-step path
−Cons
  • ✗Reviews published by the provider, not by an independent platform
  • ✗Certificate of attendance only
  • ✗Two separate days to cover both levels
Verdict

The best choice when you want a small group and help afterwards. If you need a recognized certificate or CPD hours, the DMA course fits better.

Best self-paced PPC course

Modern Marketing Institute · The Ultimate Google Ads Course

3.7/5

About 24 hours of video across 91 on-demand lessons, taught by Isaac Rudansky, founder of the agency AdVenture Media Group. It costs $249.99 and comes with a certificate of completion and a LinkedIn recommendation.

The same instructor's Udemy course holds 4.6 out of 5 on 55,192 ratings. One caution: the course is titled "The Ultimate 2026 Google Ads Course", but the course page shows an older "Updated" date, and a review of the Udemy version says its footage was filmed around 2017. Google Ads has changed a lot since, so before you buy, check how recent the lessons on automated bidding and Performance Max are.

Standout features
  • About 24 hours and 91 lessons
  • Taught by an agency founder
  • Certificate of completion and LinkedIn recommendation
  • Instructor rated 4.6 on 55,192 Udemy ratings
+Pros
  • ✓The most hours per dollar in the ranking
  • ✓Learn when you want, as many times as you want
  • ✓A well-known instructor
−Cons
  • ✗Titled 2026, but the course page shows an older update date: check how recent the Performance Max lessons are
  • ✗Footage of the Udemy version filmed around 2017, according to a review
  • ✗No live trainer to answer questions
  • ✗No team option
Verdict

The best depth for the price if you learn well alone. Teams and anyone who needs answers from a trainer will get more from a live day.

Best budget one-day course in London

Diginius · PPC Training

3.4/5

One-day PPC training courses in Kentish Town, London, limited to a maximum of 6 people. The price is £375 + VAT per place, and Diginius also builds bespoke courses around your business needs, at its London training centre or at your own location, still capped at 6 people and priced on contact.

The only course the page names is Mastering Diginius Insight, which needs the Diginius Insight platform, its own software. Ask whether the one-day PPC course stays neutral on tools. The page we read publishes neither a detailed programme nor a certificate. Ask for the agenda before you book, so you know whether the day covers Search only or other campaign types too.

Standout features
  • Maximum of 6 people
  • £375 + VAT per place
  • Bespoke courses at your office or theirs, on quote
+Pros
  • ✓Very small groups
  • ✓Low price for an in-person day
  • ✓A tailored option for a team
−Cons
  • ✗No detailed programme published
  • ✗No certificate mentioned
  • ✗In person in London only on the page we read
  • ✗The only course the page names is Mastering Diginius Insight, built on its own software: ask whether the PPC day stays tool-neutral
Verdict

A good-value day in a tiny group, as long as you get the agenda first. Without a published programme, it ranks behind the courses that show theirs.

Cheapest starter course

AMA · Paid Search (PPC) on demand

3.3/5

A 4-hour on-demand course in 38 modules, delivered through MindEdge, with 90 days of access. It costs $149, or $119 for American Marketing Association members.

Its specific value is the credits: it is worth 4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain your PCM certification, the AMA's professional marketing credential. Without that need, the free Google and Microsoft courses cover similar ground.

Standout features
  • 4 CEUs toward the PCM certification
  • $119 for AMA members
  • 38 short modules
+Pros
  • ✓The lowest price in the ranking
  • ✓Short enough to finish in an afternoon
  • ✓Credits that count for PCM holders
−Cons
  • ✗4 hours: an introduction, not a full PPC course
  • ✗Access ends after 90 days
  • ✗No live trainer
Verdict

Worth it if you need CEUs for the PCM. Otherwise, start with Google Skillshop and spend your budget on a fuller course.

8
Best self-paced diploma covering SEO and paid search

Digital Marketing Institute · Search Marketing Course (Professional Diploma)

3.3/5

An online professional diploma in 10 modules, with about 27 hours of learning content. Three modules are about paid search: Paid Search Fundamentals, Managing Paid Search Campaigns and Generating Demand with Google Ads. The others cover SEO, content, analytics, data visualisation and search strategy.

You study on your own through the MyDMI platform, with live webinars, forums and tutor support, and you have up to 24 weeks to finish; DMI says the average is 8 to 10 weeks. Assessment is a single two-hour exam with a 60% pass mark, which leads to the DMI Search Marketing Specialist certification. The course page shows no readable price. To get it, click "Add to Cart" on the course page, which opens DMI's checkout with the pay-in-full and 3-instalment options, or use "Download Brochure" or the Contact page and ask for the price in writing. For several people, the page's business membership panel ("Save up to 50% with our Business Membership Plans") leads to DMI's corporate team offer.

Standout features
  • DMI Search Marketing Specialist certification
  • Presented as equivalent to UK level 5
  • Up to 24 weeks to complete
+Pros
  • ✓A recognised diploma rather than a certificate of attendance
  • ✓SEO and paid search in one programme
  • ✓Tutor support and live webinars
−Cons
  • ✗Only three of ten modules on paid search
  • ✗No price displayed on the course page: you see it at checkout or ask DMI
  • ✗Self-paced: no live day of practice on a real account
Verdict

Worth a quote if you want a diploma covering all of search. If you only need Google Ads, a one-day course goes deeper on PPC for a known price.

Best agency workshop for a team with a larger ad budget

Novi Digital · PPC Training

3.3/5

Novi Digital is a UK agency, shown on its page as a Premier Google Partner, that sells PPC workshops rather than a public course. In-person and virtual workshops start from £750 + VAT, run as half-day or full-day sessions structured around your business, and a one-hour consultation costs £350 + VAT. The page names topics such as high-ROI campaigns, keyword strategy and conversion rates, and says it prepares teams for the Google Ads certification exams.

The FAQ says the workshops are designed for experienced individuals and teams with a larger ad budget, so it is not the place for a first contact with PPC. The page shows 4.7 out of 5 on 32 reviews. No detailed syllabus or fixed duration is published beyond half-day or full-day: get the agenda and the final price for your group in writing.

Standout features
  • From £750 + VAT, in person or virtual
  • Half-day or full-day, built around your business
  • Premier Google Partner badge on the page
  • 4.7 out of 5 on 32 reviews
+Pros
  • ✓Workshops for teams of all sizes
  • ✓Run by an agency that manages Google Ads
  • ✓Google Ads exam preparation included
−Cons
  • ✗Aimed at experienced teams, not beginners
  • ✗No detailed syllabus published
  • ✗"From" price: the final quote depends on scope
Verdict

A good fit for a team that already runs campaigns and wants an agency to sharpen them. Beginners get more from a Jellyfish or Media Training day.

10
Best agency-led training for a whole team

Anicca · PPC training (bespoke)

3.2/5

Anicca is a UK digital agency that sells PPC training built around your team instead of a public course on a calendar. The training page says it scopes dates, format and fees with you directly, and delivers online or in person. The programme is assembled from five topics: an introduction to PPC, setting up Google Ads, keyword research, reports and planning, and a practical campaign build.

It is aimed at in-house marketers, business owners and marketing teams, at all levels from the first campaign to advanced optimisation. That is the format the top results for "ppc training" put forward for teams: an agency that trains your people on your own account. The trade-off is transparency. No price, no duration and no certificate are published, so ask for the agenda, the number of hours and the price for your group in writing, then compare with a Jellyfish or Media Training private session.

Standout features
  • Training scoped around your team
  • Online or in person
  • A practical campaign build in the programme
  • All levels, from first campaign to advanced optimisation
+Pros
  • ✓Built on your team's needs rather than a fixed syllabus
  • ✓Taught by an agency that runs paid search
  • ✓Fits a mixed-level team
−Cons
  • ✗No price or duration published
  • ✗No certificate mentioned
  • ✗Hard to compare before you have a quote
Verdict

The right call when you want an agency to train your whole team on your own campaigns. Ask for a written agenda and price first: without them, it ranks behind the courses that publish theirs.

By profile

Which PPC course for your role, team size and level?

By role

  • In-house marketer new to PPC (UK): Jellyfish Search Fundamentals, then Shopping or AI Powered Performance once you are running campaigns.
  • In-house marketer new to PPC (US): Noble Desktop, 12 live hours with a free retake, seat permitting, if you need a second pass.
  • Marketing manager who oversees an agency: the DMA course. Its day on Quality Score, conversion tracking and reporting gives you what you need to read and challenge agency reports.
  • Freelancer or consultant: Modern Marketing Institute for depth at $249.99, then the free Google certification to show on your profile.
  • Small business owner: Media Training or Diginius, a day in a small group, close to your own questions.
  • PCM holder: the AMA course, for the 4 CEUs. Our ranking of digital marketing courses covers the wider skills around paid search.

By team size and level

  • Complete beginner: start with Google Skillshop and the Microsoft Advertising Learning Lab, both free, before you pay for anything.
  • One person to train: a public course is enough. Count £349 to £549 ex VAT for a UK day, $650 for Noble Desktop's 12 hours.
  • Small team of 3 to 6: ask Jellyfish or Media Training for a private session, or Anicca for training scoped around your team, so the trainer can work on your own account.
  • Team with mixed levels: Media Training's Intro and Advanced, or Jellyfish's range, let each person start at the right step.
  • Remote team: DMA's live virtual masterclass, or Jellyfish and Media Training online.
  • You also run Bing campaigns: add the free Microsoft Advertising Learning Lab (Search, Display and Video, Retail) to any paid course, since most paid courses focus on Google Ads.
  • US team to train together: Noble Desktop's corporate training, onsite at your offices or with group vouchers for its NYC classes, on quote.
Buyer's guide

How to choose PPC training, and what to check before you pay

Before comparing syllabi, answer three questions: how many people you are training, which ad platforms you actually use, and whether you need a certificate, CPD hours or just skills. Here is what we noted while comparing the offers, and the traps that come up again and again.

Certificate of attendance is not a certification

Jellyfish and Media Training give a certificate of attendance; Noble Desktop and MMI give a certificate of completion. None of them is a Google certification. The Google Ads certifications are free on Skillshop: you need a score of 80% or more, the exam lasts 75 minutes, you can retake it one day later, and it is valid for one year. Microsoft Advertising has its own free certifications on its Learning Lab, with a "Certified Expert" status once you pass Search, Display and Video, and Retail. If a credential matters to your employer, plan the free exams on top of any paid course.

When the free courses are enough

Google Skillshop, the Microsoft Advertising Learning Lab, Semrush Academy, WordStream's PPC University and YouTube channels such as Surfside PPC cover enough to pass the certifications and run a simple account. What they do not give you is someone who looks at your account and corrects your mistakes, or a shared framework for a team. That is what you pay for in a live course.

Check how recent the content is

Google Ads changes fast, especially automated bidding and AI-powered campaigns. One PPC agency recommends choosing a course updated in the past 6 to 12 months. The Udemy version of a popular course was filmed around 2017, according to a review. Ask the provider when the course was last updated, and look for Performance Max or AI-powered campaigns in the syllabus.

Tailored agency training for a team: Anicca, Advansys, Novi

Several UK agencies rank near the top for "ppc training" with private training for a team rather than public courses. We ranked Anicca (10th), because its training page publishes enough to compare: online or in person, five topics including a practical campaign build, fees scoped with you. Advansys says its PPC courses are "tailored to you", online via Zoom or Teams, at its Wokingham offices or at yours, but it publishes only a taster of topics (keyword research, campaign structure, A/B testing, CTR, conversion and ROI), withholds the full syllabus for commercial confidentiality, and shows no price or duration: we could not score it. We ranked Novi Digital (9th): its PPC training page publishes in-person and virtual workshops from £750 + VAT, half-day or full-day, and a 4.7 out of 5 rating on 32 reviews. This format is worth it when the trainer works on your own account and your own campaigns. Before you sign, get three things in writing: the agenda, the number of hours and the price for your group, then compare with a Jellyfish or Media Training private session.

Memberships cut the price

The DMA course costs £200 less for members (£349 instead of £549 ex VAT), and the AMA course $30 less ($119 instead of $149). If your company already pays for a membership, check it before you book.

Private sessions for a team

Jellyfish runs public and private sessions, Media Training offers private courses, Diginius builds tailored courses on quote, and Anicca scopes its training around your team. In the US, Noble Desktop is the live option for company teams among the courses we compared: custom onsite training at your offices and discounted group vouchers, on quote. The other US courses here (AMA, Modern Marketing Institute) are on-demand courses sold one learner at a time, and we did not find another US provider publishing a live PPC course for teams with a price and syllabus we could check. A private session lets the trainer work on your own account and your own campaigns, which is worth more than generic examples. Ask for a group quote as soon as you have three or more people.

Budget for real ad spend

No course pays for your clicks. On UK business forums, practitioners keep giving the same advice: "start running campaigns on a small budget", because "the best way to learn PPC is just by doing it". Set aside a small test budget for the weeks after the course.

The Knowledge Academy, Simplilearn, God Tier Ads, Coursera: why they are not ranked

These four come up in the top results and in PPC roundups, and we looked at each. The Knowledge Academy's PPC Masterclass starts from £1,295 for a single day, two to three times the one-day courses ranked here, and we found no independent reviews to justify the gap; its course page also blocks automated reading, so we could not check the syllabus. Simplilearn's Advanced PPC Certification Training appears in PPC roundups, but its official course page did not give us a readable price or syllabus, so we could not check what you would pay or learn. God Tier Ads, Ed Leake's course, was bought for $595 by one reviewer, with a community at $395 a month, but we could not read a price on an official sales page. Coursera's Google Ads for Beginners is a 2-hour guided project sold through a subscription: fine for a first look, too short to train a team. When a provider publishes its price and syllabus, we can rank it.

Read roundups with care

Many "best PPC course" lists are affiliate pages that do not say so, and some providers hide their prices: we found placeholder prices on one institute's site and two different prices on the same page at another. Trust the price on the official page or on your quote.
  • Decide which platforms you need: Google Ads only, or Microsoft Advertising and others too.
  • Look for Performance Max or AI-powered campaigns in the syllabus.
  • Ask when the course was last updated.
  • Check whether a membership (DMA, AMA) lowers the price.
  • Ask for a private session quote from three people.
  • Plan the free Google and Microsoft certifications on top of the course.
  • Set aside a small ad budget to practice right after.
FAQ

PPC training: common questions

  • What is PPC training?

PPC training teaches you to run pay-per-click ads, mostly on Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising: choosing keywords, writing ads, setting bids, tracking conversions and reading reports. It comes as one-day classes, live bootcamps or on-demand video. The best courses end with you running a real campaign, not just watching screens.

  • How much does a PPC course cost?

Among the courses we compared, a UK one-day course costs £349 to £549 ex VAT, a US live bootcamp $650 for 12 hours, and on-demand courses $119 to $249.99. One provider charges from £1,295 for a single day, two to three times the market. Tip: a DMA or AMA membership lowers the price of their courses.

  • Is the Google Ads certification free?

Yes. The Google Ads certifications are free on Skillshop: Search, Display, Measurement, Video and AI-powered Shopping. You need 80% or more in a 75-minute exam, you can retake it one day later, and it is valid for one year. A paid course usually gives a certificate of attendance or completion, not this certification.

  • How long does it take to learn PPC?

One full day gives you the foundations of Google Ads Search, and 12 to 24 hours of course time takes you further (Noble Desktop, Modern Marketing Institute). The real learning comes after: practitioners advise running campaigns on a small budget straight away. Plan a few weeks of hands-on practice after the course.

  • Can my employer pay for PPC training?

Yes, and the courses here are easy to expense: a fixed price per seat, an invoice, and a certificate of attendance or completion. For a team, ask Jellyfish, Media Training or Diginius for a private session quote. If your role tracks CPD, the DMA course gives 7 CPD hours you can log, which helps justify the cost.

  • Can an agency train my PPC team in-house?

Yes. In the UK, Anicca and Advansys sell PPC training tailored to your team, online or in person, priced on quote; in the US, Noble Desktop runs custom onsite training at your offices. Tip: ask for the agenda, the hours and the group price in writing, and make sure the trainer will work on your own account, otherwise a public course costs less.

  • Are free PPC courses enough?

They are enough to pass the Google and Microsoft certifications and run a simple account. Google Skillshop, the Microsoft Advertising Learning Lab, Semrush Academy and WordStream's PPC University are all free. What they lack is a trainer who corrects your account and a shared method for a team.

  • Should I learn Microsoft Advertising too?

If your audience uses Bing, yes. Microsoft's Learning Lab is free and covers Search, Display and Video, and Retail, with a "Microsoft Advertising Certified Expert" status once you pass all three. Most paid courses focus on Google Ads, so the free Microsoft path is the simplest way to add it.

  • Live or on-demand PPC training?

Live training (Jellyfish, DMA, Noble Desktop, Media Training) gives you a trainer who answers questions and, in a private session, works on your account. On-demand (Modern Marketing Institute, AMA) is cheaper per hour and fits a busy schedule. For a team, live wins; for a disciplined individual on a budget, on-demand is enough.
