The best WooCommerce training in 2026: 5 courses compared for your profile

Curriculum, format, certificate, price: we compared the main WooCommerce courses in English so you can pick the right one quickly.

The short answer. If you write code for stores, take CustomizeWoo by Business Bloomer: 51 lessons on hooks, templates and PHP plus a final exam, included in the Business Bloomer Club, whose Company plan at $399 a year covers 5 seats and all of the Club's online courses (the Club page, not the course page, lists CustomizeWoo among them). If your company wants a live trainer for a group in one day, The Knowledge Academy runs it online or onsite, from $1,995. If you're a beginner who needs a certificate on a budget, the Coursera course by EDUCBA takes about 7 hours. To onboard staff or clients, WP101 has 35 short videos. If you'd rather have a live class that also teaches WordPress, ONLC Training Centers has a WooCommerce section in its $895 WordPress Level 2 class.

WooCommerce is the free ecommerce plugin that turns a WordPress site into a store. That's its strength and its learning curve: you manage WordPress, hosting and the plugin together. We compared programs, formats, prices, certificates and learner feedback for 18 WooCommerce courses and trainings. The one thing to know before you pay: there's no official WooCommerce certification. Woo runs a partner program for agencies instead, so every certificate you'll see is the provider's own.

Best WooCommerce course overall, and the best for developers

Business Bloomer · CustomizeWoo

4.0/5

CustomizeWoo is the course we'd put first for anyone who has outgrown the settings screens. It's built by Rodolfo Melogli, the WooCommerce developer behind Business Bloomer, and it's organized in 51 lessons across 7 modules, plus a final exam. You start with the fundamentals, then move to plugin and template files, hooks and child themes, CSS, PHP and hooks on the WooCommerce pages, conditional logic, custom fields and debugging, and a module of practical customizations. It ends with an exam and a certificate.

Hooks are the heart of it. Actions and filters are how you change WooCommerce without editing core files, and almost every serious store customization goes through them. Most beginner courses never touch that layer. The prerequisites are honest: you should be comfortable with WordPress, know basic HTML and CSS, and have a staging site. PHP isn't required to start.

On price, the course page doesn't show a standalone price. The course page points to the Business Bloomer Club instead, whose plans include the online courses with certificates (it's the Club page that lists CustomizeWoo and ConfigureWoo among those courses): $19 a month for one seat, $399 a year for a company with up to 5 seats, and $4,000 a year for the Sponsor tier with 15 seats. There's a 14-day refund window.

Standout features
  • 51 lessons in 7 modules plus a final exam, centered on hooks, actions and filters
  • Exam and certificate at the end
  • Company plan: up to 5 seats for $399 a year
  • 5 free lessons before you pay
+Pros
  • ✓The only course we found built around WooCommerce hooks by a recognized Woo developer
  • ✓Team access is cheap per seat on the Company plan
  • ✓You can try the free version first
  • ✓Lifetime access to the lessons
−Cons
  • ✗No total duration in hours is stated
  • ✗The certificate is Business Bloomer's own, not a WooCommerce or Automattic credential
  • ✗Reviews live on the vendor's site only; one reviewer found the free tier too limited to judge the paid course
Verdict

If you or your team write code for WooCommerce stores, this is the course to buy. If nobody on the team will ever open a functions file, start with Coursera or WP101 instead.

2
Best instructor-led WooCommerce training for a company

The Knowledge Academy · WooCommerce Training

3.7/5

The Knowledge Academy is the only large training provider we found with a dedicated WooCommerce course and a live trainer. The course runs over one day and covers 9 modules: introduction and installation, adding products (simple, variable, downloadable, CSV bulk upload), product organization, running a membership site with subscription products, shipping methods, getting paid (PayPal, Stripe and other gateways, HTTPS on checkout), checkout modification, orders and taxes, and theming with template overrides.

You can take it online with an instructor, self-paced, in a classroom, or onsite at your company. Attendees get a WooCommerce certificate from The Knowledge Academy at the end. There are no formal prerequisites, but knowing WordPress and some HTML and CSS helps.

The catch is the price. From $1,995 for a single day is a lot, and the outline reads like a generic tour of the features. We found no review specific to this WooCommerce course, so read the booking and cancellation terms before you pay.

Standout features
  • 9 modules in 1 day, from products to theming
  • Onsite delivery at your premises, or online with a live trainer
  • Hands-on labs included in the online instructor-led format
  • Certificate per attendee
+Pros
  • ✓A live trainer who can answer your team's questions
  • ✓Four formats, including onsite for a group
  • ✓Covers memberships and subscriptions, which many courses skip
−Cons
  • ✗$1,995 and up for one day is the highest price per hour in this ranking
  • ✗Generic outline, with no hooks or custom code
  • ✗Read the cancellation terms before you book
Verdict

Book it when a manager needs a whole team trained in one day by a person, and the budget is already there. For one learner, the price is hard to justify.

Best low-cost certificate for beginners

Coursera (EDUCBA) · Build and Configure an Ecommerce Website Using WordPress

3.6/5

This EDUCBA course on Coursera is the cheapest structured path we found that ends with a certificate. It has 3 modules: ecommerce foundations with WordPress (about 2 hours), product management and store customization (about 2 hours), and shipping, payments and order processing (about 3 hours). That's roughly 7 hours, at a beginner level, and it belongs to the Develop and Optimize WordPress Websites specialization.

You can enroll for free. The shareable certificate requires the paid track. The course shows 5.0 from 11 reviews. That's a small sample, so don't read too much into it, and a third-party note points to limited depth on advanced customization or coding.

Standout features
  • About 7 hours in 3 modules
  • Free to enroll, certificate on the paid track
  • Part of a WordPress specialization
+Pros
  • ✓Very low cost for a certificate a recruiter recognizes
  • ✓Covers the full beginner loop: products, shipping, payments, orders
  • ✓Short enough to finish in a week of evenings
−Cons
  • ✗Limited depth on customization and code
  • ✗Only 11 reviews, all 5 stars: too few to judge
  • ✗The certificate costs extra; the free track doesn't include it
Verdict

A good first paid step if you need a certificate on a budget. Once your store runs, move to CustomizeWoo or ConfigureWoo for depth.

Best for onboarding staff and clients

WP101 · WooCommerce video tutorials

3.3/5

WP101 isn't a course you take to become an expert. It's a library of 35 short videos in 6 sections: getting started with the setup wizard, store setup, shipping, payment gateways, creating products, and running your store. The first video is free, and the rest comes with the All-Access Pass.

The course page doesn't show a price, but the WP101 home page lists the All-Access Pass at $12 a month, $48 a year or $96 for lifetime access, with a free seven-day trial on the monthly and annual plans. The pass unlocks every video on the site, not only the WooCommerce series. We found no certificate mentioned. For onboarding, that's fine: the goal is that a new employee can add a product or process an order without calling you.

Standout features
  • 35 short videos in 6 sections
  • Built for non-technical users
  • First video free
+Pros
  • ✓Short videos a store manager can watch between tasks
  • ✓Covers the daily tasks: products, shipping, payments, orders
  • ✓Easy to hand to a client or a new hire
−Cons
  • ✗No certificate mentioned
  • ✗The pass covers all WP101 videos, so you pay for more than WooCommerce
  • ✗No code, no customization: not for developers
Verdict

Use it as an onboarding kit, not as a training program. It saves an agency hours of repeated client calls.

Best live class for a team that also needs WordPress

ONLC Training Centers · WordPress Level 2 (WooCommerce module)

3.1/5

ONLC Training Centers isn't a WooCommerce specialist: its WordPress Level 2 class has one section called WooCommerce for WordPress. That section covers what WooCommerce is, installation and setup, product types, creating a product and a product category, the cart page types, and shipping with basic shipping fees. The rest of the class is about WordPress itself.

The live class costs $895. It's scheduled over two consecutive days, from 10:00 to 4:45 Eastern, in ONLC's training centers or live from your home or office through its Remote Classroom Instruction. ONLC says it can deliver the class for your group. An on-demand version costs $395, with 180 days of access to 12 to 16 hours of content. The prerequisite is WordPress Level 1 or equivalent experience. The course page doesn't mention a certificate.

Standout features
  • Live trainer, in a training center or remote
  • WooCommerce section with hands-on exercises
  • Group delivery on request
  • On-demand version at $395
+Pros
  • ✓A real class with a trainer, booked and invoiced like any company training
  • ✓Covers WordPress and WooCommerce together, useful for a beginner
  • ✓Remote attendance from home or the office
−Cons
  • ✗WooCommerce is one section of a WordPress class, not a full course
  • ✗No certificate mentioned on the course page
  • ✗Requires Level 1 or equivalent WordPress experience
Verdict

Pick it when the person you're training needs WordPress first and WooCommerce second, and your company prefers a live class. For WooCommerce depth, CustomizeWoo or ConfigureWoo go much further.

Learning path

Learn WooCommerce: the path from basics to advanced

Paying first is rarely the smart move. Here's the order we'd recommend to a professional starting from zero, free resources included, and the point where a paid course starts to make sense.

01

Get comfortable with WordPress first

Prerequisite

WooCommerce is a plugin, so every course assumes you can install a plugin, manage pages and handle hosting. Some providers even make a self-hosted WordPress site a hidden prerequisite. If WordPress is new to you, start with our WordPress training comparison.

You need
A WordPress site and hosting
Best on
A staging site
02

Read the official documentation

Free

The WooCommerce documentation covers getting started, products, taxes, shipping, payments, orders, reporting, marketing and store design. It has no courses and no certificate, but it's current, which many courses aren't. Developers get their own docs on the developer site.

Try a free course before you pay

Business Bloomer's free CustomizeWoo version and its 5 free lessons show you whether the teaching style works for you. Free YouTube playlists and short free webinars from agencies fill the gaps. For a solo owner with a simple store, that's often enough.

Master the settings without code

Business Bloomer

How to choose your WooCommerce training in 2026

Before you compare syllabi, answer three questions: who pays, how many people need training, and whether anyone will write code. The right course mostly picks itself after that. Here's how we'd steer the most common cases.

You run your own store

Start with the free documentation and the free CustomizeWoo lessons. If you want a certificate or more structure, the Coursera course takes about 7 hours. Before paying for any cheap video course, check its last-updated date and its most recent reviews.

Your employer is paying

Employer-sponsored training usually needs an invoice, a recognized provider and a certificate of completion. Coursera certificates are familiar to HR. The Knowledge Academy issues a certificate per attendee and runs onsite sessions. ONLC sells live classes in its training centers or remotely. Ask your manager whether the company already pays for a learning platform before you buy a seat.

You're training a team

For up to 5 people, the Business Bloomer Club Company plan at $399 a year is the cheapest per seat, and the plan covers all of the Club's online courses with certificates; the Club page lists CustomizeWoo and ConfigureWoo among them. For a larger group that wants a live trainer in one day, ask The Knowledge Academy for an onsite or group quote rather than buying individual seats.

You're an agency

Split the need. Developers take CustomizeWoo; account managers and support staff take ConfigureWoo; clients get WP101 videos to run their store without calling you for every order or product.

You're not sure WooCommerce is the right platform

Settle that first: WooCommerce is easier if your team already speaks WordPress, and harder if it doesn't. Our ecommerce platform comparison and our guide to switching from WooCommerce help you decide before you pay for training.

Courses we didn't rank, and why

Udemy has WooCommerce courses, including Start Your Store Today, which ranks high in search. We don't rank them: each one is published by an independent instructor rather than a provider that commits to a schedule, live support or a company invoice, list prices move with frequent sales, and we found no fact on the official course pages we could check like the providers above. LinkedIn Learning is left out for an editorial reason: its WooCommerce topic page shows one course, Ecommerce Fundamentals, which covers ecommerce in general rather than WooCommerce, and its price sits behind a sign-in. We also looked for more paid trainers. 21st Century New Media runs a one-day WooCommerce class in St Albans for £195, but we only found it on the Reed course directory, not on a page of its own, so it isn't ranked. Yoco's Win With Woo page is written for small businesses in South Africa and now describes installing Yoco's payment plugin, not a course we could price, so it's out. OSTraining has published WooCommerce video classes, but we found no current price or update date to compare. TheeDigital runs a free one-hour WooCommerce session in Raleigh and by webinar, a good taster but not a course. Domestika's Joan Boluda course (21 lessons, 3h 52m) shows no price on its page and was last updated in 2020, so we left it out of the ranking.
  • Ask exactly what you get at the end: there's no official WooCommerce certification, so every certificate is the provider's own
  • Check the last-updated date: a course from several years ago may predate the block checkout
  • Ask which checkout the course teaches, block or classic, since some payment plugins don't support the block checkout yet
  • Look at the number of reviews, not only the rating: 5.0 from 11 reviews says little
  • Read the cancellation and refund terms before booking live training
  • Check the hidden prerequisites: most courses assume WordPress and hosting are already in place
  • For a team, compare the per-seat price of a company plan against a group quote
FAQ · 8 questions

WooCommerce training · FAQ

  • Is there an official WooCommerce certification?

No. WooCommerce doesn't run a certification exam for individuals; it runs a partner program for agencies instead. Every certificate you'll see, from Business Bloomer, The Knowledge Academy or Coursera, is the provider's own. Tip: on a CV, name the provider and the course, and link to a store you built. That says more than the certificate alone.

  • How long does it take to learn WooCommerce?

For the basics, plan a few hours to a day of training. The Coursera course takes about 7 hours and The Knowledge Academy's course runs over one day. Going advanced takes longer: CustomizeWoo has 51 lessons in 7 modules, plus a final exam. If you've never used WordPress, add time for WordPress and hosting first, because WooCommerce sits on top of both.

  • Can my employer pay for a WooCommerce course?

Yes, and it's usually simpler than paying yourself. Business training budgets fit company plans and invoiced providers best: the Business Bloomer Club Company plan covers up to 5 seats for $399 a year, and The Knowledge Academy runs onsite sessions for a group. Ask for a quote for the whole team rather than buying seats one by one.

  • Is there a free WooCommerce course?

Yes. The official WooCommerce documentation is free, Business Bloomer has a free CustomizeWoo version with 5 free lessons, and you can enroll in the Coursera course by EDUCBA for free (the certificate is on the paid track). For a solo owner with a simple store, free resources are often enough. You pay when you need code, a certificate or a team format.

  • Is WooCommerce harder to learn than Shopify?

Usually, yes, at the start. With WooCommerce you manage WordPress, hosting and the plugin together, while Shopify handles hosting for you. It's easier if your team already knows WordPress. The trade-off is control: hooks and templates let you change almost anything, which is exactly what CustomizeWoo teaches.

  • Are paid WooCommerce courses worth it?

A paid course is worth it when it's current and concrete. Ecommerce has plenty of hype courses, and learners on forums say so bluntly. A tool course with a detailed program, a stated update date and a clear audience is a different thing. Check the program module by module before you pay.

  • Which WooCommerce course is best for developers?

Business Bloomer's CustomizeWoo. It's the only course we found built around hooks, actions and filters, template files, conditional logic and debugging, by a recognized WooCommerce developer. PHP isn't required to start, but you need WordPress, basic HTML and CSS, and a staging site.

  • What should a WooCommerce course cover in 2026?

At least products and variations, shipping, payment gateways, taxes, orders and theming. One point to check: WooCommerce now uses a block-based checkout, while many stores still run the classic one, and some payment plugins only support the classic version. A good course says which one it teaches.
