What is the best customer experience software in 2026?

The one that listens on every channel your customers use and reads their comments for you. For an enterprise, that's Qualtrics XM. For a mid-size team with stores or field locations, Zonka Feedback gets you most of the way for far less.

Customer experience software, often sold as a voice of customer (VoC) platform, does more than send surveys. It pulls together everything customers say about you: post-purchase surveys, public reviews, support tickets, calls and chats. Then it reads thousands of open-text comments, sorts them by topic and sentiment, and alerts the right team when someone is unhappy. That last part is what separates a VoC platform from a survey tool with a new label.

We compared six platforms on that central question: how many channels they really listen to, what their AI does with free text, and what you pay once implementation is included. If all you need is a Net Promoter Score, an enterprise suite is overkill: our ranking of NPS software covers lighter tools.

How we ranked

How we compared and ranked

Almost every top result for this search is written by a vendor that ranks itself first. They list ten to fifteen tools, rarely show a price, and treat survey builders and help desks as if they were VoC platforms. None of them puts a number on total cost, and none checks whether the AI actually understands feedback written in a language other than English.

We read each tool's official product and pricing pages, then public customer reviews and buyer reports. The central test is simple: does it hear every channel, and does it read the comments? A tool with no text analytics and no collection outside its own surveys can't rank above fifth. It's a good survey tool, not a voice of customer platform.

The rank follows that test. The score out of 5 is the one each tool carries on every Labs page, built on our shared grid (ease of use, value, depth, support, integrations). That's why a cheap, well-made survey tool can score higher than a suite and still rank lower here.

1
Best customer experience software for enterprises

Qualtrics XM

4.0/5

Qualtrics XM is the broadest suite on the market. Its CX side goes well past surveys: Frontline Care combines omnichannel analytics and generative AI to personalize each customer interaction. Survey results, support conversations and behavioral data can all land in the same dashboards.

You won't find a price. Qualtrics bills on "interactions" (a data record collected or processed by the platform) and says you only pay for what you plan to use. In practice that means a custom quote and a budget you negotiate line by line. Its online terms cap renewal increases at 5% unless notice is given. Get that clause in writing.

User feedback is consistent. People respect the power but find it complex if they only need basic surveys, there's a real learning curve, and pricing runs higher than lighter tools. Some say support pointed them to a third-party firm. Two market moves matter too: Qualtrics bought Press Ganey Forsta for $6.75 billion, which brought InMoment under its roof, and it shut down Delighted, its low-cost NPS tool, in 2026.

Standout features
  • Frontline Care: omnichannel analytics plus generative AI
  • Billed on interactions, no public price
  • Renewal increase capped at 5% unless notice
+Pros
  • ✓Widest coverage in the category
  • ✓Surveys, support data and analytics in one place
  • ✓Dashboards for every level of the company
−Cons
  • ✗No price before a quote
  • ✗Hard to run without a dedicated owner
  • ✗No low-budget option since Delighted closed
Verdict

The safest bet for a company-wide VoC program, as long as someone owns it. For a small business it's too much: look at Zonka or Survicate. Ask exactly how interactions are counted, and get the renewal cap in the contract.

Best for hearing every channel at one price

Medallia

3.9/5

Medallia is the other heavyweight, and its pricing page makes the pitch. You pay on one metric, the Experience Data Record, priced in annual tiers, without being charged separately for each channel. Text Analytics, Speech and Medallia AI are part of the analytics package. Medallia even calls per-response or per-user pricing obsolete.

For a contact center that's a big deal. Transcribing and analyzing thousands of calls is usually the priciest add-on elsewhere; here it's in the base. The exact price is still a conversation with sales.

The catch is implementation and reliance on services. Public reviews describe a tough rollout, reporting that's hard to build and an intimidating learning curve without analytics experience. One reviewer says the model is built around selling consulting, even for something as simple as adding a new touchpoint. Medallia also changed hands in 2026, when its private equity owner passed it to its lenders. Nothing changes for you tomorrow, but ask about the roadmap before a three-year deal.

Standout features
  • No per-channel charges
  • Text and speech analytics included
  • Single metric, annual tiers
+Pros
  • ✓Strong for analyzing calls and chats at scale
  • ✓Pricing model easier to forecast than per-channel fees
  • ✓Analytics depth on par with Qualtrics
−Cons
  • ✗Long, costly implementation
  • ✗Small changes often go through consultants
  • ✗Ownership change in 2026
Verdict

Pick it if your customers mostly reach you by phone and chat and you can fund a guided rollout. Have implementation quoted separately, and ask what adding a touchpoint costs after launch.

Best for stores, field teams and mid-market

Zonka Feedback

4.2/5

Zonka Feedback is the most affordable tool here that truly covers the field. It collects by email, SMS, WhatsApp, links, digital channels and offline, meaning a tablet or kiosk that works without a connection. That's rare outside enterprise suites, and it's why Zonka beats Hello Customer and Survicate for most US mid-market teams.

Pricing is split in two. Feedback Management is priced on the number of responses. AI Feedback Intelligence, sold separately in data credits, analyzes open-text feedback to surface sentiment, themes and patterns. You need a quote, but a 14-day free trial lets you judge first.

Public reviews are strong overall, with a few harsh comments about service. It's our pick when Qualtrics is out of budget and you have locations to cover.

Standout features
  • Email, SMS, WhatsApp, offline kiosk
  • AI analysis of open-text feedback as an add-on
  • 14-day free trial
+Pros
  • ✓Most field channels outside enterprise suites
  • ✓Themes and sentiment available
  • ✓Full trial before a sales call
−Cons
  • ✗Quote-based despite its size
  • ✗AI analysis billed separately in credits
  • ✗A few tough reviews on support
Verdict

The best middle ground for a business with stores, branches or service visits. Work out your monthly response volume before the call, and ask how many AI credits one month of comments will burn.

Best for multilingual feedback analysis

Hello Customer

3.9/5

Hello Customer is a Belgian vendor, built in Belgium and hosted in Europe. Of all the tools here, it's the one most focused on reading text. Its AI, ISAAC, reads free text in more than 30 languages at five levels of depth, and it's native in Dutch, French and German. If you sell across Europe, that's the point that matters.

Collection is omnichannel: surveys, reviews, calls, customer support and your app come into one place, with self-service integrations. The platform sends predictive alerts on at-risk customers and helps close the loop. It also offers an MCP server, so you can plug its data into an AI assistant.

Public reviews praise how easy it is to use, integrations included, and the quality of the insights. The limit they mention: it's weaker on long surveys. And like the US suites, there's no price until you book a demo.

Standout features
  • ISAAC AI native in Dutch, French and German
  • 30+ languages at five levels of depth
  • Built in Belgium, hosted in Europe
+Pros
  • ✓Best multilingual text analysis in this ranking
  • ✓Omnichannel hub with predictive alerts
  • ✓Easier to pick up than the big suites
−Cons
  • ✗No published price
  • ✗Less suited to long surveys
  • ✗Demo required before any number
Verdict

The pick for a company selling across European markets where feedback analysis is the heart of the project. In the demo, have it read an export of your own comments, not its samples.

Best VoC tool with a published price

Survicate

3.9/5

Survicate is the first tool in this ranking with prices on its site, and that helps when you have to defend a budget. A free plan to start, Starter at $89 a month, and plans up to $569 a month. It collects through email and links, website pop-ups and in-product surveys.

The strong point for VoC: AI categorization of text answers is included from Starter. AI sentiment only comes with Pro and Enterprise. So you can sort comments by topic without paying top tier, but you won't know whether they're positive or negative.

The limit is channels. Survicate doesn't read your public reviews, calls or tickets, and small plans have a response cap that bites as you grow. Reviews are very good, especially from small companies. Read our full Survicate review and our breakdown of Survicate pricing.

Standout features
  • AI categorization of text answers from Starter
  • Web, in-app, email and link
  • Free plan to start
+Pros
  • ✓Published price, budget known upfront
  • ✓Very easy to install on a site or product
  • ✓Good support according to reviews
−Cons
  • ✗Sentiment only on Pro and Enterprise
  • ✗No review, call or ticket collection
  • ✗Tight response cap on small plans
Verdict

A solid first step toward VoC for a digital business. If you also need stores, calls or reviews, you'll outgrow it. Torn between it and SurveyMonkey? See our SurveyMonkey vs Survicate comparison.

Cheapest way to replace Delighted

SatisMeter

4.1/5

SatisMeter is the cheapest tool here with public pricing: free up to 25 responses a month, then $199 a month for 1,000 responses, and Enterprise on request above 10,000 active users. It collects on web, in-app, email, iOS and Android. Annual billing gives a 10% discount.

One rare trait: go over your quota and you pay nothing extra. Surveys simply pause. Add throttling and sampling (surveying only part of your users) and your budget stays exactly where you set it. For a former Delighted customer looking for a simple, priced tool, it's the closest fit.

Why sixth, with a good score? Because we found no AI text analytics on its official pages, and it only hears your own surveys. It's an excellent companion tool, not a full VoC platform.

Standout features
  • Surveys pause at quota, no overage fees
  • Web, in-app, email, iOS and Android
  • Free up to 25 responses a month
+Pros
  • ✓Lowest published price
  • ✓No surprise bills
  • ✓Sampling to stay within quota
−Cons
  • ✗No AI text analytics found in the offer
  • ✗No review, call or ticket collection
  • ✗Built for digital products only
Verdict

A good choice for a SaaS product starting to listen, or for a Delighted refugee who wants a clear price. Turn on sampling on day one so you don't burn the quota in a week.

Four more tools worth knowing

These come up in comparisons and buyer conversations. Either we couldn't read enough official facts to score them, or they're survey tools rather than VoC platforms.

01

InMoment: now part of the Qualtrics group

Quote

InMoment is a CX platform known for dashboards that go down to store level. It now belongs to the Qualtrics group after the Press Ganey Forsta deal. Reviewers call it powerful but expensive, with customization that needs technical skills, and one user says a simple filter or survey change can take months. No official price is published. If you're a customer, ask about the roadmap.

Chattermill, Thematic, Enterpret: AI-first feedback analytics

Quote

A newer group of tools skips collection and focuses on analyzing feedback you already have (reviews, tickets, survey exports). We didn't read their official pages for this ranking, so they're listed without a score or price. Worth a look if your channels are already covered and reading the comments is the bottleneck.

Best for
Teams drowning in existing feedback
Limit

03

QuestionPro CX: a survey tool going platform

Quote

QuestionPro is known for surveys and sells a dedicated CX offer. Its pricing page sends you to sales for that plan. It tends to rank itself first in its own comparisons, so read those with the author in mind.

Best for
Teams already on its surveys
Limit

04

Hotjar, Typeform, SurveyMonkey: survey tools, not full listening

Public price

All three show up in VoC roundups. They're great at asking questions, but none reads your reviews, tickets or calls. Hotjar (score 4.1) pairs on-site behavior with surveys from $49 a month ($39 billed yearly), with surveys separately from $79. Typeform (3.8) starts at $39 a month ($28 billed yearly) for 100 responses. SurveyMonkey (3.5) costs $149 a month on its only monthly plan, or $468 to $1,668 a year. What makes a real voice of customer program

Plenty of survey tools now call themselves VoC platforms. The difference shows up on three points. A tool that checks none of them is a questionnaire, however polished.

It listens where customers already talk

A survey only hears people who answer it. Your angriest customers post a review, call support or open a ticket. A VoC platform brings those sources together: Hello Customer pulls in surveys, reviews, calls and support; Medallia charges nothing extra per channel. Count the channels actually connected, not the ones on the brochure.

It reads the comments for you

Past a few hundred comments a month, nobody reads them all. AI text analytics sorts them by topic (shipping, price, staff) and sentiment. Check which plan includes it: Survicate has topic categorization in Starter but sentiment only in Pro; Zonka sells AI as a separate product, in credits.

It closes the loop

Asking and never answering does more damage than not asking. A real platform alerts the right person when a customer is unhappy, helps them reply and tracks the follow-up. Hello Customer's predictive alerts point that way. Ask to see what actually happens after a 2 out of 10.
  • List your current channels (surveys, reviews, tickets, calls) before the first demo.
  • Check the AI on your own comments, in every language you receive.
  • Ask which plan includes sentiment, not just topics.
  • Have them show you a real alert and the reply that follows.
  • If you only need an NPS score, buy something lighter.
True cost

Why the suites publish no prices

Qualtrics, Medallia, Hello Customer and Zonka publish no amounts. That's deliberate: the price depends on your volume, your channels and how hard you negotiate. Here's what to know before the sales call.

Every vendor counts something different

Qualtrics counts interactions, Medallia counts Experience Data Records in annual tiers, Zonka counts responses plus AI credits, Survicate and SatisMeter count monthly responses. Two quotes don't compare at first glance. Ask each vendor how many units one month of your real activity represents, then compare the price for that same month.

The license is only part of the bill

With suites, implementation, services and consultants weigh heavily. Reviews of Medallia and InMoment come back to this again and again: every new touchpoint or survey change goes through a services team. Get those lines quoted separately, with a number of days, before you sign.

Renewal is negotiated at signing

Once your data and teams are set up, switching is expensive, and the vendor knows it. Qualtrics' online terms cap renewal increases at 5% unless notice is given. Get a cap like that into your contract, whatever the vendor, and ask to remove auto-renewal.
  • Ask for a line-by-line quote: license, units counted, services, implementation.
  • Translate the billing unit into real monthly volume.
  • Get a written cap on renewal increases.
  • Ask to remove auto-renewal.
  • On a priced plan, check what happens past the quota.
Field tips

Six moves before you sign a VoC platform

What buyers who've already built a voice of customer program wish they'd known. Works with any tool.

01

Run 500 real comments through the demo

Before signing

Demos always show clean, well-written feedback. Export 500 real comments from your customers, typos and slang included, and ask the vendor to run them through its AI during the trial or demo. See whether the topics it finds make sense for your business. It's the only way to know the analysis works on your data.

Benchmark
500 real, uncleaned comments
02

Get a line-by-line quote

Negotiation

A single total hides services and setup. Ask for the breakdown: license, units counted (interactions, records, responses), services, implementation days, training. You'll see what's negotiable and what comes back every year.

Benchmark
License, units, services, setup split out
03

Put a renewal cap in writing

Contract

The renewal increase is the cost everyone forgets. Qualtrics caps its own at 5% in its online terms, unless notice is given. Use that number as your benchmark with every vendor, and ask to remove auto-renewal so you can walk at term end.

Benchmark
Increase capped at 5% a year
04

On a small plan, manage your quota

Published price

Priced tools cap your responses. SatisMeter pauses surveys past the quota with no bill, so turn on throttling and sampling to survey only part of your users. On Survicate, AI categorization is already in Starter: no need to jump to Pro if topics are enough.

Delighted, Qualtrics' NPS tool, shut down in 2026 and its data is deleted after closure. Export is CSV, project by project, with no migration help. Get everything out, then move to a priced tool like SatisMeter or Survicate rather than the suite you're steered toward. Our guide to leaving Qualtrics covers the alternatives.

FAQ · 8 questions

Customer experience software · FAQ

  • What is a voice of customer platform?
It's software that gathers everything customers say about you (surveys, reviews, tickets, calls, chats), analyzes it and routes it to the right team. Compared with a survey tool, it adds two things: listening on channels where customers speak unprompted, and automatic analysis of open text by topic and sentiment. Qualtrics, Medallia and Hello Customer are the most complete examples.
  • What's the best VoC tool for a small business?
Survicate or Zonka Feedback, not an enterprise suite. Survicate has a free plan and starts at $89 a month, with AI categorization of text answers included. Zonka adds SMS, WhatsApp and offline kiosks with a 14-day free trial, on a quote. A suite will cost more in setup than it returns until you have thousands of comments a month.
  • Qualtrics vs Medallia: which should you pick?
Qualtrics for the broadest platform, Medallia if your customers mostly talk to you by phone and chat. Medallia charges nothing extra per channel and includes speech analytics; Qualtrics bills on interactions and pushes generative AI. Both are quote-only, slow to implement, and both changed shape in 2026 (the Press Ganey Forsta deal for one, an ownership change for the other).
  • How much does Qualtrics cost?
Qualtrics publishes no price for its CX products: each one has only a Request Pricing button. It bills on interactions, defined as data records it collects or processes, so the quote depends on your volume. Its online terms cap renewal increases at 5% unless notice is given. Ask for the number of interactions behind your quote.
  • What are the best Delighted alternatives?
A priced tool rather than the Qualtrics suite you'll be pointed to. Delighted shut down in 2026 and its data is deleted after closure, so export first, project by project, as CSV. SatisMeter (free, then $199 a month) and Survicate ($89 a month on Starter) cover the core use case, and Zonka if you need more channels.
  • AI feedback analytics or a survey tool: what's the difference?
A survey tool collects answers; AI feedback analytics reads them. Text analytics groups thousands of comments into topics and sentiment so you see why scores move. Some platforms include both (Qualtrics, Medallia, Hello Customer), some sell AI as an add-on (Zonka in credits, Survicate's sentiment on Pro), and survey-only tools like SatisMeter don't do it.
  • How long does it take to launch a VoC program?
Days for a priced tool, months for a suite. Survicate or SatisMeter can be live on a site or app in a day. Qualtrics or Medallia need channels connected, dashboards configured and teams trained, and reviews describe long rollouts. Put the timeline in the contract.
  • How do you negotiate a CX platform contract?
Get everything in writing before signing. Ask for a line-by-line quote (license, units counted, services, implementation), a renewal increase cap (Qualtrics' online terms say 5% unless notice), and removal of auto-renewal. Put two vendors in competition on the same volume.
