What is the best Etsy SEO tool in 2026?

Keyword research, tags and listing data: what's worth your money, and what Etsy already gives you for free.

The short answer: eRank is the best Etsy SEO tool for most sellers. Its free plan is genuinely useful and Basic costs $5.99 a month. Pair it with Marketplace Insights, Etsy's own free keyword tool hiding in your Shop Manager, to check your keywords against real Etsy searches. Pick Alura if you want keywords, listing rewrites and customer tracking in one place. Here's what most roundups skip: the search volumes and revenue figures in third-party tools are estimates. Only Etsy's tool shows actual searches made on Etsy. We compared seven tools on data quality, real cost and how they handle renewals and refunds.

Scores on five criteria, weighted for an Etsy seller. Prices read on official vendor pages in 2026, before tax and Etsy fees.

How we scored

How we compared and scored

We didn't rank these tools by feature count. We compared them on three seller questions: can I trust the numbers, what will I really pay over a year, and what happens when I want to cancel. For each tool, we read the plans, daily limits and the gap between monthly and annual billing on its official pricing page. For Etsy itself, we read its help center pages on fees and on Marketplace Insights.

Then we read seller reviews, starting with the worst ones: annual renewals nobody noticed, a switch to credits in the middle of a plan, charges after cancellation. One fact weighs on every score. No third-party tool has access to Etsy's search engine, so their volumes are models. They're good for comparing two keywords, not for predicting sales. That's why Etsy's own tool, limited as it is, ranks so high.

Best value

eRank

4.4/5

eRank takes the top spot because it does the core job for the lowest price on the market. The free plan gives you 5 keyword searches a day, 50 tracked listings and one shop. That's enough to sanity-check tags on a new listing. Basic, at $5.99 a month, jumps to 100 searches a day, 200 tracked listings and 5 shops. Pro, at $9.99, doubles searches to 200 a day, tracks 4,000 listings and adds the full listing audit, demand by country and deeper category analysis. Paying yearly saves up to 25%, and monthly plans have no commitment.

What eRank won't do: it has no inside view of Etsy's search. Its volumes are estimates, and sellers on the Etsy forums keep reminding each other to read them as trends, not exact counts. Plenty of them have stayed on the free plan for years. The interface is also dense, with lots of tables and little hand-holding. Skip it if you want a tool that rewrites your listings for you.

One catch from reviews: your own shop stats only show up after you connect your Etsy shop, which isn't spelled out before you buy. The tip: under 200 listings, Basic billed yearly ($65.99, about $5.50 a month) is plenty. Pro earns its keep once you sell abroad and want to know which country searches a keyword.

Standout features
  • 5 free keyword searches a day
  • Listing audit and demand by country on Pro
  • Up to 25% off billed yearly
  • No commitment on monthly plans
+Pros
  • ✓Cheapest paid plan in this ranking
  • ✓Free plan with no end date
  • ✓Covers what most shops need
−Cons
  • ✗Estimated volumes, not Etsy's own
  • ✗Busy interface for beginners
  • ✗Shop stats only after connecting
Verdict

The best first paid tool, and often the only one you'll need. Pair it with Marketplace Insights to check your shortlist against real Etsy data.

Marketplace Insights (Etsy)

4.3/5

Does Etsy have its own SEO tool? Yes, and most roundups still leave it out. Etsy launched Marketplace Insights in 2025 and is rolling it out gradually. You'll find it in Shop Manager, under Stats, then Marketplace Insights. Type a keyword and you get the number of searches and the number of listings over the last 30 days, related searches and trends in your categories. The difference from every other tool here: these numbers come from Etsy, not from a model.

The limit is clear: 15 free searches a week. Results stay viewable for 7 days, then disappear. It works on the website, not in the Etsy Seller app. And Etsy says it plainly: it won't update your listings for you. There's no competitor shop analysis and no sales estimate. Etsy Plus, Etsy's paid subscription, makes searches unlimited.

Not for you if you want to explore hundreds of ideas a day: 15 searches need planning. The tip: build a long list in eRank or Alura first, then run your 15 best candidates through Marketplace Insights. Keep the ones with real searches and few competing listings. Do it in one batch, once a week.

Standout features
  • Actual searches by Etsy buyers
  • Number of competing listings per keyword
  • Category trends
  • No subscription
+Pros
  • ✓The only data that comes from Etsy
  • ✓Free and built into your shop
  • ✓Shows supply next to demand
−Cons
  • ✗Only 15 searches a week
  • ✗Not in the mobile app
  • ✗No competitor analysis
Verdict

Every seller's first stop, because it's free and it's accurate. Too limited to be your only tool, but ideal for settling a choice between two keywords.

Most complete

Alura

4.0/5

Alura covers the most ground in this ranking. Beyond keywords, it rewrites listings with AI, tracks your customers and turns listings into Pinterest pins. The free plan gives you 5 keyword searches a day and 1,000 one-time AI credits. Basic is $11.99 a month, or $7.99 a month billed yearly ($95.88 a year). Growth raises the cap to 500 searches a day and adds 4 A/B tests (two versions of a listing, compared) and 3 years of history, for $29.99 a month or $14.99 billed yearly. Running several shops requires Professional.

Watch the monthly vs annual gap. It reaches 57%: Professional costs $69.99 month to month, against $29.99 a month billed yearly. That pushes you toward a one-year commitment. Yet recent reviews describe a switch to a credit system after buying an annual plan, with limits hit sooner than expected. Others mention slow loading and charges after cancellation. On a major review site, 17% of ratings are one star, even though the average holds at 3.9 out of 5.

Skip it if you only have a handful of listings: eRank covers the basics for less. The tip: pay monthly for a month or two to see whether the AI credits are enough, then switch to yearly only if you really use the listing rewrites.

Standout features
  • AI listing optimization
  • Customer tracking for your shop
  • Pinterest pins from your listings
  • A/B tests from Growth
+Pros
  • ✓Most features in one subscription
  • ✓Clean interface sellers like
  • ✓Up to 57% off billed yearly
−Cons
  • ✗Credit system caps real usage
  • ✗Multiple shops only on Professional
  • ✗Complaints about post-cancellation charges
Verdict

The right call if you want one subscription to run everything. Start monthly: the yearly deal is tempting, but credit rules have already changed for some sellers.

Best for product research

EverBee

3.7/5

EverBee answers a different question than keyword tools: what actually sells on Etsy? For any competing listing or shop, it shows estimated sales and revenue. That's its edge, and why it's the go-to for sellers hunting a niche. The Hobby plan is free with no card and gives you 10 keyword searches and 5 shop analyses. Growth, at $24.99 a month or $299 a year, unlocks unlimited keywords, the Tag Analyzer, 100 AI actions a month and 3 connected shops. Business costs $69 a month.

The limit comes down to one word: estimates. EverBee can't see your competitors' real sales; it infers them. A recent review says the figures are presented with more confidence than they deserve, especially on low-volume listings. Billing is the big sore spot: on a major review site, EverBee sits at 3.0 out of 5 with 42% one-star reviews. Complaints center on annual renewals people didn't notice and a refund window of just 3 days. Other sellers praise fast support.

There's no free trial on paid plans. Skip it if keywords are your main need: eRank does that better for less. The tip: max out Hobby on your 5 main competitors before paying, and if you go yearly, put the renewal date in your calendar the same day.

Standout features
  • Estimated competitor sales and revenue
  • Tag Analyzer on Growth
  • 100 AI actions a month on Growth
  • Free plan, no card required
+Pros
  • ✓Best view of what's selling
  • ✓Free plan covers 5 shop checks
  • ✓Responsive support, per several sellers
−Cons
  • ✗Shaky estimates on small listings
  • ✗No trial on paid plans
  • ✗3-day refund window
Verdict

The product research tool, not the keyword tool. Treat revenue figures as a ballpark, and keep an eye on your renewal date.

Best inside Etsy search

Sale Samurai

3.6/5

Sale Samurai's selling point is its Chrome extension: when you search on Etsy, estimated volumes and listing tags show up on the page. If you work fast, that's handy. The Freemium plan gives you 20 keyword searches and 10 listing analyses a month. The full plan is $19.99 a month or $199.90 a year, with a 3-day trial that needs no credit card.

Watch out for older reviews: most still quote $9.99 a month. The official price has doubled, and Sale Samurai lost its price edge. At $19.99, it costs more than three times eRank Basic for volumes that are still estimates. Its competitor analysis and product research are lighter than EverBee's or Alura's.

Skip it on a tight budget: eRank does the essentials for $5.99. The tip: start the 3-day trial right before you prep holiday or Mother's Day listings, and pull all your seasonal tags in one go. After that, Freemium is enough for spot checks.

Standout features
  • Chrome extension on Etsy pages
  • 3-day trial, no card
  • Freemium: 20 searches a month
+Pros
  • ✓Volumes where you already search
  • ✓No-card trial, no surprise charge
  • ✓$16.65 a month billed yearly
−Cons
  • ✗Price doubled, now above eRank
  • ✗Light competitor analysis
  • ✗Estimated volumes
Verdict

Handy if you live in Chrome, but pricier than it used to be. Use it for a seasonal push and keep eRank for daily work.

Cheap product research

EHunt

3.5/5

EHunt, formerly EtsyHunt, is the budget alternative to EverBee for product research. The free plan gives you 5 keyword searches a day, which goes further than EverBee's free plan for regular use. Paid plans show $7.99, $15.99 and $29.99 a month. They add competitor Etsy Ads analysis, product exports and tracking for many shops (up to 200 on the top plan).

The catch is in how prices are displayed: those are yearly-billing rates. The month-to-month price isn't clearly shown on the official page, and figures vary from site to site. Check the total charged over twelve months before you pay. The rename also muddies things: many reviews still say EtsyHunt.

Skip it if you want the best keyword tool: eRank is simpler and cheaper. The tip: use the free plan to spot fast-growing shops in your category, then check the keywords they use in Marketplace Insights.

Standout features
  • Competitor Etsy Ads analysis
  • Product exports
  • Up to 200 tracked shops
+Pros
  • ✓Cheaper product research than EverBee
  • ✓Free plan usable day to day
  • ✓Affordable yearly plans
−Cons
  • ✗Monthly prices hard to find
  • ✗Rename muddies the reviews
  • ✗Weaker keywords than eRank
Verdict

A solid entry into product research when EverBee is too pricey. Check the yearly total before you pay.

The keyword brainstorm veteran

Marmalead

2.8/5

Marmalead is one of the oldest Etsy keyword tools. It's mostly used to expand one idea into dozens of variations and to spot seasonality in a search. Pricing is simple: $19 a month, $53 a quarter, $190 a year, or $300 for lifetime access. No free plan appears on its pricing page.

It ranks last for two reasons. Price first: $190 a year is about three times eRank Basic billed yearly, for volumes that are still estimates. Reviews second: on a major review site it scores 2.0 out of 5 with 82% one-star reviews, though the review count is small. Complaints cover charges after cancellation and shop data that stopped loading.

Skip it if you're starting out. The $300 lifetime deal can look smart, but it's a bet on how long the tool will be around: weigh that risk yourself. If you already use it and it works for you, there's no need to switch.

Standout features
  • Keyword variation brainstorming
  • Seasonality spotting
  • $300 lifetime deal
+Pros
  • ✓Brainstorm workflow loyal users like
  • ✓Simple pricing
  • ✓Quarterly billing option
−Cons
  • ✗No free plan
  • ✗Priciest keyword tool here
  • ✗Very negative billing reviews
Verdict

A veteran that lost its lead. Fine for existing users; a new seller gets more for less elsewhere.

Etsy fees and budget

What Etsy and your tools really cost

Before you pay for a tool, look at what Etsy already takes on every sale. Two fees apply to every order paid through Etsy Payments. The transaction fee is 6.5% of the order total, shipping included. The payment processing fee depends on the country of your bank account: 3% + $0.25 in the US, 4% + £0.20 in the UK, 4% + €0.30 in France and Spain.

Example (our math): a $30 sale shipping included, with a US bank account. Etsy takes $1.95 in transaction fees and $1.15 in processing, so $3.10 per order. Add listing fees and ads to get your full cost. Next to that, a keyword tool barely registers: eRank Basic billed yearly works out to $5.50 a month.

  • $0 budget: Marketplace Insights + eRank Free. 15 real searches a week and 5 estimates a day.
  • Under $70 a year: eRank Basic billed yearly ($65.99).
  • About $95 a year: eRank Pro ($94.99) or Alura Basic ($95.88), depending on whether you want data or an all-in-one.
  • About $180 to $200 a year: Alura Growth ($179.99), Marmalead ($190) or Sale Samurai ($199.90).
  • $299 a year: EverBee Growth, for product research.

You're opening your shop

Don't pay for anything in month one. Marketplace Insights and eRank's free plan cover your first listings. Spend that money on photos and listing fees instead: a paid tool can't tell you much until you have enough listings to compare.

You have 20 to 200 listings

Now eRank Basic makes sense, at $65.99 a year. 100 searches a day is enough to rework every tag in a week. Run each important keyword through Marketplace Insights before you commit to it.

You want one tool for everything

Alura bundles keywords, listing rewrites and customer tracking. Basic is $7.99 a month billed yearly, Growth $14.99. Start monthly for a month or two to check the AI credits cover your needs.

You're hunting for new products

EverBee ($24.99 a month) shows estimated competitor sales. EHunt does a lighter version from $7.99 a month billed yearly. Either way, treat revenue figures as a ballpark.

You sell internationally

eRank Pro ($9.99 a month) shows which countries search a keyword. Remember fees too: they depend on your bank account's country, not your buyer's.

You want your own store too

Etsy isn't your only option. If you want to own your customer list and skip the 6.5% transaction fee, see our ecommerce platforms for artisans ranking. For materials inventory, tools like Stocksmith (formerly Craftybase) start at $20 a month with a 14-day trial.
  • Work out what Etsy takes on your average sale before paying for a tool.
  • Run your 15 Marketplace Insights searches in one weekly batch.
  • Compare monthly and yearly prices, then the 12-month total.
  • Put every annual renewal date in your calendar on purchase day.
  • Read the access a tool requests before connecting your shop.
  • Screenshot every cancellation.
Tips

Six ways to pay less and research better

Pulled from vendor help pages and seller discussions. None of them needs another tool.

01

Batch your Marketplace Insights searches

Free

15 free searches a week go fast if you use them one at a time. Build your shortlist in a third-party tool, then run all your searches at once. Results stay viewable for 7 days, so you have a week to build listings around them.

Focus on the ratio of searches to listings. A keyword with plenty of searches and few competing listings is your best lead.

Free quota
15 searches a week
02

Read volumes as trends

Data

No third-party tool has access to Etsy's search engine. eRank, Alura, EverBee and Sale Samurai all model their volumes and revenue. They're useful for comparing keywords, not for forecasting sales.

Gaps get bigger on low-selling listings. If two tools give very different numbers, trust the relative order, not the amounts.

Only real source
Marketplace Insights
03

Try monthly before paying for a year

Billing

Annual deals are tempting: Alura Professional drops from $69.99 to $29.99 a month, and EverBee Growth works out to about $25 a month at $299. But sellers report rule changes mid-year (a switch to credits) and renewals they missed.

Pay for one month, use the tool for real, then go yearly. And put the renewal date in your calendar that same day.

Biggest gap
Up to 57% at Alura
04

Time trials for your busy seasons

Seasons

Sale Samurai offers a 3-day trial with no credit card, so there's no forgotten charge. Start it right before you prep holiday or Mother's Day listings and pull all your seasonal tags at once.

EverBee has no trial on paid plans. Use up the free Hobby plan first.

No-card trial
3 days at Sale Samurai
05

Check access before connecting your shop

Security

Some features require connecting your Etsy shop to the tool: with eRank, that's your own shop stats. The tool then uses the access Etsy grants to third-party apps. Read the authorization screen: it lists what the tool can read or change.

When you drop a tool, also revoke its access in your Etsy account settings, not just the subscription.

Habit
Revoke access when you leave
06

Don't use a Google SEO tool for Etsy

Method

A classic SEO tool measures searches on Google. It can't see what buyers type into Etsy's search bar, where wording is often more specific ("gold name necklace" rather than "personalized jewelry").

Keep Google tools for your own online store, if you have one. Our ecommerce SEO tools ranking covers them.

FAQ · 8 questions

Etsy SEO tools · FAQ

  • What is the best Etsy SEO tool?
For most sellers, eRank: its free plan is useful and Basic costs only $5.99 a month. Pair it with Marketplace Insights, Etsy's free keyword tool, to check keywords against real searches. Alura fits better if you want one tool for everything, and EverBee if your main question is what to sell.
  • Is there a free Etsy SEO tool?
Yes: Marketplace Insights, in Shop Manager under Stats. It's the only one showing real Etsy searches, with 15 free searches a week covering the last 30 days. Among third-party tools, eRank Free gives you 5 searches a day and EverBee Hobby 10 keyword searches, no card needed.
  • Does Etsy have its own SEO tool?
Yes, since 2025, rolling out gradually: Marketplace Insights. If you don't see it under Stats yet, your shop doesn't have access yet. It only works on the website, not in the Etsy Seller app, and Etsy Plus makes searches unlimited.
  • Is eRank or Marmalead better?
eRank, for most sellers. It has a free plan and Basic costs $5.99 a month, while Marmalead starts at $19 a month with no free plan listed. Marmalead's reviews are also far worse on billing. Its brainstorming workflow still has fans among long-time users.
  • Do Etsy SEO tools actually work?
They help you compare keywords, but their numbers aren't exact. Third-party tools can't access Etsy's search engine and model their volumes. Use them to build a shortlist, then confirm the finalists in Marketplace Insights, which also shows how many listings you'd compete with.
  • How much does Etsy take per sale in the US?
6.5% transaction fee on the order total, plus 3% + $0.25 payment processing with a US bank account. On a $30 sale, that's $3.10 (our math). Listing fees and ads come on top.
  • Should I pay yearly for an Etsy tool?
Only after a month of real use. Yearly billing saves up to 25% at eRank and up to 57% at Alura, but sellers report missed renewals and rules changed mid-year. EverBee gives only 3 days for a refund: set a calendar reminder for the renewal date when you buy.
  • How many Etsy tools do I need?
Rarely more than two. The best-value pair: Marketplace Insights for real data, eRank to widen your ideas. Add EverBee or EHunt only if you're actively hunting new products. Every extra subscription is one more renewal date to watch.
