What is the best interactive demo software in 2026?
Most top lists are written by the vendors. This one is not.
Search for interactive demo software and four of the top results are vendor blogs, each one ranking its own product first. We went the other way: six tools, their official 2026 price pages, what the free plan really allows, and the exact tier where HTML capture and sandboxes unlock.
The short answer: Supademo is the best value for most teams, with a usable free plan (5 demos) and a 14-day trial with no card. Storylane is the most complete if HTML demos and account-level tracking matter and you can absorb the price jump. Arcade is the fastest way to ship a polished demo for your website or LinkedIn. Guideflow is the cheapest for a solo creator, HowdyGo wins for larger teams thanks to unlimited users, and Walnut is built for sales teams with a real budget.
Below the ranking, you get the yearly cost for 1 and 5 creators, so you can compare per-seat, flat-rate and minimum-seat pricing on the same line.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

How we compared and scored
For every tool, we read the official 2026 pricing page, noted the tier where HTML capture and sandboxes unlock, and counted what the free plan actually lets you publish. We also went through user reviews and sales and marketing forum threads, where the complaints are more candid than on vendor blogs.
To enter the ranking, a tool needs a readable public price and a plan a small company can buy. Navattic is left out: it has a free plan (1 demo), but its paid tiers show no amount. Consensus, Reprise, Tourial and Demostack are quote-only, and we don't score a tool whose price we can't check. If personalized video demos are what you need, our Consensus review covers it.
Storylane's score matches its full review on our site, criterion by criterion. The other five don't have a review page yet, so their scores come from this ranking, using the same rubric.
- Value for moneyEntry price, jumps between tiers, minimum seats, free plan limits.30%
- Features and depthScreenshot or HTML capture, branching, forms, analytics, personalization.25%
- Ease of useTime to a first published demo, editing, upkeep when your UI changes.20%
- IntegrationsCRM (HubSpot, Salesforce), automation, website embeds.15%
- Customer supportResponsiveness reported in reviews, docs, onboarding help.10%
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.
Supademo
Supademo records each screen as you click through your product and turns it into a step-by-step demo you can edit, annotate and share within minutes. Its free plan is one of the most generous out there: 5 demos for one creator, where Storylane, Arcade and Navattic stop at one.
Scale costs $38 per creator per month billed yearly ($50 monthly). You get unlimited demos, branching (viewers pick a path based on their role), analytics and 4K video. External views are unlimited on every plan, so you never pay for traffic.
The catch is HTML capture. For a demo built on a real copy of your interface (editable text, crisp on any screen), you need Business at $199 a month. Sandboxes arrive with Growth, $350 a month for 5 creators. Reviewers mostly praise the value for the cost, but there are still far fewer public reviews than for Storylane or Navattic.
- 5 free demos for one creator
- Unlimited external views on every plan
- 14-day trial with no card
- HTML capture on Business, sandbox on Growth
- ✓The most useful free plan in this ranking
- ✓Low entry price, monthly or yearly
- ✓Quick to learn for non-technical teams
- ✗HTML capture locked to Business ($199/mo)
- ✗Few public reviews to judge long-term support
- ✗USD billing only
Our top pick for most teams: a free plan you can actually use, a fair entry price, and tiers that grow without forcing five seats on day one.
Storylane
Storylane has one of the richest editors in the category: screenshot or HTML capture, AI voiceover, multi-language demos on Premium, and detailed tracking of what each account watched.
The free plan covers 1 published demo with unlimited views and 200 AI credits. Starter, at $40 a month billed yearly, unlocks unlimited demos, custom branding, HubSpot and Zapier. Then comes the wall: Growth is $500 a month billed yearly with 5 seats minimum. That's where the HTML editor, A/B testing and offline demos for trade shows live. Salesforce and SSO wait for Premium at $1,200 a month.
Users love the output quality and the support team. The most repeated complaint is that jump from the base plan to the next one, and some want more control over AI voices. Our Storylane pricing breakdown covers every plan.
- HTML capture, A/B tests and offline demos on Growth
- Multi-language demos and Salesforce on Premium
- AI voiceover
- ✓The deepest editor among self-serve tools
- ✓Affordable Starter for a solo creator
- ✓Support often praised in reviews
- ✗Jump from $40 to $500 a month for HTML
- ✗5 seats required on Growth
- ✗Free plan limited to one demo
The best tool if demos sit at the center of your go-to-market and Growth fits the budget. Solo, Starter is a good deal; just make sure you won't need HTML six months from now.
Arcade
Arcade built its name on speed: record your screen and get a polished clickable demo that you can also export as MP4 video or GIF. It's the natural pick for feature launches on LinkedIn, help articles and homepage embeds.
The free plan gives you 1 published demo with a watermark. Growth costs $42.50 per seat per month billed yearly ($50 monthly), up to 10 users: unlimited demos, branching, lead forms, video export, no watermark. Watch out on the pricing page: Arcade also sells a separate video product (Pro at $49 a month yearly), which isn't the interactive demo plan.
Two limits. HTML capture and native Salesforce are Enterprise-only, on quote. And CRM tracking is light: in one sales ops thread comparing four tools, a rep explains dropping Arcade because views never reached the CRM. A few reviewers also mention editing glitches.
- MP4 and GIF export
- Lead capture forms on Growth
- Up to 10 users on Growth
- ✓Fastest from recording to published demo
- ✓Polished output with little effort
- ✓One demo doubles as a social video
- ✗HTML and Salesforce only on Enterprise
- ✗CRM handoff judged light by sales teams
- ✗Watermark on the free plan
The marketer's choice: fast, good-looking, reusable as video. If you need to follow prospects in your CRM, look at Storylane or Walnut.
Guideflow
Guideflow's editor is close to Supademo's: screen capture, tooltips, branching, link sharing and website embeds. The free plan gives 5 demos, with a watermark and analytics limited to the last 7 days.
Solo is the cheapest plan in this ranking, $35 to $40 a month depending on billing, then $35 per extra user. For one creator, it's the lowest yearly cost of the six.
The trap mirrors Storylane's. HTML capture only comes with Growth, $499 a month for 10 users, and the sandbox with Advanced at $1,499. There's nothing in between: a three-person team that wants HTML pays the ten-person price.
- 5 free demos
- Cheapest solo plan in the ranking
- HTML on Growth, sandbox on Advanced
- ✓Lowest yearly cost for one creator
- ✓Reasonably priced extra users on Solo
- ✓5-demo free plan to try on a real case
- ✗No tier between Solo and $499 a month
- ✗Watermark and 7-day analytics on free
- ✗Fewer public reviews
The right math for a solo creator. Once several people need HTML, compare with HowdyGo, which doesn't charge per user.
HowdyGo
HowdyGo does the opposite of everyone else: unlimited users on every plan. You pay a flat price whether two or twenty people build demos. HTML capture is included from the first plan at $159 a month, where Storylane charges $500 and Guideflow $499.
The $399 plan adds sandboxes for late-stage deals. Monthly billing is available, yearly saves 20%, and there's no setup fee. The trial runs 14 days, and the team extends it if you ask in the chat.
The downside: no free plan, and an entry price too high for one person who only needs screenshots. It's also less known, with few public reviews and a shorter integration list than Storylane or Walnut.
- Unlimited users on every plan
- HTML capture from $159/mo
- Sandbox at $399/mo
- No setup fee
- ✓Cheapest HTML capture in this ranking
- ✓Flat price whatever the team size
- ✓Extendable trial
- ✗No free plan
- ✗Overpriced for a solo creator
- ✗Few public reviews
The best deal once five creators need HTML. Solo with screenshots, Supademo or Guideflow cost a quarter as much.
Walnut
Walnut targets the sales demo. Reps duplicate a demo, swap in the prospect's logo and data, and send it before or after the call. The sandbox lets them present live without risking a bug in the real product.
Pricing follows: $575 a month billed yearly for Ignite (3 editors, 3 presenters), $1,550 for Accelerate (6 and 6), and a custom Scale tier. No free plan, no listed trial, and some options (offline demos, SSO) cost extra.
It's the only tool here that starts above $500 a month. We rank it because it's the sales-focused option with a public price, unlike Consensus or Reprise. For a small team, Storylane Growth or HowdyGo cover most needs for less. Our ranking of interactive demos for sales teams goes deeper on this use case.
- Per-prospect personalization
- Sandbox for live presentations
- Presenters separate from editors
- ✓Built for the B2B sales cycle
- ✓Sandbox included
- ✓Public price, unlike its direct rivals
- ✗$575 a month minimum, yearly
- ✗No free plan or listed trial
- ✗Paid add-ons (offline, SSO)
A tool for a structured sales org, not an early-stage startup. If your reps live in demos, it pays off; otherwise, keep the budget.
Six questions to ask before you pay
The six tools look alike on their homepages. The differences hide in the tiers and the fine print.
Screenshot or HTML capture?
Screenshot capture records images of your product: quick, light, and enough for most website, help and social use. HTML capture records the page code: editable text and responsive output, but more upkeep every time your UI changes. Start with screenshots; move to HTML only if visual fidelity matters to buyers.
Guided demo or sandbox?
A guided demo walks the viewer step by step, ideal for your site and outbound. A sandbox lets them explore a full copy, useful late in the deal. Sandboxes are pricey everywhere ($350 at Supademo, $399 at HowdyGo, $1,499 at Guideflow): pay only if reps ask for it.
How many creators, really?
Count people who build demos, not people who watch them. One creator: Guideflow, Supademo or Storylane Starter. Five creators who want HTML: HowdyGo's flat price beats Storylane Growth by a wide margin.
Is the free plan enough to evaluate?
One published demo (Storylane, Arcade, Navattic) lets you judge the editor, not real use. With 5 demos (Supademo, Guideflow) you can cover site, outbound and help docs before paying. Mind the watermark on Arcade and Guideflow.
Does it reach your CRM?
A demo that sends nothing to your CRM is a brand asset, not a sales tool. HubSpot comes with Storylane Starter; Salesforce needs Storylane Premium or Arcade Enterprise. Check the tier before signing.
Who keeps demos up to date?
It's the hidden cost reviewers mention most: when your product ships often, every demo ages. Name an owner, keep demos short (5 to 10 steps) and use screenshots for the parts that change most.
- The tier where HTML capture unlocks
- Minimum seat count
- Whether yearly billing is mandatory
- Watermark on the free plan
- CRM integration and its tier
- Trial length and whether a card is required

Six tips for demos that actually work
Pulled from official pricing pages, vendor docs and the mistakes teams share in forums.
The tips
Run trials back to back on the same flow
FreeSupademo gives 14 days with no card, HowdyGo 14 days extendable via chat. Script your six key screens beforehand and rebuild them in each tool on the same day: you compare on a real case in an hour.
- Cost
- $0
Pay monthly for the first three months
PriceYearly discounts sit around 15 to 20%. That's small next to the risk of picking the wrong tool. Go monthly until your first demos are live, then switch.
- Yearly discount
- 15 to 20%
Keep every demo under 10 steps
UsageLong demos get abandoned and age faster. Split by use case, one demo per role or feature, linked with branching. Updates then take minutes.
- Target
- 5 to 10 steps
Use HTML only on the page that converts
PriceOne well-placed HTML demo on your pricing or home page is often enough. Everything else can stay as screenshots, cheaper and easier to maintain.
- Saving
- Skips the $500 tier
Gate after the value, not before
ConversionAsking for an email on screen one drives people away. Show two or three strong steps, then offer the form when the viewer wants more. Arcade, Storylane and Supademo all support in-demo forms.
- Placement
- After 2 or 3 steps
Hide real data before recording
TrapA demo recorded on your production account shows real customer names and numbers. Use a demo account with dummy data, or blur sensitive areas before publishing if your tool allows it.
- Risk
- Customer data leak

Interactive demo software · FAQ
What is interactive demo software?
It's a tool that turns a recording of your product into a clickable tour prospects explore on their own, with no trial account or call. You click through your app once, then add tooltips. Tip: demos of 5 to 10 steps get finished far more often than 30-step ones.Is there free interactive demo software?
Yes, five of the six tools here have a permanent free plan. Supademo and Guideflow allow 5 demos, Storylane and Arcade 1 published demo, and Arcade and Guideflow add a watermark. For ongoing use, Supademo's free plan is the most useful. How much does interactive demo software cost?
About $35 to $50 a month for one creator using screenshots. HTML capture raises the bill: $159 a month at HowdyGo, $199 at Supademo, $500 at Storylane. Sales-focused tools start around $575 a month, and several vendors publish no price at all. What's a cheaper alternative to Navattic?
Supademo, Storylane Starter or Guideflow Solo, all between $35 and $40 a month billed yearly. Navattic shows no amount for its paid tiers, and some users call its price out of reach for small teams. For HTML across several people, HowdyGo is the strongest math.Interactive demo vs video demo: which is better?
Interactive demos let prospects click and pick a path; videos are passive but travel well on social. You don't have to choose: Arcade exports any demo as MP4 or GIF, so one recording covers both.Do interactive demos increase conversions?
Vendors say so and publish their own numbers, but there's no solid independent study. The only way to know for your site is to measure: add a demo to one page and compare demo requests before and after over a few weeks. What's the difference between an interactive demo and a sandbox?
A guided interactive demo leads the viewer through set steps; a sandbox is a free-roam copy of your product. Sandboxes suit late-stage deals and cost more: $350 a month at Supademo, $399 at HowdyGo.Can I build an interactive demo without coding?
Yes, every tool here works through a browser extension that records as you click. No code is needed, even for HTML capture. The useful skill is writing short tooltips, one idea per step.
