What is the best landscaping business software in 2026?

Five tools compared on quotes, crew scheduling, recurring maintenance and real monthly cost.

The short answer: Jobber is the safest all-round pick for a landscaping company that quotes, schedules and invoices, from $49 a month. If most of your revenue is recurring lawn care, LawnPro gives you level billing and route optimization for less, with a free plan to start. For a crew of five, Housecall Pro bundles the users at $149 a month billed annually.

Landscaping software here means business software: quotes, crew schedules, recurring visits and invoices. 3D design tools are a separate category, covered further down. We compared each vendor's official pricing page and read user reviews.

Our method

How we compared and scored

We started from a landscaper's week: install quotes to price at night, mowing routes to split between crews, invoices to chase. For each tool we read the official pricing page: plans, prices, which features sit in which plan. A tool without a public price did not make the ranking: Aspire and Yardbook were left out because we could not read their pricing on an official page.

We then read recent user reviews, starting with the negative ones, where the sync problems and support gaps show up. Jobber and Housecall Pro keep the same scores as on our other rankings.

1
Best overall for a growing crew

Jobber

4.1/5

Jobber is the tool most US landscapers end up comparing everything else to. It covers the full job loop: online booking, quotes, scheduling, invoices with online payments, and a client hub where customers approve quotes and pay. For a crew that does both installs and weekly maintenance, it is the safest pick on this list.

Watch the plan you actually need. Core, at $49 a month for one user, gives you quotes, scheduling and invoicing. Automated quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync and time tracking start at Connect, $139 a month. Job costing and richer quotes with optional line items sit in Grow, $199 a month. Each extra user is $29 a month.

The complaint that keeps coming back in user reviews is the QuickBooks sync: duplicate entries and broken connections. If your bookkeeper lives in QuickBooks, test the sync during the 14-day trial with real invoices.

Standout features
  • Client hub for quote approval and payment
  • Quote and invoice follow-ups from Connect
  • Job costing from Grow
  • 100+ app integrations
+Pros
  • ✓Covers quote to payment without a second tool
  • ✓14-day trial with Grow features, no card
  • ✓Large app marketplace
−Cons
  • ✗Costs climb fast once you need Connect or Grow
  • ✗QuickBooks sync issues reported by users
  • ✗Not built only for lawn care: no level billing named on the pricing page
Verdict

The safe default for a landscaping business that wants one app from quote to payment. Budget for Connect, not Core, once you have a crew.

Best for crews that want a simple app

Housecall Pro

4.1/5

Housecall Pro sells the same promise as Jobber with a different pricing logic: users are bundled into the plan. Basic is $59 a month billed annually for one user, Essentials is $149 for five, Max is $299 for eight. A crew of five pays less here than on most per-user tools.

It was built for home services in general, so it handles scheduling, dispatch, estimates and card payments well. Its pricing page does not name lawn care features such as level billing, which LawnPro includes on every plan.

The 14-day trial opens the Max plan, which can make the cheaper plans look better than they are. Note which features you actually used before choosing Basic.

Standout features
  • Users bundled in the plan: 5 on Essentials
  • Card payments and dispatch built in
  • Trial opens the full Max plan
+Pros
  • ✓Good value for a crew of five
  • ✓Easy for field staff to learn
  • ✓Strong integration list
−Cons
  • ✗Generic home-services tool, not lawn care first
  • ✗Trial on Max can hide plan limits
  • ✗Extra users $35/mo on Max
Verdict

Pick it if you run a crew of around five and want the bundled users. For route-heavy maintenance, LawnPro fits the trade better.

Best for recurring lawn care

LawnPro

4.0/5

LawnPro is built for one thing: recurring lawn care. Recurring and one-time jobs, level billing (the same invoice every month, whatever the season) and chemical programs are in the product, not bolted on. The free Solo plan covers one user and 25 customers, enough to run a side business properly.

Startup, at $39 a month or $29 billed annually, removes the customer cap and adds automated invoicing for three employees. Route optimization, the feature that saves the most fuel on a maintenance route, starts at Grow: $129 a month, $99 billed annually, for seven employees. QuickBooks sync waits until Plus, at $249.

The trade-off is breadth. LawnPro is lighter on big install projects and job costing than Jobber. If most of your revenue is design-build, look elsewhere.

Standout features
  • Level billing on every plan
  • Route optimization from Grow
  • Multi-step chemical programs
+Pros
  • ✓Free plan for one user and 25 customers
  • ✓Lawn care features out of the box
  • ✓Cheapest route optimization on this list
−Cons
  • ✗QuickBooks sync only on Plus ($249/mo)
  • ✗Light for design-build projects
  • ✗Employee caps per plan
Verdict

The best value for a maintenance-first business. Start on Solo, move to Grow the day route planning eats your evenings.

Best flat price for a bigger team

Kickserv

3.6/5

Kickserv's pitch is simple: a flat price for a team. Start is $60 a month for five users, Run is $119 for ten, Scale is $199 for twenty. On a crew of ten, that is far below per-user pricing elsewhere.

Start includes automated email and text reminders, time and expense tracking and QuickBooks Online. Dispatch mapping and GPS check-ins come with Run. Annual billing takes 20% off.

The limit is depth for landscaping. Kickserv is a general field-service tool, and its pricing page does not name lawn care features such as level billing or route optimization. You get the basics for a good price, not a trade-specific tool.

Standout features
  • 5 users on the entry plan
  • QuickBooks Online on every plan
  • GPS check-ins from Run
+Pros
  • ✓Lowest cost per user for a team of 10
  • ✓Flat pricing, easy to budget
  • ✓20% off with annual billing
−Cons
  • ✗No lawn-care specific features named
  • ✗Route optimization not listed
  • ✗QuickBooks Desktop costs $50/mo extra
Verdict

A good deal for a larger crew that needs scheduling and invoicing, not lawn-care specifics.

Most powerful for big maintenance routes

Service Autopilot

3.4/5

Service Autopilot is the heavy machinery of lawn care software. Route optimization, multi-day jobs, a dispatch calendar, job costing and asset tracking start at Pro, $199 a month. Automations come with Pro Plus, at $499.

Two things to know before you sign. Prices are annual subscription rates, and each plan adds a sign-up fee that the pricing page does not put a number on. Ask for it in writing.

It is built for companies with several crews. For a two-person crew, it is too much tool and too much money: LawnPro Startup costs $29 a month billed annually.

Standout features
  • Route optimization and dispatch calendar from Pro
  • Automations from Pro Plus
  • Multi-location management on Elite
+Pros
  • ✓Deepest routing and automation on this list
  • ✓Built around recurring maintenance
  • ✓Scales to several locations
−Cons
  • ✗Annual pricing, sign-up fee not priced publicly
  • ✗Too much tool for a small crew
  • ✗Pro starts at $199/mo
Verdict

Worth it for a multi-crew maintenance company with dense routes. Overkill for a small crew.

How to choose

Business software or design software: what your company needs

Search for landscaping software and you get two families mixed together. Design software draws the yard. Business software runs the company: quotes, crew schedules, recurring visits, invoices. This ranking covers business software, because that is where your hours go every week.

Maintenance first

Recurring visits are the job. Look for recurring jobs, level billing and route optimization: LawnPro and Service Autopilot are built around them.

Design-build first

The quote is the bottleneck. You want job costing and quotes with optional line items, which Jobber offers from Grow.

Growing past five people

Compare per-user and flat pricing. Kickserv's flat $119 for ten users beats most per-user plans at that size.

And 3D design?

It is a second tool. SketchUp or Realtime Landscaping show the project to a client; none of the business tools here draw in 3D.

  • Is the price per user or per company?
  • Do recurring jobs schedule themselves?
  • Is route optimization on your plan or the next one?
  • Which plan includes the QuickBooks sync?
  • Is there a sign-up fee?
  • Does the mobile app work offline?
Field tips

Six settings that save hours every week

Software only saves time once it is set up right. These come from vendor documentation and user reviews.

01

Set two visit frequencies per contract

Maintenance

Weekly in spring, biweekly in late summer. Two periods in the recurring job beat one fixed frequency, and you stop cancelling visits by hand in August.

LawnPro, Service Autopilot
02

Turn on level billing for maintenance clients

Same invoice every month, all year. Winter cash flow stops being a problem, and customers budget more easily.

03

Optimize routes before adding a crew

Fuel

Before hiring, re-sequence your existing routes. Route optimization sits in LawnPro Grow and Service Autopilot Pro; it often frees enough time for a few more stops a day.

04

Require before and after photos

A disputed mow is an unpaid invoice. A time-stamped photo on the job record settles it in two minutes.

Benefit
Faster payment on disputes
05

Test the accounting sync with real invoices

QuickBooks sync is the most common complaint about field tools. During the trial, push ten real invoices and check them with your bookkeeper.

FAQ · 6 questions

Landscaping software FAQ

  • What is the best software for a small landscaping business?

For one to three people, LawnPro: free for one user and 25 customers, then $29 a month billed annually. If you mix installs and maintenance, Jobber Core at $49 a month is the more complete start.

  • Is there free landscaping business software?

Yes. LawnPro Solo is free for one user and up to 25 customers, with scheduling, quotes, invoicing and online payments. Past 25 customers, you move to Startup.

  • Jobber or LawnPro for lawn care?

LawnPro if most of your revenue is recurring maintenance: level billing and route optimization cost less there. Jobber if you also sell design-build projects that need job costing and richer quotes.

  • What does level billing mean?

You charge the customer the same amount every month, even when you mow less in winter. Cash flow stays steady and customers stop questioning seasonal bills. LawnPro includes it on every plan.

  • Which software is best for landscape design in 3D?

That is a different category. Designers use 3D modelers such as SketchUp or dedicated tools like Realtime Landscaping to show a project. None of them runs your schedule or invoices, so you will still need one of the tools ranked here.

  • How much does landscaping software cost for a crew of five?

Roughly $60 to $200 a month. Kickserv Start covers five users for $60. Housecall Pro Essentials is $149 billed annually. Jobber Connect for five users is $199 billed monthly.
