How much does Databox cost?

The 2026 price grid plan by plan, agency packs, the fees on top, and what you really pay over a year.

Short answer: Databox still has a free plan (1 user, 3 data sources). The first paid plan, Analyst, is $71 a month billed annually, about $89 month to month. To work as a team you need Team Core at $199 a month (3 users) or Team Scale at $319 (10 users). Agencies get their own plan from $79, which grows in $20 packs.

Databox rebuilt its whole pricing in 2026. The Pro, Growth and Premium plans you still see quoted everywhere are gone, and so is the $5.60 per-source fee. We compared every plan, the costs the pricing page doesn't spell out and five alternatives, with a 12-month cost for six buyer profiles.

The 2026 grid

What each Databox plan includes

Two meters drive the grid: how many users log in and how many data sources you connect. A data source is not a tool. It's one specific account or property, so Google Analytics on three sites counts as three sources. AI credits fuel Databox's analyst assistant, which answers plain-language questions about your numbers.

The big number is the annual price, paid upfront. Month to month costs about 25% more. Quarterly billing also exists, at 10% off.

US dollars, before tax, monthly equivalent on annual billing. Month-to-month price under each plan.

Hidden costs

Why your Databox bill beats the sticker price

The entry price is real. What gets expensive are the thresholds: one user too many, one more Google property, a client who wants your logo on the report. Here are the six things we'd check before paying.

The 4th user costs $1,440 a year

Team Core stops at 3 users and the next plan holds 10, with nothing in between. Adding a fourth person moves you from $199 to $319 a month on annual billing. That's $120 more every month for a single seat.

A source is an account, not a tool

Three sites in Google Analytics, two Google Ads accounts and one Facebook page make 6 sources, not three. A source also belongs to one Databox account only and can't be shared across accounts. Count your properties one by one before picking a plan.

No per-source price outside Agency

On Analyst and the Team plans, Databox no longer lists a price per extra source. Going over your quota means a prorated overage each cycle or an upgrade. In practice, going from 10 to 11 sources on Team Core often pushes you to Team Scale.

Add-ons bill every month

White label (your logo, your domain) is $80 a month, or $960 a year. Advanced security adds $40 a month. An AI credit top-up is $200 a month. Add-ons get the same annual discount as the plan.

Sharing starts with Team

Free and Analyst send no shared dashboard and no notification. If a client or your boss needs to see the numbers, you need Team Core or Agency. It's the most common trap for consultants who buy Analyst expecting to send reports.

Annual plans aren't refunded

Subscriptions are prepaid and Databox doesn't refund. Renewal is automatic, even on an account nobody uses anymore, and some customers report paying for a new year without noticing. Removing sources mid-year gives no credit either.

  • List your sources account by account, property by property.
  • Count who needs to log in: 3 or fewer, or more than 3?
  • Check whether anyone outside your account needs to see dashboards.
  • Put the renewal date in your calendar the day you pay.
  • Price white label before choosing Agency if clients see your reports.
Our method

How we worked out the real cost

Every amount comes from Databox's official pricing page and its agency pricing page, nothing else. For each profile we take the cheapest plan that covers three needs: how many people log in, how many sources, and sharing. Then we add the packs or add-ons the profile forces. Former customers' feedback helps us spot traps, never to set a price.

What you actually pay over a year

Six profiles we see often, with the plan that fits and the 12-month total. For agencies we assume 5 sources per client: a website, an ad account, a social profile, a CRM and a store or email tool.

Pay less

Six ways to cut your Databox bill

What we take from the pricing grid and from former customers. None of these needs a negotiation, except the last one.

Use the trial to count your sources

The trial lasts 14 days on any plan, with no card. Connect all your real accounts during those two weeks. You'll know exactly how many sources you use, and which plan you need, before paying a cent.

Start on quarterly billing

Annual takes 20% off but locks your money for twelve months with no refund. Quarterly takes 10% off and caps the risk at three months. Move to annual once your dashboards have run for a quarter and the team really uses them.

Merge your properties

Every property counts. If your three sites can report into one Google Analytics property with a hostname filter, you go from 3 sources to 1. Same idea for ad accounts: one tidy manager account beats five separate connections.

Share views, not seats

On Team Core, not everyone needs a login. A shared dashboard and a weekly notification are enough for people who read without editing. You stay at 3 users and skip the extra $120 a month of Team Scale.

Agencies: price Agency before Team

A three-person agency often grabs Team Core by reflex. With 4 clients at 5 sources each, the Agency base covers 4 accounts and 20 sources for $79 a month, with unlimited users. That's $120 less every month, and each client gets its own space.

Negotiate at renewal

Above Team Scale, price is open to discussion. Bring your 12-month source count and a priced competing offer. Get the renewal date confirmed in writing too: given how many disputes hit that point, it's the best moment to ask for a gesture.

  • 14-day trial: connect every real account.
  • Quarterly first (−10%), annual later (−20%).
  • Merge what you can before counting sources.
  • Only give logins to people who edit dashboards.
  • If in doubt, cancel before the renewal date: it takes effect at the end of the cycle.

Looker Studio, Google's free tool, stays the zero-dollar option if you're fine building reports by hand and paying for connectors outside Google. For agencies with 5 sources per client, Databox Agency and AgencyAnalytics cost about the same from 4 clients up ($20 per extra client on both); below 4 clients, AgencyAnalytics is cheaper than the $79 Agency base.

The verdict

So, is Databox worth the price?

In our full review, Databox scores 3.7 out of 5, with 4.2 for integrations and 4.1 for ease of use, but only 2.8 for value for money. The 2026 grid doesn't change that: the product is good, the bill is hard to predict.

Yes, for an agency with 4 to 15 clients

The Agency plan is the real upside of 2026. Roughly $4 per source, unlimited users and one space per client: at 10 clients you pay $199 a month, the same as AgencyAnalytics, with the AI assistant on top. Add white label only if clients open dashboards themselves.

Yes, for a team of 3 that shares

Team Core at $199 a month covers 10 sources and sharing. For a small business that wants sales, site and campaigns on one screen, that's a fair price, as long as you stay at three logins and let others read through shared dashboards.

No, if you work solo and must show numbers

Analyst at $71 shares nothing. A consultant sending reports to clients ends up on Team Core or Agency. In that case DashThis at $44 a month or free Looker Studio do the job, and AgencyAnalytics gets interesting from 2 or 3 clients.

  • Solo and only you look: Free, then Analyst.
  • Three people sharing numbers: Team Core.
  • You manage clients: Agency, before any Team plan.
  • More than 10 users or security requirements: ask for a Custom quote.

Pricing FAQ

Questions we get about Databox pricing

  • How much does Databox cost per month?
Databox costs $0 to $319 a month on its public plans, billed annually. Free is $0, Analyst is $71, Team Core is $199 and Team Scale is $319. Agency starts at $79 and adds $20 per client pack. Paying monthly, Team Core is $249 and Team Scale is $399. Anything bigger goes to a quoted Custom plan.
  • How much does Databox cost per year?
On annual billing, Analyst comes to $852 a year, Team Core to $2,388 and Team Scale to $3,828, charged upfront. The Agency base plan is $948 a year before packs. Databox shows monthly equivalents, so these totals are our math from its price grid. Add $960 a year if you need white label.
  • Does Databox still have a free plan?
Yes. Despite what several comparison sites claim, the Free plan is still on the 2026 price grid, with no time limit and no credit card. You get 1 user, 3 data sources, daily refresh and 50 AI credits a month. The real limit is sharing: Free can't share a dashboard or send notifications.
  • What happened to the Pro, Growth and Premium plans?
They were retired in 2026. Team Core and Team Scale now cover teams, and Custom replaces Premium. If you are still on a legacy plan, your old price holds as long as you don't switch. Before you move, count your users: Team Core stops at 3.
  • Does Databox charge per user or per data source?
Both, except on Agency. Analyst includes 1 user, Team Core 3 and Team Scale 10, each with a data source quota. Only Agency and Custom have unlimited users. Many reviews still say users are unlimited on every paid plan, which was true of the old grid, not the 2026 one.
  • How much is an extra data source?
On Agency, about $4: a $20 monthly pack adds 5 sources, one client account and 50 AI credits. On Analyst and the Team plans, Databox shows no per-source price. Overage is prorated each billing cycle, or you get pushed to the next plan. The old $5.60 per source now only applies to legacy plans.
  • Can I get a refund from Databox?
Usually not. Subscriptions are prepaid, annual plans renew automatically and Databox does not refund them, which is the top complaint in negative reviews. You cancel from the billing settings and it takes effect at the end of the cycle. After closing, your data is kept for 30 days, then deleted, so request an export from support first.
  • What's a cheaper alternative to Databox?
It depends on what you count. Solo, Looker Studio is free and DashThis starts at $44 a month. For an agency with many small clients, AgencyAnalytics charges $20 per client with everything unlimited. For a Microsoft 365 team, Power BI Pro costs $14 per user.
