DSers alternatives: where to go, and how to switch without breaking orders

Six apps in detail, the real DSers plan limits, and a seven-step migration plan.

The short answer: AutoDS if you want many suppliers (AliExpress, Amazon, US and EU vendors) in one app, Zendrop if you sell mostly to US customers and want a managed catalog, CJdropshipping if you want warehouse stock and a free app, Spocket or Syncee for US and European suppliers, BuckyDrop to buy from 1688 and Taobao. Sometimes the right move is to stay: DSers Advanced costs $19.90 a month, less than every paid alternative here. We compared all six apps and checked their prices in 2026.

The real reasons

Why sellers leave DSers, and what you can fix without leaving

DSers is the go-to AliExpress ordering app on Shopify, rated 5.0 across more than 6,400 App Store reviews. So people don't leave because it's broadly bad. They leave over six specific problems that keep showing up in one-star reviews, on Trustpilot and in the Shopify Community. Read them critically: two of them can be fixed without switching.

Orders that fail at the supplier

DSers itself lists nine failure causes: the supplier changed the SKU, the product was pulled from AliExpress, out of stock, country not shipped to, weight or size, no shipping method, purchase restricted by AliExpress, an expired AliExpress link, or an incomplete customer address. Seven of those nine come from the supplier or AliExpress. Any other app that buys on AliExpress inherits them.

Fragile variant mapping

DSers links each Shopify variant to a supplier variant. When the supplier edits the listing, the link breaks. One seller says they remap variants on about 40% of orders every day. Another had 500 orders stuck behind a mapping error, and a third lost every mapping at once.

A free plan with tighter limits than it looks

The free Basic plan allows 3,000 products, but no automatic pricing, no price or stock sync, one supplier account, and only 7 days of tracking number sync. A China parcel that takes more than a week to get a tracking number falls outside that window, and you copy it by hand.

Billing surprises

DSers bills in USD through Shopify. One-star reviews mention a canceled trial that still got charged, a refused refund, and an accidental trial billed at $118. Go over your plan's product limit and an extra fee applies, with no amount on the pricing page.

Built around AliExpress

DSers also covers 1688, Alibaba and an agent network, but AliExpress is its core. Sellers asking for alternatives in the Shopify Community point to that focus, to the lack of a product research tool, and to weak multi-supplier handling.

Updates that break daily work

After one update, sellers described paid orders vanishing from DSers, tracking no longer reaching customers, an "unmapped" tab they couldn't order from, and orders taking ten minutes to go through. Others say Tmall was added to their account without their consent.

The 6 alternatives

DSers alternatives, app by app

For each app: why move to it, who it's for, its limit, how to migrate from DSers, and its public price. One habit to keep: compare by product count, not sticker price. Free DSers takes 3,000 products; Spocket takes 25 for $39.99.

01

AutoDS: the most recommended move away from DSers

Best for multiple suppliers

Why move to it. AutoDS fixes the top complaint about DSers: AliExpress dependence. It connects 1,000+ suppliers, from AliExpress to Amazon, Shein and Walmart, plus US and European vendors, and tracks price and stock from the Starter plan up. In the Shopify Community thread asking for a DSers replacement, it's the most cited name (one reply comes from an AutoDS employee, so weigh it).

Who it's for. Sellers mixing Chinese and domestic suppliers, or selling on several channels, who don't want to stack apps.

Who it's not for. A small store running fine on free DSers: AutoDS starts at $26.90 a month for 200 products, and the app is English only.

Its limit. On the App Store: $26.90 (200 products), $39.90 (500 products, price and stock tracking), $66.90 (1,000 products, 3 stores). The website hides prices and lists paid add-ons, such as auto ordering at $9.90 a month, so add up your real total. It also has 7% one-star reviews, against 1% for DSers.

How to migrate. AutoDS detects products already in your Shopify store; you give it each supplier URL instead of rebuilding listings. Export those URLs from DSers first. If AutoDS lets you down too, read our guide to switching from AutoDS.

02

Zendrop: a managed catalog built for US sellers

Best for the US market

Why move to it. Zendrop sells access to a supplier catalog it manages, with unlimited orders on paid plans and $100 in order credits. You stop checking whether an AliExpress seller quietly changed a listing.

Who it's for. Stores selling mainly to US customers that want one partner to handle the supply side.

Who it's not for. Sellers who want to keep their current AliExpress suppliers: the free plan has no automated fulfillment, and the model pushes you toward Zendrop's own catalog.

Its limit. Two price lists exist. The website shows Free, Pro at $49 a month ($399 a year) and Plus at $79 ($549 a year). The App Store counts linked products: Beginner $29 for 1 to 20, Pro $49 for 21 to 100, Plus $79 above that. Billing can sit outside your Shopify invoice, so watch it. 7% one-star reviews.

How to migrate. Find your products in the Zendrop catalog, link them one by one to your Shopify listings, and redo your margins, since supplier price and shipping both change. Place a test order before you turn DSers off.

CJdropshipping: warehouse stock with no app fee

Best for shipping times

Why move to it. CJ is a supplier and sourcing agent, not just an app. It buys, stores stock in local warehouses and ships, with 2 to 3 day delivery advertised from those warehouses. Its extension also imports from 1688, Taobao and AliExpress, and it offers print on demand and private label.

Who it's for. Sellers who have found winners and want faster delivery. A tip from the Shopify Community: test on DSers, then move winners to CJ. You don't have to leave DSers entirely.

Who it's not for. Anyone testing dozens of products a week at the lowest cost: one seller notes CJ shipping sometimes matches the product price.

Its limit. The app is free, but products and services cost extra, in USD, and CJ publishes no warehouse fee schedule. Recent reviews mention supplier stock and prices that don't match, and fees added after payment. Get a written quote before you stock anything.

How to migrate. Start with your top five sellers: ask CJ to source them, compare the landed cost (product plus shipping) with AliExpress, then map only those products in CJ. The rest can stay on DSers during the trial run.

Spocket: a small catalog from US and EU suppliers

Best known for US and EU suppliers

Why move to it. Spocket focuses on US and European suppliers, with shorter shipping times than China. For a niche store with around twenty products, it's an easy exit to understand.

Who it's for. Stores with few SKUs that want faster delivery in the US or Europe.

Who it's not for. Heavy testers: at $39.99 a month, Starter allows just 25 unique products, against 3,000 free on DSers.

Its limit. Starter $39.99 a month (no yearly option), Professional $59.99 ($24 a month billed yearly, 250 products), Empire $99.99 ($57 a month billed yearly, 10,000 products), Unicorn $299.99 ($79 a month billed yearly, 25,000 products). Order fees of 2.9% plus $0.30 come on top. Our review scores it 3 out of 5, with support at 2.2 and value for money at 2.5: read our full Spocket review before paying.

How to migrate. Use the 7-day trial to import your top 25 products, check landed prices and place a test order. If Spocket doesn't fit, see the Spocket alternatives.

Syncee: vetted suppliers, zero commission

Best for zero commission

Why move to it. Syncee is a supplier marketplace covering the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and Australia, with a 0% transaction fee. Limits count per product, not per variant: a T-shirt in ten sizes counts once.

Who it's for. Stores that want domestic suppliers in the US or Europe without holding stock.

Who it's not for. A large, bargain-priced AliExpress catalog: domestic suppliers cost more, and the Basic plan is limited to one supplier.

Its limit. Basic $39.99 a month for 100 products and one supplier, Pro $59.99 for 250 products and unlimited suppliers, Business $99.99 for 10,000 products. The trial lasts just 3 days, so have your product list ready first.

How to migrate. Keep DSers for products Syncee doesn't carry and only move SKUs you found from a domestic supplier. Each order should be handled by exactly one app.

BuckyDrop: your way into 1688 and Taobao

Best for 1688 and Taobao

Why move to it. BuckyDrop buys for you on six Chinese marketplaces: 1688, Taobao, Tmall, Alibaba, AliExpress and Weidian. On 1688 you pay domestic Chinese prices, often below AliExpress.

Who it's for. Sellers with a proven product who want a lower unit cost, or who already find products on 1688 and Taobao.

Who it's not for. Anyone who needs to know per-order costs upfront: service and packing fees are billed outside Shopify, and BuckyDrop doesn't publish the schedule.

Its limit. Free covers 100 mapped products, 100 imports, 1,000 stock and price updates and 30 auto orders. Pro, at $29.90 a month, goes to 1,000 mapped products and unlimited orders. It has only 87 App Store reviews so far.

How to migrate. Start on the free plan with your best sellers, ask for the fee breakdown on your first order and compare landed cost with DSers. DSers also supports 1688: if that's your only reason to leave, try it there first.

Migration plan

Switch from DSers in seven steps

No app imports DSers variant mapping as is. Your product listings live in Shopify and stay put. The real work is linking each variant to a supplier again without letting an order slip between two apps.

01

Export your mapping to a spreadsheet

Day 1

For each product: Shopify product ID, every variant ID, supplier URL and supplier SKU. Screenshot every DSers mapping screen too, especially advanced setups (supplier by destination country, BOGO, bundles). That's your safety net if anything gets lost.

Time
before any switch
Output
one sheet, screenshots
02

Clear open orders in DSers

Days 1 to 3

Orders don't migrate. Fulfill every pending order from DSers, log the tracking numbers and keep DSers installed until all tracking has reached your customers. Don't switch during a peak sales period.

Rule
zero open orders before the switch
03

Install the new app alongside

Day 2

Install the new app without removing DSers. They can run side by side on one condition: each order is handled by one app only. Write the rule down (for example: any product already mapped in the new app ships through it).

04

Remap in batches

Week 1

Start with low-risk products, then your best sellers. Check every variant (size, color, bundle quantity) and recalculate margin: the new supplier's shipping and delivery time change your landed cost. Takeover tools like AutoDS detect existing products and only ask for the supplier URL, which is where your spreadsheet pays off.

Batch size
10 to 20 products
05

Place a test order

Week 1

Order a mapped product yourself through the new app and follow it until the tracking number lands in Shopify. Until it does, don't switch anything off.

06

Never fulfill a DSers order from Shopify

During the switch

Clicking "Fulfill" in Shopify on a DSers order makes it impossible to process in DSers, and the request can't be undone. While both apps run, every order ships from the app that owns it, never from Shopify.

07

Downgrade to Basic, then uninstall

Last

Rather than paying through the transition, downgrade to free Basic, which keeps 7 days of tracking sync. Once the last tracking numbers are in, uninstall DSers. For a refund, contact Shopify support: Shopify bills on DSers' behalf.

Migration pitfalls

What makes a DSers switch go wrong

The same mistakes keep coming up in reviews and forums. None of them is technical: it's about order of operations and caution.

Leaving over an AliExpress problem

An expired AliExpress link can be re-linked inside DSers. A supplier changing its SKU will break your mapping in AutoDS or BuckyDrop too. Read the failure reason on the order before you leave.

Uninstalling before exporting

Once DSers is gone, you can't look up your mapping anymore. The spreadsheet and screenshots come first, never after.

Comparing prices instead of product counts

Spocket at $39.99 covers 25 products, AutoDS at $26.90 covers 200, Zendrop counts linked products, Syncee counts products, not variants. Convert every price to your actual product count.

Forgetting fees outside the plan

Order fees at Spocket, paid add-ons at AutoDS, service fees at BuckyDrop and CJ: the subscription is only part of the bill. Run a real order before you judge.

Letting two apps fulfill the same order

While both apps run, an order fulfilled twice is a parcel paid twice. A simple per-product rule prevents it.

Canceling without going through Shopify

DSers bills through Shopify. Ask Shopify support for refunds, and confirm the cancellation in your store's app billing list.

  • Failure reason read on failed orders
  • Mapping spreadsheet exported
  • Advanced mapping screenshotted
  • Open orders cleared in DSers
  • New app installed alongside
  • "One order, one app" rule written down
  • Remapped in batches, margins redone
  • Test order delivered with tracking
  • DSers downgraded to Basic
  • Uninstalled, refund requested via Shopify if needed
FAQ · 8 questions

DSers alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • What is the best alternative to DSers?

AutoDS for most stores that want to move beyond AliExpress: 1,000+ suppliers, from $26.90 a month for 200 products. If your problem is delivery time, CJdropshipping is the better fit, and its app is free. For US-focused stores that want a managed catalog, look at Zendrop.

  • Is there a free alternative to DSers?

Yes, three: CJdropshipping (free app, you pay for products and services), BuckyDrop (free up to 100 mapped products and 30 auto orders) and Syncee's free plan. None reaches 3,000 products like DSers Basic, so for a large catalog the free DSers plan is hard to beat.

  • Is DSers really free?

The Basic plan is, with 3,000 products and 3 stores. But it has no automatic pricing, no price or stock sync, and only 7 days of tracking sync. An extra fee applies above the product limit. The first paid plan, Advanced, is $19.90 a month with a 14-day trial.

  • DSers vs AutoDS: which one?

DSers if you sell mostly AliExpress products and want to spend little: its free plan covers 3,000 products. AutoDS if you want to mix suppliers and track prices automatically, from $26.90 a month. AutoDS has a higher share of negative reviews (7% one-star against 1%).

  • Why do my DSers orders fail?

Usually for one of these reasons: the supplier changed its SKU, the item is out of stock or removed, the country isn't shipped to, or your AliExpress link expired. In that last case, re-link your AliExpress account in DSers. Also check that nobody fulfilled the order from Shopify.

  • How do I cancel DSers and get a refund?

Downgrade to Basic in DSers to stop the charge, then uninstall if you're leaving. For a refund, contact Shopify support, which bills on DSers' behalf. Then check your store's billing to confirm the subscription is gone.

  • Do I lose my products if I uninstall DSers?

No: your product listings stay in Shopify. You do lose the links between your variants and suppliers, and access to past orders placed through DSers. Export your mapping and log your tracking numbers before uninstalling.

  • Does DSers ship from US warehouses?

Not as its core model: DSers mostly connects you to AliExpress sellers, with 1688, Alibaba and an agent network on top. If you want US warehouse stock, CJdropshipping, Zendrop and Spocket are built for it. Many sellers test on DSers, then move proven products to a warehouse supplier.
