Systeme.io alternatives: where to go and how to switch without breaking things

Seven destinations, one per reason to leave, and an eight-step migration plan.

The short answer: Kajabi if your revenue justifies a step up, Thinkific if the course is the product, Podia to sell a few products simply, ClickFunnels if you live in your funnels, HighLevel for an agency, Kit if your newsletter does the selling, Kartra if your business is already profitable and wants an established all-in-one. One thing first: Systeme.io exports your contacts and transactions as CSV, and nothing else. Funnels, courses and automations get rebuilt by hand. We compared these seven destinations and checked their prices in 2026.

The real reasons

Why people end up leaving Systeme.io

Systeme.io has a generous free plan and low prices, which is why so many start there. People leave later, once the business grows. Five reasons keep coming up in reviews and forums.

Contact tiers that force an upgrade

Free holds 2,000 contacts, Startup 5,000 ($17/month), Webinar 10,000 ($47). Contact number 5,001 moves you from $17 to $47 a month, $360 more per year for one contact too many. Archive inactive contacts before you get there.

A limited email editor

Email sends are unlimited, but you can't paste your own HTML, and users miss a shareable preview link. For a polished newsletter that gets old fast.

Pages that resist customization

Templates are quick, but user reviews often mention rigid design. A brand that wants a sales page that's truly its own ends up fighting the editor.

Shallow automations

The free plan has one automation rule, and reviewers find workflows hard to set up once logic gets more involved (conditions, multiple branches).

Everything in one place, including the risk

Site, funnels, courses and email share one account. On review sites, a few users describe accounts locked without warning, and everything stops at once. Always keep a recent contact export.

The 7 alternatives

Systeme.io alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why move there, who it fits, the catch, how to migrate, and what it costs. Prices are the ones shown in 2026, in US dollars.

01

Kajabi: the upgrade once revenue is steady

Most complete

Why move to it. Kajabi is roughly what Systeme.io becomes when money is no object: better-looking sites, a mobile app for students, community, coaching and email in one account. Page design, the most common complaint about Systeme.io, is far less boxed in.

Who it fits. Creators with consistent revenue who want a more polished storefront.

Who should skip it. Anyone just starting out. There's no free plan, and Basic is $179 a month.

The catch. Basic caps you at 5 products and 2,500 contacts, so a 6,000-contact list puts you on Growth at $249 a month. Use a payment provider other than Kajabi Payments and Kajabi adds a 2% fee on Basic.

Moving from Systeme.io. Import your contacts CSV, rebuild products one by one from your source videos, and use the free trial to finish one full course before you cancel Systeme.io.

Pricing. Basic $179/month ($143 billed annually), Growth $249 ($199), Pro $499 ($399).

Thinkific: when the course is the business

Course-first

Why move to it. If courses are what you sell, Thinkific gives you a deeper learning setup than Systeme.io: communities with spaces, group features, up to 10,000 current students on every plan, and a 30-day trial long enough to rebuild a full course before paying.

Who it fits. Course businesses and training companies that care about the student experience more than funnels.

Who should skip it. Funnel-heavy marketers. Thinkific isn't built around multi-step sales funnels or bulk email.

The catch. There's no free plan, and Start costs $109 a month. External gateways like Stripe or PayPal carry an extra fee that varies by plan.

Moving from Systeme.io. Export contacts and transactions as CSV, enroll past buyers into the matching course, and switch off welcome emails during the import.

Pricing. Start $109/month ($82 billed annually), Grow $219 ($164), Expand $499 ($374). 30-day free trial.

Podia: sell courses and downloads without the clutter

Simplest

Why move to it. Podia keeps the simplicity that drew you to Systeme.io, with a clean storefront for courses, downloads, webinars and memberships. Most people are set up in an evening.

Who it fits. Creators selling a handful of digital products who don't need multi-step funnels.

Who should skip it. Big email lists. Included email stops at 100 subscribers on Mover and 1,000 on Earthquaker.

The catch. Mover takes 5% of every sale, on top of Stripe or PayPal fees. Podia's own fee drops to zero from Shaker up.

Moving from Systeme.io. Import customers by CSV, recreate each product, then plug in a dedicated email tool if your list outgrows the included quota.

Pricing. Mover $49/month ($42 billed annually), Shaker $99 ($84), Earthquaker $179 ($150). 14-day trial, no card.

ClickFunnels: when funnels are the whole game

Advanced funnels

Why move to it. Hit the 10-funnel cap on Startup or the 50 on Webinar? ClickFunnels removes it on its entry plan: unlimited funnels, 10,000 contacts, 3 courses, plus A/B testing and one-click upsells built for conversion work.

Who it fits. Sellers of $97+ offers who live inside their funnels and split-test constantly.

Who should skip it. Course libraries. Launch includes 3 courses, Scale 6.

The catch. It starts at $97 a month, while Systeme.io runs a first funnel for $0. The jump only pays off if your funnels convert well enough to cover it.

Moving from Systeme.io. Rebuild funnels from ClickFunnels templates instead of copying pages pixel for pixel, import your contacts CSV, and keep Systeme.io running until payments clear on the new funnels.

Pricing. Launch $97/month ($81 billed annually), Scale $197 ($164), Optimize $297 ($248). 14-day trial.

HighLevel: for agencies running many clients

Agencies

Why move to it. HighLevel adds what an agency misses in Systeme.io: a real CRM with pipelines, booking, SMS, and separate sub-accounts per client. Contacts and users are unlimited from Starter.

Who it fits. Agencies and consultants handling marketing for several clients.

Who should skip it. Solo creators. It's dense, and getting comfortable takes weeks, not hours.

The catch. Email and SMS are billed on usage on top of the subscription, whereas Systeme.io email is unlimited. Work out your volume before comparing.

Moving from Systeme.io. Create a sub-account, import the CSV with tags, then rebuild funnels from templates and automations in the workflow builder.

Pricing. Starter $97/month (3 sub-accounts), Unlimited $297, Founder $497. 14-day trial.

Kit: when your newsletter is the business

Newsletter

Why move to it. Plenty of Systeme.io users mainly use it for email and find it thin: no custom HTML, no shareable preview link. Kit is built for creator email, with a free plan up to 10,000 subscribers and digital product sales included.

Who it fits. Creators whose newsletter drives revenue, with one or two simple products.

Who should skip it. Course schools. Kit doesn't host full courses, so you'd pair it with a course platform.

The catch. The free plan has a single user, and every sale costs 3.5% + $0.30. The first paid plan is $390 a year for 1,000 subscribers.

Moving from Systeme.io. Import the CSV and keep Systeme.io tags as Kit tags, then rebuild your sequences. Our full Kit review breaks down the plans.

Pricing. Free up to 10,000 subscribers; Creator $390/year for 1,000 subscribers ($33/month billed annually; month-to-month costs more).

Kartra: the US all-in-one, for bigger volumes

All-in-one

Why move to it. Kartra covers the same ground as Systeme.io (pages, funnels, courses, email, affiliates, webinars) with deeper payment and membership tools.

Who it fits. Profitable online businesses that want an established all-in-one.

Who should skip it. Tight budgets. Nothing useful sits under $119 a month, and support is ticket-only below the top plan.

The catch. Essentials ($59) takes 5% of every sale; Zapier, the API and affiliates wait for Growth at $229 a month. Our Kartra review scores it 3.1 out of 5.

Moving from Systeme.io. Import your contacts CSV, rebuild products and funnels from templates, and recreate sequences by hand.

Pricing. Essentials $59/month, Starter $119, Growth $229, Professional $549.

The 7 alternatives side by side

For a sense of scale, take a 6,000-contact list: Systeme.io puts you on Webinar at $47 a month, ClickFunnels Launch costs $97 (up to 10,000 contacts), HighLevel Starter $97 plus usage-based email, and Kajabi Growth $249, since Basic stops at 2,500 contacts. Staying put is an option too: Systeme.io Unlimited, at $97 a month, removes every contact and funnel cap.

Migration plan

Moving off Systeme.io in eight steps

Order matters. Each step protects something: your contacts, your students, your revenue or your sender reputation.

01

List everything running in Systeme.io

Day 1

Write down every funnel and its pages, every course and module, every automation rule and workflow, campaigns, the blog, the affiliate program, domains, and products with prices. A screenshot per workflow is enough.

Why bother? Systeme.io only exports two things, contacts and transactions. Everything else gets rebuilt, and whatever isn't on the list gets forgotten.

Time
half a day
Risk if rushed
a forgotten funnel
02

Export contacts and transactions as CSV

Day 1

Go to CRM, then Contacts, select all, then More actions and Export. The CSV is emailed to you and the link only works for a short time, so download it right away. Do the same for transactions, which tell you who bought what.

Tip: export one segment per tag instead of one big list. Each file becomes a tag or list in the new tool.

Format
CSV by email
Deadline

03

Gather your course content

Week 1

Lessons don't come out in one click. Pull your source videos from your drive or video host, copy text and PDFs module by module, and note the lesson order.

If your videos only live online now, budget time to recover them. It's usually what stretches a course migration.

Time
1 to 3 days

04

Rebuild funnels and courses in the new tool

Weeks 1 to 2

Start with the funnel that earns the most, then your most-taken course. Rebuild from the new tool's templates rather than cloning every pixel: it's faster and usually cleaner.

Order

pixel-perfect copies
05

Re-enroll students without spamming them

Week 2

Import buyers from the transactions CSV and grant access to the right course. Turn off automated welcome emails first, or students from two years ago get a surprise "Welcome!" and fresh logins.

Then send one clear email: the new address, how to log in, who to contact.

Risk

06

Move payments and subscriptions

Week 2

Active subscriptions live with your payment provider (Stripe or PayPal). Check whether the new tool can take them over or whether customers must resubscribe. Run a real low-price purchase before sending traffic.

07

Repoint your domain and links

Pitfalls

What makes a Systeme.io exit go wrong

The same slips show up migration after migration. None are technical, and each costs more than the time it would have taken to avoid.

Letting the export expire

The CSV link expires quickly. People request it on a Friday and look for it the next Wednesday. Download it on arrival and keep a copy outside your inbox.

Importing unsubscribes as subscribers

It breaks consent and hurts deliverability. Keep their status or leave them out.

Closing the old account too soon

Drop to Free instead of deleting. Late sign-ups and pending purchases still land there during the switch.

Forgetting affiliates

Affiliate links point to Systeme.io. Warn your affiliates and hand them new links before you cut over.

Underestimating new fees

Systeme.io takes no cut of your sales. Podia Mover (5%), Kartra Essentials (5%) and Kit (3.5% + $0.30) do. Run the numbers on a full year of revenue.

Rebuilding without pruning

A migration is the moment to drop funnels that stopped selling. Only rebuild what made money in the last six months.

FAQ · 7 questions

Systeme.io alternatives: common questions

  • What's the best free alternative to Systeme.io?

If email is your main channel, Kit is free up to 10,000 subscribers. Among the course and funnel platforms here, none has a permanent free plan: Thinkific gives 30 days of trial, Podia, ClickFunnels and HighLevel 14.

  • Can I export my courses from Systeme.io?

No. Systeme.io's help center documents CSV exports for contacts and transactions, not courses. Keep your source videos and text; that's what you'll upload to the new platform.

  • Will I lose my students if I switch?

Not if you re-enroll them yourself. Export transactions to see who bought what, grant access in the new tool, then send one email with the new login address.

  • Is Kajabi worth it over Systeme.io?

Only with steady revenue. Kajabi Basic costs $179 a month against $17 for Systeme.io Startup, a $1,944 gap over a year. You pay for design freedom, a student app and support.

  • What happens to my active subscriptions?

They depend on your payment provider, not on Systeme.io. Check whether the new tool connects to the same Stripe or PayPal account; if not, warn subscribers and keep the old funnel live until their last billing date.

  • How long does a migration take?

Plan one to two weeks for an account with a few funnels and one course, following the eight steps above. Recovering videos and rebuilding pages almost always takes longest.

  • Should I leave Systeme.io if my account was locked?

First, ask support for a contact export, that's the priority. Then spread the risk: many keep their list in a separate email tool like Kit and their courses elsewhere. Our sales funnel software ranking helps you choose.
