Taplio alternatives: where to go and how to bring your posts

Seven destinations, one per reason for leaving, plus a six-step migration plan.

The short answer: Supergrow if you want an AI writing assistant for the price of Taplio's entry plan, AuthoredUp if you write your own posts and want to pay half, Buffer if all you did was schedule. Waalaxy is the pick if you mainly used Taplio for outreach, and Hootsuite fits a team running several networks. Before you go, export your posts to CSV and check your next billing date: Taplio refunds on request within 30 days of a payment.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why so many people cancel Taplio

On paper, Taplio is still the most complete LinkedIn tool around: a viral post library, an editor, scheduling, analytics, a lead database, DMs, even an official MCP server so Claude can drive it. Features aren't the issue. On the review site with the most reviews, half of its 20 reviews are one star, and the same six complaints keep coming back.

AI only starts on the second plan

Starter costs $39 a month ($32 billed yearly) and doesn't include AI writing, according to Taplio's detailed pricing page: you get scheduling and basic analytics. To really write with AI you need Growth, at $69 a month ($49 billed yearly). And pricing is per LinkedIn account, so two profiles means two subscriptions.

Renewals with no heads-up

This is the most common complaint in reviews: the yearly plan renews and the card gets charged with no reminder email. That's $384 on Starter or $588 on Growth in one hit. Taplio often replies and refunds, but only if you ask within 30 days of the charge.

AI that reads like AI

People who leave describe robotic posts and suggestions that miss the point, so everything needs rewriting before it goes out. Some also complain about AI credits burned on simple comments. Growth promises a monthly AI allowance "sized for daily posting" (the plan table mentions 250 AI credits without saying which plan gets them); only Pro, at $199 a month, makes it unlimited.

Built for one person, not a team

Reviews call it clunky once you add users or profiles. The team and agency offer promises savings of up to 30%, but there's no public price: you have to talk to sales.

An extension running on your session cookie

Part of Taplio works through its Chrome extension and your logged-in LinkedIn session, not LinkedIn's official API. Taplio's own advice, if your account gets restricted, is to disconnect every third-party tool. If your profile is where your business comes from, weigh that risk.

No weekend support

Several users report no replies on Saturdays and Sundays, while others praise fast weekday support. For a tool that posts on your behalf, a Friday night bug can still cost you two days of content.

The 7 alternatives

Taplio alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, where it falls short, how to move over, and what it costs. Prices are what each vendor shows on its pricing page in 2026. Every publishing tool here prices in US dollars, like Taplio; Waalaxy, a French company, prices in euros. You won't find Typefully here: its pricing page shows no readable amounts. We couldn't verify MagicPost or Reepl, and Lempod relies on engagement pods that go against LinkedIn's rules.

01

Supergrow: the closest swap, AI included

Closest to Taplio

Why switch to Supergrow. It covers more of Taplio's ground than anything else for the price of Taplio's entry plan. At $39 a month ($31 billed yearly), the Pro plan already includes what Taplio keeps for Growth: a writing assistant trained on your voice, unlimited AI interviews to pull ideas out of your head, repurposing of YouTube videos and PDFs into posts, carousels, scheduling with a calendar, and an auto-posted first comment. You also get an engagement module, analytics and its own MCP server.

Who it's for. Consultants, founders and creators who post several times a week and want an AI first draft without paying $69 for it.

Who it's not for. Anyone who relied on Taplio's lead database and DMs to sell. Supergrow is a content tool.

The catch. No free plan, and the trial lasts 7 days. Teams costs $199 a month ($189 billed yearly) for 5 accounts, and that's where team approval workflows live; Pro doesn't have them.

How to move over. Export your Taplio posts to CSV first (see the migration plan below) and feed your best ones to the assistant so it learns your tone. Handy detail: when the trial ends, Supergrow pauses your account for free instead of charging you automatically. So start the trial only once your Taplio queue is copied, and judge it on a real week of posting.

AuthoredUp: write it yourself, pay half

Cheapest for writers

Why switch to AuthoredUp. If you write your own posts and barely touched Taplio's AI, you're paying for a feature you don't use. AuthoredUp costs $19.95 a month, or $16.63 billed yearly ($199.50 a year). You get an editor with an exact mobile and desktop preview, a library of 300+ hooks, a heatmap of the best times to post, advanced analytics, CSV export, and an analytics API.

Who it's for. People who can write and mostly want to measure what works. Teams too: Business is $14.95 per profile per month ($12.46 billed yearly), with a 3-profile minimum.

Who it's not for. Anyone who wants the tool to write for them. The AI assistant, Coauthor, is still in closed beta, even though some AI credits are included.

The catch. Scheduling runs through the browser extension, just like Taplio, so this isn't the pick that removes extension risk. Company pages are free, which is rare.

How to move over. It's the easiest tool to land in: AuthoredUp imports the data archive LinkedIn gives you, so your post history comes back without touching Taplio's CSV. The free trial doesn't ask for a credit card.

Buffer: if all you did was schedule

Free to start

Why switch to Buffer. Plenty of people stay on Taplio Starter, at $39 a month, for one thing: queuing posts. And according to Taplio, that plan doesn't include AI writing anyway. Buffer auto-publishes to your personal LinkedIn profile for free on 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Beyond that, Essentials is $5 per channel per month ($60 a year) and Team is $10 per channel ($120 a year), with unlimited users.

Who it's for. People who write elsewhere and just want a clean queue, on LinkedIn and other networks.

Who it's not for. Anyone who runs their profile by the numbers. On a personal LinkedIn profile, Buffer gives you basic analytics, not advanced ones.

The catch. The auto first comment is paid-only. The free plan holds up as long as you keep fewer than 10 posts queued per channel.

How to move over. Copy your Taplio queue into Buffer post by post, keeping the same time slots. Paid plans come with a 14-day trial. If you end up weighing several schedulers, we also have a guide to switching from Buffer.

ContentIn: unlimited AI on a budget, for lighter posting

Budget AI

Why switch to ContentIn. Its Pro plan gives you unlimited AI (fair use) for $59 a month, or $48 billed yearly. That beats Taplio Growth month to month, with no fuzzy credit allowance. Pro also handles company pages.

Who it's for. People who post two or three times a week and mostly need help finding ideas and drafting.

Who it's not for. Daily posters. That's the limit that matters here.

The catch. Scheduling is capped per week: 2 scheduled posts on Growth ($39 a month, $31 billed yearly, with 50 AI ideas and 4 carousels a month), 3 on Pro. Anything beyond that you publish by hand. No free plan, and the 7-day trial needs a card.

How to move over. Keep your exported Taplio posts handy to teach the AI your style, and only queue your two or three most important posts each week. One upside: your first payment is refundable for 30 days.

Kleo: generate without counting, if you post a lot

Unlimited generation

Why switch to Kleo. Kleo sells one plan: $99 a month or $999 a year. For that you get unlimited post generation and 20 visuals a month. That's half the price of Taplio Pro ($199), the only Taplio plan where AI has no ceiling.

Who it's for. Creators who post every day and need a pile of drafts to keep a few.

Who it's not for. Teams and agencies: multi-profile support is listed as "coming soon", so it isn't there yet. And anyone posting once a week, for whom $99 a month is steep.

The catch. No free trial. The 30-day money-back guarantee only covers the yearly plan, not monthly.

How to move over. With no trial, line up a batch of your best Taplio posts before paying so you can judge it on day one. If you go yearly, note the payment date: you have 30 days to change your mind.

Waalaxy: if Taplio was really your outreach tool

Outreach

Why switch to Waalaxy. A chunk of Taplio users are there for the lead database and DMs, not for posting. For that job, a prospecting tool does better. Waalaxy automates LinkedIn invites and messages, 300 to 800 invites a month depending on the plan, fully in the cloud. We scored it 3.8 out of 5 in our Waalaxy review.

Who it's for. Sales reps, founders and freelancers who used Taplio to find prospects and message them.

Who it's not for. Anyone who wants to schedule posts: Waalaxy doesn't. You'll need a publishing tool next to it, Buffer for instance.

The catch. The listed prices, Pro at €19, Advanced at €49 and Business at €69 per user per month, assume you pay a year upfront. Month to month, Business is €139. Cold email is Business-only, and there's no longer a free plan that automates anything.

How to move over. Rebuild your prospect lists in Waalaxy before you cut Taplio, and turn your best DMs into templates. For a full playbook, read our guide on how to automate LinkedIn prospecting.

Hootsuite: when a team runs several networks

Multi-network teams

Why switch to Hootsuite. If Taplio feels clunky because several people post for several brands, on LinkedIn and beyond, your need has changed. Hootsuite is built for that: one tool for every network, multiple users, and a 14-day trial.

Who it's for. Marketing teams and agencies managing accounts across networks who need approval flows.

Who it's not for. The solo LinkedIn creator. It's oversized, and so is the bill.

The catch. Standard starts at $99 per user per month, Professional is $199 and Advanced goes up to $399, all billed yearly. No monthly price is listed. And Hootsuite has no AI built specifically for writing LinkedIn posts the way Taplio or Supergrow do.

How to move over. Run the 14-day trial with your real queue, across all your networks at once. Before signing a year, compare it with Supergrow Teams (5 accounts for $199 a month) if LinkedIn is your only channel. And if Hootsuite isn't right either, here are the Hootsuite alternatives.

Migration plan

Leave Taplio in six steps

Taplio holds very little you can't get back, but nothing moves on its own. Order matters: save first, rebuild second, cancel last.

01

List what Taplio actually does for you

First

Open Taplio and write down what's running: scheduled posts (how many, how far out), drafts, contact lists, ongoing DM threads, and any auto-add rules for people who like or comment on your posts. That list picks your tool for you. If it's only a queue, Buffer is enough; if it includes prospect lists, you also need Waalaxy. Finally, note your next billing date in the billing section.

Time
about 30 minutes
Risk if rushed

02

Export your published posts to CSV

Backup

In Taplio, go to Analytics, open Detailed Posts Performance, click the three dots, then Export CSV. You get your published posts and their numbers. Keep the file: it teaches your next tool's AI your own style, and it lets you compare performance before and after the switch.

What comes out
published posts and stats
What doesn't
drafts and scheduled posts
03

Request your data archive from LinkedIn

Safety net

On LinkedIn, go to Settings, then Data privacy, then Get a copy of your data. Tick Shares (your posts): that file is usually ready within 48 hours, and the download link only works for 72 hours. Do it the same day as the Taplio export. This archive doesn't depend on any tool, and AuthoredUp can import it directly.

Wait

04

Rescue drafts and scheduled posts

By hand

We found no CSV export for drafts or scheduled posts in Taplio. Two options: copy them one by one into a doc, or, if you use Claude, go through Taplio's official MCP server, which can list your drafts and posts. Ask it for the full list, text included, before you touch the subscription.

05

Rebuild the queue in the new tool, then clear Taplio

No duplicates

Schedule your upcoming posts in the new tool, in the same slots. Only then delete the scheduled posts in Taplio. Skip this and the same post goes out twice, minutes apart, from two tools. Check your profile during the first week to make sure each post appears once.

Cancel at the right time and ask for a refund

Save money

Cancel from Settings, then Billing, before your renewal date. If a charge just went through, you have 30 days to request a refund: email support with the date and amount. Several users report that support doesn't answer on weekends, so send it on a weekday and don't leave it to the last day.

Migration pitfalls

What makes a Taplio exit go wrong

The same mistakes show up again and again in reviews from people who left. None of them hurt if you see them coming.

Missing the renewal date

Taplio doesn't always send a reminder before the yearly renewal. Put an alert in your calendar a week ahead. If you've already been charged, the 30-day refund window is still open.

Judging Taplio on its trial

The 7-day trial unlocks full Pro. So you judge unlimited AI at $199 a month, then pay for Starter with no AI writing or Growth with a capped allowance. Compare alternatives with what you really pay, not with what you saw in the trial.

Posting the same thing twice

This is the cutover trap: two tools, one queue. Delete each scheduled post in Taplio as soon as it exists elsewhere, and keep a checklist.

Forgetting outreach

A publishing tool doesn't replace Taplio's lead database or DMs. If you used them, set up your prospecting tool before you cut over, or your open conversations go cold.

Stacking extensions

Leaving the Taplio extension on next to a new tool that also uses one means more connections to your LinkedIn session. Uninstall Taplio's extension on switch day. If your account gets restricted, disconnect every third-party tool.

Losing your history

Once the plan is closed, your analytics are gone. Run the CSV export and the LinkedIn archive request before you cancel, not after, and download the archive within 72 hours.

  • List of scheduled posts, drafts and contact lists
  • Next billing date written down
  • CSV export of published posts downloaded
  • LinkedIn archive requested and downloaded within 72 hours
  • Drafts copied or listed through the MCP server

  • Scheduled posts deleted in Taplio

FAQ · 8 questions

Taplio alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • Is Taplio worth it in 2026?

Only if you use most of it. If you post daily with AI, prospect from its lead database and send DMs, Growth at $49 a month billed yearly is fair. If you only write, AuthoredUp costs less than half; if you only schedule, Buffer starts free. Remember the price is per LinkedIn account.

  • Is Taplio safe for my LinkedIn account?

Nothing shows Taplio gets accounts banned, but the risk isn't zero. Part of it runs through the extension and your LinkedIn session rather than the official API. Taplio itself tells restricted users to disconnect every third-party tool. If your profile is your main sales channel, go easy on engagement automation and favor a tool that only publishes.

  • What is cheaper than Taplio?

For AI writing, Supergrow Pro is $31 a month billed yearly versus $49 for Taplio Growth, and ContentIn Growth is $31 too. If you write yourself, AuthoredUp is $16.63 a month billed yearly and Buffer is free for 3 channels. All of those are per account, like Taplio.

  • Does Taplio have a free plan?

No. There's a 7-day trial with full Pro access, and the Chrome extension stays free without a subscription. Paid plans start at $32 a month billed yearly. If free matters most, Buffer's free plan covers scheduling on a personal LinkedIn profile, 10 queued posts per channel.

  • How do I cancel Taplio and get a refund?

Cancel in Settings, then Billing, before your renewal date. Taplio refunds on request within 30 days of a payment, monthly or yearly. Email support on a weekday with the charge date, since several users report no replies on weekends; one user says they got a full year refunded.

  • What's the best Taplio alternative for agencies?

Supergrow Teams, at $199 a month for 5 accounts with post approvals. AuthoredUp Business is cheaper per head at $14.95 per profile per month, with a 3-profile minimum. If the team also runs other networks, look at Hootsuite, from $99 per user per month billed yearly.

  • Is Kleo better than Taplio?

For heavy posters, it's cheaper: unlimited generation and 20 visuals for $99 a month, half of Taplio Pro. For two posts a week, it's overkill. There's no trial, and the 30-day guarantee only covers the $999 yearly plan.

  • Can I keep my posts and stats when I leave Taplio?

Your published posts stay on LinkedIn, and you can export their stats to CSV from Taplio before you go. Drafts and scheduled posts don't export to CSV: copy them or list them through the MCP server. Your LinkedIn data archive fills the gaps, and AuthoredUp can import it.
