Why it helps when you need a site fast
Getting a website off the ground usually means picking a template, writing copy, sorting out structure and fiddling for hours. With this extension installed in Claude Desktop, you give Claude your project's name and a description of what it should show, and it calls B12's tool, which generates the site with AI, design, code and copy included.
A first draft for a new business. A dog groomer opening in Austin describes services and goals; generate_website takes that name and description and produces the site from them.
A page for a one-off project. A community theater putting on a summer show spells out the structure it wants, cast, dates, tickets, in the same description. The publisher lists goals and structure among what that description can carry.
Testing two angles. A freelance designer torn between two positionings can describe each to Claude and see what each version turns into.
What the sources don't say, so this page doesn't promise it: where the site is hosted, which account it lands in, whether it goes live right away, and how you edit it afterwards. B12 publishes no documentation on this extension. Claude doesn't read anything at B12 either; the only tool creates. And nothing runs on its own: the tool is only called during a conversation. B12 has no n8n, Make or Zapier page on our site; the Integrations page lists the ones that exist.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five terms worth knowing before you install B12 Website Generator.
- Connector
- The link you install once between Claude and a service, so Claude can use it while it answers you.
- Tool
- A named capability the connector hands to Claude. Claude decides when to call it; the directory listing gives its name.
- Authorization
- The service's screen where you grant Claude access, once per person, and where you can take it back later.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for in the chat before an action that creates or changes something on your behalf.
- MCP
- The standard connectors are built on; it is what lets an assistant hold a conversation with an outside service.
Install B12 Website Generator in Claude in three steps
- 01
Open Claude Desktop
This extension installs on your computer and only works with Claude Desktop. In its settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for B12 Website Generator in the list.
- 02
Run the install
Click Connect on its row and follow the windows that appear. If the extension ever stops responding, Disconnect it and install it again; that's the documented repair.
- 03
Read what you accept
If B12 shows an authorization screen, that screen, not Claude, decides what the access covers. Read it before you confirm; access granted there can also be withdrawn from the service side.
The tool behind the Claude B12 Website Generator connector
B12 Website Generator gives Claude 1 tool: 0 that read your account, 1 that change something in it.
One tool, filed under write because it creates something. Its name stays exactly as Claude shows it.
- 1 write
What Claude creates (1)
1 toolOne tool that produces a website. No source describes a dedicated confirmation, so the general rule below applies.
generate_website
Approval: see the ruleBuilds a website with AI from two things you supply: the name of the project or business, and a description covering its goals and structure.
What Claude asks before it acts
By default, Claude stops and asks for your OK before each action it takes on an account for you. Generating a site is one of those actions.
On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members may let certain actions through without being asked again. They can also limit what a connector may do across the organization, keeping reads and closing writes; here that would shut off the only tool. Nobody gets around that setting from a personal account, and in every case Claude never holds more rights than the person who installed it.
Which plans it's available on
None of the 819 directory listings shows plan availability: that information isn't published anywhere, connector by connector.
Anthropic's general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and desktop extensions like this one install on Claude Desktop. On Team or Enterprise, an Owner enables them first. For the real status, open the extension's listing in the official directory.
Where this connector stops
A connector isn't an automation: Claude calls this tool while it answers you, and nothing gets generated on its own.
The directory's partner badge isn't a security audit, and Anthropic says so on every listing: it doesn't choose the tools a publisher exposes and doesn't guarantee they behave as described. Only add what comes from a publisher you know, here B12. The listing shows one write tool, but a public list is a snapshot, not a guaranteed inventory. To compare with a connector whose many tools are documented, see the Claude activecampaign connector.
