Claude Braze connectorWhat Claude can do in your Braze account.

The Claude Braze connector exposes 42 tools. 32 read campaign, Canvas, segment and KPI data, 5 create or update content, and 5 are described nowhere. Below: what Claude can analyse, what content it can touch, and what Braze keeps out of reach.

Overview

What changes for CRM and lifecycle marketing teams

Braze runs your campaigns, Canvases and segments. With the connector, the aggregated analytics behind them become something you can question in Claude, and a small set of content tools lets it prepare email templates, content blocks and media. Braze keeps user-level personal data out of every tool, so Claude works on totals, not on individual profiles.

A performance read in one question. get_campaign_dataseries and get_canvas_data_summary return day-by-day and rolled-up results, and Claude explains what moved and when.

The health of the audience. get_segment_data_series, get_dau_data_series and get_uninstalls_data_series track segment size, daily actives and uninstalls, so a spike can be set against your send calendar.

Content prepared in the conversation. create_email_template and update_content_block put drafted content into Braze, and create_media_library_asset uploads the visual that goes with it.

What Claude will not do here. No tool returns data from Braze user profiles. The directory sheet carries no tool that launches or stops a campaign, and five names on it are documented nowhere. Braze itself advises against letting a client act automatically. Nothing runs on its own either: no tool fires when a Canvas underperforms. For scheduled data flows, the Braze Make integration does a different job, background scenarios rather than conversation. More connectors sit on the Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

Five words before you plug it in

The vocabulary you will meet while connecting Braze.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in that account while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing the connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the ones it needs by itself, and the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use later. Given once per person, and taken back the same way.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes through with a change to your account, shown in the chat at the moment it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude talk to an outside service like Braze.
Connect

Connecting Braze to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Braze in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Braze in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to switch the connector on before each member can sign in.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Braze in the window the service opens itself. If the link breaks later, Disconnect and connect again from the same row.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read Braze's screen before you accept it. It belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from your Braze account itself.

Tools

The 42 tools, sorted by what they do

Braze gives Claude 42 tools: 32 that read your account, 5 that change something in it, and 5 no official source describes.

Three groups: what Claude reads, what it creates or updates, and five tools no official source describes. Tool names stay as Claude shows them.

What Claude reads (32)

32 tools

Thirty-two tools that look up campaigns, Canvases, catalogs, segments, events and KPIs without touching them.

get_campaign_dataseries

Returns a daily series of a campaign's results over time: messages sent, opens, clicks and conversions, broken down by channel. Claude can chart the curve in words or compare two campaigns over the same days.

When it helps
you want to see whether last week's promo lost steam after day three.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_campaign_details

Retrieves the useful information about one campaign from its identifier. Claude reaches it once it knows which campaign you mean. It is the step between a name in a list and the facts behind that campaign.

When it helps
a colleague mentions a campaign by name and you want its settings before discussing results.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_campaign_list

Exports the list of campaigns with their name, identifier, whether they are API campaigns, and their tags. Claude uses it to find the campaigns you mean before pulling any numbers on them.

When it helps
you want every campaign tagged for the spring launch before comparing them.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_canvas_data_series

Exports the time series data of a Canvas so Claude can follow how it performed day by day. Claude can then point to the day a journey started to lose people.

When it helps
an onboarding journey dipped mid-month and you want to find the day it happened.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_canvas_data_summary

Returns rollups of a Canvas's time series for a short results summary, rather than every data point. It suits a quick verdict better than the full series does.

When it helps
a manager wants three lines on how the win-back journey did last quarter.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_canvas_details

Exports a Canvas's metadata: its name, when it was created, its current status and more. Claude uses it to check what a journey is before judging how it performs.

When it helps
you need to confirm whether a journey is still live before a stakeholder review.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_canvas_list

Pulls every Canvas into one list with their name, identifier and tags. It is how Claude locates a journey you only remember by part of its name or by a tag.

When it helps
you are auditing old journeys and want all of them in one list first.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_catalog_item

Returns a single catalog item and its content, from the catalog you name. Braze's reference reaches it through the catalog name and the item ID, and Claude can then describe that item's stored content to you.

When it helps
you want to check the stored details of one product that a message pulls from a catalog.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_catalog_items

Returns several items of a catalog along with their content. It gives Claude a sample of the catalog to describe or compare, item by item.

When it helps
a merchandiser wants a quick look at the items currently in the seasonal catalog.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_catalogs

Lists the catalogs that exist in a workspace, the starting point for both catalog item tools. Claude needs a catalog name before it can open any of its items.

When it helps
you need to know which catalogs are available before asking about a product.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_content_block_info

Gets the details of an existing content block, and can add which campaigns or Canvases include it. That inclusion data shows how far one revision would reach.

When it helps
before touching a shared footer block, you want to know where it is used.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_content_blocks

Lists the existing content blocks in your account with their information. Claude starts here when you describe a block by what it contains rather than by its name.

When it helps
you want to find the block that holds your legal footer among dozens of others.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_custom_attributes

Exports the custom attributes recorded for your app, in alphabetical groups of 50. Claude pages through them to tell you which fields your team actually records.

When it helps
a data analyst wants to know which custom fields exist before building a segment.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_dau_data_series

Tracks daily active users: one count of unique active people per date. Claude can set the curve against a date you name, such as a launch or an outage.

When it helps
product wants daily actives around a feature release to see if usage moved.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_email_template_info

Gets the information held for one specific email template. Claude reads it before proposing a new version or reusing the template. It covers one template, where the listing tool shows them all.

When it helps
you want to review a template's content before reusing it in a new campaign.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_email_templates

Lists the email templates available in your Braze account. It gives Claude the names to work with when you ask about a template in your own words.

When it helps
you want to see which templates exist before asking Claude to draft a new one.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_events

Pages through the custom events recorded for your app, in alphabetical groups of 50 with cursor paging. Claude can then tell which events exist before counting any of them.

When it helps
you want the list of tracked events before asking about a funnel.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_events_data_series

Returns how often a custom event occurred over a time period you set. Claude turns the counts into a day-by-day reading of the period you set.

When it helps
you want to know how many carts were started each day of the sale.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_events_list

Exports custom event names in alphabetical groups of 250, page by page. It is the lighter option when Claude only needs to check a name exists. Paging is by page number here.

When it helps
you only need event names, not their details, to spot a misspelt duplicate.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_integration_job_sync_status

Returns past sync statuses for a given Cloud Data Ingestion integration, ten per call. Claude can tell you when the last good sync ran and which ones did not finish.

When it helps
yesterday's data import looks incomplete and you want to know whether a sync failed.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_mau_data_series

Gives monthly active users as a daily figure, each one counted over a rolling 30-day window. Claude can read the trend of that rolling figure across the period you ask about.

When it helps
the board asks whether monthly actives grew over the quarter.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_new_users_data_series

Counts new users day by day, one total per date. Claude can line these counts up with your campaign calendar. Each point is one calendar day.

When it helps
you want to see whether an acquisition push brought new users on the days it ran.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_product_list

Returns a paginated list of product IDs from your purchase data. Claude uses those identifiers to ask the right questions about purchases. The list comes back in pages, which Claude walks through for you.

When it helps
you want the exact product IDs before asking about revenue per product.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_quantity_series

Returns the total number of purchases in your app over a time range. Claude can compare it with an earlier range of the same length. It counts purchases, not the money they brought in.

When it helps
you want the purchase count for the week of a price test.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_revenue_series

Adds up the money spent in your app over a time range. Claude can put the figure next to purchase counts to show the average basket. It measures money, where the quantity tool counts orders.

When it helps
finance wants in-app revenue for the month without opening a dashboard.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_segment_data_series

Follows a segment's estimated size over time, one value per day. Claude reads the trend rather than a single snapshot. Braze gives an estimate, so read it as a direction rather than an exact headcount.

When it helps
you want to see whether your lapsed-users segment is growing or shrinking.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_segment_details

Retrieves the relevant information on one segment from its identifier. Claude uses it to explain a segment before you target it, without any user profile data.

When it helps
before targeting a segment, you want the facts Braze holds about it.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_segment_list

Exports segments with their name, identifier and whether analytics tracking is on. It is where Claude finds the segment you describe in plain words. The tracking flag tells Claude which segments carry analytics at all.

When it helps
you want the full list of segments before a clean-up.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_send_data_series

Gives daily stats for one tracked delivery of an API campaign, found by its ID. Claude can compare those days with the previous run of the same message.

When it helps
an API-triggered message went out on Monday and you want its results by day.
Watch out
Braze keeps these analytics for 14 days after delivery only.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_session_data_series

Returns the number of sessions in your app over a time period you choose. Claude can set sessions against active users to see whether engagement per person moved.

When it helps
product wants to know whether sessions dropped after the latest app release.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_uninstalls_data_series

Measures app uninstalls, one total per date. Claude can line up the spikes with your campaign dates, although Braze counts per day, not per campaign, so tying a spike to one campaign remains your own reading.

When it helps
you want to check whether uninstalls spiked after a heavy notification campaign.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_workspaces

Lists the Braze workspaces your connection can reach. Braze describes it as a way to discover which workspaces your access token can reach, which tells Claude where it is allowed to work.

When it helps
you run a production and a staging workspace and want Claude to use the right one.

What Claude creates or updates (5)

5 tools

Five tools that work on email templates, content blocks and the media library. No source describes a Claude-side confirmation: the general rule below applies.

create_content_block

Approval: see the rule

Creates a new content block in your Braze account. Claude can draft the content from your brief before creating it.

What Claude asks for
no source documents a confirmation before a new block is created, so the general approvals rule below covers it.
When it helps
you want a new promo banner block ready for several campaigns.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

create_email_template

Approval: see the rule

Creates an email template on the Braze dashboard. Claude can write the first version from what you describe.

What Claude asks for
whether a prompt appears before a template lands on the dashboard is undocumented; the general rule applies.
When it helps
a marketer wants a first template for the monthly newsletter drafted from a brief.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

create_media_library_asset

Approval: see the rule

Uploads an asset to the Braze media library, either from an external URL or from file content.

What Claude asks for
nothing describes a check before an asset is uploaded: rely on the general rule in the approvals section.
When it helps
you want a new product visual in the library before building the email.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

update_content_block

Approval: see the rule

Updates an existing content block. Claude can prepare the new wording from your instructions.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a confirmation before an existing block changes; the general rule is what covers it.
When it helps
your legal footer needs a new address line across every message that uses it.
Watch out
check which campaigns or Canvases include the block first, with the content block info tool.

Sourcebraze.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

update_email_template

Approval: see the rule

Revises an email template that already exists. Claude can rewrite sections from your notes before the update.

What Claude asks for
it is not documented whether Claude checks with you before a template is revised; see the general rule.
When it helps
the newsletter template needs the new brand colours and a revised sign-off.

Not documented (5)

5 tools

The directory publishes these five names and nothing more. Braze's function list does not describe them, and this page will not guess from a name.

get_integration_list

Listed on the directory sheet, but absent from the function list Braze publishes, and no Claude source describes it either. This page says nothing about its effect, since Braze's own list of functions never mentions the name.

Watch out
whatever it does, the general approvals rule covers it.

get_scheduled_broadcasts

Another name with no description in Braze's current reference or on any Claude page. Guessing from the name is exactly what this page will not do. No sentence anywhere covers it.

Watch out
it falls under the same approvals rule as every other tool.

get_sdk_authentication_keys

No official source documents this tool today: Braze's function list skips it and the directory gives only the name. Its name alone proves nothing about what it touches, and no text published by Braze or Anthropic fills that gap.

Watch out
treat it under the general approvals rule, like the rest.

get_subscription_group_status

Its behaviour is undocumented: the directory sheet names it, while neither Braze's reference nor Claude's help centre describes it. Until a source appears, it is listed here without a description, and Claude's approval rule is the only thing that frames it.

Watch out
the general approvals rule applies to it.

get_user_subscription_groups

Nothing in the sources explains this one. It appears on the directory sheet and in no description published by Braze or Anthropic. Braze also states that its tools do not return user-profile data, but no text ties that statement to this name.

Watch out
like any tool, it stays under the general approvals rule.
Approvals

What Claude checks with you before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it takes on an account on your behalf. The request shows up in the chat, right when it matters.

On Team and Enterprise, the owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organisation, keeping reading open and closing writing, for instance. That setting applies to everyone and nobody works around it from their own account. Braze adds its own frame: agents inherit your dashboard user permissions, and Braze recommends not using a client's auto-mode for automatic action implementation.

Plans

Which Claude plans include it

Out of the 819 sheets in the official directory, none shows availability by plan. The connector-by-connector answer is not published anywhere: it is a real gap in the catalogue.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to every user on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns the connector on for the organisation before members can connect. For the current state of this one, check the connector's sheet in the official directory. On Braze's side, an account without the feature enabled may get an error response, which is a matter between you and Braze.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts when a campaign ends, a segment shrinks or a Canvas underperforms.

Everything here comes from Braze's own documentation: neither Claude's help centre nor Anthropic's developer docs have a page on this connector. The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise, since an admin can open actions no public sheet shows. The directory's partner badge is not a security audit either, and Anthropic writes on every sheet that it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes nor guarantee how they behave. Five names on the sheet appear nowhere in Braze's function list.

FAQ

Claude Braze connector: common questions

01What can Claude do with the Braze connector?
Claude can analyse your Braze activity and prepare content. Thirty-two documented reading tools cover campaigns and their daily results, Canvases, catalogs, content blocks, email templates, custom attributes and events, segments, purchases, sessions and KPIs such as daily and monthly actives, new users and uninstalls. Five tools create or update email templates and content blocks or upload media, and five more have no description. No tool returns user-level personal data, whatever your permissions.
02Can Claude launch campaigns or change data in Braze?
Not campaigns: no tool on the directory sheet launches, stops or edits a campaign. Five documented tools write, and they only touch content: creating and updating email templates and content blocks, and uploading assets to the media library. Braze states its server includes both read and write tools, and that agents inherit your dashboard user permissions. Five other tools are undocumented, so treat them with care until an official source describes them.
03Does Claude ask before changing something in Braze?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account on your behalf. No source describes a Claude-side confirmation specific to the Braze tools, so this default rule covers them. Braze goes further and recommends not using a client's automatic action mode at all, and reviewing any action the AI proposes before it runs. On Team and Enterprise, owners can also close writing for the whole organisation.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet displays it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to every user on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner switching them on first on Team and Enterprise. The directory sheet is the only place showing the current state for your account. Separately, Braze warns that an account without the feature enabled may receive an error response.
05Can Claude see our customers' personal data in Braze?
No. Braze keeps every tool that would expose user-level personally identifiable information out of its server, and states that these tools do not return data from user profiles. Claude works on aggregates, segments, campaign results and content. Beyond that, your agent inherits your dashboard permissions: what your Braze user cannot see stays hidden from Claude as well. To see which workspaces your access reaches, Claude can call the workspace listing tool.
06Why can our company not connect Claude to Braze?
Braze documents several blockers, and all of them sit on its side. Companies that use Braze's IP allowlisting cannot use the remote server for now. Each user also needs the "Use MCP Server" permission, and an account without the feature enabled may get an error response. If a connection that used to work stops, a company admin may have revoked the company's tokens, which ends the connections that relied on them.
07Claude or an automation tool for Braze?
They answer different needs, so it depends on the task. Claude works inside a conversation: you ask how a campaign performed or request a new template, it reads the data or prepares the content, and nothing else happens once you stop typing. It does not react on its own when a Canvas dips. Data flows and syncs that run in the background are what an automation tool is for; analysis on request is where the connector helps.
