Claude Coteach connectorWhat Claude can do in your Coteach account.

The Claude Coteach connector exposes 1 tool, and it is a write tool. 0 only read and 0 are undocumented. That single tool creates classroom-ready K-12 math diagrams, up to four at a time, which you preview and download from the conversation.

Overview

What changes when Claude can draw with Coteach

Drawing a clean tape diagram or a fraction model for a worksheet takes longer than it should. With this connector, a math teacher describes the visual in plain language and Claude asks Coteach to generate it. The diagrams appear as a preview grid inside the conversation, where the teacher picks the ones to keep and downloads them as PNG files.

One diagram for one problem. A teacher asks for a tape diagram for a two-step equation, and CreateDiagrams produces it ready to drop into a slide.

Several versions of the same idea. The same request can ask for four diagrams at once, for instance four equations of the same shape, so students practice the method rather than memorize one picture.

A progression for scaffolding. Coteach's own example asks for four diagrams that grow harder from 2x + 5 = 13 to 5x + 2 = 22, a ready-made sequence for a lesson.

What it will not do: the directory frames Coteach around K-12 math, with number lines, arrays, area models, coordinate planes and fraction models, not other subjects. Coteach applies a fair-use cap on generation. And it does not run on its own: no worksheet appears every Monday without someone asking. Producing materials on a schedule is the job of an automation tool, covered from the Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

Five words for teachers

The Claude vocabulary this page uses, in one minute.

Connector
A link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can use it while it answers you.
Tool
One named action a connector gives Claude. Here there is exactly one, and Claude calls it by itself when you ask for a diagram.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you connect your Coteach account and grant Claude the access it will use. It can be undone.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before an action that changes an account, shown in the conversation when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Coteach.
Connect

Connect Coteach to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Look up Coteach

Open Claude's settings, then Customize and Connectors, and search for Coteach. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector before each teacher can sign in.

  2. 02

    Connect your Coteach account

Click Connect on the Coteach row and sign in to Coteach in the window that Coteach opens. If the link stops working later, Disconnect the connector and connect it again.

  3. 03

    Review the authorization

Read the authorization screen before accepting, since it is the service's screen and sets what the access covers. Then return to a conversation and ask for a math diagram in plain words.

Tools

The single tool, on the writing side

Coteach gives Claude 1 tool: 0 that read your account, 1 that change something in it.

Coteach's connector has one tool, and it produces new files. The name stays exactly as Claude shows it.

What Claude creates (1)

1 tool

Generates diagram images through your Coteach account. No source describes a confirmation for it.

CreateDiagrams

Approval: see the rule

Generates up to four separate math diagrams from a plain-language description and returns them to the conversation as a grid you can preview, select and download as PNG files.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a confirmation for this tool, so the general approval rule below is what applies.
When it helps
a fourth-grade teacher needs area models for a fractions worksheet due tomorrow.
Watch out
at launch, Coteach's fair-use limit allows up to 100 diagrams per day per connected user.

Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone.

No source says whether Claude asks before CreateDiagrams in particular, so the default rule applies. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members may let some actions run without a prompt every time, and they can restrict what a connector does for the whole organization, for instance by closing actions that write. Claude works with the rights of the teacher who connected, nothing more.

Plans

Which Claude plans can use it

No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector. That is a real hole in the catalog, not in our research.

The published rule is general: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization before members connect. The connector's sheet in the official directory is the only place that shows its current state, so check it from your own account before you plan a lesson around it.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls the tool while it answers, so nothing is generated unless someone asks.

This connector is documented by Coteach alone: no Claude help page covers it. The directory badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it neither chooses a publisher's tools nor guarantees how they behave, so connect only publishers you trust. For a connector from a very different field, see the Claude agility-cms connector page, which follows the same structure. Every point below comes from Coteach's own page.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Coteach connector

01What can Claude do with the Coteach connector?
Claude can generate classroom-ready math diagrams for K-12 teaching through Coteach. You describe the visual in plain language, such as a tape diagram for a given equation, and the connector returns up to four separate diagrams at once. They show up as a preview grid in the conversation, where you select the ones you want and download them as PNG files for worksheets, slides or practice problems. No drawing software is involved on your side.
02Does Claude create or change anything in my Coteach account?
Yes, the connector's single tool creates new diagram images through your Coteach account, which is why it sits on the writing side. Coteach says generated assets may be stored temporarily so you can preview and download them from the conversation. No source describes the tool editing or deleting anything else in your account, and Coteach also applies a fair-use daily limit on generation. In practice, each request produces fresh images that you choose to keep or ignore. Nothing else in the account is touched.
03Does Claude ask before generating diagrams?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone. No source describes a specific confirmation for the diagram tool, so that general rule is what applies. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners can let members skip prompts for certain actions, or block writing for the whole organization, which would include this tool. Members cannot override that choice from their own account. Coteach documents no confirmation of its own.
04Which Claude plans is the Coteach connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. The connector's sheet in the official directory is the only place that shows its current state for your account. Check it there before you count on it.
05Does Coteach see my conversations with Claude?
No, according to Coteach. The publisher says the connector does not read your Claude conversations beyond the specific tool request Claude sends it. It also states that the connector has no access to Claude memory, chat history, uploaded files or unrelated user data. What it does keep is the output: generated diagrams may be stored temporarily so they can be previewed and downloaded from the grid in the conversation. That is the whole of what Coteach describes on its side. Its privacy policy has the full details.
06How many diagrams can I generate with Claude and Coteach?
Each request can return up to four separate diagrams, which you then preview and select in the conversation. Over a day, Coteach applies fair-use limits: at launch, a connected user can create up to 100 diagrams per day. The publisher frames that as a way to keep the connector reliable for everyone, so the figure may change. So the arithmetic is simple: four diagrams per request, and no more than 100 in a single day.
07Claude or an automation tool for Coteach?
They do different jobs, so choose by use. Claude with this connector suits the moment you are planning a lesson: describe the visual, look at the options, keep the ones that fit. An automation tool runs without anyone asking, for example to rebuild a set of worksheets every week from a curriculum file. Nothing in this connector runs on a schedule, so that kind of batch work belongs to automation.
