Claude Fireflies connectorWhat Claude can do in your Fireflies account.

The Claude Fireflies connector exposes 3 tools. 3 read, 0 write, 0 left undocumented. Claude pulls your recorded meetings and works across them in the chat. Below: what it can reach, what it leaves alone, what happens to retention, and where two official pages disagree.

Overview

What changes for your team's calls

Fireflies already records and transcribes your meetings. What the connector adds is cross-examination: instead of opening calls one by one, you ask Claude a question that spans a week of conversations, and it goes and reads the transcripts itself before answering in plain language.

Spot the pattern across a quarter of sales calls. A sales lead wants the objections enterprise prospects raised compared with small accounts. get_transcripts searches past meetings with filters, and Claude sorts what it finds into a comparison you can paste into a pipeline review.

Rebuild one meeting in detail. A product manager missed yesterday's strategy call. get_transcript fetches the full text of that one meeting, and Claude pulls out the decisions and who owns them.

Check whose account you are on. With get_user, Claude reads your Fireflies profile, which helps when several colleagues share one Claude workspace.

What it cannot do: by default the sheet only exposes reading. No tool writes a summary back into Fireflies, schedules a recording or deletes a meeting. Nothing runs on its own either: when a call ends, Claude does not wake up to send the recap to Slack. That kind of hands-off routine belongs to an automation tool, a different job listed on our Integrations page. If the follow-up is turning decisions into tasks during the conversation, the Claude asana connector can sit next to this one.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you will run into while plugging Fireflies in.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work on it while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the tools it needs on its own; the directory lists them by name.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Granted once per person, and you can take it back.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before doing something that changes your account, shown in the chat at the moment it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Fireflies.
Connect

Plug Fireflies into Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Fireflies in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and find Fireflies in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector before each member can sign in with their own account.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Fireflies in the window that Fireflies opens itself. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read the authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to Fireflies, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from your Fireflies account.

Tools

The 3 tools, sorted by what they do

Fireflies gives Claude 3 tools: 3 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.

All three read your Fireflies data. Their names stay in English, exactly as Claude displays them.

  • 3 read

What Claude reads (3)

3 tools

Three tools that look at your meetings and profile without touching them.

get_user

Returns the profile details of the Fireflies user who connected, so Claude knows whose meeting library it is looking at before it digs in.

When it helps
you share a laptop with a colleague and want to be sure the answers come from your own recordings.

Sourceguide.fireflies.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

get_transcript

Claude retrieves the complete transcript of one specific meeting, identified by its transcript ID, and can then quote, summarise or question it line by line.

When it helps
the client disputes what was agreed on Tuesday and you need the exact wording.
Watch out
Fireflies notes a meeting only appears once it has been processed into a transcript.

get_transcripts

Searches across your earlier transcripts with filters, so Claude can gather every call about a topic before comparing them. Fireflies says filtering by topic, date or speaker is done through how you phrase the request.

When it helps
a customer success manager wants every red flag mentioned in client calls this week.

Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for your confirmation before every action it takes on an account on your behalf. With Fireflies, every listed tool only reads, so there is no write for that rule to intercept.

On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members can let certain actions through without being asked each time. They can also restrict what a connector may do for the whole organisation, for instance keeping reads and closing writes; that setting applies to everyone. And Claude works with your rights only: Fireflies says only the user's own meetings are reachable through their access.

Plans

Which plans include it

Of the 819 sheets in the official directory, not one displays availability by plan. The connector-by-connector answer is simply not published anywhere.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner switches the connector on for the organisation before members can connect. Fireflies' own guide says something narrower, set side by side in the limits section below. The connector's sheet in the official directory is where the current state shows.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts by itself when a meeting ends or a transcript is ready.

By default the sheet only exposes reading, and that is an observed floor, not a guarantee: an admin can open actions that no public sheet lists. The partner badge in the directory is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it does not pick the tools a publisher exposes. Everything here comes from Fireflies' own guide; neither Claude's help centre nor Anthropic's developer docs cover this connector.

Two official sources disagree

Which Claude plans can use the Fireflies connector?

What this page followsNeither side is marked out of date, and they do not cover the same thing: Anthropic's rule applies to every connector, while the Fireflies line targets this one but is the publisher speaking, on an undated page. Neither settles it for your account: check the Fireflies sheet in the directory from your own Claude login.

FAQ

FAQ about the Claude Fireflies connector

01What can Claude do with the Fireflies connector?
Claude can read your Fireflies meeting data and answer questions that span several calls. The connector exposes three tools: one returns your user profile, one retrieves the full transcript of a given meeting, and one searches across past transcripts with filters. In practice you can ask for the objections raised in this month's demos or the decisions from yesterday's meeting, and Claude fetches the transcripts itself before building the answer.
02Can Claude edit, add or delete anything in Fireflies?
Not with the tools the sheet lists. All three read: a profile, one transcript, or a search across transcripts. None of them writes a note back, starts a recording or removes a meeting. That is a floor observed on the public sheet, not a promise about the future, since an admin can open actions that no public page shows. Today, anything Claude drafts from your calls stays in the conversation until you copy it elsewhere yourself.
03Does Claude ask before it reads my meetings?
No source describes a confirmation specific to the Fireflies tools. The general rule is that Claude stops and asks before each action it takes on an account on your behalf, and here every listed tool only reads. What you do approve is the Fireflies sign-in screen when you connect, which sets what the access covers. On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners can also decide which actions pass without asking and restrict the connector for everyone.
04Which Claude plans is the Fireflies connector on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet shows it. Anthropic's general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner switching them on first on Team and Enterprise. Fireflies' guide states a narrower requirement, quoted in the limits section. The Fireflies sheet in the official directory is the only place showing the current state for your account.
05Does Claude see every meeting in our Fireflies workspace?
No. Fireflies states that only the user's own meetings are accessible through their own access, and Claude works with the rights of whoever connected, nothing more. A manager connecting will get answers from the manager's library, a sales rep from theirs. Fireflies describes access shared across a whole workspace as still in development. On top of that, an owner of a Team or Enterprise workspace can restrict what the connector does for the whole organisation.
06Does Fireflies' Zero-Day Retention still apply once Claude reads a transcript?
No. Fireflies is explicit that its Zero-Day Retention policy applies only to processing inside the Fireflies platform. When transcripts travel to Claude through the connector, data handling follows Anthropic's terms and retention policies instead. In other words, the retention promise Fireflies makes for its own platform does not travel with the transcript. If your organisation has rules on where meeting content may be processed, read Anthropic's terms against them before you connect, since those are the terms that apply once Claude reads a call.
07Claude or an automation tool for Fireflies?
They do different jobs, so choose by use. Claude with this connector is for questions you ask in a conversation: compare calls, rebuild a meeting, pull out decisions. It never acts on its own, so it will not push a recap somewhere each time a meeting ends. For routines that must run after every call without anyone asking, an automation platform is the right kind of tool, not a better or worse Claude.
