Claude Jentic connectorWhat Claude can do in your Jentic account.

The Claude Jentic connector exposes 3 tools. 2 read (they find an API and explain how to call it), 1 writes, since it actually runs the call. Below: what Claude can reach through Jentic, what you must set up first, and why two official figures disagree.

Overview

What changes when Claude can browse APIs for you

Picking an API usually means a pile of browser tabs and an afternoon of documentation. With Jentic plugged in, you describe the job in plain words, for example sending transactional email at volume, and Claude looks for the APIs that match, reads what each one expects, and can then call the one you choose with the keys you stored in Jentic beforehand.

Shortlist candidates in one question. search_apis takes a need written the way you would say it and returns the matching APIs. The directory sheet gives the kind of request in mind: comparing geocoding services on rate limits and authentication.

Know what a call needs before making it. load_execution_info opens the details of an API you found: which information it requires and how to use it.

Get the answer back in the chat. execute runs the operation, or a multi-step workflow, with the credentials Jentic manages. Jentic's guide says the result comes back in the chat.

Now the limits. execute only works on APIs whose credentials you already added in the Jentic dashboard; Claude doesn't create them. Nothing runs on a schedule either: every call happens because you asked during a conversation. If you need an API hit every morning without anyone typing, that's automation work, a different job, and the Integrations hub covers that side.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words worth knowing before you plug Jentic in.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named action a connector opens to Claude. Claude chooses which ones to call while answering; the directory lists them by name.
Authorization
The sign-in screen of the service itself, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Granted once per person, and revocable.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before completing something that changes an account, shown in the conversation at that moment.
MCP
The common standard connectors rely on: it is what allows an assistant like Claude to talk to a service outside it.
Connect

Plug Jentic into Claude in three steps

  1. 01

Find Jentic in the connector list

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and locate Jentic. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable the connector before members can sign in one by one.

  2. 02

    Launch the sign-in

Click Connect on its row and sign in to Jentic in the window Jentic opens on its own. Should the connection break later, Disconnect it and connect again from the same row.

  3. 03

    Check what you authorize

Read the authorization screen before you accept. It is Jentic's screen, not Claude's, and it sets what the access covers. You can withdraw that access later from the Jentic side too.

Tools

The 3 tools, sorted by what they do

Jentic gives Claude 3 tools: 2 that read your account, 1 that change something in it.

Two that look things up, one that acts. Names stay in English, exactly as Claude displays them.

search_apis

Type the need in your own words, such as a Discord message or newspaper articles, and Jentic returns the APIs and operations that match.

Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude pauses and asks for your confirmation before each action it carries out on an account for you. The request appears in the conversation when it matters.

On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether members may let some actions through without a fresh prompt each time. They can also limit what a connector does for the entire organization, leaving lookups open and closing actions, for example; nobody overrides that from a personal account. Claude works with the rights of the person connected and nothing beyond. On the Jentic side, operations and credentials are scoped to your agent, and the keys stay in Jentic's vault instead of passing through your messages.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. That answer is published nowhere, connector by connector: it's a genuine hole in the catalogue.

The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner switches the connector on for the organization first. For the current state on your own account, the Jentic sheet in the official directory is the reference.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers; no API call goes out on a timer or when something happens elsewhere.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a guarantee: an administrator can open actions no public sheet mentions. The directory's partner badge isn't a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it doesn't pick the tools a publisher exposes or vouch that they behave as described. Plug in only what comes from a publisher you trust. This connector is documented by Jentic alone, with no Claude help article behind it.

Two official sources disagree

How many APIs can Claude search through Jentic?

What this page followsBoth texts come from Jentic and don't give the same order of magnitude. The directory sheet, read on 1 October 2026, is the more recent, but neither says what it counts. Don't plan around either figure: check in Jentic which APIs are actually available for your account.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Jentic connector

01What can Claude do with the Jentic connector?
Claude can search for APIs that match a need you describe, read what a given operation requires, and then run it. Those three steps map to the three tools on the directory sheet: search_apis, load_execution_info and execute. The results come back in the conversation. The calls go through the credentials you stored in Jentic beforehand, so Claude only reaches the services you have already set up there. Jentic describes the starting point as a question in plain language, not a form to fill.
02Can Claude send data or trigger actions through Jentic?
Yes, through execute, the one tool on the sheet that acts. It runs an API operation or a multi-step workflow with the credentials Jentic manages, which can mean more than reading data depending on the API you pick. The two other tools only search and describe. Since execute depends on keys you added in Jentic, Claude can't act on a service you never connected there. No official source says whether Claude asks before running it, so the default confirmation rule applies.
03Does Claude ask before running an API call?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for you. No official source describes a confirmation specific to execute, so that default rule covers it. On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members may skip some confirmations, and they can restrict the connector for the whole organization, keeping search open while blocking the action side. The keys themselves stay in Jentic either way.
04Which Claude plans include the Jentic connector?
No official source publishes availability by plan for each connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets displays it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector before members connect. The Jentic sheet in the official directory is the only place that shows the up-to-date state for your account.
05Does Claude see my API keys?
No, according to Jentic. Its documentation says credentials never touch your prompts and that a managed vault handles authentication centrally. Operations and credentials are scoped to your agent. Jentic presents credential management on execute as automatic. Claude still works with your rights and nothing more: it can't use a credential your Jentic account doesn't hold. Jentic also documents a separate resource, not one of the three tools, that lists in a text file the credentials your agent has access to.
06Why does Jentic fail to connect to Claude?
Check the Jentic side first. The guide asks you to sign in to Jentic, add the API credentials you need and create an MCP configuration in your organization before connecting. It also insists on using the same login method, Google for instance, for Jentic and for the client. Fix those three points, then disconnect and reconnect from Claude's connector settings. Jentic also states that a Jentic account is required to use the tools effectively.
07Claude or an automation tool for calling APIs?
They solve different problems, so it depends on the use. Claude with Jentic suits exploratory work: finding a fitting API, understanding it and trying a call while you talk it through. An automation tool fits a call that must run on a schedule or after an event, without anyone in a conversation. The connector never starts on its own, so recurring jobs belong on the automation side. Jentic, for its part, starts from a need you describe in plain language.
