What changes for your video workflow
Cutting a webinar or a podcast into short clips usually means uploading, waiting, scrubbing through suggestions and fixing captions by hand. With the connector, you ask Claude in plain words: it sends the video to OpusClip, reads the clips and transcripts that come back, applies the edits you describe and prepares the posts, while you keep the final say.
From a long recording to a shortlist. You paste a YouTube link of last week's webinar. opusclip_submit_project sends it for clipping, then opusclip_list_clips and opusclip_describe_clip let Claude pick the strongest moments with their transcripts.
Edits described, not dragged. Ask to cut the filler words from clip three and switch captions to yellow. opusclip_edit_clip applies both in one call, with a single preview re-render.
Posts prepared, not fired. opusclip_create_social_copy_job drafts platform-specific captions and opusclip_schedule_publish prepares the slot. Nothing goes out until you open OpusClip's approval link and confirm there.
What the directory sheet does not tell you: tool calls only work for an OpusClip organization with API access, and they spend credits against a monthly cap. The connector does no media generation: no dubbing, no image or voice. The organization you pick at sign-in stays fixed until you reconnect. And nothing runs on its own: Claude acts while you talk to it, the scheduled posts then run in OpusClip. For recurring pipelines between apps, see the Integrations hub.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five words you will meet while connecting OpusClip.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory lists them by name.
- Authorization
- The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Given once per person, and revocable.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes your account, shown in the chat when it matters.
- MCP
- The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect OpusClip to Claude in three steps
- 01
Find OpusClip in the list
In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for OpusClip. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector first before each member can sign in.
- 02
Start the connection
Click Connect on its row, then sign in to OpusClip in the window OpusClip opens itself. If the link breaks, use Disconnect and reconnect. OpusClip also lets you start from its entry in the connector directory, with Add.
- 03
Read the authorization screen
Read OpusClip's consent screen before you approve. It belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it sets what the access covers. If you belong to several OpusClip organizations, this is also where you pick one.
The 28 OpusClip tools, grouped by what they do
OpusClip gives Claude 28 tools: 12 that read your account, 14 that change something in it, and 2 no official source describes.
Three groups: what Claude reads, what it changes, and two names no official source describes as doing anything. OpusClip states that each write call brings up Claude's approval prompt.

What Claude reads (12)
12 toolsTwelve tools that look at projects, clips, transcripts, usage and posts without changing them.
opusclip_whoami
Confirms which OpusClip organization the connection is acting in. That choice was made on the consent screen and no tool switches it mid-conversation.
opusclip_get_usage
Shows how much of its API allowance your organization has used against its cap, before a long video eats the rest.
opusclip_list_brand_templates
Lists the brand templates saved in your OpusClip workspace, so Claude knows which layouts and styles are available for your clips.
opusclip_list_projects
Lists your recent clipping projects, the containers for the clips OpusClip cuts from each submitted video.
opusclip_list_clips
Returns the clips OpusClip produced inside one project, each with a preview link rather than the final download.
opusclip_describe_clip
Fetches everything about a single clip: its transcript, its layout, whether the render is finished, plus a preview link to watch it.
opusclip_list_collections
Lists the collections in your workspace, so Claude can match the one you mention by name.
opusclip_list_clips_in_collection
Shows what already sits in one collection, so a campaign folder can be reviewed as a whole.
opusclip_get_transcript
Retrieves the transcript of a project's source video, meaning the whole recording rather than a single clip, so nothing said on stage is out of reach.
opusclip_list_social_accounts
Lists the social accounts connected to your OpusClip workspace, which are the only places a post can be aimed at from this connector.
opusclip_get_social_copy_job
Retrieves a social copy job and, once it has finished, the platform captions it produced for the clip.
opusclip_list_scheduled_posts
Lists scheduled and recent posts across your connected accounts, including the identifier a cancellation later requires.

opusclip_duplicate_clip

Not documented (2)
2 toolsThe directory lists these two names. No official source describes them as reading or changing anything, and this page will not guess.
opusclip_get_editing_script
No official source describes what this tool reads or changes. OpusClip's own page calls it deprecated: it returns no editing script, only a pointer to the current clip tool.
opusclip_apply_editing_script
Same silence here: the name is listed, and no source documents an effect for it. OpusClip only calls it deprecated alongside its twin, applying nothing and pointing to opusclip_edit_clip instead.
What Claude asks you before acting
By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it takes on an account for you. OpusClip confirms it for this connector: every write tool brings up Claude's approval prompt, read tools do not.
Four tools add a second check. Posting, scheduling, cancelling a scheduled post and sharing a project only return a link; the action runs once you confirm it in OpusClip, signed in to your own account. Ignoring the link is how you decline, and several prepared posts can share one confirmation. On Team or Enterprise, Claude's owners decide whether members may skip prompts and can restrict the connector for everyone.
Which plans this is available on
Out of 819 directory sheets, not one shows availability by plan. The connector-by-connector answer is published nowhere: it is a real gap in the catalogue.
The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns the connector on for the organization before members can connect. OpusClip adds its own condition on its side, API access, covered in the limits below. For this connector's current state, check its sheet in the official directory.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: no clip gets cut because a new video landed in a folder, and scheduled posts then run on OpusClip's side.
Everything known about this connector comes from OpusClip's documentation and the directory sheet; Claude's help centre has no page on it. OpusClip's page lists one more tool than the sheet shows, which is a reminder that the list is an observed floor. The verification badge is not a security audit either: Anthropic states on every sheet that it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes. To compare with another publisher's connector, see the Claude airtable connector.
