Overview

Why a finance or ops team would plug Razorpay into Claude

The Razorpay dashboard answers one question at a time, and each answer takes a few clicks and a filter. With the connector, you ask Claude where yesterday's settlement stands or which refunds are still pending for a customer, and it looks the records up itself, then answers in a sentence instead of a table you have to read.

Reconcile without the export dance. fetch_all_settlements and fetch_settlement_recon_details bring back settlements and the reconciliation report, so Claude can line up what was paid out against what you expected.

Answer a customer in one go. A buyer says they paid twice. fetch_order_payments lists every payment on the order, and fetch_multiple_refunds_for_payment shows what was already refunded.

Check the counter QR codes. fetch_all_qr_codes and fetch_payments_for_qr_code tell you which codes are in use and what came through each.

Now the part the sheet does not say out loud. By default, everything listed here reads: no tool on the directory sheet captures a payment, issues a refund or creates a link. Razorpay's own server documentation does describe writing tools, but the Claude directory does not list them, and the box further down lays out that gap. Nothing runs on its own either: no tool fires when a payment lands or a refund settles. For that kind of background job, an automation tool fits better, a different trade, like our Razorpay Make integration. The Integrations hub lists the rest.

Vocabulary

Five words before you plug it in

The vocabulary you will meet on the way.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named job the connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs mid-answer; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
Razorpay's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use afterwards. Given once per person, and you can take it back.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before doing something that changes an account, shown in the conversation when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Razorpay.
Connect

Connect Razorpay to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Razorpay in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Razorpay. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector first; then each member connects on their own.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row and sign in to your Razorpay merchant account in the window Razorpay opens. If the link breaks later, hit Disconnect and connect again from scratch.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Before you accept, read what the screen asks for. It belongs to Razorpay, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. That access can also be withdrawn later from the Razorpay side.

Tools

The 25 tools of the Claude Razorpay connector

Razorpay gives Claude 25 tools: 24 that read your account, 0 that change something in it, and 1 no official source describes.

Two groups: what Claude reads, and one tool the sources say nothing about. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them, in English.

What Claude reads (24)

24 tools

Twenty-four lookups across payments, orders, links, QR codes, refunds, settlements and payouts. None changes your account.

fetch_payment

Pulls the details of one payment from its ID, so Claude can answer about it without a trip to the dashboard.

When it helps
a customer quotes a payment ID in a support email and you want to know where it stands.
Watch out
it needs the ID; to search, use the listing tool.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_payments

Returns your payments with filtering and pagination, which lets Claude scan a period rather than a single record.

When it helps
you want every failed payment from last week before the Monday stand-up.
Watch out
a wide range means many pages; give Claude a date window.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_payment_card_details

Shows the details of the card behind a given payment.

When it helps
a dispute comes in and you need to know which card type the buyer used, as fast as possible.
Watch out
card data is sensitive, so think about who in the team can see the conversation.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_order

Brings back one order from its ID.

When it helps
the sales team asks whether an order from this morning was ever paid, and all you have is the order reference.
Watch out
it gives the order itself; its payments come from another tool.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_orders

Lists your orders so Claude can go through them in bulk.

When it helps
you want the orders created during a flash sale to compare with what was actually paid.
Watch out
on a busy account the list runs long.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_order_payments

Lists every payment attached to one order, so Claude can show you whether a basket was paid once, twice or not at all.

When it helps
a buyer says they were charged twice for the same basket and you want proof either way.
Watch out
it works one order at a time.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_qr_code

Looks up a single QR code from its ID and reports what Razorpay has on record for it.

When it helps
a store manager asks whether the code taped to their counter is still the active one.
Watch out
the ID is needed; the listing tool finds it if you do not have it.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_qr_codes

Returns every QR code on the account.

When it helps
you are auditing which shops still display codes after a rebrand and need the full inventory before the audit meeting.
Watch out
expect a long list if you run many points of sale.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_qr_codes_by_customer_id

Finds the QR codes tied to a given customer ID.

When it helps
a regular buyer pays by QR at several locations and you want the full picture of their codes before reviewing the account.
Watch out
it filters by customer, not by shop.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_qr_codes_by_payment_id

Works back from a payment ID to the QR code it came through.

When it helps
a payment looks odd and you want to know which counter it was made at.
Watch out
it starts from a payment, so you need that ID first.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_payments_for_qr_code

Lists the payments received through one QR code, which turns a sticker on a counter into a readable sales history.

When it helps
you want to compare takings between two shops that each use their own code.
Watch out
it handles one code per request.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_refund

Gives the status and details of one refund from its ID.

When it helps
a customer quotes a refund reference and asks when the money will arrive in their account.
Watch out
it reads the refund; issuing one is not on this sheet.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_refunds

Brings back every refund on the account, so Claude can total them or spot unusual ones across a period.

When it helps
at month-end, finance wants every refund from the period to check against returns received in the warehouse.
Watch out
on a busy account the list gets long; tell Claude which period matters.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_multiple_refunds_for_payment

Lists every refund made against a single payment, which matters when a purchase was refunded in several parts.

When it helps
a partial refund was followed by another and you want the running total before answering the customer.
Watch out
it needs the payment ID.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_specific_refund_for_payment

Retrieves one precise refund tied to a given payment, rather than the whole list.

When it helps
you have both references and want to confirm the exact refund the customer is talking about in their complaint.
Watch out
both IDs are required.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_settlement_with_id

Shows what is inside one settlement, looked up by its ID.

When it helps
the bank statement shows a deposit and you want to know which settlement it matches, down to the reference.
Watch out
ID needed; list first if you do not have it.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_settlements

Lists all your settlements with the details Razorpay keeps on each, so Claude can walk through a quarter in one go.

When it helps
you want the settlement history of the quarter before closing the books with your accountant.
Watch out
tell Claude which period matters to keep the answer readable.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_instant_settlement_with_id

Returns one instant settlement from its ID.

When it helps
you requested an early payout and want to see where it stands before promising a supplier.
Watch out
this sheet can look it up but has no tool to request one.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_instant_settlements

Lists every instant settlement on the account.

When it helps
you want to see how often the team pulls funds early in a month, and for which amounts overall.
Watch out
the list covers instant settlements only, not regular ones.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_settlement_recon_details

Fetches the settlement reconciliation report, the breakdown finance needs to tie deposits to transactions.

When it helps
closing the month, you want Claude to match each deposit to the payments inside it.
Watch out
reports can be long; ask about one period at a time.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_all_payouts

Per payout, you get its details along with an account number, according to Razorpay's documentation.

When it helps
a vendor says they were never paid and you want the full payout list in front of you before replying.
Watch out
it returns every payout, so say which vendor or period you care about.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

fetch_tokens

Lists the payment methods a customer has saved, found by customer ID or contact number.

When it helps
a subscriber asks which card is on file for their renewal.
Watch out
it lists saved methods; nothing on this sheet revokes one.

Sourcegithub.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

Undocumented (1)

1 tool

The directory lists this name and nothing else. No official text says what it does, and we will not guess from its name.

fetch_payout_with_id

This name appears in the directory's tool list, and that is all. Razorpay's server documentation does not describe it under this name, and no Claude page does either, so the page will not say more.

Watch out
whatever it does, the general approval rule covers it.
Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before any action it takes on an account for you. The request shows up in the conversation, at the moment it matters.

With Razorpay as listed today, that default rarely comes up, since every documented tool reads. The rest of the rule still matters. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked. They can also cap what a connector may do for the whole organization, keeping reading open and closing writing, and nobody gets around that from their own account. Claude works with your rights, nothing more.

Plans

Which plans include it

Of the 819 sheets in the official directory, none shows availability by plan. The per-connector answer is published nowhere, a real gap in the catalogue.

The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and desktop extensions install on Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization before members can connect. For the current state, open the Razorpay sheet in the directory from your own account.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you; nothing starts when a payment lands or a settlement clears.

This connector is documented only by its publisher: neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's developer docs cover it. By default, its sheet exposes only reading, which is an observed floor, not a guarantee, since an administrator can open actions no public sheet shows. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it does not decide which tools a publisher exposes.

Can Claude create or change payments through the Razorpay connector?

  • Razorpay's official server README (GitHub) ↗read September 30, 2026Razorpay lists writing tools too, such as capturing a payment, creating a payment link or revoking a saved method, marked as supported on its hosted server.

FAQ

FAQ on the Claude Razorpay connector

01What can Claude do with the Razorpay connector?
Claude can look up your Razorpay merchant data from a conversation. The directory sheet lists twenty-five tools: twenty-four documented lookups covering payments, card details, orders, payment links, QR codes, refunds, regular and instant settlements, the reconciliation report, payouts and saved payment methods, plus one tool listed with no description. Claude uses them to answer questions about your transactions in plain language instead of dashboard filters, and to line up settlements against what you expected.
02Can Claude capture, refund or send anything in Razorpay?
Not with the tools the directory lists: by default, the sheet exposes only reading. None of the twenty-four documented tools captures a payment, issues a refund or creates a payment link. Razorpay's own server documentation does describe writing tools, but the Claude directory does not list them. A reading-only list is a floor, not a promise, because an administrator can open actions that appear on no public sheet. Captures and refunds sit outside what this sheet offers.
03Does Claude ask before it acts?
Yes, by default Claude asks for confirmation before any action it takes on an account for you. With Razorpay the question barely arises today, since every documented tool only reads and no source describes a specific confirmation. If writing tools appear in your account, that default rule covers them. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether members can let certain actions through without being asked, and they can close writing for everyone.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule opens remote connectors to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable the connector before members can connect. The Razorpay sheet in the directory, opened from your own account, is the only place that shows the current state.
05Does Claude see everything in our Razorpay account?
It sees what the connected account can see, nothing more. Claude works with the rights of the person who connected, so a teammate with narrower access gets narrower answers. The tools reach payments, orders, refunds, settlements, payouts and saved methods, including card details on a payment, so think about who can read the conversation. On Team and Enterprise, an owner can also restrict what the connector may do across the organization.
06Why does Razorpay's documentation list more tools than Claude shows?
Because the two sources describe different lists. Razorpay's server documentation, read in September 2026, includes writing tools such as capturing a payment or creating a payment link, some marked as unsupported on its hosted server. The Claude directory sheet, reread the same day, shows twenty-five tools that only look data up. This page follows the sheet. Check the sheet from your own account to see what is actually available to you.
07Claude or an automation tool for Razorpay?
They serve different needs, so pick by the task. Claude works inside a conversation: you ask, it looks up the payments or settlements and answers, and nothing happens once you stop typing. It does not react on its own when a payment arrives. For a job that fires in the background on every new payment, an automation tool is the right trade. For on-demand answers about your transactions, the connector fits.
