Overview

What the Claude Revolut X connector changes for you

You no longer need to open the app to see where your balances or orders stand on Revolut X. You ask Claude, it reads your account and the market, then answers. It does not trade, though: Revolut built this connector's server so that it cannot place, modify or cancel orders.

Review your portfolio. get_balances shows your balances, get_active_orders your pending orders, and get_order_by_id the fees on a specific order, the only tool that returns them.

Read the market. get_tickers, get_candles and get_order_book cover prices, history and depth, all as of the moment you ask.

Test an idea with no risk. grid_backtest and grid_optimize simulate a grid strategy on past data, with no order placed, and Claude reminds you that past results promise nothing.

What Claude does not do: it never places, amends or cancels an order. To trade, get_trading_setup points you to Revolut's command-line tool and its Claude Code plugin. It gives no investment advice either: Revolut forbids it from saying whether to buy, sell or hold. And nothing runs on its own; no alert fires unless you ask. For that kind of watching, you need an automation platform, a different job; the Integrations hub covers that side.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words that make the rest of the page easier.

Connector
The link you install once between Claude and your Revolut X account, so Claude can look at it while answering you.
Tool
One named action the connector hands to Claude. Claude picks which to use; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
The access you grant the service for Claude. Here, according to Revolut, it goes through a key pair and an API key, not a sign-in screen.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before carrying out something that changes anything, shown right in the chat.
MCP
The common standard connectors are built on; it lets an assistant talk to an outside service.
Connect

Connect Revolut X to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

Find Revolut X in Claude Desktop

Revolut X is a desktop extension, so it installs on Claude Desktop. Open settings, go to Customize then Connectors and look for Revolut X. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it first.

  2. 02

    Start the install

Start the connection from Revolut X's row. Revolut describes this as installing it from the Claude Desktop directory. If the extension misbehaves later, use Disconnect and add it again from the same row.

  3. 03

    Set up your access keys

There is no sign-in screen here. According to Revolut, you ask Claude to set up your keys: it generates a key pair, you add the public key in your Revolut X profile, create an API key there and paste it back into the chat.

Tools

All 21 tools, grouped by effect

Revolut X gives Claude 21 tools: 19 that read your account, 2 that change something in it.

Two groups: what Claude reads, and the two tools that write to your computer to set up access. Tool names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

What Claude reads (19)

19 tools

Nineteen tools that read your account, the market or Revolut X help, with no order placed.

get_instructions

Returns the connector's full tool inventory. Revolut notes the call is optional, since the same orientation already reaches Claude through the server's startup instructions.

When it helps
you want to look up a tool name before asking a more precise question.
Watch out
its own description says every tool is read-only and points to get_trading_setup for trading.

get_trading_setup

When you want to trade, Claude does not do it: this tool returns installation instructions for Revolut's revx command-line tool and its Claude Code plugin, which Revolut names for placing orders, running grid bots and monitors.

When it helps
you ask how to start trading and Claude shows you how to install the tooling that can.
Watch out
the trading itself happens outside this connector.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_cli_install_command

Gives the command that installs revx, Revolut's trading command-line tool. Revolut annotates it as a read-only tool.

When it helps
you want to use revx commands and ask how to install the tool.
Watch out
running that command happens outside Claude, in your own terminal.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

check_auth_status

Verifies that the API credentials are configured and working. Revolut lists it as the last step of the key setup sequence, after generate_keypair and configure_api_key.

When it helps
after pasting your key, you want to be sure everything works before asking anything that matters.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_balances

Shows every balance on your Revolut X account: available, reserved and total.

When it helps
you want to know how much is still available once open orders are taken into account.
Watch out
the reserved part is shown separately from what is available.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_currencies

Lists the currencies available on the platform, with name, asset type, precision and status.

When it helps
you are wondering whether a given currency is available on Revolut X at all.
Watch out
this is the platform's list, not your portfolio.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_currency_pairs

Lists the tradeable pairs, with step sizes, minimum and maximum order sizes, and status for each.

When it helps
before planning an order, you want the minimum size accepted on a pair.
Watch out
the order itself is not placed through this connector.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_order_book

Fetches the order book for a pair, the buy and sell offers waiting to be matched. Depth is adjustable from 1 to 192 levels per side, 50 by default, with the best ask and the best bid first.

When it helps
you want to see the offers around the current price on a pair.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_tickers

Gives the bid, ask, mid and last traded price, plus statistics over the past day, for all pairs or the symbols you name.

When it helps
you want a pair's current price and how it moved over the past day.
Watch out
filtering by symbol keeps the answer short.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_candles

Provides price history as candles (open, high, low, close, volume), with resolutions from one minute to four weeks. It paginates on its own when you give a start and end date.

When it helps
you want a pair's price path over a given period.
Watch out
beyond 30 days, Revolut tells Claude to have you confirm the range first.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_public_trades

Shows the public trades on a pair, across all participants, not just yours.

When it helps
you want to see what has just been traded on a pair.
Watch out
these are market trades; your own executions go through get_order_fills.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_active_orders

Brings back every order you still have open, filterable by symbol, side, state or order type (limit, conditional, tpsl). It paginates on its own.

When it helps
you want the list of your pending limit orders on a pair.
Watch out
Claude only looks at them; to act on them, Revolut points you to its CLI.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_historical_orders

Returns your completed orders, whether filled, cancelled, rejected or replaced, over the date range you ask for, split automatically into seven-day chunks.

When it helps
you need the list of orders filled over a past period.
Watch out
according to Revolut, fees are not part of this history.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_order_fills

Lists every fill, meaning each execution, of a given order.

When it helps
an order went through in several pieces and you want to see each piece.
Watch out
like the history, these fills leave fees out; Revolut says only get_order_by_id returns them.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

grid_backtest

Simulates a grid trading strategy on Revolut X candle history without placing any live order. Before running, Claude is told to have you confirm the symbol, amount, number of levels, range and split.

When it helps
you want to know how a grid on a pair would have done over a past period.
Watch out
Revolut stresses that a simulation of the past is neither a prediction nor a guarantee.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

grid_optimize

Runs a backtest for every combination of grid levels and range percentages on past data, then ranks the results by total return. Everything stays simulated and no live order goes out.

When it helps
you are torn between several grid settings and want to compare them in one go.
Watch out
past 50,000 candles, only the most recent 50,000 are used.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_order_by_id

Opens one order by its venue order ID, with the total fees paid and, for conditional and tpsl orders, their trigger details. It is the only tool that returns per-order fees.

When it helps
you want to know what a given purchase cost you in fees.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

list_kb_articles

Lists the Revolut X help articles, each with its ID and a plain-English description of the question it covers. Revolut asks Claude to call it first to pick the right article.

When it helps
you want to find which article covers withdrawals before asking your question.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

search_kb

Returns the full content of a help article from its exact ID, to answer questions on fees, order types, deposits, withdrawals, staking, setup or account issues.

When it helps
you are wondering how conditional orders work on Revolut X.
Watch out
it needs the exact ID, which list_kb_articles provides.

What Claude writes to your machine (2)

2 tools

Two setup tools that store keys locally. No source gives them their own confirmation.

generate_keypair

Approval: see the rule

Generates a new key pair for Revolut X API authentication. According to Revolut's code, the private key is written to your computer and the public key is returned, for you to add under Profile, then API Keys, in your Revolut X account.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a confirmation specific to this step; the general approval rule applies.
When it helps
first-time setup, when you ask Claude to set up your API keys.
Watch out
if a pair already exists, the tool returns the existing public key.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

configure_api_key

Approval: see the rule

Saves the API key Revolut X gave you after you added your public key. According to Revolut's code, the key is stored in a local configuration folder on your computer, not in your Revolut X account.

What Claude asks for
no dedicated check is documented before saving; you fall back on the default rule.
When it helps
you just created the key in your Revolut X profile and paste it into the chat.
Watch out
the key passes through the conversation, and Revolut reminds you these keys authorise real trades.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it takes on an account for you, right in the conversation.

Revolut adds its own rules, delivered to Claude through the server's instructions. Before a grid simulation, Claude has to confirm with you the symbol, amount and other parameters. Before a query covering more than 30 days or "all history", it has to confirm the scope. On Team and Enterprise, owners can also cap what a connector does across the whole organization, and members cannot override that from their own account.

Plans

Which plans include the connector

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan; connector by connector, the information is not published anywhere.

The general rule is documented: desktop extensions such as this one install on Claude Desktop, while remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization. For the current state, check the Revolut X sheet in the directory. Only Revolut documents this connector.

Limits

Where the Revolut X connector stops

A connector is not an automation: Claude calls these tools while it answers you, and no alert goes out on its own.

Revolut built the server read-only as far as your account is concerned: it cannot place, amend or cancel an order, and every tool description reminds Claude of it. The only two tools that write do so on your computer, to store your keys. The server's README also describes two transaction tools that are not on the sheet; the sheet is what tells you what Claude actually has. The directory badge is not a security audit.

FAQ

Claude Revolut X connector: common questions

01What can Claude do with the Revolut X connector?
Claude can look at your Revolut X account and the market from the chat. It reads your balances, open and past orders, their fills and fees, prices, candle history, the order book and public trades. It also simulates grid trading strategies on past data and answers your questions from Revolut X help articles. Two tools only exist to set up access on your computer, and none of the tools places an order.
02Can Claude place or cancel orders on Revolut X?
No. Revolut built this server read-only as far as your account goes: it cannot place, amend or cancel an order, and its tool descriptions tell Claude not to try. When you ask for a purchase or a sale, Claude points you to get_trading_setup, which explains how to install the revx command-line tool and the Claude Code plugin. The only two write tools store keys on your computer, not in your account.
03Does Claude ask before it acts?
By default, yes: Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for you. No source describes a confirmation specific to generate_keypair or configure_api_key. Revolut adds its own rules: Claude has to confirm a grid simulation's parameters with you before running it, and confirm the scope of any query beyond 30 days or covering all history. On Team or Enterprise, owners can also restrict what the connector may do.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule is that desktop extensions, which this connector is, install on Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector first. The directory sheet remains the only place that shows the current state for your own account, so check it there rather than relying on an article like this one.
05Does Claude see my whole Revolut X account?
It sees what your API key opens to it for reading: balances, orders, fills and fees. According to Revolut, the server connects only to revx.revolut.com and needs read access to a single configuration folder on your computer. The server's README also describes two transaction tools that are not on the directory sheet; the sheet is what tells you what Claude has. Keep your key private: Revolut reminds you the keys it handles authorise real trades, even though this connector itself never places one.
06Why won't Claude tell me whether to buy?
Because Revolut forbids it in its server's instructions. To any question about whether to buy, sell or hold, the only accepted answer is to say it cannot give investment advice and to offer your current position, the live price or your profit and loss. Grid simulations, for their part, are simulations of past data according to Revolut, not predictions or guarantees, so they cannot settle that question for you either.
07Claude or an automation tool for Revolut X?
They do different jobs, so it comes down to the use. Claude with this connector answers when you talk to it: reviewing balances, going back over orders, simulating a strategy. An automation platform runs in the background and reacts to events with nobody involved. For a price alert or a bot that trades, Revolut points to its own command-line tool and Claude Code plugin anyway, not to this connector, which only reads.
