Overview

What changes when Claude can query trivago

With this connector, you tell Claude where and when you travel, and it queries trivago's metasearch of major booking sites while it answers. Back come live accommodation offers with prices from several booking sites, ratings, amenities, photos and a link per property, plus a monthly price forecast when your dates are open.

Stays in a city, filtered. trivago-accommodation-search takes a destination, dates and guests, and narrows by star rating, guest rating or amenities.

Stays near one exact place. When the anchor is a landmark, an address or a venue rather than a city, trivago-accommodation-radius-search searches around that point and returns the same kind of filterable results.

The cheaper month. If your dates are flexible, trivago-destination-price-trends forecasts average, minimum and maximum nightly rates by star rating across a window, which helps pick when to go.

What it will not do: no tool is described as booking, paying or holding a room. Results come back with links, and the booking itself happens on the provider's site. The forecast is a projection, not a live availability check. And Claude only calls these tools while it is answering you; nothing watches prices in the background. Vocabulary

Five terms worth knowing first

The words Claude uses around this connector, explained once.

Connector
A link you add once between Claude and an outside service, which Claude then uses during your conversations.
Tool
A single named capability the connector gives Claude. Claude chooses which ones to call; the directory sheet names each of them.
Authorization
The consent screen a service shows when you connect it, where you grant the access Claude will use. One per person, and revocable.
Approval
The go-ahead Claude waits for before it does something that changes an account, displayed in the chat right when it is needed.
MCP
The common standard behind connectors, which is what allows an assistant such as Claude to exchange with trivago's search.
Connect

Add trivago to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the connector list

In Claude's settings, go to Customize, then Connectors, and search for trivago. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner switches the connector on for the organization first; members connect afterwards.

  2. 02

    Connect it

Press Connect on the trivago row. trivago describes the same short path on its own page: open Connectors, search trivago, connect. If the link stops working later, use Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Check what any screen asks

If a consent screen shows up, read it before accepting: it belongs to the service, not to Claude, and defines the access. trivago says there is no API key and no configuration to handle on your side.

Tools

The 3 tools, grouped by what they do

Trivago gives Claude 3 tools: 3 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.

All three read: two search for stays and one forecasts prices. trivago describes each of them, and the names stay as Claude displays them.

Approvals

What Claude checks with you before acting

Claude's default is to pause and ask before any action it carries out on an account for you. Every trivago tool here only searches or forecasts, so in normal use nothing calls for that pause.

On Team and Enterprise, owners choose whether members may let certain actions run without a fresh prompt each time. They can also restrict what a connector is allowed to do across the organization, keeping reads open and blocking writes, and no member can undo that from a personal account. Claude acts with the rights of whoever connected it and nothing beyond. The official per-tool read or write label is only visible inside a connected account's settings.

Plans

Plans: what is and is not published

Out of 819 sheets in the official directory, not one shows which plans a connector is available on. That per-connector answer is published nowhere.

The published rule is general: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector before members can use it. The publisher's own page names plans for this connector, and that claim appears in the conflict further down. To know where it stands for you, open its directory sheet.

Limits

Where the Claude Trivago connector stops

This is not an automation. Claude calls trivago while it answers you, and nothing triggers when a rate drops overnight.

A tool list made only of reads is a floor someone observed, not a ceiling: an admin can unlock actions no public sheet lists. The directory's verification badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it does not choose a publisher's tools. Only trivago documents this connector, on its own page and in its tool descriptions; neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's developer docs cover it.

Two official sources disagree

Which Claude plans can use the trivago connector?

What this page followsNeither side is marked out of date. Anthropic's rule covers every connector; trivago's line targets this one but comes from the publisher, on an undated page. Check the connector's directory sheet from your own account before relying on either.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Trivago connector

01What can Claude do with the trivago connector?
Claude can search hotel offers through trivago's metasearch while it answers you. One tool searches by destination or point of interest with dates, guests and filters on stars, guest rating and amenities. Another searches around precise coordinates such as an address or a venue. The third forecasts average, minimum and maximum nightly rates by month for a destination, which helps when your dates are flexible. Each search result comes with a price from several booking sites and a link to the property.
02Can Claude book or pay for a hotel through trivago?
No source describes that. The three tools listed on the directory sheet search offers or forecast prices, and trivago marks all three as read-only. Results include links to each property, and the booking happens on the provider's site. Remember that a read-only list is what the public sheet shows today: an admin can open actions that do not appear on any public page, so look at the sheet again if new tools appear.
03Does Claude ask for approval before searching trivago?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before any action it takes on an account for you. The trivago tools only search and forecast, so in normal use there is nothing to confirm. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members can let some actions run without a new prompt, and they can restrict what the connector does for the whole organization. No source describes an approval step specific to trivago, and none of its three tools is presented as changing anything.
04Which Claude plans include the trivago connector?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets displays it. Anthropic's general rule opens remote connectors to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. The publisher's own page names a narrower list of plans, which does not match that rule; both versions sit side by side in the limits section above. Check the connector's directory sheet from your account.
05Does Claude get access to my trivago account?
No source describes signing in to a trivago account for this connector. trivago says there is no API key and no configuration to handle, and the three tools query public hotel offers and price trends. Saved searches, favorites or past bookings are not mentioned in any tool description. As a general rule, Claude only reaches what the connected person can reach, and a Team or Enterprise owner can restrict the connector for everyone.
06Is the trivago price trend a price I can book today?
No. trivago describes the price trend tool as a forecast for planning questions, such as the cheapest month to visit a city or how rates move through the year. It returns average, minimum and maximum nightly rates by star rating over a window, not live availability. For an actual offer on your dates, Claude uses one of the two search tools, which return current prices from several booking sites with a link per property.
07Claude or an automation tool for trivago hotel prices?
They serve different jobs, so pick by task rather than by ranking. Claude suits an open question in conversation: where to stay, when it is cheaper, which of three hotels fits, with tools called only while it answers. An automation platform suits a repeated job that runs on a schedule without you, like a recurring price check. The connector itself schedules nothing, and an automation does not discuss options with you.
