Overview

What changes once Claude can reach your meetings

Rather than clicking through the Webex calendar, opening a finished session and hunting for its notes, you ask Claude in plain words. It looks up the meeting itself, reads the recap or the transcript, and can also set up, move or call off a session for you, with the invitations Webex sends on its side.

Book the follow-up without leaving the chat. A project lead wants a review next Tuesday with four people: Claude uses webex-create-meeting with a title, time, duration and invitee list, and Webex emails the invitations.

Catch up on a call you missed. Claude finds the session with webex-list-meetings, then pulls its AI notes and action items through webex-get-meeting-summary, provided the meeting is over and Webex AI Assistant is on.

Work from what was actually said. webex-list-transcripts can bring the full plain-text transcript into the conversation, so Claude can quote a decision or draft minutes from the real words.

What it will not do: no tool summarizes a meeting still in progress or not yet held, and nothing starts by itself when a call ends. Claude acts only while it answers you. If you want a recap mailed out every time a session closes, that is a job for an automation tool; the Webex Meetings Make integration covers that use, and the Integrations hub lists the other platforms.

Vocabulary

Five words before you connect

The vocabulary Claude uses around this connector, in one minute.

Connector
A link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named action the connector gives Claude. Claude chooses the ones it needs by itself, and the directory lists each by name.
Authorization
The Webex sign-in screen where you hand Claude the access it will use later. Granted once per person, and it can be withdrawn.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before doing something that changes your account, shown in the conversation when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors run on: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude talk to an outside service like Webex.
Connect

Connect Webex Meetings to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Webex Meetings in Claude

Open Claude's settings, go to Customize then Connectors, and look for Webex Meetings in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable the connector before members can each sign in.

  2. 02

    Launch the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Webex in the window that Webex opens itself. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and connect once more; that usually repairs it.

  3. 03

    Check the authorization screen

Read the Webex authorization screen before accepting. It belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from your Webex account itself.

Tools

The 8 tools, split by what they do

Webex Meetings gives Claude 8 tools: 5 that read your account, 3 that change something in it.

Two groups here: what Claude reads, and what it changes in your Webex calendar. Every tool is described by Cisco. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

What Claude reads (5)

5 tools

Five tools that look at meetings, recaps, recordings and transcripts without touching them.

webex-list-meetings

Searches your Webex meetings by date range, topic, state or type and returns the matches. Claude also uses it to turn a meeting name you mention into the exact session it needs to work on.

When it helps
you ask which client calls are on your calendar next week and want them in one list.
Watch out
it only finds sessions your own Webex account can see.

webex-get-meeting-status

Fetches the details of one meeting and, if asked, who is in it right now. You get the setup of the session plus a live attendee list when the call is running.

When it helps
the board call has started and you wonder who is missing.
Watch out
the participant list is optional, so ask for it explicitly if that is what you need.

Sourcedeveloper.webex.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

webex-get-meeting-summary

Brings back the notes Webex AI produced after a call, in HTML, together with the action items it spotted. Claude can then rework them into an email or a to-do list.

When it helps
you missed the weekly sync and want the three decisions and who owns what.
Watch out
it covers ended meetings only, and requires Webex AI Assistant to be active.

webex-list-recordings

Returns the metadata of your recordings along with their playback and download links and their passwords. Claude hands you the way in rather than the video itself.

When it helps
a colleague asks for the replay of Thursday's training and you do not want to dig for it.
Watch out
those links and passwords land in the conversation, so think twice before sharing it.

Sourcedeveloper.webex.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

webex-list-transcripts

Shows which transcripts exist. On request, it also downloads the whole plain text of one, so Claude can quote, search or summarise the exact wording of a session instead of guessing.

When it helps
legal wants the precise sentence where a price was agreed during last month's call.
Watch out
full content is an option; by default Claude may only see the metadata.

What Claude changes (3)

3 tools

Three tools that schedule, edit or cancel meetings. No source spells out a confirmation for them, so the general rule below applies.

webex-create-meeting

Approval: see the rule

Schedules a new session with a title, start time, duration, invitees, recurrence and password. Webex then emails the invitations to the people on the list.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a confirmation for this tool, so the general approval rule below is what covers it.
When it helps
a recruiter sets a weekly slot with a hiring panel in one sentence.

Sourcedeveloper.webex.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

webex-update-meeting

Approval: see the rule

Changes an existing session: title, time, agenda or recurrence, and the guest list, where people can be added, edited or removed. The meeting stays the same one; only its settings move.

What Claude asks for
Cisco documents no specific prompt here; the default approval rule applies.
When it helps
a speaker drops out and the Friday webinar needs a new time plus one fewer invitee.

Sourcedeveloper.webex.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

webex-delete-meeting

Approval: see the rule

Removes a scheduled meeting from Webex, with the option of sending a cancellation email to the people invited.

What Claude asks for
nothing specific is documented for this tool, so rely on the general rule and read before you confirm.
When it helps
a client cancels and you want the slot cleared and the guests told.
Watch out
the cancellation email is optional; say whether you want it.

Approvals

What Claude checks with you first

By default, Claude stops and asks before each action it takes on an account for someone. The prompt shows up in the conversation at the moment it matters.

On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether a member may let some actions pass without a prompt every time. They can also cap what a connector may do for the whole organization, for example keeping reading open and writing shut, and nobody gets around that from their own account. Claude also works with the rights of the person who connected: Cisco says the server calls Webex on behalf of the signed-in user, so a meeting you cannot open stays out of reach.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. Per connector, that answer is published nowhere, and it is a real gap in the catalog.

What is published is the general rule: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization before members can each connect. For the live state of this one, check its sheet in the official directory. Note that only Cisco documents this connector; no Claude help page covers it.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you, so nothing fires when a meeting ends or a recording becomes available.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an administrator can open actions that no public sheet shows. The partner badge in the directory is not a security audit either, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it neither picks the tools a publisher exposes nor guarantees they behave as announced. Connect only what comes from a publisher you trust, here Cisco itself. To compare with a connector from another publisher, see the Claude asana connector page.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Webex Meetings connector

01What can Claude do with the Webex Meetings connector?
Claude can look up, schedule and tidy your Webex meetings from the conversation. Its eight tools list and filter meetings, read the details and live attendees of one session, fetch AI summaries and action items of ended calls, list recordings with their links, and read full transcripts. On the writing side, it can create, update and delete meetings, including guest lists. Cisco documents every one of these tools, so nothing on the list is a guess.
02Can Claude create or cancel Webex meetings for me?
Yes, three tools change your calendar. One creates a meeting with a title, time, duration, invitees, recurrence and password, and Webex then emails the invitations. Another edits an existing meeting and its guest list. The third deletes a scheduled session and can send a cancellation email. Cisco links all three to a single schedule-writing permission, so they arrive together when you authorize the connector. By default, Claude still asks before each of those changes.
03Does Claude ask before it changes a meeting?
By default, yes: Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone. No source describes a specific prompt for creating, updating or deleting a Webex meeting, so that default rule is what covers them. In an organization workspace, owners choose whether members may let certain actions through without being asked each time, and they can also block writing for the whole organization while keeping lookups available.
04Which Claude plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Cisco's page does not name any Claude plan. The directory sheet of the connector is the only place that shows its current state for your account.
05Can Claude see every meeting in our Webex organization?
No, Claude works with your rights and nothing more. Cisco explains that the server calls Webex on behalf of the signed-in user, so Claude reaches the meetings, recordings and transcripts your own account can already open. A session you were never part of, or a recording you have no access to, stays invisible in the conversation. On top of that, an owner of your Claude workspace can narrow what the connector may do for everyone.
06Why does Claude find no summary for my meeting?
Most likely the meeting has not ended yet, or Webex AI Assistant is not on for it. Cisco describes the summary tool as returning AI notes and action items for ended meetings only, and says it requires that assistant. For a session still running, Claude can check who is in it through the status tool instead. For a finished call without AI notes, the transcript tool is the other route, provided a transcript exists.
07Should I use Claude or an automation tool with Webex Meetings?
They answer different needs, so the choice depends on the task rather than on which is better. Claude suits one-off requests in a conversation: find a meeting, read its transcript, move it, draft minutes. It acts only while you talk to it. An automation tool suits repeated flows that must run unattended, such as posting every recap to a channel when a meeting ends. Many teams use both side by side.
