What you can automate

What can the ablefy Make integration do for you?

The ablefy Make integration links your ablefy account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each module being one brick such as a trigger, an action or a search. Once connected, Make can spot new payments and refunds in ablefy and act on your products and publishers for you.

Refunds that reach the right person. Watch Refunds starts a scenario when a refund shows up, and the next module can pass it to the tool your support or finance team already reads. Nobody has to open ablefy to find out a customer asked for their money back.

A payment with its product attached. Watch Payments picks up each new payment, then Get a Product reads the product behind it, so the following app receives a complete picture instead of a bare amount.

A catalog kept in step. Create a Product and Update a Product let another app feed your ablefy catalog, while List Products and List Pricing Plans give you what already exists before you change anything. For affiliate programs, List Publishers and Enroll a Publisher to a Program handle the enrollment side.

Know the limits before you start: Make itself states it cannot yet provide complete documentation for ablefy, as public information about the app is thin. Expect to test each module with real data, and use Make an API Call for anything the listed modules skip. If a scenario stalls, Make troubleshooting covers the usual causes. The same app may also have an n8n node; n8n vs Make lays out the criteria, and Make training helps you get started on the editor.

Connect

How do you connect your ablefy account to Make?

  1. 01

    Add an ablefy module

In your scenario, click the +, search for ablefy and pick any of its modules. Then click Create a connection. A connection is your ablefy account linked to Make once, then reused by every ablefy module.

  2. 02

Name the connection and authorize Make

Naming it is optional but handy if you manage several ablefy accounts. Then either authorize Make on the ablefy page that opens, or paste the key ablefy gives you, depending on what the window asks for.

  3. 03

    Save and check the lists

Click Save. The connection now appears in the module. Once it exists, Make can list the objects it is able to read in ablefy, which is a quick sign the link works before you fill anything else.

First scenario

Build your first scenario with ablefy

GoalWhen a new payment comes into ablefy, Make reads the product that was sold.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario, then click the + in the middle of the editor to place your first module.

  2. 02

    Set the Watch Payments trigger

Search for ablefy, choose Watch Payments and select your connection, or create it if this is your first ablefy module. Fill the fields the module shows.

  3. 03

    Add Get a Product

Click the + on the right of the trigger and add Get a Product. Map the product data from the payment so Make knows which product to read.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make executes the scenario one time and shows the bundles each module received, a bundle being one item, here one payment, passed along.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch it on

Open the clock on the first module to set the schedule, every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. From then on each new payment goes through by itself.

Triggers

What starts an ablefy scenario

2 modules start a scenario when something happens in ablefy. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by ablefy as soon as it happens.

ablefy1Watch Payments

Watch Payments

triggerIn the docs only

You get each new payment from ablefy as a bundle at the start of your scenario, ready to be passed to an accounting tool, a CRM or a message.

How it fires
scheduled. Make checks ablefy on the scenario's schedule, so a payment shows up at the next check rather than the instant it happens.
When to use it
any time a sale in ablefy should set something off elsewhere, such as a welcome message or a row in a sales sheet.
Watch out
Make lists this trigger in its docs without a description, so run it once on a real payment to see exactly what it returns.
ablefy2Watch Refunds

Watch Refunds

triggerIn the docs only

This trigger hands you every new refund issued in ablefy, which lets your scenario warn the right people or reverse what the original sale had started.

How it fires
scheduled. Make checks ablefy on the scenario's schedule and picks up the refunds that appeared since the previous check.
When to use it
when a refund should remove access, alert support or add a line to your finance follow-up.
Watch out
it only sees refunds, never the original sale. Track sales with Watch Payments, and test each trigger with Run once on a real case before you rely on it.
Modules

Everything the ablefy modules can do

ablefy gives you 8 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

ablefy1

Create a Product

ActionIn the docs only

Adds a new product to your ablefy catalog straight from a scenario, so an offer prepared in another tool ends up for sale without retyping it.

When to use it
when products are planned in a spreadsheet or a project tool and should appear in ablefy once they are approved.
Watch out
each run creates a product; test on a dummy entry first, then check nothing gets created twice if the source row is edited again.
ablefy2

Enroll a Publisher to a Program

ActionIn the docs only

Puts a publisher, meaning an affiliate, into one of your ablefy programs. No more enrolling partners one by one in the dashboard.

When to use it
after a partner fills in a form or gets approved in your CRM, so the enrollment follows on its own.
Watch out
you need to know which publisher and which program to target; List Publishers placed before it gives you the publisher to map.
ablefy3

Get a Product

ActionIn the docs only

Reads one specific ablefy product and returns its details, handy to enrich a payment or an order with what was actually sold.

When to use it
right after Watch Payments, when the next app needs the product and not just the payment.
Watch out
it targets a single product, so it needs a product reference mapped from an earlier module; to browse the catalog, List Products fits better.
ablefy4

List Pricing Plans

SearchIn the docs only

Returns the pricing plans set up in your ablefy account, which lets a scenario work with the real offers instead of values typed in by hand.

When to use it
when you sync your price grid to a website, a sheet or a sales tool and want the ablefy version as the reference.
Watch out
as a search, it can return zero, one or several bundles, and each bundle costs an operation in the modules that follow.
ablefy5

List Products

SearchIn the docs only

Gives you the products of your ablefy catalog, one bundle per product, so you can review or copy them into another tool in one go.

When to use it
to fill an inventory sheet, or to check that a product exists before Create a Product adds a duplicate.
Watch out
every product returned runs the following modules once, and each of those runs counts as operations on your plan.
ablefy6

List Publishers

SearchIn the docs only

Pulls the publishers tied to your ablefy account, which makes it easy to know who promotes your products before you act on them.

When to use it
ahead of Enroll a Publisher to a Program, or to keep a partner list up to date in your CRM.
Watch out
an empty result stops nothing on its own, so the later modules simply receive no bundle; click Run once and look at what each module received.
ablefy7

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Reaches any endpoint of the ablefy API with the connection you already set up, which covers what the other nine modules leave out.

When to use it
when you need an ablefy object or action that has no dedicated module, and you would rather not wait for a new module.
Watch out
you have to know the endpoint and its format yourself, and public documentation on ablefy is limited, so test with Run once before switching on.
ablefy8

Update a Product

ActionIn the docs only

Changes an existing ablefy product, so a correction made in your source tool reaches the catalog without a manual edit.

When to use it
when a description or a setting is maintained elsewhere and ablefy should mirror it after each change.
Watch out
it overwrites what you map; pick the right product with Get a Product or List Products first, because a wrong target is not undone for you.

FAQ

Questions about the ablefy Make integration

01Is the ablefy Make integration free?
Yes, ablefy is a standard app, available from the Make Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute and remove the cap on active scenarios. Make counts usage in operations, one per module run on one bundle. The price of ablefy itself is a separate matter.
02What do you need to connect ablefy to Make?
An ablefy account and a Make account are enough to start. Make does not publish a specific connection guide for ablefy, so the generic steps apply: add an ablefy module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, authorize Make on the ablefy page or paste the key ablefy provides, then click Save. The connection is created once and every ablefy module reuses it afterwards, so you will not repeat this for each module.
03Do ablefy triggers in Make react in real time?
No. Going by their names, since Make's docs describe neither, Watch Payments and Watch Refunds are scheduled triggers: Make checks ablefy on the scenario's schedule rather than being called by ablefy the moment something happens. A new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default, which is also the shortest interval on the Free plan. Paid plans can go down to 1 minute. A payment made between two checks is picked up at the next one, so nothing is lost, only delayed.
04What if the ablefy module you need is missing in Make?
It depends on what you need, but Make an API Call is the usual answer. It calls any endpoint of the ablefy API with the same connection as the other modules, which covers objects and actions without a dedicated module. Keep in mind that Make says its ablefy documentation is incomplete because little public information exists, so plan a few test runs with Run once to get the call right.
05Should you use Make or n8n for ablefy?
It depends on your criteria rather than on ablefy. On Make you get the 10 modules described here, including 2 scheduled triggers and Make an API Call, all usable without code from the Free plan. The same app may also have an n8n node. Compare the modules each tool offers for ablefy against the events you really need, and pick the editor your team is most at ease with day to day.
