What you can automate

What can the Agentalk Make integration do for you?

The Agentalk Make integration lets Make create, update, tag and call your Agentalk contacts from any other app you already use. You build a scenario (the automation itself, a chain of modules), and each module (one brick of that chain) does one job in Agentalk. There is no Agentalk trigger, so another app or a schedule starts the flow.

Every web lead lands in a campaign. A form tool sends a new sign-up, Create or Update Contact writes it into Agentalk without creating a duplicate, and Add Contact to Campaign puts that person in the right sequence.

Tags follow your pipeline. When a deal changes stage in your CRM, Add Tag to Contact or Remove Tag from Contact keeps Agentalk segments in line, so nobody gets a message meant for another stage.

A call goes out when it matters. A support ticket flagged as urgent can end with Outbound Call, after Search Contacts has found the right person.

Know the limits before you start. Make labels the Agentalk documentation as limited: it lists the modules but gives no field, format or quota, so test each module with a sample before trusting it. Agentalk is a standard app, available from the Free plan up, and the Make pricing page explains how operations are counted. If you are weighing both tools, read n8n vs Make; to learn the editor itself, the Make training covers the basics.

Connect

How do you connect Agentalk to Make?

  1. 01

    Add an Agentalk module

In your scenario, click the +, type Agentalk in the search box and pick any of its modules. The first time, Make shows a Create a connection button: a connection is your Agentalk account linked to Make once, then reused by every module.

  2. 02

    Name the connection

Giving the connection a name is optional, but it helps when you manage several Agentalk accounts, say one per client or per brand. Pick something you will recognize later in the connection list.

  3. 03

    Authorize and save

Depending on what Agentalk asks, either approve access on its own authorization page or paste the key your Agentalk account gives you. Then click Save. Make can now read and write in your account.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Agentalk

GoalWhen a lead arrives in another app, Make saves it in Agentalk and drops it into a campaign.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. Pick the app where your leads land first, a form tool for example, since Agentalk has no trigger of its own.

  2. 02

    Save the contact in Agentalk

Click the + on the right of that first module and choose Agentalk, then Create or Update Contact. Map the lead details from the previous module into the fields Make shows.

  3. 03

    Add it to a campaign

Add one more module: Add Contact to Campaign. Map the contact returned by the step before and choose the campaign that should welcome new leads. Make lists what it can read through your connection.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once and send a test lead. Open each module's bubble to read the bundle it received, a bundle being one item passed from module to module, here one contact.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

On the first module, set the Scheduling: every 15 minutes by default. Then turn the scenario on. Each module run counts as one operation on your Make plan.

Modules

What each Agentalk module does

Agentalk gives you 16 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Agentalk1

Add Contact to Campaign

ActionIn the docs only

Puts an existing Agentalk contact into one of your campaigns, so the sequence you built there starts working on that person without a manual click.

When to use it
right after a lead is created or qualified in another tool, to hand it straight to the matching campaign.
Watch out
the name suggests it works on an existing contact, so place Create or Update Contact before it in the flow.
Agentalk2

Add Tag to Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Labels a contact with a tag, which gives you a clean way to build segments in Agentalk from events that happen in other apps.

When to use it
a customer pays an invoice or books a demo, and you want Agentalk to know it on the spot.
Watch out
the tag most likely has to exist already, so create it once with Create New Tag if needed.
Agentalk3

Clear Contact Field

ActionIn the docs only

Empties one field on a contact instead of overwriting it with a new value, which keeps stale information from following someone around.

When to use it
a lead withdraws consent or changes company, and an old value should simply disappear.
Watch out
a cleared value does not come back, so test on a sample contact before you run it at scale.
Agentalk4

Create Custom Field

ActionIn the docs only

Adds a new custom field to your Agentalk account, so data coming from another tool has a place to live on each contact.

When to use it
during setup, when a new form question or CRM property needs its own slot in Agentalk.
Watch out
this is a structure change rather than a daily action; running it on every bundle would try to create the same field again and again.
Agentalk5

Create New Tag

ActionIn the docs only

Creates a tag in Agentalk that other modules can then attach to contacts. It prepares your labels instead of touching any person.

When to use it
a new product line or event name shows up upstream and you want a matching segment ready before tagging anyone.
Watch out
the documentation says nothing about duplicate names, so check existing tags before letting a scenario create them.
Agentalk6

Create or Update Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Writes a contact into Agentalk: a new record when the person is unknown, an update when they already exist. It is the safest entry point for leads coming from elsewhere.

When to use it
almost every scenario that brings people from a form, a shop or a CRM into Agentalk.
Watch out
Make does not document how Agentalk matches existing contacts, so check a known contact with Run once.
Agentalk7

Delete Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Removes a contact from Agentalk for good, which keeps your list aligned with the tool that holds the truth about your customers.

When to use it
a person asks to be erased, or a record is removed in your main CRM and must vanish from Agentalk too.
Watch out
a deletion cannot be undone; add a filter before this module so only the intended bundles reach it.
Agentalk8

Get Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Fetches one contact you already identify, so the next modules can use its current details rather than the ones stored somewhere else.

When to use it
you hold a contact reference from an earlier step and need its latest data before deciding what to do.
Watch out
it reads a single known record; to look someone up by other information, Search Contacts is the better pick.
Agentalk9

Get Custom Fields

ActionIn the docs only

Lists the custom fields defined in your Agentalk account, which gives you a quick way to see what data a scenario can fill or read.

When to use it
before mapping a new form, or as a check step ahead of Create Custom Field so you do not add a field twice.
Watch out
the result may hold several items, so plan how later modules will handle each one.
Agentalk10

Get Phone Numbers

ActionIn the docs only

Returns the phone numbers attached to your Agentalk account, so a scenario can pick the right one instead of relying on a value typed by hand.

When to use it
ahead of Outbound Call, when calls should leave from different numbers per team or per region.
Watch out
Make gives no detail on the output, so read it once with Run once before mapping it.
Agentalk11

Make an API Request (Universal)

ActionIn the docs only

Sends a request of your own to Agentalk, for the cases the other fifteen modules do not cover. Flexible, yes, but clearly the most technical option here.

When to use it
you know Agentalk offers an operation that no ready-made module exposes.
Watch out
Make publishes no guide for it on Agentalk, so you need the app's own API reference to fill it correctly.
Agentalk12

Outbound Call

ActionIn the docs only

Starts a call from Agentalk to a contact, which turns an event in another app into an actual conversation without anyone dialing.

When to use it
a hot lead fills a demo request, or an urgent ticket needs a voice follow-up rather than one more email.
Watch out
every run means a real call to a real person, so test with your own number before switching the scenario on.
Agentalk13

Remove Tag from Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Takes a tag off a contact, so the person leaves a segment as soon as the situation that justified it has changed.

When to use it
a trial becomes a paying account, and the trial tag should stop pulling that contact into trial messages.
Watch out
pair it with Add Tag to Contact in the same branch when one label replaces another.
Agentalk14

Search Contacts

SearchIn the docs only

Looks for contacts in Agentalk and hands back what it finds, which lets a scenario check before it creates, tags or calls anyone.

When to use it
another tool gives you only part of a person's details and you need the matching Agentalk record.
Watch out
a search can return zero, one or several bundles; each result runs the next modules once, which costs operations.
Agentalk15

Start Campaign

ActionIn the docs only

Launches an Agentalk campaign from Make, so the moment it begins depends on an event rather than on someone opening the app.

When to use it
a list is ready after an import or an event sign-up closes, and the campaign should go out right then.
Watch out
a scenario that runs twice could start it twice; test with Run once on a test campaign first.
Agentalk16

Update Contact Fields

ActionIn the docs only

Changes selected fields on an existing contact while leaving the rest as it is. Handy when only one piece of information moves.

When to use it
an order status, a plan or an appointment date changes in another tool and Agentalk should reflect it.
Watch out
the contact must already exist; for leads that may be new, Create or Update Contact is safer.

FAQ

Agentalk and Make: common questions

01Is the Agentalk Make integration free?
Yes. Agentalk is a standard app in Make, so it works on the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run and files up to 5 MB. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) bring the interval down to 1 minute and remove the cap on active scenarios. Usage is counted in operations, one per module run. Your Agentalk subscription is a separate matter that this page does not cover.
02What do you need to connect Agentalk to Make?
An Agentalk account and a Make account are enough; the documentation lists no other prerequisite. Add any Agentalk module, click Create a connection, give it a name if you like, then either authorize Make on the Agentalk page or paste the key your account provides, and click Save. The connection is created once and reused by all 16 modules. Since Make describes its Agentalk documentation as limited, keep your Agentalk account open in case you need to find that key.
03Does Agentalk trigger Make scenarios in real time?
No, because Agentalk has no trigger module in Make: all 16 modules are actions or a search. Your scenario therefore starts elsewhere. Either another app launches it, for example a form tool whose instant trigger calls Make through a webhook as soon as someone submits, or the scenario runs on its schedule, every 15 minutes by default. Agentalk modules then act on the bundles that first module delivers, one contact at a time.
04What if an Agentalk module is missing in Make?
It depends on what you need. Agentalk has no Make an API Call module, but it does have Make an API Request (Universal), which lets you send your own request to Agentalk if you know its API. Make gives no guide for it, because the app documentation is limited. If that route feels too technical, you can pass the data through another app you already use, or ask the team for help with the setup.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Agentalk?
It depends on the tool your team already runs. On Make, Agentalk comes with 16 ready modules covering contacts, tags, custom fields, campaigns and calls, all usable from the Free plan. Many apps also exist as n8n nodes, so check whether Agentalk has one before choosing. Pick the platform where your other automations live, since keeping everything in one place makes scenarios easier to maintain. The comparison page linked above goes through both tools criterion by criterion.
