What you can automate

What can the Emelia Make integration do for your outreach?

The Emelia Make integration links your Emelia account to Make, so Emelia campaigns can react to other tools and other tools can react to Emelia. You build a scenario (the automation itself), made of modules (one brick each: a trigger, an action or a search). No code involved, only fields to fill.

A prospect list that fills itself. A lead lands in your form or your CRM, Find Email looks up an address from the name and company, then Add Contact to an Email Campaign drops the person into a running sequence. If the campaign is live, the contact enters the sequence on its own.

A clean stop for people who say no. When a contact should never hear from you again, Add Contact to Blacklist takes care of it, whatever campaign they sit in. Pair it with Watch Email Campaign Activities to act as soon as Emelia reports something new.

A report when a campaign wraps up. Watch Email Campaign Ending fires once a campaign is marked finished, and List Email Campaign Contacts by Filter pulls, for example, everyone marked as replied, ready to hand over to sales.

What Make does not give you: a Make an API Call module for Emelia, and the official documentation is thin, so some details only show up when you test. If you prefer the other big automation tool, read the Emelia n8n integration or the n8n vs Make comparison. New to the editor? The Make training starts from zero.

Connect

How do you connect Emelia to Make?

  1. 01

    Add an Emelia module

Inside a scenario, click the +, type Emelia and pick any module. Its settings panel opens with a button labeled Create a connection: a connection is your Emelia account linked to Make once, then reused by every Emelia module.

  2. 02

    Name it and authorize

Give the connection a name you will recognize later, such as the workspace it belongs to. Then follow what Make shows: either an Emelia authorization page to approve, or a field where you paste the key Emelia gives you.

  3. 03

    Save and check the lists

Click Save. If it worked, the module can now read your account, so the fields that expect a campaign or a list offer your real Emelia campaigns and lists instead of an empty box.

First scenario

Your first scenario: enrich a lead and add it to an Emelia campaign

GoalWhen a new lead arrives in another tool, Make finds an email address with Emelia and adds the person to your email campaign.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

From the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. Choose the app where your leads appear first, such as a form tool or a CRM, and its module for new records.

  2. 02

    Add Find Email

Click the + to the right of that first module, search for Emelia and pick Find Email. Create the connection if this is your first Emelia module, then map the name and company from the lead.

  3. 03

Add the contact to a campaign

Add Add Contact to an Email Campaign next. Make lists your Emelia campaigns: pick the target one, then map the email returned by Find Email and the lead details you want to carry over.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once and create a test lead in the source tool. Open each module's bundles to confirm an address was found and the contact reached the right campaign.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch it on

Set the schedule on the first module (every 15 minutes by default) and switch the scenario on. From then on, each new lead flows into Emelia without you touching it.

Triggers

Emelia triggers in Make

4 modules start a scenario when something happens in Emelia. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Emelia as soon as it happens.

Emelia1Watch Advanced Campaign Activities

Watch Advanced Campaign Activities

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a new campaign activity is detected on Advanced campaign.

Starts your scenario each time Emelia detects a new activity on one of your Advanced campaigns, the multi-channel ones. You get one bundle per activity, ready to push into a CRM, a spreadsheet or a team chat.

How it fires
instant, Emelia calls Make through a webhook as soon as the activity happens, so there is no interval to set.
When to use it
your sequence mixes channels and sales wants to see every movement in one place.
Watch out
it only covers Advanced campaigns; pure email or LinkedIn campaigns have their own triggers.
Emelia2Watch Email Campaign Activities

Watch Email Campaign Activities

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a new campaign activity is detected.

Hands Make every new activity Emelia spots on your email campaigns, so a reaction from a prospect becomes the starting point of whatever comes next: a CRM update, a task, a message to the account owner.

How it fires
instant, Emelia notifies Make through a webhook the moment the activity is detected.
When to use it
you run cold email in Emelia and want the rest of your tools to follow along.
Watch out
run a test first and read the bundle, since the documentation does not detail which activity types come through.
Emelia3Watch Email Campaign Ending

Watch Email Campaign Ending

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when the campaign is marked as FINISHED.

Tells Make that an email campaign is done: the trigger fires once Emelia marks the campaign as finished. That moment is a natural place to wrap things up, like exporting results or starting a follow-up.

How it fires
instant, through a webhook Emelia calls as soon as the status changes.
When to use it
chain it with List Email Campaign Contacts by Filter to hand the people who replied to sales.
Watch out
it reacts to the end of a campaign, not to each contact finishing the sequence.
Emelia4Watch LinkedIn Campaign Activities

Watch LinkedIn Campaign Activities

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a new campaign activity is detected on LinkedIn campaign.

Brings LinkedIn outreach into Make: every new activity Emelia registers on a LinkedIn campaign arrives as a bundle you can route anywhere, from a CRM note to an alert for the rep in charge.

How it fires
instant, the webhook from Emelia reaches Make right after the activity.
When to use it
your team prospects on LinkedIn through Emelia and logs everything elsewhere.
Watch out
email campaign activity does not show up here, so use one trigger per channel and keep separate scenarios if the follow-ups differ.
Modules

What Emelia can do in Make

Emelia gives you 16 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Emelia1

Add Contact to a LinkedIn Campaign

Action

In MakeAdds a contact to an existing LinkedIn campaign. If campaign is running, the contact will be added to the sequence automatically.

Puts a person into one of your existing LinkedIn campaigns, and if that campaign is already running, Emelia slots them into the sequence right away.

When to use it
a lead with a LinkedIn profile lands in your CRM and should be approached there rather than by email.
Watch out
the campaign has to exist first; this module does not create one.
Emelia2

Add Contact to an Advanced Campaign

Action

In MakeAdds a contact to an existing Advanced Campaign (Multi-channel). If campaign is running, the contact will be added to the sequence automatically.

Enrolls a contact in an Advanced campaign, the multi-channel kind, and a running campaign picks them up in its sequence automatically.

When to use it
high-value leads deserve several touchpoints instead of a single email thread.
Watch out
each campaign type has its own add module, so pick this one only when the target campaign is Advanced.
Emelia3

Add Contact to an Email Campaign

Action

In MakeAdds a contact to an existing email campaign. If campaign is running, the contact will be added to the sequence automatically.

The workhorse of this integration: it adds a contact to an existing email campaign, and Emelia starts the sequence for them automatically when the campaign is live.

When to use it
every new sign-up, demo request or enriched lead should start receiving your emails.
Watch out
map a real email address; place Find Email before it when the source only has names.
Emelia4

Add Contact to an Email Contact List

Action

In MakeAdds a contact into an existing contact list.

Files a contact into one of your existing Emelia contact lists without enrolling them in any campaign yet. Think of it as a waiting room for later outreach.

When to use it
you collect leads now and decide later which campaign they belong to.
Watch out
nobody gets emailed from a list alone; add them to a campaign when you are ready.
Emelia5

Add Contact to Blacklist

Action

In MakeAdds a contact into blacklist. This contact will never be contacted again.

Protects your sender reputation and your manners: once a contact is on the Emelia blacklist, Emelia will never contact them again.

When to use it
someone asks to stop, becomes a customer, or turns out to be a competitor, and the request comes through another tool.
Watch out
this is a hard stop across campaigns, so filter carefully before this module to avoid blocking the wrong people.
Emelia6

Create an Email Campaign

Action

In MakeCreates a new campaign with the given name and returns its id.

Spins up a new email campaign from a name you provide and returns its ID, which the next modules can use straight away.

When to use it
each new event, product launch or client project calls for its own campaign, created from a row in your planning tool.
Watch out
map the returned ID into the following modules instead of picking a campaign from the list, since the new one did not exist when you built the scenario.
Emelia7

Delete Contact from an Email Campaign

Action

In MakeDeletes a contact from a campaign. This contact will not be contacted again in this campaign.

Pulls a contact out of a specific email campaign, so they stop receiving that sequence while staying reachable elsewhere.

When to use it
a prospect books a meeting through your calendar tool and the cold sequence should stop.
Watch out
the removal applies to one campaign only; use the blacklist if the person must never be contacted again.
Emelia8

Delete Contact from LinkedIn Campaign

Action

In MakeDeletes a contact from a campaign. This contact will not be contacted again in this campaign.

Takes someone out of a LinkedIn campaign so Emelia stops contacting them in that campaign, without touching their other campaigns.

When to use it
the person already answered on another channel and further LinkedIn messages would feel pushy.
Watch out
an email campaign needs the other delete module; each channel has its own.
Emelia9

Remove Contact from Blacklist

Action

In MakeRemoves a contact from the blacklist. If the contact is in a campaign, sequences will be send to this contact.

Lifts the block on a contact, which means Emelia can reach them again, and if they still sit in a campaign, its sequences start going out to them.

When to use it
someone was blacklisted by mistake, or opts back in through a form.
Watch out
check which campaigns the contact belongs to first, because emails can resume without further warning.
Emelia10

Reply to an Email

Action

In MakeReply to an Email that has been received on a Emelia Campaign

Sends a reply to an email received on one of your Emelia campaigns, straight from the scenario, so the answer lands in the same conversation.

When to use it
a reply comes in and you want a short, prepared answer to go out while a rep is assigned.
Watch out
it only answers a message a prospect sent to your campaign; to reach someone new, add them to a campaign instead.
Emelia11

Set a Custom Field to a Contact (Email Campaign)

Action

In MakeSets a custom field to an existant contact in a campaign.

Writes a value into a custom field of a contact who already sits in an email campaign, so your next emails can use fresher data.

When to use it
your CRM learns the prospect's industry or a meeting date, and the sequence should reflect it.
Watch out
the contact must already exist in the campaign; add them first if needed.
Emelia12

Set a Custom Field to a Contact (LinkedIn Campaign)

Action

In MakeSets a custom field to an existant contact in a LinkedIn campaign.

Same idea on the LinkedIn side: it updates a custom field for a contact already enrolled in a LinkedIn campaign, which keeps personalized messages accurate.

When to use it
a scraping or research step finds a detail worth mentioning in the next LinkedIn message.
Watch out
use the email version for email campaigns; this one only reaches LinkedIn contacts.
Emelia13

Find Email

Search

In MakeEnrich email using contact and company informations.

Looks for a person's email address from what you know about them and their company, turning a bare name into someone you can actually write to.

When to use it
your leads arrive with a name and a company but no address.
Watch out
as a search, it can come back empty; add a filter after it so contacts without an email do not reach your campaign module.
Emelia14

Find Phone Number

Search

In MakeEnrich phone number using contact LinkedIn informations.

Enriches a contact with a phone number, working from their LinkedIn information, which opens the door to a call after the written outreach.

When to use it
a prospect engages and your sales team would rather pick up the phone.
Watch out
without LinkedIn details on the contact it has little to work with, and a search may return nothing.
Emelia15

List Email Campaign Contacts by Filter

Search

In MakeLists contacts in a campaign by filter. By example get all contacts marked as "REPLIED", or all contacts marked as "UNSUBSCRIBED".

Returns the contacts of a campaign that match a status, for instance everyone marked as replied or everyone who unsubscribed.

When to use it
a campaign ends and you want the repliers in your CRM and the unsubscribes in a suppression sheet.
Watch out
it outputs one bundle per contact, so every module after it runs once per person and uses operations (what Make counts on your plan).
Emelia16

List Email Campaigns

Search

In MakeLists campaigns with their status and linked email providers.

Gives you an overview of your email campaigns with their status and the email providers linked to each, all as data Make can pass on.

When to use it
you build a small dashboard or a status digest for the team in a spreadsheet or chat.
Watch out
each campaign comes out as its own bundle; add an aggregator if you want a single summary message.

FAQ

Emelia and Make: common questions

01Is the Emelia Make integration free?
Yes, on the Make side. Emelia is a standard app, so its modules work on the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) bring the interval down to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and count usage in credits each month. Your Emelia subscription is a separate matter, handled with Emelia.
02What do you need to connect Emelia to Make?
An Emelia account and a Make account. The documentation lists no special prerequisite. You add any Emelia module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, then either approve access on the Emelia page or paste the key Emelia provides, and save. The connection is created once and reused by all 20 Emelia modules, so you never repeat the step in the same scenario. If the save fails, check that you are signed in to the right Emelia workspace and try again.
03Do Emelia triggers in Make react in real time?
Yes. All 4 Emelia triggers are instant: Emelia calls Make through a webhook as soon as a campaign activity is detected or a campaign is marked finished. You therefore do not wait for a polling interval on these triggers. Scenarios that start from another app instead, like the lead enrichment example on this page, follow the schedule set on their first module, every 15 minutes by default, or 1 minute at the lowest on paid plans.
04What if the Emelia module you need is missing in Make?
It depends on the gap. Emelia has no Make an API Call module in Make, so you cannot fall back on a raw request to Emelia inside the app. The documentation is also limited, which means some behaviors are only visible by testing with Run once. When a feature is missing, look at whether another app in your scenario can cover it, or check the Emelia n8n integration page. The Hack'celeration team can also review your case and suggest a workaround.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Emelia?
It depends on where the rest of your automations already live. Emelia exists in Make with 20 modules, and it also has an n8n node, described on its own integration page on this site. Compare the operations each tool offers against the exact steps you need, such as blacklisting, enrichment or LinkedIn campaigns. The answer comes from that comparison and from your own setup, not from a ranking between the two tools, and both pages on this site help you check it.
