What you can automate

What can the Infinity Make integration do for you?

The Infinity Make integration links your Infinity account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each one a single brick such as a trigger, an action or a search. Make can watch new items, updated items and new users, then create, read, update or delete items, boards, folders and comments for you.

A welcome note on every new item. Watch Item Created spots each item added to Infinity, and Create a Comment posts a short note on it, so whoever opens the item finds the next step already written.

Tidy folders without clicking around. List Folders and Search Boards give you the current structure, then Create a Folder, Update a Folder or Delete a Folder reshape it from one place.

An eye on your team. Watch New User reacts when someone joins the workspace, and Search Users finds a person before you assign or mention them.

What the integration does not do: the three triggers are scheduled, so Make checks Infinity on the scenario's schedule rather than getting a ping the moment something changes. The official doc also warns that its own content is AI-generated and should be checked against Infinity's documentation. For anything the listed modules miss, Make an API Call reaches the rest of the Infinity API with the same connection.

Connect

How do you connect Infinity to Make?

  1. 01

Turn on developer features in Infinity

You need an active Infinity account. Open Profile in the left sidebar and switch on Developer Features if they are off. This unlocks the Developer section you use in the next step.

  2. 02

Register an app and copy its keys

Go to Developer, then Apps, and click Register a New Application. Paste the callback URI https://www.integromat.com/oauth/cb/infinity, then copy the Client ID and the Client secret shown on screen.

  3. 03

    Create the connection in Make

Add any Infinity module to your scenario and click Create a connection. A connection is your Infinity account linked to Make once and reused by every Infinity module. Give it a name in Connection name if you like, paste your credentials and confirm.

First scenario

Your first scenario: comment on every new Infinity item

GoalWhen an item is created in Infinity, Make posts a comment on it with the next step for your team.

  1. 01

    Start a blank scenario

On the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the big + to add its first module. Type Infinity in the search box to see the app.

  2. 02

    Add Watch Item Created

Pick Watch Item Created and click Create a connection, or choose the connection you already made. Fill the fields: Make lists what it can read in your account once the connection works.

  3. 03

    Add Create a Comment

Click the + on the right of the trigger and choose Create a Comment. Map the item coming from the trigger, then write the comment text your team should see.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Add a test item in Infinity, then click Run once. Each module shows the bundles it received, a bundle being one item passing from one module to the next. Check the comment landed on the right item.

  5. 05

Set the schedule and switch it on

Click the clock on the first module. A new scenario checks every 15 minutes by default, which is also the shortest interval on the Free plan. Then turn the scenario on.

Triggers

Infinity triggers in Make

3 modules start a scenario when something happens in Infinity. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Infinity as soon as it happens.

Infinity1Watch Item Created

Watch Item Created

triggerIn the docs only

Watch Item Created starts your scenario with every item added to Infinity since the last check, one bundle per item, so the rest of the flow can act on fresh work as soon as Make sees it.

How it fires
scheduled, Make checks Infinity on the scenario's schedule, every 15 minutes by default.
When to use it
you want a comment, a copy in another tool or an alert each time a teammate adds an item.
Watch out
every item it returns costs an operation on each module that follows, an operation being one run of one module on one bundle.
Infinity2Watch Item Updated

Watch Item Updated

triggerIn the docs only

Watch Item Updated hands your scenario the items that changed since Make last looked, which lets you follow edits instead of only new entries.

How it fires
scheduled, Make polls Infinity at the interval set on the first module; on paid plans that interval can drop to 1 minute.
When to use it
a status or value changes on an item and another tool, or a comment, must reflect it.
Watch out
if the scenario also updates items with Update an Item, it can pick up its own edits on the next check. Add a filter so it ignores changes it made itself.
Infinity3Watch New User

Watch New User

triggerIn the docs only

Watch New User reports each person who joins your Infinity workspace, giving you one bundle per newcomer to greet, log or add elsewhere.

How it fires
scheduled, Make asks Infinity for new users on the scenario's schedule, never faster than every 15 minutes on the Free plan.
When to use it
onboarding, where a new teammate should get a welcome message or an entry in your HR sheet.
Watch out
a new person appears only after the next scheduled check, so plan onboarding steps that can wait for the interval you picked.
Modules

Every Infinity module in Make

Infinity gives you 20 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Infinity1

Create a Board

ActionIn the docs only

Create a Board sets up a fresh board in Infinity from your scenario, so a new project or client gets its own space without anyone building it by hand.

When to use it
a deal is won in your CRM or a form is submitted, and the work needs a dedicated board straight away.
Watch out
run Search Boards first if the same event can fire twice, or you end up with duplicate boards.
Infinity2

Create a Comment

ActionIn the docs only

Create a Comment writes a note on an Infinity item, which puts context from another app right where your team already looks.

When to use it
a payment clears, a ticket closes or a file arrives elsewhere and the related item should say so.
Watch out
map the item from an earlier module, such as a trigger or Search Items; typing a fixed value would post every comment on the same item.
Infinity3

Create a Folder

ActionIn the docs only

Create a Folder adds a folder in Infinity, giving each new batch of work a place to live as soon as the scenario runs.

When to use it
you group boards by client or by department and a new one just signed up or opened.
Watch out
check with List Folders whether the folder already exists before creating it, especially when the trigger can repeat.
Infinity4

Create an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Create an Item turns an event from any other app into a new Infinity item, so requests, leads or tasks land in your board without copy and paste.

When to use it
a web form, an email or a support ticket should become a piece of work your team tracks in Infinity.
Watch out
pair it with Watch Item Created in another scenario only with care, or the two can trigger each other.
Infinity5

Delete a Comment

ActionIn the docs only

Delete a Comment removes a comment from an item, handy for clearing automated notes that no longer apply once the situation has moved on.

When to use it
a reminder comment posted by a scenario becomes useless after the task is done.
Watch out
treat the deletion as final: get the comment with Get a Comment or Search Comments and filter carefully first.
Infinity6

Delete a Folder

ActionIn the docs only

Delete a Folder takes a folder out of your Infinity workspace, which keeps the structure clean once a client or project is closed.

When to use it
an offboarding flow, where a finished engagement should disappear from the sidebar.
Watch out
treat the deletion as final; test with Run once on a dummy folder and add a filter before letting it run on its own.
Infinity7

Delete an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Delete an Item removes a single item from Infinity, useful when a record elsewhere is cancelled and the matching work should go too.

When to use it
an order is refunded or a request withdrawn, and the item created for it should not linger.
Watch out
treat it as permanent; find the exact item with Search Items first, and route anything ambiguous to a human instead.
Infinity8

Get a Board

ActionIn the docs only

Get a Board fetches one board's details so later modules can use them, for instance to name the board in a message or a report.

When to use it
you already know which board you need, because a trigger or an earlier step handed it over, and you want its data.
Watch out
it reads one known board; to find a board by name, reach for Search Boards instead.
Infinity9

Get a Comment

ActionIn the docs only

Get a Comment pulls the content of one specific comment, so you can copy it to another tool or check it before acting on it.

When to use it
a scenario must forward a comment to chat or email, or confirm its content before an update.
Watch out
you need the comment already identified; when you only know the item, start with Search Comments.
Infinity10

Get a Folder

ActionIn the docs only

Get a Folder returns the details of one folder, which helps a scenario confirm where it is working before it creates or moves anything.

When to use it
you want to check a folder's current state before renaming it with Update a Folder.
Watch out
it expects a single known folder; to browse them all, use List Folders.
Infinity11

Get an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Get an Item loads the full record of one item, giving the next modules everything they need to fill a message, a sheet or another app.

When to use it
a trigger or a search gave you an item, and you want its latest data before you use it.
Watch out
each call counts as an operation, so skip it when the trigger already carries the data you need.
Infinity12

List Folders

SearchIn the docs only

List Folders returns the folders in your workspace, one bundle each, giving your scenario a map of the structure before it acts.

When to use it
you want to check whether a client folder exists, or send a folder overview to another tool.
Watch out
it can return zero, one or many folders, and each one runs the modules that follow, which multiplies operations.
Infinity13

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Make an API Call lets you reach any endpoint of the Infinity API through the connection you already created, covering whatever the other modules leave out.

When to use it
the action you need has no dedicated module in this list.
Watch out
you work with the raw API here, so keep Infinity's developer documentation open to write the request correctly.
Infinity14

Search Boards

SearchIn the docs only

Search Boards finds the boards that match what you look for, so your scenario can pick the right one instead of relying on a fixed value.

When to use it
before Create a Board, to avoid a duplicate, or before adding an item to a board chosen from incoming data.
Watch out
a search can return nothing, one or several boards; add a filter so the flow handles each case.
Infinity15

Search Comments

SearchIn the docs only

Search Comments looks up comments so you can reuse what your team wrote, for a digest, an export or a check before posting again.

When to use it
you want to know whether a scenario already commented on an item, so it does not repeat itself.
Watch out
several results mean several bundles, and every following module runs once per comment found.
Infinity16

Search Items

SearchIn the docs only

Search Items finds existing items so the scenario can update or comment on the right one rather than creating a new copy.

When to use it
an event from another app refers to work already tracked in Infinity, such as a returning client or an updated order.
Watch out
plan for an empty result with a filter; otherwise the next modules simply do nothing.
Infinity17

Search Users

SearchIn the docs only

Search Users locates people in your Infinity workspace, which lets a scenario mention or assign the right teammate from data it received.

When to use it
a form or a CRM names a teammate, and you need the matching Infinity user.
Watch out
if no one matches, the flow stops for that bundle, so decide in advance who gets the work by default.
Infinity18

Update a Comment

ActionIn the docs only

Update a Comment edits an existing comment, keeping a single status note current instead of stacking a new comment at every change.

When to use it
an automated progress note on an item should always show the latest state.
Watch out
store or search the comment first with Search Comments, because this module needs to know which comment to rewrite.
Infinity19

Update a Folder

ActionIn the docs only

Update a Folder changes an existing folder, so its name follows what happens in your other tools without a manual rename.

When to use it
a client changes its company name or a project changes phase, and the folder should match.
Watch out
identify the folder with List Folders or Get a Folder first; a wrong mapping renames the wrong one.
Infinity20

Update an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Update an Item modifies an existing item, so a change made in another app shows up in Infinity without anyone retyping it.

When to use it
an invoice is paid or a delivery ships, and the matching item needs its new state.
Watch out
with Watch Item Updated in the same account, each edit can wake that trigger again; filter out changes the scenario made itself.

FAQ

Infinity and Make: frequent questions

01Is the Infinity Make integration free?
Yes, on the Make side. Infinity is a standard app, available from the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and count usage in credits each month. You still need your own active Infinity account, which Infinity bills separately.
02What do you need to connect Infinity to Make?
An active Infinity account with developer features turned on in your profile. In Infinity, open the Developer section, then Apps, register a new application with the callback URI given by the Make doc, and copy the Client ID and Client secret. In Make, add an Infinity module, click Create a connection, name it if you want and paste those credentials. The connection is then reused by every Infinity module in your scenarios.
03Does the Infinity trigger in Make fire instantly?
No. The three Infinity triggers, Watch Item Created, Watch Item Updated and Watch New User, are scheduled. Make checks Infinity at the interval set on the first module of the scenario, every 15 minutes by default. On the Free plan that is also the shortest interval, while paid plans can go down to 1 minute. A change in Infinity therefore reaches your scenario at the next check, not the second it happens.
04What if the Infinity module you need is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It calls any endpoint of the Infinity API with the connection you already have, so you are not limited to the 23 listed modules. Keep Infinity's developer documentation at hand to build the request. Note also that the Make doc for this app warns it is AI-generated and may contain mistakes, so confirm anything important with Infinity directly before relying on it in production. Make an API Call runs as a regular module, so each request counts like any other operation.
05Should you pick Make or n8n for Infinity?
It depends on what you already run. In Make, Infinity comes with 23 ready modules, a guided connection and Make an API Call for the rest, which covers most day-to-day needs for items, boards, folders and comments. The same app often has a node in n8n too, so check what exists there for your case. The best choice is usually the platform your team already knows, with the modules your scenario actually needs.
