What you can automate

What can the Scalelist Make integration do for you?

The Scalelist Make integration links your Scalelist account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario, meaning an automation made of connected bricks called modules. Scalelist brings two of them: Find Email, which searches for an email address, and Make an API Call, which reaches the rest of the Scalelist API.

Enrich leads as they arrive. A form tool or a CRM hands a new prospect to Make, Find Email looks for the matching address, and the result is written back where your sales team works. Each prospect becomes a bundle, the single item Make passes from one module to the next.

Prepare an outreach list. Rows from a spreadsheet go through Find Email one by one, and the addresses found are stored next to each name, ready for the next campaign.

Reach what the menu does not show. Make an API Call uses the same connection to call any endpoint of the Scalelist API, so you are not limited to the single search module.

What Make does not do here: Scalelist has no trigger, so a scenario never starts on its own from Scalelist. It starts from another app or from a schedule. Make's help page for Scalelist is flagged as AI-generated and may contain mistakes, so check important details with Scalelist directly. If you are weighing tools, our n8n vs Make comparison lays out the criteria, the Make review covers the platform as a whole, and Make training helps you go further.

Connect

How do you connect your Scalelist account to Make?

  1. 01

Create an API key in Scalelist

Log in to Scalelist and open the dashboard. Click API in the main menu, then New Key, and copy the key shown on screen. You need an active Scalelist account for this.

  2. 02

Add a Scalelist module in Make

In your scenario, add a Scalelist module such as Find Email and click Create a connection. A connection is your Scalelist account linked to Make once, then reused by both modules.

  3. 03

    Paste the key and save

Give the connection a name in Connection name if you like, it is optional. Paste the API key you copied from Scalelist, follow the on-screen instructions and save.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Scalelist

GoalWhen a new lead appears in another app, Make runs Find Email in Scalelist and hands you the address it found.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to add the first module. Here it comes from the app that holds your leads, since Scalelist has no trigger.

  2. 02

    Add Find Email

Click the + on the right of that first module, search for Scalelist and pick Find Email. Choose your connection, or click Create a connection if it does not exist yet.

  3. 03

    Map the lead data

Fill the Find Email fields by mapping values from the first module, so each lead is searched with its own details. Make shows the data from the previous module to click into the fields.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make runs the scenario one time, and you can open each module to read the bundles it received and check what Find Email returned.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Set the schedule on the first module, every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. From now on, each new lead goes through Find Email without you.

Modules

What the Scalelist modules do

Scalelist gives you 2 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Scalelist1

Find Email

SearchIn the docs only

You get an email address back from Scalelist for the contact you pass in, so your lists fill up without manual digging. It is a search module: it can return zero, one or several results, each as its own bundle.

When to use it
right after a lead enters your stack, before you write it into your CRM or outreach sheet.
Watch out
plan for the empty case, since a search can find nothing and the next module then has no address to use.
Scalelist2

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

This one gives you access to any endpoint of the Scalelist API while reusing the connection you already created, so there is no second key to manage. It covers everything Find Email does not.

When to use it
when the Scalelist feature you need has no dedicated module in Make.
Watch out
you build the request yourself from the Scalelist API documentation, so test it with Run once before you switch the scenario on.

FAQ

Scalelist and Make: common questions

01Is the Scalelist Make integration free?
Yes on the Make side. Scalelist is a standard app, available from the Free plan, which allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute and remove the cap on active scenarios. Make counts each operation, one run of one module on one bundle, against your monthly credits. Your Scalelist subscription is a separate matter: check the Scalelist pricing page.
02What do you need to connect Scalelist to Make?
An active Scalelist account and an API key. In Scalelist, open the dashboard, click API in the main menu, then New Key, and copy the key displayed. In Make, add a Scalelist module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, then paste the key. The connection is saved once and reused by both modules, Find Email and Make an API Call, so you never enter the key twice. If the connection is refused, go back to Scalelist and copy the full key again.
03Can a Scalelist scenario start on its own in Make?
Not from Scalelist, which has no trigger module. Your scenario starts in one of two ways. Either another app opens it, for example the tool where your leads arrive, and Find Email comes right after. Or you open it with a schedule set on the first module, every 15 minutes by default, down to 1 minute on paid plans. In both cases, Scalelist acts as a step in the middle of the chain, not as the event that launches it.
04What if the Scalelist module you need is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It calls any endpoint of the Scalelist API with the connection you already have, so you can reach features beyond Find Email without leaving Make. You write the request from the Scalelist API documentation. Make's own help page for Scalelist is flagged as AI-generated and may contain mistakes, so run the scenario once with Run once and read the bundles before you switch it on. For anything unclear in the vendor documentation, contact Scalelist directly.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Scalelist?
It depends on the tool you already use. On Make, Scalelist offers 2 modules: Find Email for lookups and Make an API Call for the rest of the API, with a visual editor and a Free plan to start. Many apps also have an n8n node, so check whether one exists for Scalelist before choosing. The deciding factor is where the rest of your automations live: keeping the email lookup in the same tool as your CRM and form scenarios is simpler to maintain than splitting them across two platforms.
