What does the TikTok Campaign Management Make integration do?
The TikTok Campaign Management Make integration links your TikTok for Business ad account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each module being one brick such as a trigger, an action or a search. Make can then watch your campaigns, ad groups and ads, read their details and change their status or budget for you.
A review gate for new ad groups. Watch New Ad Groups picks up each ad group someone creates, and Update an Ad Group Status sets it to the status your team agreed on until a person checks the targeting. Nothing goes live by accident.
A campaign log your whole team can read. Watch New Campaigns plus Get a Campaign sends the details of every new campaign to a sheet or a chat channel, so the media buyer is not the only one who knows what is running.
A clean way to pause things in bulk. Search Ads returns every ad that matches your filter, and Update an Ad's Status can act on each result when a product goes out of stock or a promotion ends.
What the app does not cover: there is no instant trigger, so Make checks TikTok on the scenario's schedule rather than hearing from it the moment an ad changes. Several modules carry a legacy or obsolete tag in Make. When a listed module is missing, Make an API Call reaches the rest of the API with the same connection. If you also look at n8n, the n8n vs Make comparison lays out how the two tools differ, and the Make pricing page explains how operations are counted. Teams that want a hand can reach our Make agency.
How do you connect TikTok Campaign Management to Make?
- 01
Add a module and open the connection
In your Make account, add any TikTok Campaign Management module to your scenario and click Create a connection. A connection is your TikTok account linked to Make once; every module of the app reuses it afterwards.
- 02
Name the connection
The Connection name field is optional, but a clear name such as the ad account or the client it belongs to saves confusion later, especially when you manage more than one TikTok account in the same Make team.
- 03
Enter your credentials
Enter the credentials you copied from your TikTok Campaign Management account, or follow the instructions Make shows on screen. For your own app, copy the Client ID and Client secret from the Credentials section of the app under Manage apps.
Your first scenario: hold every new ad group for review
GoalWhen a new ad group appears in TikTok Campaign Management, Make sets its status so nobody spends budget before a check.
- 01
Create the scenario
Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + in the middle of the editor to place the first module.
- 02
Add Watch New Ad Groups
Search for TikTok Campaign Management, pick Watch New Ad Groups and click Create a connection, or choose the connection you already made.
- 03
Fill in the trigger
Fill the module fields. Once the connection exists, Make lists the objects it can read in your account, so you pick from a menu instead of typing IDs by hand.
- 04
Add Update an Ad Group Status
Click the + on the right of the trigger, add Update an Ad Group Status and map the ad group from the previous module. A bundle, one item passed between modules, carries it over.
- 05
Test with Run once
Create a test ad group in TikTok, then click Run once. Make runs the scenario a single time and shows the bundles each module received, which is where you check that the right ad group changed.
- 06
Schedule and switch it on
Set the schedule on the first module (every 15 minutes by default) and switch the scenario on. From then on, each check that finds a new ad group runs the status update.
What starts a TikTok Campaign Management scenario
4 modules start a scenario when something happens in TikTok Campaign Management. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by TikTok Campaign Management as soon as it happens.
Watch Ads
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Triggers when an ad is created or updated.”
You get a new bundle whenever an ad is created or edited, which makes this the widest net of the four triggers: fresh ads and changes to existing ones both come through.
Watch New Ad Groups
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Triggers when a new ad group is created.”
This trigger hands your scenario each ad group as soon as Make spots that it was created, and only new ones, so edits to older ad groups stay quiet.
Watch New Campaigns
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Triggers when a new campaign is created.”
Every newly created campaign becomes a bundle your scenario can act on, which is handy when campaigns are launched by several people and nobody keeps a shared list.
Watch TikTok Video Posts (legacy)
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Triggers when you upload a new TikTok video post.”
It starts the scenario when you upload a new TikTok video post, which links your organic content to the rest of your tools rather than your paid campaigns.
What each TikTok Campaign Management module does

Get a Campaign
ActionIn Make“Gets a specified campaign.”
Pulls the full record of one campaign you name, so the modules after it can use its details in a message, a row or a decision.
Get an Ad
ActionIn Make“Gets a specified ad.”
Returns everything Make can read about a single ad, which turns an ad ID from a trigger into details a person can actually check.
Get an Ad Group
ActionIn Make“Gets a specified ad group.”
Fetches the details of one ad group, the middle layer between a campaign and its ads where the targeting and budget are set.
Get an Embedded Video (legacy)
ActionIn Make“Returns the embed code and information about the video.”
Gives you the embed code of a TikTok video along with information about it, ready to drop into a web page or a newsletter tool.
Make an API Call
ActionIn Make“Performs an arbitrary authorized API call.”
Lets you call any endpoint of the TikTok API from your scenario with the connection you already set up, which covers what the listed modules leave out.
Update a Campaign
ActionIn Make“Updates an existing campaign.”
Edits an existing campaign so the change comes from your scenario instead of a person editing it by hand in TikTok.
Update a Campaign Status
ActionIn Make“Updates an existing campaign's status.”
Switches the status of a whole campaign, which stops or restarts everything below it with a single module.
Update an Ad Group Budget
ActionIn Make“Updates an existing ad group's budget.”
Changes the budget of one ad group from your scenario, so a budget decision taken elsewhere lands in TikTok without copy and paste.
Update an Ad Group Status
ActionIn Make“Updates an existing ad group's status.”
Turns a single ad group on or off without touching the rest of the campaign, which is the finest switch short of the ad itself.
Update an Ad's Status
ActionIn Make“Updates an existing ad's status.”
Changes the status of one ad, the smallest thing you can pause in TikTok, so a single weak creative can stop while its ad group carries on.
List TikTok Video Posts (legacy)
SearchIn Make“Retrieves a list of your public TikTok video posts.”
Brings back your public TikTok video posts as a list, one bundle per post, which is the starting point for any audit of your organic content.
Search Ad Groups
SearchIn Make“Searches for ad groups.”
Finds the ad groups that match what you are looking for and returns zero, one or several of them, each as its own bundle.
Search Ads
SearchIn Make“Searches for ads.”
Looks up the ads that fit your criteria and passes each match to the next module, which is how you act on many ads in one run.
Search Campaigns
SearchIn Make“Searches for campaigns.”
Returns the campaigns that match your search, zero, one or several, so the rest of the scenario can loop through the account's campaigns.
List Ad Reports (legacy)
SearchIn the docs onlyA search module for ad reports that still appears in Make with a legacy tag; the documentation gives no description of what it returns.
Upload a Sound (obsolete)
ActionIn the docs onlyAn action module Make still lists but marks obsolete, with no description in the documentation, so there is little to learn from it for a new build.
