Overview

What the 3C Connect Zapier integration actually does

3C Connect is a CRM built for teams that send technicians to customer sites. The Zapier integration turns four moments in that CRM into starting points for automations in your other apps: a visit starting, a visit ending, a customer being added, and a customer being edited. It only listens. It never writes back.

A live visit log. Appointment Started and Appointment Completed can feed a shared sheet or a team chat, so the office sees who is on site without calling anyone.

A follow-up that leaves on time. Hook Appointment Completed to your email or invoicing tool, and the thank-you message or the billing step starts the moment the technician closes the job.

One customer list everywhere. Customer Created and Customer Updated push new and edited records toward a mailing tool or an accounting app, so nobody retypes an address twice.

Now the part the app page does not spell out. Zapier offers no action and no search for 3C Connect. A Zap cannot create a customer, book an appointment or look up a record in 3C Connect. Every flow on this page goes one way: out of 3C Connect, into something else. If you need data flowing back in, that has to come from another route.

Vocabulary

Zapier in one minute

Eight words come up on every Zapier screen. Here is what each one means in plain terms.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that kicks off the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier sits and waits for it to happen.
Action
What the Zap does once it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One action that completes successfully is one task, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself the moment the event occurs.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so the following steps can reuse what it found.
Connection
Your account in an app, linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that touches that app.
Cost

What a 3C Connect Zap really costs

The trigger is free. Every 3C Connect event that starts a Zap costs zero tasks; you only pay for the actions that follow in other apps.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Free plan Zap size2 steps: one trigger, one action
  • Premium appNo, available on the free plan
  • 3C Connect triggersInstant, so the grid below does not apply

Each action that succeeds counts as one task, and a failed one counts for nothing. A Zap with three actions burns three times what a one-action Zap does. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month but stops at two steps, one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and you need a paid plan. 3C Connect is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. Instant triggers also skip the plan's checking interval entirely, so speed is the same on every tier.

Connect

Connect your 3C Connect account

  1. 01

    Open your apps list

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A small window opens with a search bar, listing every app you are able to link.

  2. 02

    Pick 3C Connect

Type the app name in that window, select 3C Connect in the results, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the 3C Connect sign-in side.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to your 3C Connect account in that tab and grant Zapier access. You need your own account, plus rights on any customer or appointment you do not own yourself.

First Zap

Your first 3C Connect Zap, step by step

GoalLog every finished site visit in a spreadsheet, but only for one type of job.

  1. 01

    Start a new Zap

Create a Zap and choose 3C Connect as the starting app, then Appointment Completed as the event. Pick the connection you set up earlier.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three latest completed visits from your account, and you pick one as sample data for the next steps.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on a text field, or the filter will never pass.

  4. 04

    Add the action

Pick the app that receives the visit and map the fields from the sample. This filter makes the Zap multi-step, so this version needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the output looks right, click Publish. The Zap is now live for the next visits, not the old ones.

Triggers

The four 3C Connect triggers

4 events start a Zap when something happens in 3C Connect, and 4 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Appointment Completed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when the technician has completed a site appointment.”

Your Zap starts when a technician marks a site visit as done in 3C Connect. That closing moment is the cleanest signal you get from the field, because the work is finished and the details are filled in.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
send the customer a follow-up email, open an invoice draft, or log the visit in a reporting sheet as soon as the job wraps up.
Watch out
every finished visit is a separate run, and each action after it counts as a task, so a busy day of jobs adds up quickly on the free plan.
2

Appointment Started

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when the technician has arrived to a site appointment.”

This one fires when the technician checks in on arrival at the customer's site. It is the earliest field event Zapier can see, well before any work gets recorded.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
ping the dispatcher in a chat channel, or text the customer that the technician is at the door, while the visit is still fresh.
Watch out
the visit has only just begun, so anything decided at the end of the job will not exist yet. Keep the steps after it about presence, not outcome.
3

Customer Created

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer is created.”

Each new customer record added to 3C Connect starts the Zap once. Think of it as the doorway for spreading a fresh contact to the rest of your tools without copying it by hand.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
add the contact to a newsletter list, create the matching client in your accounting app, or post a welcome note for the sales team.
Watch out
records that already existed before you published the Zap are not picked up. Moving your current customer base is a separate import job.
4

Customer Updated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer is updated.”

Edit a customer in 3C Connect (a new phone number, a changed address) and this trigger hands the updated record to Zapier. Use it to stop other tools from drifting out of date.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
keep the contact in your mailing tool or billing app aligned with what the office just corrected in the CRM.
Watch out
if another automation writes those changes back into 3C Connect, the update fires again, and the loop can drain your task count fast.
When it breaks

When a 3C Connect Zap breaks

Zapier lists no help article and no rate limit specific to 3C Connect. What breaks here comes from how Zapier works in general.

Four situations account for most surprises on a Zap that listens to a CRM. None of them shows up as an error on day one, which is why they are worth knowing before you publish. If one hits you anyway, our Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the fixes.

  • Old visits never come through

A Zap only reacts to events after it is switched on. Appointments closed and customers created before that stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.
  • The Zap keeps firing itself

If a later step writes back into a customer record that Customer Updated watches, each write sets the Zap off again and eats through your task count.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Importing many customers at once can send Zapier a sudden flood of events. Zapier's flood protection may hold that batch back instead of running it.
  • The free plan blocks your filter

The free plan stops at one trigger and one action. A filter, a search or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, and publishing it then needs a paid plan.

FAQ

3C Connect Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the 3C Connect Zapier integration free?
Yes, it works on the free Zapier plan, because 3C Connect is not a premium app. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is the Zap size: on the free plan a Zap holds one trigger and one action, nothing more. As soon as you add a filter, a second action or a search, the Zap becomes multi-step and you need a paid plan to keep it running. For a simple flow, such as logging every finished visit in one other tool, the free plan is enough.
02How many tasks does a 3C Connect Zap use?
The 3C Connect trigger itself uses none. Zapier only counts a task when an action completes successfully, and all actions on these Zaps happen in other apps. One finished visit that feeds one action costs one task. The same visit feeding three actions costs three. An action that fails is not counted. So the real question is how many visits and customer edits you expect each month, multiplied by the number of actions in the Zap, compared with the 100 tasks of the free plan.
03Does the 3C Connect integration work in real time?
Yes. All four 3C Connect triggers are instant: 3C Connect tells Zapier the moment a visit starts or ends, or a customer is added or edited, and the Zap runs straight away. The plan's checking interval does not apply here, which matters most on the free plan, where polling triggers in other apps wait up to 15 minutes between checks. In the Zap editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt, so you can confirm it at a glance.
04What does it take to connect 3C Connect to Zapier?
An account on 3C Connect and a Zapier account. You add the connection from the Apps page in Zapier, sign in to 3C Connect in the tab that opens, and allow Zapier to access the account. If the Zap should react to customers or appointments that someone else owns, your 3C Connect account also needs read access to those. The connection is set up once and then reused by every Zap that starts from 3C Connect.
05Can Zapier create customers or appointments in 3C Connect?
No. Zapier offers no action and no search for 3C Connect, only the four triggers. A Zap can react when something happens in 3C Connect and pass that data to another app, but it cannot write a customer, book a visit or look up a record inside 3C Connect. If your plan relies on sending data back into the CRM, that part has to be handled outside this integration, and it is worth checking before you design the whole flow around Zapier.
06What if the 3C Connect operation you need does not exist on Zapier?
Then the integration cannot do it, because Zapier only shows what 3C Connect has published: four triggers about appointments and customers. Anything else, such as reacting to a quote or updating a record, is simply not available in the editor. The usual way forward is to check whether the event you need can be read from another app in your setup, or to look at a different automation platform that reaches 3C Connect another way. A short scoping session with a specialist helps decide which route makes sense.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for 3C Connect?
It depends on your criteria, not on a ranking. Zapier gives you four instant triggers for 3C Connect with a quick setup and a free plan that covers simple two-step flows. If you need to write back into 3C Connect, Zapier cannot, so check what other platforms expose for this app before choosing. Budget at volume, hosting preferences and how much you want to configure yourself are the other questions that usually decide between the three.
