Agility Writer Zapier integrationAutomate Agility Writer with Zapier.
The Agility Writer Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 5 actions and 0 searches. Agility Writer never starts a Zap on its own: another app hands it a topic or a URL, and it drafts, rewrites or returns an SEO article.

What the Agility Writer Zapier integration actually does
It lets Zapier order articles from Agility Writer without you opening the app. Zapier is the tool that links apps together; the automation you build there is a Zap, one starting event followed by the steps it runs every time. Here, Agility Writer is always one of those steps, never the start.
Three outcomes cover most of what people set up. A draft per keyword. A content manager drops a keyword into a planning sheet, and Create Article (Advanced Mode - Quick Setup) turns it into an article in the region and language picked on the row. A blog post from a talk. A podcast host pastes the link of a public YouTube episode, and Rewrite Article/YouTube Video to Article (Quick Setup) writes it up as an article. Social posts ready for the social team. Once a piece exists, Get Article pulls back its details, shoutout posts included, so a later step can file them.
Now the limits. Agility Writer has no trigger on Zapier: nothing that happens inside the app, a finished article for instance, can start a Zap. It has no search either, so a Zap cannot look up an article by title. To act on an article, a step earlier in the same Zap has to carry its Article ID.
If you are weighing other tools for the same job, the Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier comparisons lay out the differences criterion by criterion.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here is each one in plain English.
- Zap
- Your automation on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every single time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that kicks a Zap off. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for that event to happen.
- Action
- A step that does the work once the Zap has started: it writes, sends or moves something for you in an app.
- Task
- What Zapier bills: one action that your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is simply a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer; an instant trigger is pushed by the app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap with more than one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
- Connection
- Your Agility Writer account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that talks to the app.
What it really costs
Agility Writer is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, not in articles.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Zap size on FreeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- Premium appNo, Agility Writer works on Free
- Failed actionNot counted against the plan
The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking for new data. Each Agility Writer action that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails is not counted. A Zap that creates an article and then fetches it burns two. The catch: the free plan stops at two steps, one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap needs a paid plan.
Checking a status between two steps sounds free, but it is an action like any other, so it bills a task each time it succeeds.
Connect your Agility Writer account
- 01
Open the connections page
In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type Agility Writer and pick it from the list. You need an existing Agility Writer account before going further.
- 02
Sign in to Agility Writer
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Agility Writer: sign in with the account whose articles the Zap should create and read. Anything you do not own yourself needs read or write access granted first.
- 03
Grant access and reuse it
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection now shows up in every Agility Writer step you add, in this Zap and the next ones, so you only do this once per account.
Your first Zap: one sheet row, one filtered draft
GoalEach new row of a content planning sheet marked as approved becomes an Agility Writer article, and rows still under discussion are left alone.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the start
Click to create a Zap, then choose the sheet app and the new row event as the trigger. Agility Writer has no trigger of its own, so the start always comes from another tool.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of the connected sheet. Pick one that has a keyword in it, so the mapping that follows is done on real data.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter. Pick the status column, a text rule, and the value approved. A number rule on a text column is the usual reason a filter never lets anything through.
- 04
Add the Agility Writer action
Choose Create Article (Advanced Mode - Quick Setup), select your connection, map the keyword column, then fill Region, Output Language, Article Length and AI Model.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and read what comes back. If it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Remember: this Zap has a filter, so it needs a paid plan.
The 5 Agility Writer actions
Agility Writer gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When it breaks
Zapier does not attach any help article to Agility Writer, so the known failure points are the general ones of Zapier, plus the field rules above.
Four situations explain most surprises. For anything stranger, the Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the diagnosis.
The backlog is never processed
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. The keywords already sitting in your sheet will not become articles; moving them is a separate job.A loop that eats your tasks
If a later step writes back into the very sheet the trigger watches, each write can start the Zap again, and every Agility Writer step bills a task.A bulk import gets held back
Paste a big batch of rows at once, after a migration for example, and Zapier's flood protection can hold the trigger back instead of firing for each one.The same row will not run twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen. Editing an old row does not order a second article; add a new row instead.
