Aha! Zapier integrationAutomate Aha! with Zapier.
The Aha! Zapier integration gives you 2 triggers, 2 actions and 0 searches. Both triggers are instant, so a Zap reacts the moment something happens in Aha!. The actions drop new ideas and features into your roadmap. Here is what each does and costs.

What the Aha! Zapier integration is for
It links Aha!, the product roadmap tool, to the other apps your team uses, without code. Zapier can listen to Aha! and pass what happens there to another tool, or take what arrives elsewhere and turn it into an idea or a feature inside Aha!. Four operations, two in each direction.
Three results you can build. A team channel that hears about a feature as soon as a product manager sends it out of Aha!, through New Feature. A feedback form whose answers land as ideas in the right product, through Create Idea, so nobody retypes customer requests. And a change log fed by New Activity, for the people who want to follow the roadmap without opening it.
Both triggers are instant, which is rarer than it sounds: most apps on Zapier are checked on a timer. Here the free plan reacts as fast as the most expensive one.
Now the limits. There is no search, so a Zap cannot look up an existing idea or feature before acting, and nothing stops it from creating a duplicate. There is no update or delete step either: Zapier only adds to Aha!, it never edits what is there. And Create Feature asks for a release, so it only fits teams that plan in releases.
To see the same app on another platform, the Aha! Make integration page covers it on Make, and Make vs Zapier puts the two tools side by side.
Zapier words, in one minute
Seven terms come back across this page. Here they are in plain words, once.
- Zap
- One automation on Zapier. It opens with a single starting event and follows with the steps that should run each time it occurs.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a new feature in Aha!. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes or sends something for you, like a new idea in Aha!.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One action completed successfully counts as one task, and your plan gives you a set number of them.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment it happens; both Aha! triggers are instant.
- Filter
- A checkpoint inside the Zap. If the data does not match your rule, say a given product, everything after it is skipped.
- Connection
- Your Aha! login, handed to Zapier a single time. Every Aha! trigger and action in every Zap then reuses it.
What an Aha! Zap really costs
Aha! is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. You pay in tasks, and only actions spend them.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
- Aha! triggersBoth instant, no interval
When New Feature or New Activity fires, that costs nothing. Each idea or feature the Zap creates successfully counts one task, and a failed step is not billed. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter, for example to keep only one product's activity, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below only matters for polling triggers in other apps; the Aha! triggers skip it.
Connect your Aha! account in 3 steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Type Aha! in the dialog and pick it from the list. You need an Aha! account before you start.
- 02
Sign in to Aha!
Click Add connection. A tab opens on Aha!: sign in with the account that can see the products you want to automate, since Zapier will only reach what that account reaches.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is saved once and every Aha! step reuses it. For products you do not own, you also need read or write access, or they will not show up in the step.
Your first Zap: a feature sent from Aha! lands with the developers
GoalEach feature a product manager sends from Aha! becomes a ticket for engineering, and the team channel hears about it.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, choose Aha! as the trigger app and New Feature as the event. Pick the connection you set up in the previous block.
- 02
Send a feature and test
In Aha!, send one real feature to Zapier, then run the test. Zapier brings back the most recent items, so you map fields on a real feature, not on a guess.
- 03
Add the ticket step
Add an action in your engineering tracker and map the feature's name and description into the ticket. On the free plan, stop here: one trigger, one action.
- 04
Add the team message
A second action posts the news in the team channel. That makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan, and each run costs two tasks.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each step once and check the ticket and the message. Then click Publish. The Zap fires the moment a feature is sent, whatever your plan.
The 2 Aha! triggers
2 events start a Zap when something happens in Aha!, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Activity
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when there is new activity.”
Starts your Zap whenever something new happens in your Aha! account, so the rest of the team gets the news without logging into the roadmap. It is the broad listener of the pair: it does not wait for anyone to push a button.
New Feature
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a feature is sent to Zapier by a user in Aha!”
Fires when someone in Aha! deliberately sends a feature to Zapier. Nothing leaves on its own: a person chooses which feature goes out, which keeps the Zap quiet and intentional.
The 2 Aha! actions
Aha! gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Feature
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new feature for a release.”
Creates a feature inside a given release of a product, with its name, kind and description, ready to be planned.
Create Idea
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new idea.”
Adds a new idea to the product you pick, with a name and a description, so requests from outside Aha! land where product decisions are made.
When an Aha! Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Aha!, so the known traps are the general ones. They still catch people out.
Since both triggers are instant, delays are rarely the issue; duplicates and loops are. When a run fails, read what the trigger sent before blaming Aha!. The Zapier troubleshooting page shows how to read a failed run step by step.
The existing roadmap is not picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Features and activity already in Aha! are ignored, and moving that backlog is a separate job.A loop between activity and ideas
A Zap on New Activity that runs Create Idea in the same account produces new activity, which starts the Zap again, and the task count drains fast.A bulk import gets held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration into Aha!, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of running every item.Duplicate ideas from the same request
With no search step on Aha!, the Zap cannot check whether an idea already exists. The same request sent twice from your form becomes two ideas.
