Lara Translate Zapier integrationAutomate Lara Translate with Zapier.
The Lara Translate Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 4 actions and 0 searches. Lara never starts a Zap: another app does, and Lara translates on the way, either a piece of text or a whole document handled in the background and fetched once ready.
Beta app Zapier still marks this integration as beta.

What the Lara Translate Zapier integration actually does
Lara Translate is an AI translator that takes context into account and covers more than 200 languages. On Zapier it is a set of steps you drop into a Zap (an automation on Zapier: one event in some app that starts it, then one or more steps that follow), never the event that starts one.
Three results come up most. First, text translated where it arrives: Translate Text turns a support message, a form answer or a product description into the target language, and the next step writes the result wherever you need it. Second, whole documents translated without opening Lara: Upload Document for Translation sends a file from a public link and starts the job. Third, the finished file back in your tools: Get Document Status tells you when the job is done, and Download Translated Document hands the translated file to the next step, a drive or an email for instance.
What Zapier does not do here matters as much. Lara has no trigger, so nothing in Lara can start a Zap; and no search either. The integration is marked beta on Zapier. And a useful text Zap needs three steps, a trigger, the translation and somewhere to put it, which already means a paid plan. If you would rather not design these chains yourself, a Zapier agency is the other route.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on every screen of the editor. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Lara Translate has none, so the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or translates something on your behalf. All four Lara operations are actions.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items. How fast your Lara Zap starts depends on it.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Lara Translate Zap really costs
Zapier bills completed actions, and every Lara operation is an action. That shapes the bill more than with most apps.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Free plan Zap size1 trigger + 1 action
- Premium appNo
- Lara triggers0
The trigger from the other app never costs a task. Each Lara step that succeeds counts once, and so does the step that stores the result: a text Zap with a translation and a write-back uses two tasks per item, a document Zap with upload, status check and download uses three before you even store the file. A failed action is not counted. Lara Translate is not a premium app, so the free plan accepts it: 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at one trigger and one action.
Connect Lara Translate to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your apps page
In Zapier, open Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Lara Translate account, plus access to the files you plan to send it from your other tools.
- 02
Pick Lara Translate
Search for Lara Translate in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the Lara side; keep it open until you have finished.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to Lara Translate in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is saved once, and every Lara step of every Zap reuses it.
Your first Zap: translate each new row of a sheet
GoalEach time a row is added to a spreadsheet, translate its text with Lara Translate and write the result back into the same row.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Create a Zap, choose your spreadsheet app as the one that starts it, with the event for a new row, then pick the file and the sheet to watch.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of that sheet, so pick a real one whose text you can check by eye later.
- 03
Add the translation
Add a Lara Translate step with Translate Text, map the source column into Text, and choose the Target Language, both of which are required.
- 04
Write the result back
Add a third step that updates the same row, and map the translation returned by Lara into an empty column. This makes the Zap multi-step.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read the translated cell. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on, on a paid plan.
Lara Translate actions
Lara Translate gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Get Document Status
ActionIn Zapier“Checks the translation status of a document.”
Asks Lara where a document translation stands, so the Zap knows whether the file is ready to fetch.
Download Translated Document
ActionIn Zapier“Downloads a translated document and returns it as a file.”
Retrieves the finished translation and passes it on as a file, ready for the next step to store or send.
Translate Text
ActionIn Zapier“Translates a text value and returns the translation.”
Turns a piece of text into the language you choose and returns the translation for the following steps.
Upload Document for Translation
ActionIn Zapier“Uploads a document and starts translating it in the background.”
Sends a file to Lara and starts translating it in the background, returning a Document ID the later steps reuse.
When a Lara Translate Zap breaks
Zapier lists no help article and no rate limit specific to Lara Translate. The errors that do happen come from the required fields of the document steps and from general Zapier behavior.
Four situations explain most failures. Check them before blaming the connection; if a Zap still fails, move on to Zapier troubleshooting.
A Word file is refused
A DOCX that still holds tracked changes makes Lara return an error unless Accept Revisions is switched on in Upload Document for Translation. The file cannot be fetched
The File field expects a public URL. A link that only works once logged in leaves Lara with nothing to translate, and the upload step fails.Download finds nothing
Get Document Status and Download Translated Document need the Document ID from the upload step. Without it, or before the job ends, they have nothing to return.Old items are never translated
A Zap only reacts to what its trigger sees after you switch it on. Files or rows that already existed stay untranslated; that backlog is a separate job.
