API Labz Zapier integrationAutomate API Labz with Zapier.

The API Labz Zapier integration gives you 5 actions and 0 triggers, with no search step. Each action hands a piece of text or a file to an AI tool and returns the result: social posts, a report, a diagram, a sorted expense, data read from an ID card.

Overview

What the API Labz Zapier integration is for

API Labz is a set of ready-made AI tools you call from your automations. In Zapier it only works in one direction: another app starts the Zap, and API Labz does the thinking in the middle. You send it a description, a list of figures or a file, and it sends back something you can use in the next step.

Three results people build first. Social copy on autopilot: each new product description becomes posts and hashtags for several platforms, through Social Media Marketing ✨. A readable report: raw numbers from a form or a sheet come back as a written analysis, through Business Analyst ✨. A diagram from a paragraph: a process written in plain text turns into a visual flow, through Flow Diagram Generator.

What Zapier does not do here. API Labz has no trigger, so nothing that happens inside API Labz can start a Zap; the first step always belongs to another app. There is no search step either, and no way to fetch an earlier result: every call starts from what you send it. And every action needs its input handed over by an earlier step, so the app that starts the Zap decides what API Labz can work on.

If you are comparing tools, the same app has an API Labz Make integration, and the Make vs Zapier comparison is there for the bigger choice of tool.

Vocabulary

The Zapier words you need, in one minute

Seven words cover this whole page. Each one is explained once, here.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. API Labz has none, so here it always comes from another app, like a form or a catalog.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or produces something for you. All five API Labz operations are actions.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully; the count on your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer, every few minutes. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Connection
Your API Labz account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step and every Zap that calls API Labz.
Cost

What an API Labz Zap really costs on Zapier

API Labz is not a premium app, so it runs from the free plan. Since it has no trigger, the cost question is only about its actions.

  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • One API Labz actionOne task when it succeeds
  • Triggers on API LabzNone, the Zap starts elsewhere

Each API Labz action that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails is not counted. The trigger from the other app costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps and two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. That fits a single API Labz call. Sending the result somewhere afterwards adds a second action, which makes a multi-step Zap and needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect API Labz to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. You need an API Labz account first, and access to anything you do not own yourself but want the Zap to use.

  2. 02

    Pick API Labz

Type API Labz in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the API Labz side, where you finish the setup with your usual login.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to API Labz in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. Every API Labz step in every Zap then reuses this connection, so you do this only once.

First Zap

Your first Zap: social posts from each new product

GoalEach time a product is added to your catalog, API Labz writes social media drafts from its description, and your team gets them in its chat to review before posting.

  1. 01

    Build the trigger

In Build, pick the app where products are added and its new-product event. API Labz has no trigger of its own, so the Zap always starts from that other tool.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent items of that account. Pick a product with a real description, since that text is what API Labz will work from.

  3. 03

    Add the API Labz action

Choose API Labz and Social Media Marketing ✨, then map the product description into the required About Product field. Test the step and read what came back.

  4. 04

Send the drafts to the team

Add the chat step and map the text API Labz returned in the test. This third step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Products added before that moment are not processed; only new ones start the Zap from now on.

Actions

API Labz actions

API Labz gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Business Analyst ✨

Action

In Zapier“AI-Powered Insights for any data: Your Virtual Project Analyst”

Takes raw data and your instructions, then writes an analysis of it, like a virtual project analyst would. It is the action for turning figures into sentences someone will actually read.

When to use it
a project manager sends the numbers collected in a sheet and gets a written summary for the steering meeting.
Watch out
both Report Generation Instructions and Pass Raw Data are required; say what kind of report you expect.
2

Expense Tracker

Action

In Zapier“Simplify your finances with intelligent expense categorisation and analysis”

Sorts an expense into a category and analyzes it, so your spending is classified without someone doing it line by line. You send the expense, it returns its categorized version.

When to use it
a freelancer logs each purchase in a form and wants it filed under the right category straight away.
Watch out
Record Expense is required, so the starting app must hold the expense details in one field you can map.
3

Flow Diagram Generator

Action

In Zapier“Convert text descriptions into interactive diagrams using AI-powered diagram generation”

Reads a process described in words and draws it as an interactive diagram. Handy when the steps of a procedure live in a document nobody looks at.

When to use it
an operations lead submits a new procedure through a form and wants a visual version to share with the team.
Watch out
the Instructions field is the only input and it is required; a clear, ordered description gives a cleaner diagram.
4

ID Parser

Action

In Zapier“Extract JSON data from Identity Cards from all over the world using this API Labz.”

Reads an identity card image and extracts the data printed on it, for cards from many countries. It saves retyping names and numbers from a scanned document.

When to use it
an onboarding team receives ID scans and wants the details pulled out for the customer file.
Watch out
it expects the image as a Base64 string plus its file format, both required, not a simple file link. These are personal documents, so check who can see the results.
5

Social Media Marketing ✨

Action

In Zapier“Turn product descriptions into platform-perfect social posts, trending hashtags, and viral-ready content - all with a single click”

Turns a short product description into posts tailored to several social platforms, with hashtags to go with them. You give it what the product is, it gives back copy you can review and post.

When to use it
a store owner adds a new item and wants ready-to-edit posts without starting from a blank page.
Watch out
About Product is required, and a vague description gives vague posts, so map the fullest text you have.
When it breaks

When an API Labz Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to API Labz, so the cases below are the general limits of any Zap, applied to this app.

None of them is specific to AI. They come from how Zapier starts and runs a Zap, and they show up as a missing result, a loop or a task count that drops too fast. The Zapier troubleshooting guide is the next stop when the cause is not on this list.

  • Older items are never processed

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Products, forms or expenses added before stay untouched; running them through API Labz is a separate job.
  • The result feeds the trigger again

If you write the API Labz output back into the very sheet or tool the trigger watches, each write starts the Zap again and burns tasks fast. Store results elsewhere.
  • A bulk import gets held back

If the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back instead of calling API Labz for each item.
  • Same item twice? Not from polling

On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so one item does not start the Zap twice. A duplicate usually means two Zaps watch the same source.

FAQ

API Labz Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the API Labz Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, yes: API Labz is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps, one trigger and one action. A Zap that starts in another app and calls one API Labz action fits. As soon as you send the result somewhere else, you add a step, the Zap becomes multi-step, and you need a paid plan to keep it running.
02How many Zapier tasks does an API Labz Zap use?
One task for each API Labz action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A Zap that asks for social posts and then sends them to your chat uses two tasks per run: one for the API Labz call, one for the message. An action that fails is not counted. Watching the starting app for new items is free, however often Zapier checks, so the bill depends only on how many runs actually complete.
03Can API Labz start a Zap in real time?
No, because API Labz has no trigger at all: it can only act inside a Zap that another app starts. How fast your Zap reacts depends on that other app's trigger. If it is instant, the app tells Zapier right away, whatever your plan. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise.
04What does it take to connect API Labz to Zapier?
An API Labz account, and access to anything you do not own but want the Zap to use. You add the connection from the Apps page of Zapier with + Add connection, sign in to API Labz in the tab that opens, and grant access. After that, one connection serves every Zap that calls API Labz, and each action only asks for its own required input, such as instructions or a product description.
05Why does the ID Parser action not accept a file link?
Because its required input is the image itself written out as encoded text (the format the field calls a Base sixty-four string), along with the image format. A link to a file stored somewhere is not the same thing, so the action has nothing to read. The step that comes before ID Parser must supply that encoded text. Since identity cards are personal data, also think about where the extracted details end up and who can open them afterwards.
06What if the API Labz operation you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot run it for this app today. The integration offers five actions, Business Analyst ✨, Expense Tracker, Flow Diagram Generator, ID Parser and Social Media Marketing ✨, with no trigger and no search. For anything else, look at what API Labz offers on its own side, or at another automation tool. Checking the list before you build saves you a Zap that can never be finished, and the time spent mapping fields for nothing.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for API Labz?
It depends on your criteria rather than on a winner. Zapier is the shortest path if one of the five actions covers your need and you want a hosted tool with a free plan to start. Make is worth a look if your scenario chains many steps around the AI call. n8n suits teams that want to host the automation themselves and accept more setup. Compare which API Labz operations each one exposes before you commit.
