Overview

What the E-goi Zapier integration actually does for you

Zapier sits between E-goi and the other apps you use. It watches E-goi for new subscribers or unsubscribes, and it can write back into E-goi: add or update a contact, tag or untag them, start an autobot, remove them from a list, or send a transactional SMS. No code, and the E-goi account you already have.

Three results people usually build. A clean list: every lead captured in a form or a CRM lands in the right E-goi list through Add/Update Subscriber, which updates the contact when that email is already there instead of adding a second one. A segment that follows behavior: Add Tag and Remove Tag move a contact in or out of a segment when something happens elsewhere, say a trial ends in your billing tool. A message that leaves on cue: Send SMS Transactional texts a customer when an order ships, and Start Autobot kicks off the E-goi automation you already designed.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. None of the nine operations builds or edits an autobot or reads campaign statistics, and no Zap picks up subscribers who joined before it was switched on. Both E-goi triggers are checked on a timer, so nothing on this page reacts the second a contact signs up.

If you are still weighing tools, the Make vs Zapier comparison sets the criteria side by side, and our Zapier review covers the platform as a whole.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in an app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. Both E-goi triggers poll.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something already in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found.
Cost

What it really costs to run

E-goi is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only some steps produce them.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Trigger checksNever billed
  • E-goi on ZapierNot premium, free plan works

The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking E-goi for new subscribers, however often it looks. What counts is every action that succeeds: a Zap that adds a tag and then sends an SMS uses two tasks per subscriber. An action that fails is not billed. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and builds two-step Zaps only, one trigger and one action. Add a filter, a search or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect your E-goi account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your E-goi account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap step that talks to E-goi.

  2. 02

    Pick E-goi

Type E-goi in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the E-goi side, where the actual login happens.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to E-goi in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. You need your own E-goi account, plus access to any list you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: tag every new subscriber who joins a list

GoalWhen someone joins your E-goi newsletter list, add a tag so the right automation and segment pick them up.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Click to create a Zap and choose E-goi as the trigger app. Pick New Subscriber as the event and select the connection you made above.

  2. 02

    Choose the list to watch

The trigger needs one List. Pick the newsletter list, then test: Zapier brings back the three most recent subscribers, so you map fields on a real contact.

  3. 03

    Add the tag action

Add an action step, choose E-goi again and pick Add Tag. Select the same List, the tag to attach, and map the subscriber email coming from the trigger.

  4. 04

    Test, then publish

Run the action test once and check the tag in E-goi. If it is there, click Publish. From now on each new subscriber costs one task, the tag.

Triggers

E-goi triggers on Zapier

2 events start a Zap when something happens in E-goi. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Subscriber

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new subscriber is added to a list.”

Starts your Zap when a new subscriber is added to the E-goi list you choose. You get their details to reuse in later steps, such as copying them into a CRM or a spreadsheet.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
a SaaS team wants every newsletter signup pushed to its sales CRM as a lead record.
Watch out
the trigger asks for one List, so a second list needs a second Zap.
2

New Unsubscriber

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when any current subscriber unsubscribes from a list.”

Fires when someone currently subscribed to a chosen E-goi list opts out. This is the signal that keeps your other tools honest: a contact who left your emails should not keep receiving messages from somewhere else.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
an online store flags the contact as opted out in its helpdesk or ad audience list as soon as they leave.
Watch out
a List is required, so global unsubscribes across several lists need one Zap per list.
Actions

E-goi actions on Zapier

E-goi gives you 6 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add/Update Subscriber

Action

In Zapier“Adds a new user to a list or updates existing user by E-mail.”

Puts a contact into an E-goi list, or refreshes the existing record when that email is already there. One action covers both cases, so you avoid duplicates.

When to use it
a webinar registration in another tool should land in your E-goi list with the latest name and phone.
Watch out
the match is made on the email address, and the List field is required.
2

Add Tag

Action

In Zapier“Attaches a tag of your choosing to an existing user.”

Attaches a tag of your choosing to someone who already exists in a list. Tags let you build segments in E-goi, so this action moves a person into one from the outside.

When to use it
mark buyers with a customer tag once your payment tool records a sale.
Watch out
List, Tag and Subscriber Email are all required, and the action works on an existing subscriber.
3

Remove Tag

Action

In Zapier“Removes a tag from an existing user.”

Takes a tag off an existing contact, the mirror of the previous action. Use it to pull people out of a segment once a condition no longer holds.

When to use it
drop the trial tag the moment a user upgrades, so they stop getting trial reminders.
Watch out
the Subscriber Email field takes several addresses separated by commas, so check what you map into it.
4

Send SMS Transactional

Action

In Zapier“Sends an SMS to a cellphone”

Texts a single cellphone through your E-goi account, with the message you write or map from earlier steps. You also choose the sender and the message encoding.

When to use it
confirm an appointment or a shipment by SMS right after your booking or order tool records it.
Watch out
the number must follow the format the field asks for, aaaXXXXXXXXX or aaa-XXXXXXXXX, and the sender has to be configured in E-goi beforehand.
5

Start Autobot

Action

In Zapier“Starts an autobot on an action of your choosing.”

Launches one of your E-goi autobots, the automations you design inside E-goi, for the contacts you pass in. Zapier only starts it; the sequence itself runs in E-goi.

When to use it
begin an onboarding series when a deal is marked won in your CRM.
Watch out
you pick the autobot and the action inside it, so build the autobot in E-goi before the Zap.
6

Remove Subscriber

Action

In Zapier“Removes an existing user from a list.”

Takes a contact out of a given list. You pick the List and give the subscriber's email, and the person leaves that list.

When to use it
someone asks your support team to stop all emails, and the ticket tool should clear them from the list.
Watch out
if a New Unsubscriber Zap watches the same list, think about loops before publishing.
Searches

The E-goi search on Zapier

1 search step looks for data that already exists in E-goi, so a later step can use it.

A search step looks up an existing subscriber so the next steps can reuse their data. It sits at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not the one you hoped for.

1

Search a Subscriber or Create

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Searches for the subscriber in your list and resturns his data. If not found you can choose to add him.”

Looks a person up in one E-goi list and hands their record to the following steps. The editor also shows Search or Create a Subscriber: same step, with the create box ticked, not a separate operation.

When to use it
before tagging, check that a lead from your chat tool is already on the list, and add them if not.
Watch out
the search runs inside a single List you must choose.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nobody stops the Zap there and skips the steps that relied on it. Switch it on and the Zap carries on empty-handed.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
Ticking it turns the search into a find-or-create: the setting above disappears and Zapier asks for the fields needed to add the missing subscriber.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several contacts match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or pass all of them on.
When it breaks

When an E-goi Zap breaks

Zapier lists no specific error for E-goi. The failures you will meet come from how Zapier itself works.

Four situations explain most surprises. Check them before you suspect E-goi, and see our Zapier troubleshooting guide when a run still fails.

  • Old subscribers never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Contacts already in the list are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that keeps firing itself

Adding subscribers to the very list that New Subscriber watches restarts the Zap again and again, and burns through your tasks fast.
  • A big import gets held back

Import thousands of contacts at once and the trigger may return a huge batch in one go, which Zapier's flood protection can hold back.
  • No duplicate runs on one contact

Zapier remembers which subscribers it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same contact does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

E-goi Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the E-goi Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as you stay within the free plan. E-goi is not a premium app on Zapier, so it is available from the free tier, which gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps: one trigger and one action. As soon as you add a filter, a search or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and requires a paid plan. You also need your own E-goi account to connect.
02How many tasks does an E-goi Zap use?
One per successful action, per run. The trigger and the checks Zapier makes on E-goi cost nothing. So a Zap that adds a tag to each new subscriber uses one task per subscriber, while a Zap that tags them and then sends an SMS uses two. An action that fails is not counted. Keep this in mind on busy lists, because the free plan stops at 100 tasks a month.
03Do E-goi triggers work in real time?
No. Both E-goi triggers, New Subscriber and New Unsubscriber, are polling triggers: Zapier asks E-goi for new items at a fixed interval. That interval depends on your plan, every 15 minutes on Free, 2 minutes on Professional and 1 minute on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans you can also run a check by hand from the editor when you are testing. Neither of them shows the lightning bolt that marks instant triggers.
04What does it take to connect E-goi to Zapier?
Two things: an E-goi account you can sign in to, and access to the lists the Zap will read or write. The connection is made once from the Apps page with the Add connection button, then reused by every step. Before building, create the lists in E-goi and, if you plan to text customers, configure an SMS sender there, because the SMS action asks you to select a sender previously configured in E-goi.
05Why do the E-goi tag actions ask for so much?
Because Add Tag and Remove Tag work on an existing subscriber inside one List. Each needs three required fields: the List, the Tag and the Subscriber Email. That email field accepts several addresses separated by commas, so map exactly the address or addresses you mean. If you are not sure the contact is in the list yet, put Add/Update Subscriber or the subscriber search before the tag step; on the free plan, that extra step makes the Zap multi-step.
06What if the E-goi action you need is missing?
Then the operation does not exist on Zapier today, and no setting will reveal it. The visible list is the six actions and one search described on this page, plus the two triggers. Look at whether an existing step gets close, for example Start Autobot to hand the rest of the logic to an automation built inside E-goi. If nothing fits, compare what other automation platforms offer for E-goi before you commit to one of them.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for E-goi?
It depends on what weighs most for you, and this page only documents the Zapier side. On Zapier, E-goi comes with nine ready-made operations, two triggers that both poll on a timer, and a bill counted in successful actions. Check whether Make or n8n covers the exact operations your flow needs, how each one counts usage, and who on your team will maintain the flows. Pick on those criteria, not on the brand.
