What the GetMyInvoices Zapier integration actually does
GetMyInvoices gathers invoices and other paperwork from portals, mailboxes and billing tools into one account. Connected to Zapier, it tells your other apps when a new document lands there. One direction only. GetMyInvoices sends the news out, and nothing ever travels back into the account through this integration.
Everything rests on New Document, the only operation Zapier offers for this app. Three typical results come out of it.
A team that hears about paperwork without opening the account. Each new document sends a message to the channel where the finance people already talk. Nobody has to log in to check whether the supplier bill arrived.
A running log outside GetMyInvoices. The same trigger can add a row to a spreadsheet, one line per document, so the month's intake can be read at a glance by someone with no access to the tool.
A to-do for whoever approves or books it. A task tool can receive a card each time something new shows up, which turns a pile of documents into a queue someone owns.
Now the honest part. Zapier cannot do anything inside GetMyInvoices: no upload, no tagging, no status change, no lookup of an older document. There are zero actions and zero searches on this app. If the plan was to push files into it from another tool, Zapier is the wrong door for that.
The same app also exists on the other big platform: the GetMyInvoices Make integration page covers it there. For a wider view of the trade-offs, Make vs Zapier puts the two side by side.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. It asks the app for its latest items and keeps only the ones it has not seen yet.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check. GetMyInvoices has none.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Connection
- Your GetMyInvoices account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step in every Zap that needs it.
What it really costs
GetMyInvoices is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Free plan Zap sizeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- Trigger costZero tasks
The trigger itself never costs a task, however often Zapier checks for new documents. You pay only when an action in another app goes through, and an action that fails is not counted. That is the whole bill. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and checks every 15 minutes. The catch: it builds two-step Zaps only. Add a second action or a filter and the Zap becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
Connect GetMyInvoices to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account. That is where every linked tool lives. Before starting, have a working GetMyInvoices login ready, since Zapier cannot create one for you.
- 02
Find GetMyInvoices
Click + Add connection, type GetMyInvoices in the search box of the dialog and pick it from the list. Then confirm with Add connection, which opens the GetMyInvoices sign-in in a new tab.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to GetMyInvoices in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. If some documents belong to colleagues, make sure your user can at least read them, or the Zap will never see them.
Your first Zap: tell the bookkeeper, then log it
GoalEach new document in GetMyInvoices posts a message in Slack and adds a row to a Google Sheets log.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose GetMyInvoices as the app and New Document as the event. Select the connection you set up in the previous block.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent documents of the account, so pick one that looks typical. Read what came back: that is the material every later step can reuse.
- 03
Add the Slack message
Add Slack with Send Channel Message, pick the channel your bookkeeper follows and write a short message. Drop in values from the test so each post says which document arrived.
- 04
Log it in Google Sheets
Add Google Sheets with Create Spreadsheet Row and map the same values into the columns. This third card makes it a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan is needed here.
- 05
Test each step, then publish
Test both actions once and check the message and the row really appeared. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. From now on, each new document follows the same path.
The GetMyInvoices trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in GetMyInvoices. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Document
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new document is created.”
This starts a Zap whenever a fresh document shows up in your GetMyInvoices account, whether it came from a portal, a mailbox or a billing tool. It is the single entry point of the whole integration, so every Zap built on this app begins here.
When it breaks
Zapier links no help article to GetMyInvoices, so the weak spots below are Zapier's own general limits, applied to this one trigger.
Most surprises come from timing and volume rather than from the connection itself. When a Zap still misbehaves, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Old documents never come through
The Zap only reacts to what arrives after it is published. Documents already collected stay out of reach, and catching up on them is a separate job.A big import gets held back
When a large batch lands at once, after a migration for example, Zapier's flood protection can stop those items from running through the Zap straight away. The same document does not run twice
Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger. Each document starts the Zap once, which is normally what you want. The free plan refuses a third step
Adding a second action or a filter makes the Zap multi-step. On the free plan, that Zap needs an upgrade to a paid plan.
