Img2Go Zapier integrationAutomate Img2Go with Zapier.

The Img2Go Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers and 7 actions. Img2Go never starts a Zap: another app does, then Img2Go removes a background, resizes, compresses, converts, upscales, colorizes an image or generates one from a text prompt.

Overview

What the Img2Go Zapier integration does

Img2Go is an online service to create, edit, improve and convert images. Connected to Zapier, it becomes an image workshop your other tools can call: a file shows up somewhere, a product is added, a request comes in, and Img2Go applies the edit without anyone opening a design tool.

Three results come up most. Clean product shots: Remove Background isolates the subject, and Resize Image sets exact dimensions in pixels for your shop or your ads. Lighter files: Compress Image cuts the file size with a level you choose, and Convert File switches a file to another format. Better or brand-new pictures: Upscale Image raises resolution, Colorize Image adds color to black and white photos, and Text to Image generates a picture from a prompt.

Now the limits, because they shape every Zap. Img2Go has no trigger, so it cannot tell Zapier that something happened on its side; a Zap always starts in another app. There is no search step either, and no way to manage a library of past images from a Zap. Each action works on the file you hand it, then the Zap moves on.

Shopping around? The same app has its own Img2Go Make integration page, and our Zapier review helps you size up the platform. The operations below were read on the Zapier app page on 2026-10-01, version App221313CLIAPI@1.0.5.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven terms come up on this page. Here is each one in plain words.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. Img2Go has none, so the trigger always comes from another app you already use.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or changes something for you, such as resizing an image.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Instant vs polling
An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Img2Go account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches Img2Go.
Cost

What an Img2Go Zap costs you

Img2Go is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Zapier bills tasks, and all seven Img2Go operations are actions.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Steps on the free planOne trigger and one action
  • Img2Go triggersNone, the Zap starts elsewhere
  • Premium appNo

The trigger, which comes from another app, costs nothing, and neither does Zapier waiting for it. Every Img2Go action that succeeds counts as one task; a failed one is not counted. The free plan stops at two steps, one trigger and one action, so chaining two edits, say a background removal then a resize, or adding a filter makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan. How fast it starts depends on the other app's trigger: if it polls, the grid below applies.

Connect

Connect Img2Go to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your Zapier apps

In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need an Img2Go account first, plus access to any file you do not own but want the Zap to process.

  2. 02

    Pick Img2Go

Type Img2Go in the search box of the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Img2Go side so you can sign in with your usual login.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to Img2Go and grant Zapier access to the account. From then on, every Zap that uses Img2Go reuses this same connection, so you only do this once.

First Zap

Your first Zap: compress the images you drop in a folder

GoalEach time a new file lands in a folder of your cloud storage, the Zap sends it to Img2Go for compression, but only when it is an image.

  1. 01

    Build: choose the trigger

Create a Zap and pick your storage app, with its event for a new file in a folder. Img2Go has no trigger, so the Zap has to start in the app where the file lands.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from that folder, so you work on a real file and can see which values it carries.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon and add Filter. Pick the field that tells the file type, if the test shows one, a text rule and the value to match. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add Img2Go

Add Img2Go and choose Compress Image. Map the file from the trigger into the File field, which is required, then pick the compression level you want.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the step and check what comes back. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Files already in the folder are not picked up.

Actions

The 7 Img2Go actions

Img2Go gives you 7 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Colorize Image

Action

In Zapier“Add color to black and white images”

Adds color to a black and white image. It brings old photos back to life without manual retouching.

When to use it
a local history society that colorizes each archive photo submitted by its members.
Watch out
the File is required, and the action is meant for black and white pictures, not color ones.
2

Compress Image

Action

In Zapier“Reduce image file size with customizable compression level”

Reduces the file size of an image, with a compression level you can adjust. Lighter images load faster and fit within upload limits.

When to use it
a newsletter writer who keeps every inserted picture light before it goes into the email tool.
Watch out
the File is required, so the step before must pass the image along.
3

Convert File

Action

In Zapier“Convert files between different formats”

Converts a file from one format to another. Handy when the tool downstream accepts only one format.

When to use it
a print shop that receives artwork in mixed formats and wants them all in the one its workflow uses.
Watch out
the Output Format is required alongside the File, so decide the target format before you build.
4

Remove Background

Action

In Zapier“Remove background from an image”

Cuts the background out of an image and keeps the subject. It saves the manual cut-out work behind most product listings.

When to use it
a sneaker reseller who wants every new listing photo on a clean background.
Watch out
the File is required; a link to a web page is not the image itself.
5

Resize Image

Action

In Zapier“Change the dimensions of an image”

Changes the dimensions of an image to the width and height you set in pixels. Useful when every channel wants its own size.

When to use it
a real estate agent who needs listing photos at the exact size a property portal accepts.
Watch out
height, width and the file URL or upload are all required; leave one out and the step fails.
6

Text to Image

Action

In Zapier“Generate an image from text input”

Generates a new image from a text prompt, in a style you pick. It is the only Img2Go action that starts from words instead of a file.

When to use it
a blog editor who wants a header illustration drafted from each new article title.
Watch out
both the Text Prompt and the Image Style are required, so plan a value for each.
7

Upscale Image

Action

In Zapier“Increase image resolution and quality”

Increases the resolution and quality of an image by the scale factor you choose. It rescues small pictures that look blurry once enlarged.

When to use it
a merch store owner turning small customer uploads into files sharp enough for printing.
Watch out
the File and the Scale Factor are both required.
When it breaks

When an Img2Go Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Img2Go, so the known failure points are the ones every Zap shares, plus the required fields.

None of them shows on your first test. They come later, when volume grows or a file arrives in a shape you did not plan for. Four to keep in mind:

  • Old images are left out

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Images that were already there are not picked up, and processing the backlog is a separate job.
  • A missing field stops the step

Every Img2Go action has required fields: a file, a format, a scale factor, a size or a prompt. When the step before leaves one empty, the action fails.
  • A loop through your storage

A Zap that writes its result back into the folder its trigger watches sets itself off again and again, and your task count drains quickly.
  • A bulk upload gets held back

When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back.

FAQ

Img2Go Zapier integration: your questions

01Is the Img2Go Zapier integration free?
Yes, it works on the free Zapier plan, because Img2Go is not a premium app. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that removes the background of each new product photo fits. Chain a second edit, such as a resize after the background removal, or add a filter, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does an Img2Go Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A Zap that compresses each new image uses one task per image. A Zap that removes the background, resizes, then compresses uses three tasks per image. Waiting for the trigger costs nothing, and failed actions are not billed. With 100 tasks a month on the free plan, count how many images you process before you rely on it, especially with chained edits.
03Does Img2Go work in real time with Zapier?
Img2Go has no trigger, so the speed depends on the app that starts your Zap. If that app has an instant trigger, it tells Zapier the moment something happens and the Zap runs right away. If its trigger polls, Zapier checks on a timer, every 15 minutes on the free plan and faster on paid plans. Pick an instant trigger in the starting app when it offers one, and the Img2Go edit follows straight after.
04What does it take to connect an Img2Go account?
An Img2Go account, plus access to any file you do not own but want the Zap to process. Then three moves: open the Apps page in Zapier, click + Add connection and pick Img2Go, then sign in and grant access in the tab that opens. That connection serves every Zap afterwards. Before building, check that the app starting your Zap can hand over the image file itself, since most actions require it.
05How can an Img2Go Zap start if the app has no trigger?
It starts in another app. Every Zap begins with a trigger, and Img2Go offers none, so you pick the tool where the image really appears: a storage folder, an online store, a form or a spreadsheet. That trigger passes its data to the Img2Go step, for example a file for Remove Background. Text to Image is the exception that needs no file, only a prompt and a style, so it can follow almost any trigger.
06What if the Img2Go operation you need is not there?
Then a Zap cannot do it for Img2Go today. The app offers seven image actions and no trigger or search, so cropping to a custom shape, adding a watermark or browsing your past images is out of reach from a Zap. The practical route is to handle those edits outside the Zap and let Zapier run the seven it does cover. If a missing operation blocks a whole process, compare what other platforms offer for the same app before you commit.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Img2Go?
Choose by criteria, not by a winner. First, check that the operation you need exists on each platform: on Zapier, Img2Go offers seven actions and no trigger. Second, compare how each tool bills a run; on Zapier, only successful actions count as tasks, so chained edits add up. Third, think about who will maintain the automation and how comfortable they are with a technical setup. Run your own image process through those three points before you pick.
